If you were suddenly turned into a Vampire (assuming you haven't already been turned) - Would you stay local and feed on your friends and family - the people that you've known all your life in your home town or would you relocate?
If you do relocate, where would it be and for what reason?
Do you believe some grounds are more prosperous for Vampires than others?

Where would your first destination be?

Would I stay in my home town - hell no! I'd be off to see the world feeding on any hottie that took my fancy!

I would relocate to find new blood to feed on and I would start with people I wouldn't know of and then work on family and friends who have already past over. If I was was to do that as a last resort I would go to Italy to find some ancestors that I never knew of first amd then go on from there

If by turned you mean become evil... the type of vampire like in Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel, I would drain my entire family dry.

I would not harm my family, for they would be my only link to the life I once lived, but I would remain in the area and feed on strangers, I would only migrate when need be to keep the autorities from figureing out who I was.

if i were turned into a vampire i might consider turning the people i know but only if they wated to be turned. it would be a great gift to give them. then after i would relocate to europe and start living there till i got bored and moved somewhere else. why europe? why not.

I would for certain relocate! Ive traveled alot but was never able to experience the culture or geography of all the places Ive been. So besides the wining and dining of the ever changing delicacies from around the world; if I had the opportunity to go where ever I wanted; later.

its actually easier to blend into the smaller cities because in the grand cities, there is a bit of a current to the cultures, but in smaller places, its easier to keep to the self. Not so many onlookers, even if they do not know they are looking.

I'd stay put for a brief period, maybe drain certain local elected officials, until I'd organized my resources. I'd divorce my husband, which would make it easier to create some distance between myself and my family. Then, I'd head into the urban wilderness for adventure, blood and capital growth. Staying in touch with my family via the internet and telephone would be easy, and I'd even meet with them occasionally. My lack of aging could be disguised with make-up and prosthetic artistry, until they died and it was no longer necessary to employ such a ruse.

Infernalimage: So you mean it would be easier to blend into small towns than big cities? Wouldn't that cause certain feeding problems? I'd think that it would be more noticed in smaller towns than in big cities.

I would build a bunker underground my house, to wich I would keep all the feeding material, in chains of course.

The walls would be thicker than thick, no body would hear you scream.

I'd probably move a lot yeah...I'd most likely feed on people who don't deserve to be here though. A good way to cleanse the population. :)

And how would you judge on who is worthy and who is worthless of being alive?

I would relocate because I wouldn't want to feed on ones I know. I would feed on those in the big cities cause you can get lost is cities like that and more goes on at night.

I am confused..isn't there two kinds of vampire bites? One that kills instantly after blood is sucked out, and the other bite turns a loved one? Or, hmm is that just in different novels by the pen of a different author?

If it was possible, no I do not think I would re-locate. I can control my needs and would never harm my family and friends.

well they would have a constant on traveling or moving alot in order to be sure and have plenty of variety. Yet I agree that you should not disclose your home base/ ground with anyone out side your closest counsil. :)

I'd relocate every 10 years whether I liked it or not...once people know of you and see that you haven't aged in 10 years or so, it's time to move on, get a new fake ID, etc.

I would not relocate, for the plain and simple fact that all within my life know who, and what I am. Since this city of mine is completely open minded, there is absolutely no need to hide, nor to relocate.

Aside from all of this...I fear nothing, relocation does not exist in my world. Why hide, when that is all society has done past and present, pardon me but F*CK that. Enough is enough.

I would definitely relocate. I couldn't harm my friends & family. Plus, I don't think I would even want them to be aware of my new lifestyle. I would travel the world. Not sure where I would go first since there are so many places I would love to see.

i wouldn't bite my friends and family unless i thought that they wanted to be bitten. and i would probably not stay in the area i am now, it'd be more fun to move around and see the world with all the leisure in the world.

I would relocate for all of the reasons above. However New Orleans, California, the Netherlands, and any other place that is prone to natural disasters would be off the list. I don't want to be an immortal trapped by rubble or in a fishbowl.

I would relocate back to RENO NEVADA my home town. The place is open 24-7 and there is so many hiding spots.

I think you may need to be on the move quite often or be very careful what you did with your dead donaters lol. I would relocate as I have always wished to travel and think it would be exciting.

your hometown is probably the best city I've ever been to... first city I'd ever met a "vampire" living an open lifestyle... Not to mention the other odd shit that tends to happen down there... I mean even the way the fog rolls off of the Missisippi seams fantastic.

I would relocate to the city that has a very high population of old folk....one foot in the grave types, after all who would question their deaths ?

If I was a vampire, everyone would be prey. Relocating would be a necessity, not a choice. There would be no end to my travels...

If my personality didn't change when I got turned, I'd stay around, feed off of all my enemies, and all the people I wanted to get back at, then I'd probably move on.
I think that some areas are probably more of an attraction to vampires, depending on their personality. I would think big cities would probably be a go. Lots of people, it would be easier to go unnoticed.

Some grounds would technically be more prosperous than others...number of people and such. But it all depends on what you choose to feed on and the type of vampire you become...as not all drink blood. But based on the theory that they do...then I would be relocating. I don't want anyone in my area, lol. Would probably move outside a city on some big plot of land...privacy and such, you know. As far as what city...that I don't know.

I wouldnt go anywhere seeing as I just really moved here and no one really knows me....

If it were possible to be turned I'd have to move due to risk of exposer being so high.

I think i would move to a differenet town.

I would move to a remote area, say Alaska. I would feed of bears.

I would say I would relocate. For 2 reasons. The first would be that I would not be able to see my friends and family knowing that I am immortal so watching them die would be too harsh. Also knowing that they would not understand me and what I have become, I would hate to see fear or revulsion in their eyes.

I would move to a large city being in Australia I would go to Melbourne or Sydney. But then yet I would travel abroad to large cities such as new york. Mostly so I could lose myself in the crowd, and feed of the nasties of the world lol.

I would not leave everyone I knew behind, but I would go exploring a bit....hehehe :)

My new location would be a personal underground converted laboratory, wich would be fully isolated, protected, from any possible technological detection, or sensory. I would waste my eternal youth in the pursuits of attaining power, ultimate knowledge, and ability to do anything, and anyhow. I would waste time in accomplishments of goals like understanding how to create eternal things, wich do not change. My ultimate lair would be multi underground levels. The things wich would take place there wouldnt be for the ordinary eye to witness. Among all these highly evolved functional levels would be the ultimate dungeon, all in chains, and skeletons pinned on the walls, with candles on skulls, in each corners, where I would treat all the beautiful women from all their emotional problems, and distress wich ordinary daily life has to offer.

Yea, the novelty of immortality would wear off rather quickly I think. After you've done it all, do you just sit around wanting to die?

I have relocated to a colder and more populated area...It was about a year ago when I finally confronted myself. I can now get lost in the masses and can be myself without a thought of what "they" would think. I do not see anyone from my family, friends, anymore....It feels good not to have connections to limit my thoughts. I love it!

I live in a small town, so if I was turned and had to feed from people, it would most likely be people that I already know, so I would relocate. I would probably move to the city or somewhere with a larger population and people that go out and party at night. I just think it would be easier for a vampire to survive in the city with all of it's night clubs and people...

I agree with DarknessBreached, I would turn family members if they wished to be turned but not otherwise. If they wished to be turned then we would relocate every few years. If they didn't wish to be turned I would relocate nearby so that I may still visit them without anyone noticing that I wasn't ageing.

I think you would need to move around not neccessary just about the feeding part but about becoming the hunted as people would be looking for you tying to hunt you and get rid of you

yeah, I guess you wouldn't be able to stay in one place to long in case people start to notice that people are missing you would need to move around alot.

Well considering a simple fact that I don't get along with my family walking away would be easy as I already have done it.

I would definitely relocate to a larger city. Mostly for a wider range of victims, but also because I can't help but think that my supernatural instincts and senses would be really enhanced surrounded by millions of people. I think it would be exciting. And as time moves on I would move to different cities of the world take the time to really explore the world I live in.

depends if we are talking live forever young vampire i would stay until there was no way a normal person would look like me at that age and move on fake my death and recreate myself somewhere back watered

I would not be one to feed off of my family..but I would roam the earth in search of areas that are high crime where the police can't seem to find the criminals...so I would try to rid the world of the vermin who prey on helpless victims and make them my prey.

well i don't have a family its just me and my hubby and brother so no i would not move.because for one if this ever happend i know my hubby and my brother would be more then happt to join in in the dark side hahaha!!!!!!!!!!

I would relocate since there would be a high chance of someone discovering me around here... I live in a smaller area.

I would probably stay around city areas so no one would really notice me. I would move around every 15 years or when I started to get paranoid.

If I had anyone to be with me for eternity, I would probably ask my beau because he would understand it all. I would only turn him if he wanted me to and even then I would have to think long and hard about it.

As for feeding off of my family... no. I wouldn't do that to them. I would be scared to hurt them.

Ya know perhaps after the family had passed on from old age I may wish to travel the world and see its sites, but staying out of the sun could be somewhat of a chore during those travels to new places.

Constant Relocation would be the key in keeping my 'turning' a secret. Being immortal and forever 'young' would be too easy to spot otherwise.

well if "turned" i would probably stay local for a while and see if my family and friends would support the new life and if they did i would probably stay but if they didnt i would probably relocate

i'd feed on the ones close to me if they wanted to be turned, if not i would not force it on them.

That would all depend if I saw it as a blessing or a curse. And I don't care who you are, you never really know how you'll feel about it until it has happened to you. If I felt it was a blessing then I would stay around the area o share it with friends and family alike. If I felt that it was a curse to me then I would flee to somewhere else, not out of some savior act of virtue but to hide my shame that I had felt. So in the long run I suppose it all depends on how I felt about the dark gift upon receiving it.

But when one has to feed, It will not matter if they are close or not.

I might try to keep it a secret for as long as possible..... move on when ever it seemed like danger was near. Relocating frequently, in warmer regions, feed on the wicked and make the world a better place. =)
