Alright since there is already a what are you listening to thread I've decided to ask, what are your favorite vampire flicks? Yout top three is sufficient.
Mine are as follows :
Interview with the vampire - Naturally, who wouldn't have this in their top three. It will forever remain a classic and didn't stray to much from Anne Rice's novel, although we all know the books are always far better!
Queen of the Damned - Although a let down compared to IWTV, if disregarded as an adaption of Anne Rice's novel it is generally a visually stunning and great interpertation on vampires - the stylish, romantic sexy kind lol and who doesn't like to look at stuart townsend in those sexy leather pants and mesh shirts?
Bram Stokers Dracula - Yes, yes all these novel adaptations! I guess they just cant come up with any original vampire movies but this one was also quite well done and for the runner up... Underworld, just simply for the futuristic pvc style and the excellent portrayl of humane vampires ;)
Hmmmmmmmmmm...
The Lost Boys...
simply a classic
The Hunger
my first vamp flick
Enbrace the Vampire
alyssa milano is SO hot!
lol OMG I can't believe I for the Hunger!!! Not only do I love David Bowie and Catherine Denueve, but it is a simply classic artsy film lol where is my brains? and yes, Lost boys.. I sure do own that film, long live the eighties :) lol
Uhu Scarr..Alyssa is hot! I love her..especially on Charmed!
I like that movie and also the Queen of the Damned...
I only like the effects, not the PLOT..
sucks!! :P
Well, if we're talking a serious vampire movie, then I would have to say Queen of the Damned. I think overall, it's one of the best produced vampire movies ever. Good story line, great architecture, wonderful costumes, and probably the best musical score of all time. The Rice-in-ites got all butt hurt because it differed from the book - get over it.
If we're talking non-serious vampire movie, then my favorite is From Dusk til Dawn. I just love Quentin Tarantino.
Interview....is great......Plus i love from Dusk Till Dawn......I havent seen Queen of the Damned .....YET...lol.....Another good one is John Carpenters Vampires.....I know you said 3 but they are so many...lol....xxxxx
Lost boys and Underworld .....
But I lie, as I have bundles in my collection
Well, not quite a movie but a great anime nonetheless, Hellsing. It features a vampire named Alucard who loves to beat the crap out of supernatural demons and such. (His pic is featured in my avatar.) My friend suggests that Alucard could make Lestat into mincemeat, but that argument is still raging on as we speak....uh, type.
I would say Vampire Hunter D but I did'nt care for it much...
Currently however I'm into samurai flicks big time. Kill Bill 1 and 2, as Kaged mention earlier, kick so much ass. Last samurai was good too, but I cried more than cheered the action on.
hmmmm well if i had to pick three i sould go with,
Interview, simply for the stlye and mood.
lost boys for 80s cheesey fun
and shadow of the vampire because its different.
my fave is a tie between The Lost Boys .. and Bram stokers Dracula
Blade! ^__^ or maybe Vampire Hunter D. I also really like The Hunger...mmm, Bowie.
Interview with a Vampire... excellent movie great cast....
Bram Stokers Dracula... very classic...
Underworld... very nice effects and a decent plot
I just bought the ultra violet series, I know it's not a film, but a series... excellent viewing
OK, so everyone loves the Lost Boys, Anne Rice's movies, and Dracula flicks. Here's some you may not know, and you should be ashamed if you don't.
1. Fright Night - This movie cannot be forgotten... one of my all-time faves.
2. Roman Polanski's The Fearless Vampire Killers - A fun movie all around, a bit dated, but still good to watch...
3. TIE between My Best Friend is a Vampire and Once Bitten - both 80's/90's camp, but just good silliness.
D
I personally refuse to watch any movie by Roman Polanski. I choose not to patron directors who rape children, plead guilty, and then skip bail and flee to France to avoid incarceration.
Yet another reason to hate the French... Who shields child rapists anyway?
Hey I'm part french Cancer ! :P And who could forget Fright Night Elder? It's one of the most nostalgic 80's vampire flicks.
My first would be Interview.
Second, Ha. Now it gets Tricky.... Probably Bram Stoker's Dracula.
And for my third. This will make more laugh than anything, but the first movie that scared the crap out of me, and I am now in my thirties I still see that image of Danny Glick scratching the windows asking for mark to let him in.
The original Salem's Lot.
Ok. I have finally made a decision.
THe original Nosferatu.
The hunger.
Bram Stoker's Dracula.
My three fav. Vamp. Movies are...(drum roll please)
#3: The Lost Boys
#2: Interview with a Vampire
#1: Underworld
i'm with cancer, screw the french. muletos! vampire hunter d & queen of the damned. muy bueno!
Mine is Nosferatu.I saw it when I was ten and I have been interested vampires since then.My second would be Queen of the Damned..that was just hot.
Vampire Hunter D and D2
Lost Boys *all time favorite*
Bram Stokers Dracula
Queen of the Damned is my fav so far, but nothing can beat Dracula Dead and Loving It. hahahahaha that movie rocks
mmh.. my 3 vavs
countess Dracula whit ingrid Pitt from 1970 what a great year hehehe...
1) Near Dark - I just can't get enough of that flick. Lots of big names, before they were big.
2) Salem's lot
3) Dracula's Dog - Just because he gets no love.
Dracula's dog? never heard of that one ... is it easily accessible?
So hard to choose... top 3 (in no specific order) would have to be...
Bram Stokers Dracula (for the sexyness of Gary Oldman)
Blade (for general coolness)
The Lost Boys (that soundtrack is awesome)
Van Helsing. It isn't good film but great comedy. Me with my friends laught until the end.
Near Dark is by far my fav vamp movie of all time! When I was growing up I watched it so much that I wore the tape out! I still own a copy even though I never watch it anymore, going by todays standards its cheesy and wasn't well scripted. But, back in da day, it was awesome!
Let's see, number one would have to be Interview, number two is Damned, and three is Lost Boys. They're all amazing.
My 5 fave vampire films are
Interview (Stlye,Costumes,acting from Kirsten Dunst)
Lost Boys (So surreal and entertaining)
Blade(still a vampire and i am sword admirer)
bram stokers(need i say more?)
Vampire in Brooklyn(Eddie murphy finest)
Vampire Hunter D is good like lost boys well looked liked everyone listed the movies I like as well
well if i only get to pick 3 i guess my first would have to be
the lost boys an all time classic
2nd interview with a vampire
3rd dracula 2000
but that just cuz i can only pick 3 but if i might ill add all my fave ones any way bram stoker dracula, shadow of the vampire, queen of the damned, the hunger, forsaken and yes even the wes craven vampiers and then there is the blade 3
There are so few truly GREAT vampire films out there, I believe though that if we all put our minds together we can create a great one ....who's in!? Awwww c'mon don't be shy....
Ok throwing them out there in no particular order
Lost boys,Interview with a vampire,Bram Stoker's Dracula,Vampire Hunter D,Vampire Princess,Queen of the damned
RIGHT ON dejiko i lovee Hellsing the animated series

Well I guess I'll jump in on this one too..
Of course.
Bram Stoker's Dacula. ( 1931 and 1997)
Vampire Journals..(Ted Niclalaou) Full Moon pictures. I love the story line. And the Darkness to it is just so Inviting...
My favorite's Salem's Lot ,Interview, Lost Boys, Underworls, Blade, Forsaken,Vampires(Meh)..Forsaken,Dracula 2000, Hunger, and all the others I forgot..
Old school...Draucla's Daughter( 1936 )
Son of Dracula.(Alucard) (1943 )
House of Dracula (1945 )
I actually have to agree with Cancer with Queen of the Damned and From Dusk Till Dawn.
Though I think a few scenes with Damned could've been longer, I was very impressed-- watched it the other day, actually.
original nosferatu
nosferatu with musictracks by type o negative
and finally christopher lee's dracula..
sorry folks...classics beat out digital effects any day hands down
id have to say my favorite vampire movies are
1. Queen of the damned
2. underworld
3. either Vampire Clan for the human emotion or interview with a vampire because im a fan of anne rice and the movie was pretty close to the book.
The lost boys is a good one. Keifer Sutherland is cool.
John Carpenter's Vampires: Los Muertos was quite good.
Salem's Lot: stephen king kicks serious ass.
my three favourites are:
Bordello of Blood from tales from the crypt
Queen of the Damned
Interview with the vampire
#1 The Hunger
#2 From Dusk till Dawn
#3 Underworld (unrated extended version)
#1 - Interview with a vampire. I've been watching this movie since I was little, and I believe it will always remain number one on my list.
#2 - Queen of the Damned. Its one of the most realistic movies I've seen in a while.
#3 - The Lost Boys. I don't know why, I just like it a lot.
I'm writing about vampires right now as well, and I expect it will turn out to be a script rather than a book. *crosses fingers* maybe one day it'll be mentioned here.
well i wud proberly say queen of the damned - underworld is also gud i cant wait 4 underworld 2
I love all the really old vampire movies dont know why. Like Vampire Circus and so on. Surprised none of Crade fans have mentioned Cradle Of Fear, FOR SHAME. Queen Of The Damned is class movie!
i agree with cancer. the first has got to be queen of the damned. ok, it's not as good as the book but film's rarely are but it's good great atmosphere, excellent music, great plot and some decent acting.
then as follows:
blade
underworld
lost boys
and last but not least my best freind is a vampire. ok. i'll give it's not a great vamp film but's it's one hell of a laugh!!
...i'm with taymos: the whole "Subspecies" series works for me! i love Radu! woowoo!
...next would have to be QotD, followed by IwtV.
Great thread.... And very hard to decide...
1 - Lost Boys- (can you get a better song to a start of a film? And the vampire 'clan'.. how perfect did they pull that off... mmhmmm
2- Near Dark - A beautiful twist to a story and the vampire evilness comming through perfectly
3- The Addiction - The best film i have seen that portrays a vampire that can go from being shy and feeding to live, to growing eager for more...
Living dead girl, rollins only good movie. from dusk till dawn, blew my shit away in the theater to see tom savini as sex machine, And ahh? last man on earth, big fan of the classics! come on vincent price is the shit!
i'd have to say that my faves are ....
Underworld, Interveiw, And Lost Boys.. they kick ASS. :)
I know you said top 3 but,
1. Near Dark
2. Bram Stoker's Dracula
3. Interview with the Vampire
4 Queen of the Damned
5. Nosferatu with music by Type O
OK I will stop with 5!
QUeen of the damned was pretty good.... but i agree with the guy way way way up there .. ^^^^ The plot wasn't the greatest .. or as he put it .. "SUCKS" haha.. good job.
