I was doing some research, and I came across a site which provides free tarot readings. This site will deal your cards and tell you what each one means. My question to you is:
Do you think that a website can give out acurate readings? Isnt it the personal aspect of having the card reading in front of you which adds to their ability to give you a reading?
I forgot the link to the website, here it is
http://www.facade.com/tarot/
I don't think the ones on the web are accurate. I feel that its the person and their connection with a true deck of Tarot cards that make it a real reading.
There are many free tarot sites...that you flip over the cards. http;//www. mysticgames.com is another site...
No...I believe they are not accurate. For feel of the person's energy on the cards are a important factor.
No I don't think that a website can give a proper reading. When you being read or reading for some one else it's always best to do it in person.
they arent accurate at all but it is kinda cool for entertainment purposes
These sites can only tell you what the card means, not interpret the reading. Is the personalized interpretion key to our understanding of the reading? All of your ansers of great, but I would really like to see a deeper discussion going on here than just yes or no!!! I don't have much experience on the subject, but thus far I would agree that the peron centered readings are better by far than an online reading.
The cards are randomized and so on...There is no true influence on this...so no...It is not possable to do suxk a thing...
well My Grandma would not ever do a reading unless the person actuallu touched the cards . She said that they have to feel the persons spirit so I do not ever use internet stuff I always do it in person .....
I also feel the reading must be given with the person asking, the reader, and the cards in close proximity as the reader must be able to attune to the asker psychically. This is hard but not impossible to do at a a distance. I do not think a program can do that yet.
I also feel that you need to be in person to get a true reading of your cards .. I just do not put alot into any internet stuff such as that .... just me
I absolutely DO NOT believe that you can get any kind of reading from a website. It will just be a computer program which gives each person a random selection of cards. Computers are just machines.
online tarot readings are lot like the online ouija board and daily sign,it's good for entertainment and to kill time but if you put your faith in such a thing then atleast choose to go have one done in person by someone who is reliable and experienced in giving readings.
I honestly believe that Tarot readings are most accurate in person, where you can give the energy into the cards, And yourself/ or the other reading and dealing can feel you spiritually and can concentrate. Online its just a computersystem how are they suppose to know you, or feel your spiritual energy, i just don't believe you could get a very real or accurate reading from a computer, thats my opnion on it
I think tarot, like many fortune telling mechanisms can be right depending how the person takes the information and makes it apply to themselves.
i do not belive the online readings are accurate. there is a bond you make with your reader that has to be done face to face.
i would rather have the person in front of me to believe it.
Impossible for the on line tarot to be personal to you and give you the right reading.
One the tarot is both Tarot and zodiac and are inside you as archetypes.
It is also linked to all magical systems.
This makes it impossible for on line to work.
It is also impossible for most tarot packs to give you the right reading as there not the right images to the true tarot.
Alister Crowley pointed this out as I do and many more such as Jung…
Most wont understand the tarot as long as experience the stars as something above your head, you lack the eye of knowledge … Fredrick Nietzsche
Also those who use it for evil will corrupt the pack same as those who use it for good. The pack is just a gauge of your psyche at that moment in time.
The Celtic cross is used as it works so well… the reason why is it is ego(horizontal) over selfhood ( vertical)
lavisbre, could you explain a little more about the tarot and zodiac being inside you as archetypes?
Im assuming one knows about archetypes as documented by carl Jung and read the book of thoth by Alister Crowley.
Like most divination it is somewhere between the dimensions of conscious and unconscious. The feminine and masculine. Tarot and it’s sister forms like Kabala numerology and astrology ect are linked to our inside archetype.
The planets and stars are symbolized not to mean actual planetary bodies but parts of our psyche our archetype
mmmmm no they would not be very acurate, it needs to be face to face, you need to actually touch that cards in order to get an acurate reading
No, I wouldn't believe they're accurate because the computer is impersonal and just randomly deals the cards.
I don't believe computer or phone tarot, it's just there to make money. To get an accurate reading the person needs to touch the cards for you to get a connection with them
The probablity of an accurate reading from an on line Tarot reader program is propotionaly > than a reading from a random Tarot reader in a Occult supply store. The difference is the interpretation, it is a matter best shared between a gifted reader and who can tweak the raw data into a reading more suitable for the individual seeker. Raw data defined as the astrological and kabbalistic inerpretations of the cards.
As most everyone here has agreed I don't feel that you can get an accurate reading from the web. Part of it is the energy flowing between the reader and the person being read, and the face to face interaction. The reader is usually gifted with something more than just being able to read the cards and that adds to a more accurate reading.....
thats my two cents :)
I don't think so. I mean, its a machine. Machines make mistakes.
People make mistakes as well though, isnt it possible to make a mistake giving a tarot reading?
I have gained alot of insight into tarrot reading from this thread though I thank everyone for their responces!
Well, since I think that to do tarot reading you have to have some amount of psychic energy, that would be another reason why I don't think its possible.
I think it is one of those "for entertainment purposes only". I have trouble believing web tarot is accurate.
Rev. Ravyn
I don't think that a website can, to many unknown variables.
Many people question whether tarot readings are accurate when they are done face to face. It would be my assumption that over the internet would increase the chances of the cards giving faulty input because you cannot vouche for sure that they shuffled the deck before they gave you a tarot card reading.
The online readings are randomized and have assigned outcomes for each permutatiion - not very spiritual. I wouldn't put too much into them.
A real tarot card will cleanse the deck prior to use and give a personal face to face touch to the reading too.
How interesting, tarot cards always peek my interest but I regard readings lightheartly, so thankyou for the link as I am always into something new :)
Jessika to answer your original question, I think that you are correct. to really get an accurate reading, one must be in front of the tarot card reader. Otherwise the actuality of the information being close to a true prediction is null.
I do not believe tarot or any other such personal readings can be accurate online. I could see how astrology and numerology may be accurate as they deal with data that is unchanted, ex: numerology usually uses your date of birth for it's readings. Your DOB is something that will never change.
If in a tarot readings, any questions are asked, the person getting the reading could be lying and therefore any reading information would be inaccurate. Unless something lies about their DOB or things that cannot be truely changed, astrology and numerology would be most accurate.
So the numerology online would work, whereas the tarrot would not...What about the other aspects of the site? Would the runes work or not?
I honestly don't know a thing about runes. Are they based on factual information or are they a 'roll of the dice/runes' kind of thing? If it's the luck of the roll, then no, I do not believe in it's accuracy.
To go any gaming site and you will see roulette wheels, cards being dealt, and other things based on luck of the draw, roll, etc.
I don't really know the difference between runes and tarrot, I would love to though if anyone else around here does! :)
I barrly believe in the real thing. The site proabaly just deals out random cards and tells you general stuff.
I don't think that Tarot Readings are accurate either way. I may be different and wrong, but if someone could actually tell the future, why are there times no one wins the lottery. Why can't they warn someone of death such as don't go outside today you are going to be hit by a car. I think that somethings should just be left alone.
Same with online Ouija boards, or fortune cookies, etc, etc. It all has to be pre-programmed.
I'm not sure about Runes online either. I'm guessing that all the online sites are bogus.
If you ask me life is a like the toss of the dice. Even the best laid out plans can fail. and as far as tarot cards go, how ever they are dealt is all by chance whether it be in person or by a computer. I'll take my chances that I can guess just as well what is going to happen in my future as well as any tarot card reading. :P
Can a site accurately do readings? Doubtful. It doesn't know you or anything about you
i gave the tarot reading a 50/50 chance of being right, but i would believe to see the person first hand.
I dont hink it would be accurate only because there should be a connection between the reader and the person
I agree all online stuff is just for entertainment purposes. But I do believe that if u are communicating with say a friend online and they are doing a tarot reading...then I do believe it can work. As with Runes. No it wouldnt work.
No a computer can't give you an accurate reading. The tarot is a personal, (magical/mystical) experience, you need an actual person for that
If someone is on a messenger giving u a reading...isnt it kind of the same like being on the phone for a reading. ??
LOL how can it get an accurate reading... I don't think its possible
I don't think it will work because there is no connection, it's just some automated cards being put out, not somebody doing the reading.
online readings with things like these are inaccurate. they're just randomized.
i think you need a person.
i dont think tarot reading on the web are accurate not even 1% not even .5%
Having your Tarot read is a personal connection between you the cards and the reader. There has to be some level of trust between you. I do not believe that there can be that level between a person and a machine.Tarot reading is as much intuitive as it is seeing what the cards say.
I think that tarot readings shoud be done in person not on the web or even on the phone. How accurate can one be if you dont feel the cards?
Yes, I think they lack some accuracy but if you will any thing it can have the right energy and it can read fairly close.. There is a reading in my Journal from an online site and that reading was so right on the noise it was not funny... Before that reading I may have said they were all hog wash.. Maybe it was a chance rading but it still happen.. luck or not..
i dont think that the tarot readings off a webpage are true because some of them are just random but i mean some of it maybe a quincadence but no they are not accurate
I think it is most definitely not possible to do a proper reading online. That reminds me of those psychic hot lines that used to be allover the T.V. adds. As long as they stick to general answers that apply to anyone, like you have been hurt in your past....brighter days are ahead........ you think they were accurate in your card reading. Interesting though for sure.
I guess they can give an accurate reading, or more or less accurate reading, but I do believe that it is better for me if I am witnessing the read in front of me with my own eyes, or if I am doing it by my self, wich I find to be the best option of them all.
The main point behind tarot readings is personal contact. A true reader would need the person present to get a reading. A expert reader gets their skill from peering into the soul of the person through their eyes.
I have to say that I dont believe any online or even over the phone psychic services are accurate, due to the fact that the (as I was always taught) asker's energy needs to be present for the spirits to guide them corectly. IMO, tho.
I personally think a reading needs to be done by a human not a computer.
here is my free reading i had done and yes i think a real person would be better
my reading.. who am i
So the poll is that online computer tarot readings are not accurate. Looks like that's as far as this thread is able to go.
