Okay folks this could be an interesting topic but a bit more elaboration on how you chose or were chosen by your animal spirit and such, would be needed for this to evolve into a decent discussion.

So please explain yourself or I'll close this down. What we have so far could be covered in a poll...

Well,honeslty ,I went and took a quiz after reading the post.But I was a little suprised at the result because I have had some very unforgettable and strange encounters with Owls..

My chinese zodiac is the tiger. But I'm always around & drawn to the hawk. They even follow my car .

I believe mine is the deer which kinda makes sence I see them in my dreams all the time. I tend to notice them and I usually can get quite close.

My current spirit guide is a raven. In the past, I've had a rabbit and a wolf. Both seem to have left me, however. Now that I have changed, whether for the better or worse, I don't know, my spirit guide has changed also. The raven has come to me now, and I have to say that I enjoy its company.

Although ravens are not native to where I live, there is one around here that I've seen, and so have other people that are close to me. It is not a crow, everyone agrees.

mine 's not all glorious like wolf etc but it's one that's the one that choose me it's a moongoose

there are a lot of deer and rabbits around my house... always this one bunny that is always nibbling the grass outside my bedroom window...

I am not sure if its my animal spirit, but I've always been drawn to dolphins, lame, yes I know. A dolphin was my first tattoo, and if you've ever had the opportunity to swim with one, and look it straight in the eye, you would know there is a higher power out there. They are so calming and so intelligent. Perhaps thats why they are now used as therapy for mentally challenged and ADHD children. I've always just felt a real connection with them.

My experience is very similar. I would have to say that mine is a sea turtle.

There is just an unexplained joy that I feel when I see one. I have surrounded my self with them in my house and I plan on having my next tatoo be a family of sea turtles representing me, my new son, and my husband.

My best experience was seeing a sea turtle in the wild during a snorkeling trip on one of our cruises.

You have certain animal guides your whole life, but you also have other ones that come to you as you grow up, because they come to you in different phases of your life, and depending on what you are going through. They change.

One of mine for life is mouse/hamster. =)

When I had one of my Reiki attunements, I saw a white owl. That is another.

As I was learning some of the Shaman training, I started listening to what people's totems were in my mind.

By all the books I have read mine is suppose to be the snake. Dont know if it is or isnt.

Hmm , if its something that comes out of perspective i would have to say the dragon!

but theres any way of knowing that?

I dont know my wife has a book which says my animal is the snake something to do with the Chinese birth dates.

I have two. One is a wolf and the other is a jaguar.

Every picture I've ever seen of a wolf speaks to me in some way. The sound of a wolf's howl is haunting and beautiful... I can't help but want to join in. Even if it's not my animal spirit, I know I'm definitely tied to the wolf in some way.

I've always been a cat person and the one that comes to me in my dreams/visions is a jaguar. Often it's hidden in the shadows, but it's definitely there. It's quite an interesting feeling to be captured by those yellow eyes....

i have had him come to me in several dreams ...
and have seen one on MORE than one occasion... even though they are not native to my area :)

I also think I have two. One being a wolf and the other being feline and now a certain feline.

A feline cause I have always been a cat person as well. In my dreams I see all kinds of cats be they domestic house cats to leopards etc. I seem to be able to communicate with them.


The wolf just seems to call to me. I don't know how to explain it. I find them to be beautiful mysterious creatures.

This is a subject I woul;d love to look into as I honestly don't know what my animal spirit is.

I would love to go through the natives ritual that helps them get intouch with their animal guide

Hmmm. i would say a frog. because I think they are awesome and i love them lol.

I'd be tempted to say wolf but saying that I'm also really drawn to Jaguars .

Wolf, because it seems to come to me in dreams and meditation periods, and as my guide I do believe in the help it gives in some of the directions in my life.

mine is a wolf. Growing up, I was always facinated by black panthers, then one day it all became about wolves. And has been ever since. My only tattoo is of a wolf howling at the moon.

They are my spirit, as they keep me healthy, fresh, and strong on my journey.

With out my animal spirits I would not be able to live.

I actually have several that have crossed my path and that I have worked with. But my main one is the Cheetah and other exotic cats. I have been dealing a lot with the wolf and owl as of late. For the native american heritage though I have seven totems.

I believe mine to be a hawk or falcon. Because I am VERY observant. And I just feel very connected to them.
Maybe because I'm an Aquarius. Aquarians are fixed air. And the animals for fixed air are birds and cattle. Ans I definitely don't want it to be a cow. lol

I was told mine is a Raven and they do seem to follow me around.

ive always been drawn to horses and cats and ive always been able to hold or ride those that people have claimed to be "wild" but i seem to be able to calm down horses and cats....and whenever im around them, they seem to do the same to me

I did the guardian of the dream world spell my freshman year, after my mentor instructed me. In the dream where they are supposed to be revealed, (spirit animal) I saw a wolf creeping up on me, and then as it was about to harm me, a dragon killed it, and then, it (the dragon) turned to me and a whole conversation was in its eyes. So, mine is a Dragon, I suppose, no matter how stupid that may seem

The horse is mine. I've always been abnormally good with them. I'm able to "speak" with them in a way they'd understand. If I was ever in trouble, my own horse would be there to protect me. When he died, I was lost. I believe it is actually his spirit that guides and protects me now. ^_^

I have a few , mainly Fox and Panther. Those are the two I work with mostly and most recently Panther has been called upon daily it seems . Strength is what panther is used to assist with.

and Turtle's I have found many of them hurt, I help heal them and put them back out but it's strange how Butterfly's and Turtle's always seem to be near me

Mine is a female calico cat named Shayd. I found her on the side of hte road as a kitten and raised her. SHe refuses to leave my side and is always there for me. When I cry she jumps into my lap and dries my tears with her tail. It's cute cuz she'll touch her nose to mine as if she's trying to tell me it's ok.

I truly believe that everyone has guides both animal and other beings of "light" if you will.
My main guardian is the dragon - it is my defender and my guardian and keeper. I also get assistance from the wolf and birds of prey. The bless me with there presence for which I am most thankful.

I was once told mine was a wolf, but have never really felt the spirit or presence.

I have always loved cats and I can somehow almost always call them to me. Wild or shy or just housepets. Rekon this has something to do with it.

My animal spirit is a Raccon but in the past a artic wolf was my guide/spirit. Something changed it and I really dont understand what did.
Now the Raccon, named Brair f.y.i., has been guiding me through my life and has helped me with my "five finger discounts" if you will.

i went by this wicca book and did the spell and had a dream about dogs,a german shepard and a golden retriever.

Shadowdraven and anyone that has does not know about their animal guide or spirit. Look within your inner self is there animal that calls to you day or night? Is there an animal that is always by your side that you can tame or that can tame your self? The animal guide or spirit normally chooses you and not the other way around. Feel free to messge me if you need more to go on.....

you have made me wonder, I have been planing a tattoo for a while a cross my back a huge magestis Grey wolf with gold pentagrams tide onto him tail. this wolf was my design to keep me safe always, could this be my animal spirit and i never noticed it before?

In my old age (of nearly 19) mine is the everyday cat. Like a house cat. My aunt who I live with has a cat that likes no one, no one can touch him, pet him, or even see him most the time. Except me! I have always had "a way" with cats, that's how I know. Even the most unfriendly ones warm up to me.
