The lochness monster thread got me thinking about other species that have been "undiscovered" on this planet, and I've heard speculation on whether aliens are simply just another species of earth, while more advanced, can remain nearly undetected because they are so advanced?

Could they simply live underground undetected? Perhaps they were the first "evolved" species of this planet and then we came along and started wrecking the place, so they "fled to the hills". Perhaps these space ships are simply their way of traveling from where they are hiding?

I'd love to get your thoughts on this and whether you have heard this theory before or similar theories and if not, do you believe it might be possible?

really the theorys are endless and there are so maney different storys on the matter it just never ends. I remember when i was a kid looking into the sky and seeing a weirdly shaped thing in the sky almost cigar shaped and i never found out what it was. you know there could be maney things like this and maybe its best we didn't know even tho i think we should... anyways unsolved mysteries did a whole thing on alliens ^^.

well from what more i gathered it could be the dinosaur that lived in water that they talk about in history. if you look closey to its description it closely fits the charactoristics so this is just another possible theory of mine tho its not a very good one lol.

last time i was really baked i contemplated this and came up with 4-D beings who are effected by the 3-D surroundings and beings but dont have to participated in it unless they choose to.

Ohhh I love Aliens I live by a marine base and i often wonder.
Are they doing reverse engineering ? Are they doing a search in the ski with S.E.T.T.I. ? I beleieve we are not alone and I have often sat out side my house and see moving stars. I do not think they are gray with big eyeballs but rather like it has been mentioned.They look like us and could blend in.

There are so many areas of Earth that are still uncharted and untouched by current humans who knows what is out there.

I for one would love for there to really be aliens from another planet (as vast as the universe is who is to say theres not)
but I also believe there is still so many mysteries here on earth to explore

Personally, I believe of all the things we claim to understand maybe 2% is truth. Everything else is touch and go. Of course we havent discovered every living being on this planet -- we are physically challenged from extending our searches.
But, saying extra-terrestrial means not of this planet at all -- and that is a whole new ball of wax. We know next to nothing.

Cardewolf brought up a point with all of the new species being found on mother earth. We are seeing more from mother earth and I do feel that maybe with all of the mining and such that we are going to see more.
However, I do agree with Ade on this. How are we certain that maybe just maybe we are the ones that is out of place and that we are not the aliens to a point. Could it be possible that we are a race that was once on top of everything?

I believe there are other species on this plant that have yet to be discovered but I dont think aliens are one of them. I believe we are not alone in the universe that other races are out there.

We are currently discovering new species on this world, all the time. Think of this. After all this time, mankind doesn't know everything there is to know about our own planet, then we certainly do not not everything that transpires in the cosmos. We have to be pretty arrogant as a species to think that we are the only intelligent being in the universe. I think life out there exists. Whether we are their decendants, transplants, or failed experiments or originated here ourselves is up for speculation. But we are definately not the only kids on the block. The idea of being transplanted is interesting though. That could explain why certain people have psi powers. Perhaps they are just more in tune from whence we came, than most.

In line with Ade's post there was a TV series called 'Battlestar Galatica' it was along the same lines as Ade is going along. A fleet of spaceships fleaing from harm is racing towards earth which is a long lost tribe of their home.

If you plot future human evolution our bodies get smaller, eyes and heads larger, mouths smaller, uniform skin colour, less-no hair etc.
What if the "greys" (big head, grey and black eyes) are us but from the future, coming back to check out their uncivilized ancestors?

No I dont think that aliens are a part of this plant. I believe that there is heaps that we still have to descover on our plant but the same goes for outa space.

I've read that some have speculated that mars might have been our first home. If you add atomsphere to the planet, the plant is almost identical to earth. My astronomy professor told me the most essential element you need is carbon, and it's quite abundant in the universe.

there are heaps of species both plant and animals that have yet to be discovered. Or in some cases manufactured. For every species we wipe out another is found. I dont think ET is one of those. The universe is massive and for every species we have here there must be hundreds more out there.

It is well documented that the USA has an alien life form. Some say it is kept in area51. In the pass this was easierly passed of by the US government as people didnt want to believe in another species from outer space and having a larger technology then our own. Over the yr's the human race has become more adaptable and now we believe that things are more believable then they did say 30-50 yrs ago.

There are things we have yet to descover on this plant. There are still areas that we have not explored so there is a great possiblity that new life forms be found. Wether these be of ET nature is anyones guess.

There are places left undiscovered on the earth, we know that there are sea creatures that we've never been able to really examine before...I can see how there may be creatures living underground, under the earth, farther than we can go, that we have never, and probably will never discover.

Used to i did a good bit of reading on aliens and Roswell and other aspects of this subject but haven't in years.
When i was reading though i believe i honestly thought that it was possible that there were other lifeforces here on earth with the rest of us.

I've actually never thought about aliens in this point of view. You bring up a great point though!

If they are another Earth species but more advanced, it is possible that they left the planet when the climates were starting to change(i.e., after the Ice Age when the temperatures started rising in more areas across the world). With their advanced intelligence, they may have known these events were going to occur which is why they built their space-ships and left Earth.

If a race was imagined to exist in the hollows of the planet they would be under greater pressures then the surface they would , it could be imagined, need to be contained in some compression craft to surface.

Well considering that we know more about the solar system than our own ocean I believe it is very likely there are things out there still yet to be found. Also the amount of eye witnesses that say they see things that dont look to be the norm there has to be some truth to it. I also believe in aliens but that like a totally different story.

i have heard that the greys or dero come from underground city state called agharta.and originated for lemuria.

also there is a theory that humans came from mars and colonised earth.ive got a book which claims that the moon is a spaceship and its hollow.it says that moon rock is nothing like eart rock and points out that it dose not spin but keeps one face to earth and is unique in the solar sytem for this.

My theory is , If there are anything like aliens. They are just like us. I think we are survivors from a planet similar to earth , some stayed behind while we were sent to discover another planet to live on.
I think the race we came from is far more advanced , but may look the same as us. We lost contact . We started from scratch and evolved again.

Pretty interesting thread I believe we've had unknown creatures since the dawn of human kind, from the Paleolithic man to the first known civilization of Sumerians, It is remarkable how many of their ancient knowledge and technological advancements had a similar or impact to the one we had a decade ago, it is very unusual to believe that we grew the knowledge by just looking at the skies. We looked back on time to understand those planets we just discovered decades ago, and they did it without telescope or artifacts of that sorts, there must’ve being an outside influence in this knowledge by those times.

We do not we assume, that logically nothing or alien beings would be here, based on our own technoligy, yet microscopic life would be considered the same and dust particle from comets forming life would create alien plants and things.

All theories provided could in fact ring a certain truth to them, think of it this way, how do we positively know that there are not other living beings on other planets or even with in our own planet, even though the most suitable living conditions for our kind are found here on Earth, but what if there are species which do not necessarily have the exact same needs as we do in order to survive? What if there are species who can survive without our basic needs and still be more advanced than our own civilization? The Mayans were a very civilized community that "disappeared" how can any one be 100% sure that there weren't many other cultures also as advanced and that just happened to disappear? Can any body be positively sure that there wasn't something "alien" about them as well?

Earth as a whole has many on top of many different types of species that have yet to be discovered, how can anybody be really sure that what has been claimed to be "aliens" or "from outer space" really isn't a newer, or even an older more advanced species from our own "backyard" that has evolved at much more rapid pace than our own? Humans have a habit of creating hysteria over something they are unfamilar with and can not understand, perhaps the spotting of an "alien from another planet" is in fact one's way of grasping something they can not understand... kind of labeling it to be of "unknown origin" and dismissing it completely from one of our own planet's inhabitants could be the way an "alien" is seen to most humans when they catch a glimpse of something unknown?

I'm inclined to go with the theory that "aliens" are native to this planet, but it's more akin to native intelligent energy forms. All throughout our history, particularly in religious and mythological lore, are various accounts of encounters of all kinds with beings, but the cultural reference points change depending on time period and cultural beliefs.

I've seen it called "chimera", (spelling may be off.) and the idea is that someone living in the 16th century Ireland for instance, might have seen a Sidhe lord at a crossroad, or an maybe an Angel if they were Catholic. The same thing might be seen today, in the U.S. but be perceived as a spaceship or space man, or if encountered in Guatamala, be seen as either a Blessed Virgin Mary or a space man, depending on the individual.

It all comes down to the individual in question, on how this energy is interpreted by the brain, but something seems to be getting interpreted on a regular basis, and has been doing so since the very beginnings of civilization.

I've seen a few paranormal investigators put forth this position now, and they tend to research more than just one area of the paranormal..one researched monsters, UFOs, religious sightings, ghosts and poltergeists, where another researched primarily UFOs and ETs, but also noted a lot of ghost and poltergeist activity going on simultanously, but largely ignored and unreported by those researchers specifically considered "UFOphiles".

For the theory of native aliens hiding out from us courtesy of greater technologies....they actually might not need it. We only see and hear within a limited range, while the light and sound spectrums are much wider than we can percieve. If they exist outside those ranges, we'd never see or hear them, unless they crossed through the spectrums we can see or hear. This has been suggested as a possible explanation for why there have been UFOs picked up on radar while invisible to the naked eye.

John Keel writes fairly extensively in a couple of his books, about the UFO sightings during the Cold War Era. Several countries actually did accuse both the United States and U.S.S.R. of being behind the UFO phenomena, and in fact, the United States and U.S.S.R. accused each other of it as well. ( particularly the CIA and KGB.)

In some cases, such as the "ghost submarines", it was one or both of them sneaking around in foreign waters. However, part of what gave the UFO phenomena some small credibility was that after the Cold War ended, and both countries were able to compare notes a little bit on the subject, it sparked a craze particularly in Russia's scientific community. Apparently neither side was as guilty of being behind the phenomena as the other had believed.

He also talks about "Deros" which are robot aliens...and discusses the plausibility of underground UFO bases etc. (This too is actually a very old idea, with everything from the Sidhe to Native American tribal spirits coming from below ground.)

As for the Nazis....you'd be looking for the information on "Foo Fighters" of World War 2. Again, both the Allies and the Axis powers believed each other were behind these mysterious lights that would zip around the fighter planes during that time. Incidentally, it's never been proven (to my knowledge anyway,) that they were of a particular origin to any country involved, much less Germany.

Referencing Keel again, he made a strong argument on just this sort of thing. He recounts the story of his very first visit to the Point Pleasant W.Virginia area, where he'd run off the road in his car on a particularly rainy middle of the night on one of the back roads.

He was from New York, wore his hair a little on the long side and had a beard, and he was wearing a suit. He didnt stand out at all in New York looking like this in the 1960s, but when he went knocking on the door of a local resident of Point Pleasant....where suits were very uncommon, and so were beards and hair below the collar on a man....he shows up on foot, in the middle of the night....there was apparently some speculation as to whether or not he might be the Jersey Devil.

I guess it would depend on what type of aliens you are speaking of because they have been described in many ways and from various places. Some believe the Grays, which most people think of when speaking about aliens, are merely androids sent out on scientific exploration because it is too far for the real species which are thought to look like us to travel. There are so many theories. Some believe they are remnants of the Atlantis civilization that went into the earth and those that made bases under the oceans and other bodies of water. They could very well send out android type beings as well, who knows as I surely don't. There has been a trip planned for a long time to take a ship, one that can go through ice (from Russia) to look for the opening into the earth. Last I checked it kept being cancelled (Hollow Earth theory followers) Things have been found in the area of suspect floating in the water such as wooly mammoths, flora and fauna. There are theories that these beings are us traveling in time after we have basically destroyed all resources here and totally destroyed the earth for prime habitable living. They no longer can procreate and they are trying to fix the problem. There are so many theories I cannot count them on two hands. Lemuria is one of the many. My answer still is I don't know. There was a symposium on all of this held at MIT in the 90s by scientists who have no involvement normally with this topic. They felt there was enough evidence to warrant a closer look. They hired a writer to write down all the proceedings and they had many abductees in attendance. I have the book but never read it through so I don't know really what their conclusions were. There were others invited to it as well that endeavor in the area of ETs and Ufology. I would suspect it got panned...seems to be the nature of the beast. I think a lot of us would like to know this answer. Some relate much of the abduction anyway to night terrors/sleep paralysis. It doesn't account for all the other sitings that were not connected to sleeping. It would be interesting if they were from here but if they are truly as advanced as they seem I wouldn't come forward because we are a violent species and scare easily and would try to kill them or dissect them. This is my opinion so I don't know if we will ever find out at least I would say in the next hundred years or ever. They say there have been many civilizations that have ultimately been destroyed here and others rose to take their place. If there is any credence to that then perhaps we did expand into space and some are now coming back to see what happened here so much later.

i think the bioculture is on so many uncountable planets in universe which are suitable to getting heat of the type of earth. but civilizations we dont know may there be most advance than us thats why we are searching them. if they are capable of crossing gallaxies, believe me they are no threat to us coz they already developed to that level that we are not predator to them.

If life could in fact travel galaxies, why would they come to here to watch us when we can barely reach the surface of space, what do we have to offer aliens in order for them to stalk us?

Why would it be for food and malicious experiment? whos says is that or the only purpose they would come here? what are our interest on discovering new species in the deepest trenchs? why we study animals, enviroments, behaviors, habitats? why we study cultures and history? why we study everything? Not everything has to do with what material things we can get from others lifeforms, more of how does it works that intrigues the curious to look for. We don't eat what we study, observe or experiment. Those people who make documentary about lions,tigers or any animal, dont kill them after they stalk them with cameras and collars, they just observe and study, pretty much what we would do if we held the technology to visit any other alien planet with lifeforms.

WHY the hell would some "advanced" species be hidden among us? why at this point would they not help us to bail ourselves out of this mess that billions of years of evolved life on our planet and perhaps 10000 years of "civilization" has gotten humanity to?

i think if they somehow were among us they would not be interested in US... but perhaps in our resources. the earth we live on is a unique sum of rarer elements. perhaps they would use carbon for fuel... or use radon, uranium, titanium, or aluminum, etc for one application or another. maybe they would have a way to compress living matter into fossil fuels quickly (if for some absurd reason they used such wasteful and primitive means of energy). but i see no reason why they would just wait around. there reaction would possibly be INDIFFERENT due to our destructive stupidity that i have been eluding to... "um - well kt426, these ones look hopeless... let's move on to the next possibility... these ones are moving towards extinction on their own"

There's alot of accounts of warnings, both in the religious sightings and the alien contactee stories. So much so in fact, that they generally fall into one of two categories.

1. Warnings against the use of nuclear energy and nuclear weapons.
2. Warnings of Environmental disaster.

Though I agree with you, I dont think they've any intention of stepping in an "saving" the human race. For one thing, I dont think they physically CAN. And secondly, I agree with the sentiment of why would they.

Most humans cant treat each other decently on an internet server, where it really doesnt matter or count. The only time we seem capable of it, is in the face of a major catastrophe, and even then, it's probably 40 60 ratio on between those rising to the occasion of helping each other, and those who turn predator and grab what they can.

And while for the most part, yeah I think people do try to add some meaning to their lives, through a belief in gods, aliens or vampires etc, and see nothing wrong with it, I also know there's some people out there who will use it to claim a sense of power over others. It really comes down to the individual in question though.

While some of it may be nothing more than a placebo effect, I think there is still Something out there (or maybe in there.) but we also may never be able to define it. Not through science, and not through any "Divine Revelation". And just because I feel it is there, doesnt mean it will save us from ourselves.
