Ok, we've all heard of the term "Awakened", so to me this term means coming into knowledge of your vampyric natures and skills, and i was wondering if anyone could expound upon it anymore?

I dont think it is merely just vampire senses... it could be awakening to ones gifts that are not of a vampire kind as an example.

Yea, it's not a vamp term to me. It's for being spiritually aware and mindful of life. =)

i am used to the vampiric term. to me it means to become aware of your true nature. most that i know dont believe that a vamp is made, but rather "awakened".

im familiar with the 3 kinds myself.

I have researched a few sites regarding awakening and of all of them they have not differed in what they have said regarding the awakening process. The following is what I have found:

Yes Jamie, I agree with you but they were asking about vampiric awakening so that is why I found the definition so that they could better understand what it was.

As for other things I feel that it is a sense of your higher self. Being at peace with who you are as a person and your beliefs.

To be being awakened is filling that part of yourself that you know is empty. In a sense feeling completed

Awakened

This can mean a number of things, but to me it is what you experience when you have been turned. It can also be a way af saying you've discovered somthing you didn't know you could do, My powers have been "awakened". There are also other more litteral terms but they for the most part do not have anything to do with what we talk about on this site.

Awakenign to me is the realization of our inner turned & know any new realm and or realization of our nature turned us to new resolve that has changed our inner majorly and inner do adopt that kinship inside us. its occur when first time we come aware of obe. it happen first time when our dire grows dynamicly for sucking any type of energy. it happen when we hung to any thing in psychic exercises or spiritual analyzing.

some peepal awaken divinely and some peepal awaken darkly and some peepal awaken with totally new knowlge which turn their mind completely to look upontheir life and look at the world differently and new way.

This has been a subject I have come across before. Awakenings seem to be a personal experiance with another as the catalyst. Where someone shows them a part of thier personality or character they have not been able to comprhend on thier own.

As for me. I have never gone through what most would call an Awakening. I have always been predatory. I have always been as i am. I wore a mask for a long period of time inorder to make other around me more comfortable. But have come to terms with myself and am now unafraid of what I am. Infact one would say proud even. LOL But this I believe does not constitute an "Awakening".

For me being awakened is finding something that unlocks who I am and completing myself. I have and am still on my journey of awakening my true self, and unlocking parts of myself that I hid away leaving me incomplete. What it may lead to I don't know but look forward to what my journey holds for me

I am newly awakened and it has been both enlightening and the most difficult thing I have ever been through. The sleep cycle and the thirst is the hardest for me but I am making it.

The term "awakening" is commonly used in the vampire community as a way to describe the onslaught of symptoms associated with vampirism (see, 2* Vampire Guide 301: General Info for general physical information on vampires). Awakening generally happens between the ages of 17-24 and is different for each person.

There is no checklist of signs, nor guaranteed order of events. Some people experience a change in sleep patterns (often times going from sleeping nights to sleeping - or wanting to sleep - days); some people experience a change in eating habits (some people experience a decrease in appetite, others an increase especially in high-iron content food like red meat and nuts, or a change in thirst); some people experience changes in light sensitivity and general sensory awareness (things can suddenly seem too loud, or too bright).

As each person is unique, so to is each person's awakening. The largest obvious change is the introduction to the "thirst" or "hunger" which defines a vampire's condition (see "Alone" for a personal look at fighting hunger).

I think that here there are many terms for awaking, could mean the vampire sense as being turned, or term of knowledge or spirtual. to me it is more of the enlightning sense of knowledge on many aspects here on VR.

I agree totally with you, cadrewolf; I was going to mention awakenings, in a general sense, as there are many other kinds of physical, mental, cultural and spiritual awakenings that people can experience; however, since the writer happened to be specific about "vampiric natures and skills" in his post, I kept it to that particular definition.

I do adhere to that awaking in vampiric sense would be gain of knowledge an understand about the lore on all aspects, knowledge in the sense of seeing ideas that have never been brought to my attention, small details i have overlooked or knowledge henceforth of. awaking like the sense of movies, to me no i did not die an awake as a vampire, but my knowledge of the subject and certain takes on the culture my eyes did awake to say. "awaking" vampire sense needs to be left on the silver screen.

It's not limited to vamp for me. Any realization can be considered an awakening. Whether it's reading, working out, or sipping whiskey.

awakened: a change in ones perception or realization of the world around you that is sudden, shocking, and profound....similar to a jarring wake from sleep in its gravity. IMHO, some spiritualize such moments because thier brains have chemically misfired on them. A sort of temporary insanity if you will. Just my opinion mind you.

In fiction, this vampiric "Awakening" refers to a vampire victim's mortal death and undead re-birth as a "vampire" following a vampire's bloodsucking attack.

In modern-day usage, the "Awakening" usually refers to an alleged moment or event of self-realization (self-delusion?) from which moment a quite-mortal Human wanna-be identifies him/herself thereafter as a "vampire." Usually this is accompanies by a claimed "thirst" for blood.

However in actual Slavic history, throughtout which vampire tradition "...there are no bloodsuckers" (Romanian Professor, Dr. Sabina Ispas) and "...almost no stories about blooddrinking" (http://www.sanguinarius.org/articles/vampdef.shtml), no such accounts of "Awakening" are found, whether fictionally caused by actual vampires or ... self-imposed.


Oh... to be sure, there is indeed an actual and quite factual "vampiric" Awakening that occurs in the historical accounts. However, to understand what exactly this is would require a complete re-examination of the actual Slavic accounts and a thoughtful re-evaluation of who and what the Slavic Vampire actually was... and still is. As such would undoubtably take us too far afield of this forum thread's scope to attempt here and would most likely also not be in the vested interests of most here who far prefer adulating and emulating fiction above fact, I shall resist the temptation to comment further thereon.

It means opening your eyes and coming awake from being asleep. After or before dreaming or not dreaming.

I prefer the word "sentient" versus "awakened".... that way, there is no confusion, in my mind, as to what I've awoken to....

My guess would be, being enlightened or aware of things not previously known before the experience.

i am newly awakened and its is a wonderful yet fusterating at times to me it is when you recongize your inner self and embrace powers new and different that have been held away and is well awakened

To be awakened, to me, has two meanings.

The first is more along the lines of I think what you where asking.

To come into the knowledge of self, understanding that which is within you and letting it mold you into the individual you are.
Seeking the deeper meaning to your life and attaining the goals that you see in your future to obtain. To know your potential and to raise yourself up to that level.


The second.. :D To be awakened means to hear the alarm clock go off in the morning at the time I set it for the night before. :D

um i think it means that you finally open your eyes fully and see everything as it is and not as it is portrayed to you.

being awakened could apply to anything that you just came into realization about, or new knowledge about something that totally made the peices all fit together.

Though I was psychic vampyre from a long time
and my psych led me to dire for different energies time to time and to acquire that knowedge of suckingthose energies i learned from literatures and did exercises even autovampirism of sang part.

but i am truely awaken in energies part when one day i was spatially in astral and hung there my subcoscious locked for more than three days and could not come to active state so long. i realsed this turned me to total beast barking with load o fspace energies and did not findthe way to escape thsi latent subconscious boost. after that i did rely on space energy ad grown a technique my own to come out of subconscious boost locking us hung in the spatial position.

I that time merged into spaceto come out of that state and did meditate on it.

this rescued me from that position, ad i went on my duty in drawn position.

thanks to my vampire mom on net she give me courage and patience to deal with this matter and shown the maternal wisdom and blessed me in that situation.


my spiritual awakening was clear cut oe that was my first astral which awaken me the method how to come out of body it was due to learnign the Holy Geet i did sleep andwas in half sleep mode.


it awaken me a little that ii concentrate on things in my body, it can make it happen. but i did fear from that and did not try after that. its harmful and warned situation learnig how to turn of elements of the body to ou wishes.

its also concentration base... ts mixture of senses and feelings expansion.

To me awakening means, being more aware of things. most people will think of vampires, but I know my sister who is a born again christian (the only christian in my branch of the family) had an awakening of sorts when she decided to be a christian, she apparently felt like somthing smashed inside her releasing as she called it gods love.

To me, it is being more aware about things, being in tune with the world around you, and developing a sort of self preservation, and realising it is ok to be who you are not being afraid to be yourself, basicaly realising those who try to upset you for it, aren't worth the oxygen they breath

i agree that this is more than awakening as a vampire. for me it is opening your eyes, and being enlightened by things you are not aware before.

it is knowing what is beyond, what is the between the lines, and then understanding it without prejudging.

It was my third day of continuing Geeta, my Grandma was on death strature and my boss forcefuly gave me the paid leaves as he understood that my grandma was on death strature and that day at afternoon when i did complete seventh part. in uderstanding the all seven parts of Holy Geeta i was analysing the cypher may what th deepst meaning it be and this gave me latent state to get a sleep. I decided to sleep in afternoon and start reading it again. I was time to time going to My Grandma's room she got her eyes closed most of the time and her water bad was too deceiving her physical body and mom was nursing her and helping her to get heal a little.

that day when i am in little my eyes closed i worried about my grandma and try to feel her pain. for this i concentrated to connect her and concentrated on my self if that state of pain i am getting the things go to the stag of my grandma what the pain i would get.

i did concentrate on this matter on my body that if my body forming the puss due to death strature ( inability to move own ) what pain i will get.

surprisingly in my half sleep position i did see my intestine walls were forming the pus and after few time ( minutes ) it started expelling the puss and suddenly i felt that the all canals are started forming the pus and intestine already started expelling the puss in the canal and that time i was moving in my canals suddenyl came out of my body and i saw my body clearly sleeping on the bed and geeta was near to my head. and I wondered i saw everythign of the room the room my perent left silence due to i was sleeping and my brother and sisters did not come in nor my wife that i msut not be disturbed of sleep coz i was reading the Geeta to understand. i do not sleep in day time. but those eight day i fell to sleep in day time.

I wondered on my body and it was first wonder to me in the world and i started checking myself from one ft away then from zoom 7 ft up from the air and then from head side and then leg side then right side then left side. while doing this i was aware of th puss was forming in my body painlessly and expelling into intestine and other cannals its started forming and suddenly the waves of thought struck me that i am husband and dad of my kid and they are after me and if i die their position will be mierable in the world coz attachments and relation changes in thsi world frequently if the person due to which they are related to other person.

this shocked me and i stood back immeditately just like as if in cadet exercise i am given command from sleep position to sit up electrically.

after that many days my stool was of green colour it was not at all due to any feeding. bt its due to conscious formed that like that and those few days my tummy was not good and i was feeling its bad stumoch and some thing winely inside the tummy or puss inside the tummy and tried to rescue it. but believe me to form it it took only 25 minutes of latent concentration and to cure it it took 5 days and if I would ignore my family ocnscious that day for 20 minutes more, i was dead body and live no more.

in this case i was awaken that we are different from our body and may body die but we remain undead. and more than that it did lesson me the obe knowledge and i use it in obe. its not the bookish and different from the bookish and did practice on it with the bookish knowledge of astral projection and this earned me easiect way to gain subconscious boost and with much mass of the fourth dimension and conscious. but if we do regulerly we must do otehr exercises too regulerly so that subconscious get balanced with gross conscious. or we sick and peepal will laugh on usthat this person is psycho. i do it otenly once i gained it learnt it and used it. this my awakenign gave me the benefits of the realm and + many knowledges of the realms to accomodate with the elements and etc and more and more.

you believe it or do not believe it. its does not matter me and i am centered to my awareness of happenigns with me and these happenings brings me quest or knowledge and realm. the days i was reading Geeta for my grandma, ( we do have this hindu code in my community that at teh end time of the person we do read holy books and mostly Geeta so the oassing soul get benefitted). i wasn't thinking as the way of subject psych or the way psychic student. but it earned me the psychic knowledge.

Levity aside - being "awakened" means different things to different people based on their life experiences. The one thing they have in common is a sense of epiphany - that you suddenly "get it", that things now finally "make sense" leaving you with a broader view of yourself and your role in the world.

I already told that i do not believe in and do hate to reduce the aura of otehr being. I do love they full of aura. I do not deprive of their aura. co aura in the spheres of theworld is in plenty most.... I saw it by gazing in vision on it.

Awakening to me is an absolute realization, I do not feel that it is vampiric alone.

I don't think it has anything to do with just vampiric nature. I think it's also mortal, and spiritual as well. In other words, you can wake up from a deep sleep, and I would consider that "Being awakened." But also, you can come to an awakening of your own spiritual sense as well.

I think that it's not necessarily applied to those of us on VR that are vampyres but it could be a spiritual awaking as well.

Personally I do not believe in the term "awakening", it is a simple way of saying..."Here I am". If you were born the way of the vampire, you know it by way of instinct. No one can really teach you when you know they do not share the same instincts with you. It is not a vampiric trait by any means, but it is most commonly used with that namesake.

Other societies do have awakenings, such as the Native Americans with their "Coming of age ceremonies", same with the Australians with their "walkabouts". Same with the esoteric practitioners with their rituals.

Though many who claim the title of vampire think they either have been or need to become "awakened" to be something they probably do not realize they are anywho. But, if you have the instinct to know you are...You have already "awakened" from day one of your birth. Which is why I do not believe in the "awakening" process. I think of it as another roleplay term. Such as the term "mundane." I am by no means a roleplayer, but I rather like the term "mundane." It kind of rolls off the tongue better then the term "human" does.

But no, I do not like nor use the term "awakening." To me it is very patronizing. Why do certain individuals like to patronize themselves by using this term openly? If you are who you are...Then AGAIN, it is instinct. You simply do not need to be "awakened" to realize this fact.

The term "Awakening" is found only in vampire fiction (books, movies, etc.) and refers exclusively to a vampire's victim undergoing the process of change from mortal Human to "undead" vampire (e.g., the lovely portrayal of such as seen in the "Louis" character in "Interview with the Vampire"). Understandably, therefore, as such vampire accounts are fictional so also is the term, itself.

Simply deciding at some point to begin living the lifestyle of a fictional vampire does not equate to "awakening" from a mortal Human existence to an immortal "undead" existence... which is, again, fictional only.

This said, yet there is in true "vampirism" (as defined in the original historical accounts) wherein an sensual-emotional transformation or "awakening" does occur between a "vampire" and his female consort(s) who, following their days and nights together that involve no blood drinking or biting yet do involve "feasting" (from when the term "vampire" originates) is truly "awakened" to her/their full sensual and emotional potential that had previously laid dormant within her/them.

the word awakening is in yoga too...

its the same, its awakening of cosncious and awakening of subconscious. most powerful is awakening of kundalini. kundalini when awaken, makes entity among most powerful in the cosmos. coz it open third eyes and cosmic power in direct form enebled to the person in the form of kndalini force (kundalini = cosmic energy force).
Its beyond even magic.

To me it is when someone wakes me from my sleep. Gods I hate that

i agree, that the term isnt jsut for vampyrism. there are various other spiritualities that use the term. many neo-shamanic, and new age based spiritualities have DNA activations which they also call awakenings. when a shaman hears teir call or "taped" its also called awakening. im sure rekki also will use the term. most spiritualites that evolve themselves in energy work tend to use the term.

I was vague, my post means, every day I awake is facinating to me, see I had a serious close call, just the process of greeting a new day is awaking to me.
