Greetings,
As I am a new member to the Rave, I have had the profound and most delightful opportunity to meet some incredible individuals from across the board, and have been able to make some good new friends along the way. I have also learned a lot about myself and from others and their feelings, inner thoughts, and experiences.
I feel as though I have in a way been humbled by it all. I do not know much of anyone like all of you crazy stellar members where I am from and only have a very limited about of internet access at any one time; so when I am able to get on I spend most of my time here striving for more knowledge about the life of which I love to live. When I sign on I get a very personal sense of being, "Home" as I explore the depths to VR.
My questions are as such;
*Am I the only one that gets these awesome overwhelming feelings when participating on/in VR?
*What, if anything has anyone else felt?
Home for sure, it has more good things going on than not.
Avoid the politics always in anything you do in life or VR
And follow the rules as we have a need to keep to the rules… mind you not that the boundaries are pushed from time to time by admin or members.lol
admin on the whole put loads of there free time into keeping this site great...
I would not go as far as to call VR or my coven home, but I do enjoy this site, and I think it is nice that there are people willing to spend their time keeping it running.
I have found good people, some solid friends as well both on here and in real life. But I have also met a lot of not so great people.
I am more at home here than any where else real or virtual.
Michael
I have found myself a *Comfort Zone* and have met also many new and interesting people along the way.
I also would love to thank everyone whom does their part to help keep this site going and to help keep drama to a minimum LOL
All in all I could call it my secound home as well thanks for the thread.
I call vr my home away from home due to the awesome ppl Ive met on here
yes I can't imagine my Life with out VR to sign on too each day when ever I get board I have had a really good experince being on here and having the benefits of being a PM as well as switching in to 4-5 different covens it has been an adventure that I hope lasts for a longer time :] I feel many connections w/w the ppl that I chat with alot of good energy is what I get out of my time each day on here unless somthing is wrong w/ one of my friends I am here to listen and help in any way I can just as if they were a sister or a brother or a best friend of mine and as if they were right here with me...
Yes, I know what you mean. Since I live alone almost all my time is spent on here. I love my Coven & I have met some wonderful people on here. The tards I just block. And you will come across a few of them. But, for the most part there are good people on here. Enjoy your time on here & if I can be of any help just give me a holler.
This is a place where one can feel free to be themselves and almost all are open-minded individuals which I think this is something we all look for, other like minded people with the same interests.
I have to agree that this is like another home. I log on everyday and most days spend up to 10 hours on here.
This is my home, and these are my family and my coven, my brothers and sisters...my blood.
I joined because my sons girlfriend wanted me to see what her beliefs are all about. I have found a wonderful Coven and lots of really awesome friends here. I've learned so much and met so many interesting people. I would spend my whole day here if I could. I stay up until 2 am most nights because I just don't want to stop. Oh yes, this place is very addictive. Its the most fun I think you can have with your clothes on!! LOL
I know I spend more time speaking to people on here than people I come in contact with daily! :D
I do feel like I have been accepted here and that is a warm feeling for anyone. I am not sure I would call this home but that might be because I never felt comfortable at home. I would say I feel safe here.
i enjoy this place as well and feel so happy lol when i get on here just cuz most of the people are awsome and so every interesting
I wouldn't call the Rave my home, but my wife would, due to all the time I have spent on here.
I am happy that you feel welcome here, but I have an eirie feeling that feeling, like new lovers, will wear off a bit.
When you get incucted to a coven, and deal with the drama there and/or any drama that can form off of these forums, or even the issues of portfolio ratings, there will be things that will make you not look at the Rave as pleasantly as you did initially.
But what is nice, is the total experience is very much like life, it is what you make of it, and the is much to be experienced and enjoyed.
You know alot of people have made me feel so welcome * i have had a past account on here b4, well a few of them but my last one i wasnt able to get on for a while bc of family problems but ne way*
but some people on here just make me feel so unwelcome
but those are the people u just have to ignore and move past
bc the ppl that want u here are way worth it :)
I think we all feel it to a certain extent, I know when I have had a long day I look forward to comming home and talking with people ont he rave, and it does gove a feeling of being home, being around so many people that are kind and do care for others.
I dont know about awesome feelings and that but I do know that I enjoy being on VR with the friends I have made and I enjoy the threads here on forum some of the subjects open your mind to make you think outside the square and of course my coven (Coven of the Dragon) is like a second family. Everyone is there to help and support each other and also to have some fun as well
Yes, I know what you mean. I even dream about the site when I'm not online lol
Could be the comradery and or fellowship that revolves throughout this environment. The realization about others relating to a disposition within society. That certain feel good aspect of atmosphere the individual relates to without being outcasted just for being differant. Hmmm...Could be a definition of "home".
could be... my covenmates are the first who truely anf fully accept me for me
I get those feelings too,so your not alone in feeling most at home on VR.
since I have joined VR I have made some pretty awesome friends. =)
i'm new to the rave too, and i'm very happy i was referred to the site. i love it here. it's like coming home.
i love the rave. i found so many wonderful people here, though messaging and through my coven. i'm very happy i'm here.
I must say....
I definitely feel like this is a place I can come and "let my hair down".
I've met a few good people and some that I can call "Brother".
The rave has allowed me to explore parts of myself and participate in great discussions as well as learn from others experiences and views.
There are many well versed, well educated individuals here and I thank those that take the time to keep VR up and running.
Darkest Blessings to all,
Traveler
As many have said VR is an addiction! I'm still a "newbie" as the crow flies but I do consider VR my "home away from home"
From meeting hundreds of awesome people to being able to befriend and help many others as well, if I didn't like sex so much I'd probably never get off here lol.
I must applaud the "pro-VR" quality of this thread as well, such a breathe of fresh air.
I concider VR my home. I've meet so many unique and amazing individuals. I feel like I belong here. I've braged about this place since day one or night one. I've always told my friends, "You've got to get on." "Its really great." I've even gone far enought to say that VR is better than Myspace. I beleive it is because of all the people that share this site and treat everyone as a family. People on here don't treat people here like a group that only talks to each other because we are here. We talk to each other because it is a place that we all know that there is a friend or two that you can talk to. That is Why I call VR my home.
Greetings again,
These responces as well as the quantity of them were all totally unexpected. Stellar to say the least. That was my first thread in the forums and honestly was very nervous about the results I might recieve, and also the first impression I would stamp myslef with. All in all I believe it was a good decison. Heh, and I also feel that there is 1 individual we all owe thanks to. That is of course;
Cancer (The Prince)-Thank you.
Without your mastermind and behind the scene help you have accumulated, this thread, this site, this educational experiece, this to some; "home" could not be possible. Thanks to you, and to all who have responded positively to my thread.
May so many great blessings fall upon all.
Rabynion
I love this site and Our Prince is a great person to chat with and wonderful to have started this great site for so many like minded people to meet and relate to.
I have real-life family on here as well as My coven family and the many friends that make me feel so welcome when I met them as well as when we chat on here, it is a great site and well I kick off my shoes and get comfy when I am on here.
as the immortal Dorothy said
*There is no place like Home, There is no Place like Home* LOL
It could be that there is a fairly well defined social structure with it's on system of rules and rewards.
More consistant than the family life most people have had...
It is no wonder that people think of VR as home...
All I can say is that I am addicted to this site. When I am not on here all I can think about is the next time I can login.
in reguards to addiction... I think that there is a similarity here to WOW... in which there is some type of need and instant gratification in leveling up...
I am not sure how that relates to a fealing of family... because my family sure as Hell isn't adictive...
*laughs*
A balance is needed sometimes.
My personal life over took being on VR.
Iv managed to get back on lol and updated my membership for another year.
My house eternal is great and to be honest might not of stayed after reading from others the horror stories of how some run their house or coven. Being taken when new into a house is an odd practice and totally fun.
This site is evolving and im glad to be part of it… even if I do argue loads lol
Vampire Rave is an awesome site and when a friend told me about it, I joined and ever since then I been addicted to it. The people on VR are awesome, friendly, and nice people. The staff here on VR is also great because they take a lot of time and effort to keep this site running smooth. I do feel that this is my second home.
It does feel like home..the people here seem to accept you for what you are, in fact weirdness is welcome and embraced..I think that is wonderful.
Right now, I want to do evil things to my home....
I have been working so hard to make Sire, and I seem to get thwarted left and right...
Wow. The Rave is turning out to be very much like life. You can get ahead if you work at it, but it is not a fair and just place.
It is what it is and it changes constantly.
Take it from one who knows drama....... stay away from it. The politics and all that on here can get very rough and hurtful. I love Vampire Rave. I wish I could redo some things however that is not possible. Just enjoy it for what it is and enjoy the people. For the most part everyone here is a true joy to talk with and get to know.
*Am I the only one that gets these awesome overwhelming feelings when participating on/in VR?
I get them at times
*What, if anything has anyone else felt?
idk really hard to type it out, its strange
I wouldn't go as far as call VR my home and I have other haunts in cyberspace, but I think I could consider it one of the most fascinating sites I've been in. There is a lot to learn from the database and from the forums, and I've come across interesting (as well as not too interesting) personalities; all in all these elements (both the good and the bad) help make the Rave beautiful.
vr is the second hom efor me after my real home where i physically stay.
i would call this place home, or my release from the pressures of life in general, have meet alot of good friends here. I avoid drama for if i wanted that i would go to the bar, But yes my home.
Home is where the heart is...
i would agree with the others that have said VR is not my home, i know where that is.
VR is a place i feel comfortable, and many that know me will agree they can see the whole me, rather than just the small pieces i chose to show. its a place i have learned a great amount, ive had the pelasure of meeting fellow VR members in the flesh, and have made some great friendships both online and in RL from the experience.
It like every community i am and have been part of has its dramas, its up and downs and of course its bad eggs, but its all part of the experience.
hello and welcome to the addiction
Heim
VR is very much another "home" for me... there are great individuals here and a atmosphere that allows for group discussion on a host of topics that I find interesting.
Home is just where you feel you are.. and in your heart.. if you feel your home Your home no matter where u may call it..=P
i must say i feel very accepted on VR and especially on my coven. there are some wonderful people there and i am very glad i got the chance to meet them. they are like my second family.
Let me reiterate. I never called VR my home. I simply expressed a "Feeling" of home. There is a difference, slight yes, but there is.
well my coven is my family, i have made friends here that have become real family to me, i don' know what i would do with out them. so yes there is a feeling of home here for me
I would not call VR home but it makes me feel comfortable due in part to some great people I have met here
Xzavier you pervert! LOL
But yes .. I do know that feeling.
i do find this site rather homey. the staff on the sight have been very nice. there's also a lot less "whiney-emo" types on vr than on vampirefreaks, and i like that alot!
I do achieve a certain value of feeling at home here on VR especially with some of the members i have become really close with...... the covens i have taken part in have given me a place where i truly feel like i belong
Yes VR is slightly different then your coven home but all and all its a home away from everyday home life for me.
I agree enpecially if you have a coven offline and in reality they are ur family the covens here are far different then traditional covens that are formed... but just the same it is indeed home and it littereally takes u sometimes out of ur reality into this fullyfunctional reality that is the internet very easily...
LOL!!!
It appears that my home has caught on fire...
I guess the maintenance that Cancer did yesterday wiped out some of my posts, which dropped me a level overnight!
Crap...
Like I said earlier in my posts, The Rave is definitely a being with its own behavior.
I feel the same. I have made better friends on VR then off. One of my best friends ever in on VR. I can trust him with everything. It makes me feel good about everything around me. VR is always "home" to me.
Vr is a great place. I have got some good friends here. But i also have meet they i dont want to have anything to do with. But in the end so is it a community as the most other internet communityes.
Once finding this site and perusing it, I found immediately a place of refuge, of sanctuary and a home away from home.. a place where people can be themselves and discuss topics that they cannot with family or certain friends. It is a good place to be.
Friend I can relate to being out in the middle of no-where. And yes we are quite the ecletic mix. But of all the sites I haunt. I found this the only one worth paying for. And I have been around from the internet's inception. And I towish there were more, mature, ones like me around where I live. Keep the fire burning borther......
I had to leave for a very long while but when I came back, I felt right back at home. My house members embraced and welcomed me back with open arms and I was drowned in lovely messages.
This world is so vast and confusing that it is imperative to find a place that you can find home, a place you can find peace at and broaden your knowledge. It's always wonderful to feel welcome and safe.
I just simply cant get over how many responces with similar thoughts to my own this thread has recieved. How enlightening and uplifting this makes one feel.
