Whether real or fictional, who in your opinion is the most evil villain ever?
Me, I'd have to say Skynet from Terminator. Being a computer network, is has no remorse and killed billions.
Please be sure to include why you think so. Thanks ~Meeper
I was also thinking along the lines of someone or something with no remorse...like the aliens in the Alien saga.
Any any human, or human-like creature that is totally sociopathic, ie the Joker, for example.
Skynet would be a power that would halt the human race even today.
Aliens like the shows a predator so advnaced and yet one purpose to kill and replenish the world. much like zombie plagues.
Real would be mass murders, who get their jolly off others suffering.
I would have to say either davros from doctor who or the Master from doctor who because both of them would rather die then live in a cheerful world they wanted to cause pain and suffering for the doctor.
Hitler, to order the mass murder of an entire race and to be able to convince thousands of people to go along with it. That is evil incarnate to me.
Of course many ppl and former leaders, such as Hitler, were really bad persons. But I'd have to say that the worst person would be someone who did what he/she did without thinking they did it for something that was good.
I mean, Hitler thought he was doing something good. Please do not get me wrong, I'd gladly go back in time and shoot Hitler in the head before he killed so many.
But, for example, Stalin could kill for personal gain because he was so paranoid.
Any person from the history of the world, who did horrible things without thinking they were doing it for the greater good (However absurd their idea about that might be), would in my opinion qualify as the most evil villain ever.
Here we go with the Hitler, Every leader that kills in the name of "freedom" or a higher purpose yet interest is the same, and as for the convincing thousands of people, US convince million and we have killed around a million in Iraq alone and thousands if not millions in many other wars for dumb interest and reasons, and Im not even talking about the religions this time cause you would find how dumb some can be. Everyone that thinks Hitler is the most evil viallain ever will have to read a little more and think more, is not hard, good or evil is a scale that is measured in the eye of the beholder as well, He did kill many innocent people, thats very very bad, and no he did not killed a whole race, they are still Jewish people in the world, but so we have many other things that fight for "God or Freedom" things that makes it sound like we are doing the great thing, I think that is worst than killing innocent people, intoxicating their own mind thinking is good and they are doing something great and killing at the same time, later when they sit down and are old they understand what they did or most of them (actual thinkers) If that would be the case every US voter is a most villain people ever cause we choose to accept what they do up there. And when they do something different than promised they all whine why they keep doing it over and over.
I still go with Hitler...and some really close runner ups: Pol Pot, Ide Amin, Stalin, etc. Sure these guys all came up in the ranks proclaiming 'freedom' and the like...and look what happened...
Megolomaniac mass murders= bad.
In my opinion the worst villian by far is "personal choice." Hitler had personal choice to go after the Jews and to start the holocaust.
MELISSA HUCKABY, The Killer of Little Sandra Cantu. (8 yrs)
The man that goes under the name of JESUS.
He made millions and millions of people go to war in the name of his religion.
Thats bad
I'm going to post this just to make certain no one chooses to derail this thread with crossing lines.
Andie- I actually really appriciate your comment there- although I view it more as those that missed the point of his teachings that did the evil, not the man himself. What's the old saying, "good intentions pave the road to hell"?
That said, remember folks there is a fine line with both religion and politics- so keep your comments neutral and not regarding either religious belief or political stand points. Play nice and we'll have an awesome discussion :)
Andie, You are a person that have the right to speak your mind under the First Amendment, but, to say that Jesus, himself, create that enormous amount of Killing, is not true. My opinion. You are comparing Hitler with Jesus. Hitler gave order to destroy the jews, Jesus never gave an order to destroy a human being. Now, his doctrine was changed thru time, to make a majority of human benefits from his words. By changing the words, you can change the meaning of the message. So, sorry we don't agree.
The man that goes under the name of JESUS.
He made millions and millions of people go to war in the name of his religion.
Thats bad
Humans go for war v's other Humans. And since there is 'no evidence' for the bible is God's word, then there is 'no evidence' for Jesus having his own religion.
"Ourselves"... The cruelty that we impose upon each other every day no matter how subtle (i.e., envy, lust, anger, ect...), we are the ones who destroy lives of those around us.
I have to agree with ya Doru, anyone of us could be the next mass murderer, not directly, but you never know what happened after you cut that guy off in traffic...so to speak...it's as if we truly are all connect in such a profound way that one too many leaning the wrong way and oops there goes another rubber tree plant.
Solomon Grundy. His grammar was a curse upon make-believe civilization.
The term villain is more in line with fictional characters not real life people.
For the fictional world I would say...Lex Luthor for DC
for Marvel I would say Magneto
As for the real world...anyone that kills for pleasure or joy of watching someone die.
Wow to narrow it down to one I might say Jigsaw :O) but there are so many great ones...for now I'll say Jigsaw cause he's intelligent and twisted/sadistic and tries to teach his victims a lesson, in the most ununiform and cruel manner possible, he surely got his point across.
Jigsaw never actually killed anyone...he just gave them a choice.Amanda is the one that went too far and set up the traps to kill.
I still think if enuff of us fall within the same dire thought, along the same lines as mass prayer heals, we can create an overload in the system that seeks the weakest link, i. e., person, and someone goes ape shit..we just all part of one big grid..this is my train of thought anyways. But, if we going for just going 'name that villain', I'd have to say santa claus..
Okay well its my opionion and the thread is that of our perceptions on which is evil, if you wanna judge everyones post in here, you can say everyones is wrong in one way or another :O)
Just saying I find Jigsaw evil, cause of his intelligence, his sharp mind and evil ways in which he wished to teach others a lesson. Never did I say he was evil cause he killed. You don't need to be an evil villian cause you are a killer. Look at Charles Manson.
Having personal issues are we??
I said he isn't a killer...never said something negative about your post.
There is a thin line between genius and insanity...and some cross it more then others.Hannibal Lecter would be "EVIL"if you wanted to throw the intelligent side of people to be evil.
Albert Fish is one too, look at this letter he wrote to a women and how he got captured...
"Dear Mrs. Budd. In 1894 a friend of mine shipped as a deck hand on the Steamer Tacoma, Capt. John Davis. They sailed from San Francisco for Hong Kong, China. On arriving there he and two others went ashore and got drunk. When they returned the boat was gone. At that time there was famine in China. Meat of any kind was from $1-3 per pound. So great was the suffering among the very poor that all children under 12 were sold for food in order to keep others from starving. A boy or girl under 14 was not safe in the street. You could go in any shop and ask for steak—chops—or stew meat. Part of the naked body of a boy or girl would be brought out and just what you wanted cut from it. A boy or girl's behind which is the sweetest part of the body and sold as veal cutlet brought the highest price. John staid [sic] there so long he acquired a taste for human flesh. On his return to N.Y. he stole two boys, one 7 and one 11. Took them to his home stripped them naked tied them in a closet. Then burned everything they had on. Several times every day and night he spanked them – tortured them – to make their meat good and tender. First he killed the 11 year old boy, because he had the fattest @$$ and of course the most meat on it. Every part of his body was cooked and eaten except the head—bones and guts. He was roasted in the oven (all of his @$$), boiled, broiled, fried and stewed. The little boy was next, went the same way. At that time, I was living at 409 E 100 St. near—right side. He told me so often how good human flesh was I made up my mind to taste it. On Sunday June the 3, 1928 I called on you at 406 W 15 St. Brought you pot cheese—strawberries. We had lunch. Grace sat in my lap and kissed me. I made up my mind to eat her. On the pretense of taking her to a party. You said yes she could go. I took her to an empty house in Westchester I had already picked out. When we got there, I told her to remain outside. She picked wildflowers. I went upstairs and stripped all my clothes off. I knew if I did not I would get her blood on them. When all was ready I went to the window and called her. Then I hid in a closet until she was in the room. When she saw me all naked she began to cry and tried to run down the stairs. I grabbed her and she said she would tell her mamma. First I stripped her naked. How she did kick – bite and scratch. I choked her to death, then cut her in small pieces so I could take my meat to my rooms. Cook and eat it. How sweet and tender her little @$$ was roasted in the oven. It took me 9 days to eat her entire body. I did not fuck her tho I could of had I wished. She died a virgin."

No personal issues, just merely stating my post was a matter of opinion and we each perceive evil in our ways and thus our definitions of it will and always have varied. Some find the Joker in the dark night to be the most evil, I most certainly do not. Others may find the the Cloverfield monster to be the most evil, and so on and so forth...noone is wrong is all I am saying :O)
DARKWOLFMAN: you would pick Magneto as the worst villain in the marvel u? what about Doctor Doom or Red Skull? they are waaaay more evil than Magneto. Recall the events of the original Secret War miniseries where The Beyonder placed Magneto with the heroes because their desires were similar? Magneto does what he does basically because he fears a second Holocaust with mutants as the victims. Doctor Doom wants to rule the world because he believes he is the most superior being on the planet and we all should bow to him (and if that meddling Reed Richards dies in the process, well so much the better). Also, Doctor Doom is the bad assiest villain in the Marvel U.
I find Galactus to be not "Evil", but for awesome I go with him, Eating Plantes ?! Evil though ?? I have to think on that for awhile..
How about Unicron from transformers he devours entire worlds to .
In the original 1980,s film he gets killed using the matrix , In the new animated series optimus prime and megatron team up to kick his arse . In the armarda series they try and bring him back i don,t know if they succeed i dont have the whole collection . Their always trying o bring him back to life . I think he,s back in the new film " Revenge of the fallen " He just refuses to die , in the true fashion of the transformers.
Josef Mengele - Philosophy and Medicine conducted Human exsperements at Auschwitz in world war 2, a nazi party member he did studys on twins children sewing them together as in siamese twins. He was also injecting eyes to change colour, he sent children under 5ft 2 to the gas chamber, he is given the nick name Angel of Death
I am going with Doru on this one..... his words:
"Ourselves"... The cruelty that we impose upon each other every day no matter how subtle (i.e., envy, lust, anger, ect...), we are the ones who destroy lives of those around us.
Every day we do something against our own fellow man. We are constantly at war about something. And as many of you know, this carries over to the online world as well. It will never stop online or offline. It is constantly ripping people apart. I could write a very long response but I won't. You all know what I mean.
The Take-or -be - had mentality seldom settles for mutual benifit.
The Intent of a character makes the villian, " evil" is very restrictive, if every villian was "Evil" comic books would have choked. Johnny Homicidal Maniac .. Depraved!! Death in darkhorses sandman. Out side the box evil and holy are misnomers.. Even some of the " good guys" are evil in the new comic evolution.
In real life Doru answer really hits the mark, the human race and our cruelty upon this planet and towards others. Like stated in The Matrix movie, we are a virus upon this planet we spread or vial to every point on it.
You reminded me of a top 100's list I read on ign.com a week ago.I posted the link.
http://comics.ign.com/top-100-villains/
This is who was #100:
MODOK
How can you not love a villain whose name is an acronym for Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing? One of the more bizarre looking characters in the Marvel Universe (and that's saying something), AIM technician George Tarleton found himself transformed into a living computer by the group he worked for--with a giant, mutated head, and the need to be fitted into a hover-chair in order to stay mobile.
With mental abilities, comprehension and memory skills far beyond normal men, MODOK quickly proved to be a powerful presence, whose own goals caused him to kill his AIM masters and take control himself. In the process, he became a notable supervillain threat, though one not as strictly tied to a single hero or team as most. Indeed, MODOK has fought everyone from Captain America to Iron Man to Hulk and even Namor and Dr. Doom along the way.
MODOK has returned from the dead more than once and rebelled against subsequent attempts by AIM to once more gain control of him. While his physical nature makes him easy to mock, his mental powers have proven to be deadly for many who have dared cross him. Recently he's been more pro-active than ever, gathering "MODOK's 11" in a scheme that ultimately gave him a new base of operations and followers.
And
Magneto was #1:
Like many characters of his era, Magneto did not immediately stand out as someone who would endure the test of time. His powers were relatively unimpressive, his motivations and depth were weak and his costume design… let's face it - the guy wears a bucket on his head. But the archenemy of Charles Xavier has proven over the decades that he's not only worthy of his infamous status, but worthy of a much greater accolade - being the greatest villain ever created. The Master of Magnetism doesn't just operate well along stereotypical bad guy parameters, but can actually sustain engaging, masterful storylines of his own.
As a Jewish child in Germany during the height of Adolf Hitler's reign, Max Eisenhardt discovered humanity was capable of the worst crimes and actions. What's remarkable is despite seeing genocide first hand and enduring the terror of concentration camps, Max has matured into exactly what took his family and loved ones from him. To protect his kind from the fate of a similar Holocaust, Eisenhardt persecutes any and all humans who dare cross his path.
Magneto has become bigger than his peers and virtually all of his enemies. It's the sign of a great character when his presence dominates a story and his absence creates a vacuum that cannot be filled by any other. Through his legendary role in Marvel Comics over the years as well as fantastic portrayals in film and animation, it's hard to argue that there has ever been a villain more complex, nuanced, sympathetic and yet irrevocably evil.
But mine is the Joker, gotta love him.
Blahblah evil this evil that.. When in the last few post far more pertainent words have been summons, evil is a resignation tag, used excessivly by Zealous Religious peeps, the words Corrupting.. Ect.. Are far more encompassing. It is ever so odd that Evil is assigned to a computer. How Generic is Evil.. Maybe I'll start a poll.
I must say the evilest (and my favorite) is the Joker. He is just so nutty and you never know what he's thinking.
Dab,
Do we think the more technoligy we give computers that maybe some day that they will grow some kind of intellegence, whether to operate as it always has or make crucule adjustments to problems faced, even going aginst humans.?
Heck some days my computer is evil,
Basically not fitting in with the norm of societies, or going against rules that humans have set up about to detrmine acts against humans. Every person holds and evil trait. how they use it is some times more profound than others do.
So then you agree evil is rather broad, it tends to leave one thin in expression. I think to many people want things to be evil, so that they can "exercise their holy beliefs against the perceived presence of" evil".
Bi adversity has oppressed the masses with prejudice long enough. there are real issues being buried under the Polar Opposistion, the offenses become vaguer, and vaguer, but the hatred is ever present.
Petty is evil, despised is the impulsive rapist.
Evil is broad, for opinions on what I may think is evil to me you may find not evil. delusions of the world and society to bring the beliefs that is evil only pertains to certain things. yet perceptions is left to broad to cover all paths.
The Most Evil Villain Ever? simple, its me.
i have no conscience or remorse and if i could get away with it,i would be slaughtering people right now but sadly its not a free country or world for that matter.
actually i could get away with it but it requires too much time cleaning and burning.
Just the limit of scope makes this sound like the base for a sermon.
A great injustice is done to comic writers when such stereotypical questions are presented for forums.
"Evil" , like " Brilliance" is never self actualized.
"By their actions the deviants will be known, by their rants the deranged will be exposed."
Read some de Sade.. you might expand your lexicon past the trite "Evil".
ps "Evil" makes front page, 5 months in a row, the bar is constantly raised.
I've gotta go with Freddy Kruegger (preying on children!)...but I loved his one-liners!
I dont know if anyone has said this one but vlad the impaler. The Orginal Dracula. He orderd thousands of people to be staked while he ate dinner. His whole kingdom reaked of rotting corpes.
I would have to say Joker or Jigsaw... Yes jigsaw didnt actually kill anyone but he set up events and trapped people to make them kill themselves in some way..
Hitler and the Nazi Army.
Pathogens-- disease! The tiniest and most deadly human enemy. Like in war of the worlds, no one is immune, even aliens!
Have you ever seen the movie Cyborg with Jean Claude Vandamme? The villan Fender I always thought was very heartless. Sometimes the amount of people you kill isnt as graphic or cruel as the technique and this guy was cruel.
Ok, i'm gonna take this out of a movie. I think the most evil villian is the guy that kills all of the kids in changeling
Bowser from mario. He's killed me about a million times over the years and the sadistic prick never stops kidnapping people then resumes to killing me again, and again and again.
Iago from Shakespeare's Othello.
A truly evil bastard.
He does all this evil throughout the entire play...his reason, was pretty much that he felt like it. Not quite sure, it's never adequately explained.
*Sarcastic* The most evil villian ever... Survey says?
*Drum role* Religion and Politics... ALWAYS seperate church from state.
Sorry, had too.
I would say Hitler, Stalin and the Nazi Party.
Everyone goes on about Hitler sending so many Jews to their deaths, but not only did he do that, he also orderd the deaths of disabled children under 3's to begin with, then up to teenagers and then finaly adults.
Their tiny bodies were then studdied in order to apparently learn more about what caused the dissability, and to make the people who were administering the lethal injections feel better, as then the babies did not die in vain.
Dracken, I agree with you on Josef Mengele.
Sadistic and evil.

Hitler is just one in a line of many people that throughout time have done similar for similar reasons.
A lot of people in this world thrive on hatred disguised as love (I'll post some examples in my journal).
The most evil villians in the world (in my opnion) are those who believe you have to be just like them, or don't deserve to live, and quite possibly need to die a painful death just because you dared to exist.
Like the Fellowship of the Light people on True Blood :P That quite a metaphor for the reality of people's hatred against, merely other people.
I agree with most here people can be evil we kill without reason we have destoryed so much in this world and for what money. Killing animals so we can wear there skins or fur on us thats evil in my eyes. And for the record Jesus not evil he didn't make wars happen we do that just fine on our own we just put it down to religon so it sounds like we are fighting for something worth while we make war not religon and most of the time for nothing but greed now thats evil. Villains just look around lots of them right in front of you or turn on the Tv govenments evil sorry if this upset anyone but thats how i see things...
In my own oppinion.Anyone and everyone who would hurt a child is the most evil villian ever.
edward the 2nd of england, anyone who passes a law giving other ppl the right to force a married woman to sleep with somone other then her husband on the first night of there wed is gotta be fucked in the head.
id have to say that Hitler is the most evil villain ever because he was fucking nuts and was against his own religion, he based his hatred off of one person. He ended up murdering his own family members and destroying all evidence of the existence he then proceeded to kill off over 6 million people in four years
Insanity is not a good basis for evil. To be evil, you have to be cognizant of right and wrong, and do wrong anyway.
Take the Joker for example...he's not evil by his own definition...he just doesn't give a shit.
NiteOwl....Is that evil though or a sociopath (any of the various disorders associated with it)?
Understanding right and wrong does not always give way to evil.
The answer is simple it's mankind. Yes the computer has played the villain in many tales but since it's created by man the deed comes back to him.
It's mankind that can take words of peace and twist them to start hate and war against another. Mankind that can take great advantages in science and technology and turn them to evil purposes instead of good.
Man that will take whatever advantage he can get over others to do things his own way no matter the consequences.
Give a man power and eventually he will abuse it, it seems impossible to resist so for every good done many more bad will come from it.
*I am including women in the generic "man" also*
Some good choices, but I have to go with Hitler as well.
I would have to say it was Dr. Hannibal Lecter form silence of the lambs he was an incarcerated and manipulative killer who killed and ate his victims .
How about Pope John XXII who formalised the persecution of witchcraft in 1320 when he authorised the Inquisition to prosecute sorcery.
BTW LSS, I think Hannibal Lecter should be the coolest evil villain of all time. I read all 4 of those books. Love him. You know what's interesting about him is that he's a moral killer. Notice he's not a child killer or a woman hater. Not a pervert at all. He kills people he believews ought to be killed. ( a whole new discussion that )
I'd have to agree that the pope during the time of the inquisition and hannable lector are both good canidates. but id also have to agree that hannable lector is the coolest evil villan as well, considering that he was created based off of Ed gein who was from wisconsin. i find it fascinating that a human being is capable of such atrocities
i think it would be a tie between skynet and the joker
I myself would have to go the the great and ominous Jack The ripper. Never caught, never a true Identification no justice murder with out recourse. Quit similar to of old Zodiac killer may similarities with no end result or justice.
Hannobal was a villian type and Atila used to tear peoples limbs apart.
Elizabeth Bathory -http://listverse.com/2007/09/09/top-10-most-evil-women/
Countess Elizabeth Bathory is considered the most infamous serial killer in Hungarian/Slovak history. Rumors had circulated for years about missing peasant girls; offered well paid work at the castle, they were never seen again
Ted Haggard Interview by Richard Dawkins

Those who took the lives of the innocent people in this world.
Yah...
you see, these are all awesome villains
but...
I am pretty sure that I top this list!!
LOL
in my mind i would have to say it was the us govenment they kill ppl such as the indian ppl bc they were "not like them"
Well to me the worst Villian is anyone who is crazy enough to take any lives, and then the laws that protect them is even worst of a villian .
Yet Skynet or any computer or biological warfare would be the worst villian there is, everything and everyone woud be taken out.
So many it is hard to choose who is worst...
going to ditto the answer above.
Also the Catholics of the Spanish Inquisition. the farmers of the Salem witch trails, and countless other royal and powerful figures threw out history.
all these people shed the blood needlessly. To find evil villains or monsters we need look no farther then our own history books.
To blame mankind almost makes sense. After all, if there were no mankind to judge then there would be no evil. But, mankind then, must also be the inspiration and the creator of good and light. So we get back to the concept of choice. And man (or woman) chooses one or the other. Or more often, vacillates between the two.
mankind yes...on a "movie type" then I would have to echelon from the movie imagine if that were to happen for real? I think we are only a matter of time away from such invasion.
I think Hitler was a evil man for murdering millions of Jews.
well with sticking to the comic book villains. Id go with Carnage in the spider man comics ..bad ass
I'm goin with Hitler. He killed millions of Jews, gypsys etc He judged them and believed in the Aryan Brotherhood (white only) and nothing else mattered.
ted bundy or john wayne gacy- as for fictional no dout it would be michael myers or jason voorhies
I'm gonna have to cast a vote toward the most successful serial killer ever, Countess Elizabeth Bathory. Premeditated, meticulously contrived. Killing somewhere around 600 girls, for the sole purpose of enhancing her own vanity~ Bathing in their blood, drinking the blood, etc. And she got away with it for a long time.
Man.. how could anything be worse than us?
And, you did say, fictional or real. True?
i have to go with sephiroth he's the only person to kill off a main character just as you start training her up aswel and then theres that line from advent children tell me what you cherish most give me the pleasure off taking it away
That's strange Isis - I thought you'd say Adham - from TBD I - or Calandra.
Hmm..
I may need to brush up on my evil...lol
The free will of men, who kill like Jim Jones. A child molester I agree 100% to hurt a child for life or even to kill one.
okay.. if you're intent on silliness, Joe McCarthy
fella's views did nothing but harm to America.
Judgemental, closeminded ignorant pricks of people that do not and will not ever understand those that are different from them.
The American Government has caused so much death and destruction, More than any other country in the world.
They always have to be involved in every other country's business, Cant worry about their own people and the quality of life there.
It was impossible for 2 jet airliners to actually cause the WTC to collapse as it did, And so much the government will not release to its own citizens
