Seriously, its just a waste of time to read. Plus they pretty much made vampires into glittery, "vegetarian" vampires. Also, people really think these stories are way better then Anne Rice's stories. No one can top her vampire stories. I don't want to read about a vampire who cant read a girl's mind and is just obsessed with her, and keeps saying "I can't be near you." and yet keeps coming back to her.
I don't mind that if you like Twilight but just because I don't like it doesent mean you get to say, "You don't understand since your a guy."
Seriously? What does me being a guy have to do with me not liking a book? Makes no sense.
Bram Stoker's Dracula is the best. Its been in print over 100yrs...its inspired many movies, and Dracula the character has been in more movies and tv than any other fiction character in history
I find those who are offended by Twilight, and Hollywoods vampires in general, to be laughable.
As if simply imagining vampires in the context of fantasy, fiction, and Lore.. is some blasphamy of some existing "vampire cabal".
Yet here those people are with nothing to present to
adress "the mundanes" on what we lack in understanding.
it really starts to become a case of "Me Thinks They Protest Too Much".
Perhaps some who are so persistantly anti fiction vampire are jealous that they don't have their niche in culture?
No Dab, is just that is already expensive the maintenance of the profession as well as for the utensils for the conversion, things are bad now-economically speaking, buying glitter to add to their presentation makes it more unbearable, they NEED to protest...
I think the Twilight series is a good alternative. They are easy to read and understand. I prefer the Vampire Chronicles, but I can see why my 16 year old sister-in-law prefers Twilight.
danzig you nailed it, it is in the age demographic. Being a guy in that age bracket would make it eveident that girls are going to be seeking guys with inner termoil.. etc..
Thank you Dabbler. Stephanie Myers is Mormon and set out to write a book for a specific demographic.
I would think that with as many members that are self described writers more here would be in awe of someone with no expirence creating such a hugh hit. It should give them inspiration. Instead they protest way to much. Perhaps you are onto something Dabbler.
anne rices stories is oneof or the best vampire stories ther is twilight douse not come near ann rices novels
I like it, my family like it and my 13yr old daughter loves it
There is a few hot chicks on it so what the hell
Its good to view why disect it?
I personally never caught on to it, and yes I'm sick of hearing about it. Hell, if someone likes it I say more power to 'em but I really don't.
I know where your coming from LordZacharias, it is one of those types of films/books.
I dont know what its like in the US but here in the UK especially in cornwall which is far removed from commercialism we dont get anything rammed down our throats stuff doesn't tend to grind on us as much
I wouldn't mind reading the books if I was bored, as the only thing I don't like is the glitter concept. But I saw the first movie and will not see any other due to the guy who play Edward. Worst actor I've ever seen for a role like that. I can get over the glitter, but not the acting.
LOL @ Sera I know what you mean its abit cheesy isn't but my kids rave about, they got posters of it, annuals about it and my daughter is infatuated with edward so I learn to love it else it make me insane
It's just another person's viewpoint and their creation of a vampire. I don't see what the big deal is really. Sure it's got a lot of hype and yes more than teens likes the saga. Anne Rice....sure i've read her books but eventually someone else will take the popularity role. Personally i didn't like QOTD'ed movie at all. The books were better. The books are always better.
Know what you mean there, QoTD sucked, the book was amazing but whoever made the movie screwed it all up. It wasn't even endorsed by Anne Rice or whoever could endorse it in her name. Good music in it though, love the ST, but as a movie, horrible.
I know that i'm definitely tired of it. It's all my sister talks about half of the time that I see her. She just went and saw the movie this past weekend and thats all she talked about afterwards and how they messed it up, left out scenes or whatever. Its ridiculous.
I don't mind it either of those who are Twilight fans but its ridiculous to keep going on and on and on and on about it.
I have no interest in Twilight but I think it's meant to attract young teens. I totally enjoyed all of Ann Rices vampires and witches. If anyone has the time The Black Diaries in Obonewit's journal here on VR are well worth your time reading.
Books about Vampires are just Books created by the imagination of the author. Yes, those imagination are gifted and for that, today, they are rich. The Twilight Saga was created for the teen generation. The latest movie, New Moon, is bringing a lot of money in tax revenue in the cities were is playing, so, is good for the economy. Keep them coming!!
The Twilight saga didn't bother me untill the fandom became so rampant I refuse to even look at it anymore.
When a 12 year old drenches herself in glitter and starts biteing her family and frinds to turn them "pretty".
I await to see this burn itself out like so many fads that have come and go.
No because I haven't read the books nor seen the movies, maybe I will just out of curiosity.
However talking about it just makes it more popular.
Honestly can sy *no* I have not gotten to read all the books that are out, plus I would love to see the movies that are created fron this mini series/saga so I am sorry till I have seen and read ll that is offered to me I am not tired of it. Just being Honest is all.
Grant it many get carried away with soem things and this may be one that the puplic in general does, yet, I do not follow the puplic at least no on their time LOl
It is always on my time and when I can or want to read or watch soemthing. :)
i refuse to watch the movies and read the books the author of the books is a complete homophobe and uses the vampires in the story as a metaphor to state that gay and lesbian people should repress there urges and be heterosexual. and i am not making this up just try googling it you can't miss it. i did see the first movie before i knew this and it was terrible plus the main character vampire who has a crush on the human girl is lke the dictionary definition of a stalker.
The apple, isn't it a sign? The forbidden fruit, sin, desire, or perhaps it's nothing more than the front cover of Twilight. The apple is not the only sign of Twilight's popularity. There is no pressure of sex in Twilight, that is why those girls who feel pressured by it in life, find a safe haven in this book.
What could be the sex appeal behind the book...?
In my mind the books and the movie is nothing more then a teen romance movie and a joke!
i think l.j. smith wrote the best vampire series, better then anne rice in my thoughts
now i do like the twlight books and the moves
i am tired that the teeny boopers are going buck wild with it and are thinking that is what a vampire is, it is annoying, or the pissing and moaning i want to be a good person.
If I see another merchindicing item or hear the word twilight I'll skin my sell alive. It was a bad books that turned into bad movies. please make it stop.
Nope not sick of it at all. In fact after seeing the last movie, I'm more of a fan as I feel they did the book justice better in this last movie than in the previous one.
That said- there is nothing that constitutes the "best" vampire movies, as everyone will have their own opinion on what is "best". Granted I can appreciate why so many men don't like the Twilight series- it is after all primarily a romance. Yes the characters are vampires, but the story line is about love. Not all guys get into this- nor do all girls.
Take the story/movies for what they are, like them or no. But to say they are a waste of time is an extremely personal statement.
And I'm not the person that represents that statement.
Im not a fan but i will not judge those who like it but i just read about people making a church over the books. the use the books as bibles and worship edward and bella and also the auther. That is taking to far. thats just me
The movies are disappointing. The books are haunting and romantic.
Seriously? Theyr making a church to worship the book?
Wow..... Really?
Has it been thirty days already to start adverts for the New Moon movie that has come out, due to the ridiculers of the Twitlight series? Come on people, if you don't like it, don't thread it or post about it.
I'm tired of hearing about it too, and I loved the books. I think what bothers me the most is the big deal that those who don't like it are making out of it. It's a book series that spawned some subpar movies, so what? I don't agree with those who are obsessed with hating it, and I don't agree with those who think they're the greatest books ever written.
Hmm, suddenly I cannot wait until the third movie comes out for this same discussion to be repeated for a third time. Bah!
I'm so sick of the damn twilight saga. And now they have burger kings as a sponsor so all you see on commercials is that. I really just hate the whole plot of the movie aswell after seeing the first one. I'm not even going waste money on seeing the new one.
It will be just the same as the Harry Potter franchise. Save for the fact that Harry is 200% better. Harry got a Universal Studios ride, what does that say for Twitlight, eh? HA!!! Just some cheesy Burger King glasses.
Well, Vladimir it's all over the place here. I see things about it in commercials for the movie itself, things all over places like Blockbuster for the books and movies- and let's not forget the ultra-annoying Burger king commercials.
No, I am not tired of it at all. In fact, at the risk of being ridiculed I will admit to actually crying at the end of the last book because I would not know what happened next to the "characters". I think the word "characters" is important here. It is fantasy, I laugh at those who suggest that people who enjoy the series are being given unreal expectations of vampires. People who make such suggestions are without doubt deluded; unless of course the really know how a "real" vampire should be represented. :D
It is fantasy and the genre contains so many different styles of writing!! Something for everyone, that's what makes the genre so enjoyable!!
It was never about the facade of the mis-interpretation of what the fictional vampire was all about IE being sparkly vs burning in the sun.
The ridicule is about how piss poorly the cinematics were in the first one, second to the character acting by all parties involved save for a select few that were partially up to par, and other ill gotten treats that were presented with even poor'er visual effects.
No, I am not expecting this round to be any differan then the last. it is hopefully working on a better budget, so it may have a few differances. But the poor acting has got to go. "What am I?" "Vampire" "Are you afraid" ... What the bloody hell kind of script is that? CUT!!! Where are my stand-in's??? Get these two out of here!! BAH!!
Like I said, it was never about the fictional counter-part debate, it was about how poorly the entire movie(s) were crafted.
I thought this thread was about the books, with the creator posting that they were a waste of time to read. So I was talking about the books not the movies.
I can think of many books I have not enjoyed as much, or even hated on the big screen. I have though enjoyed the two movies that have been released so far, each to their own :D
In either case, I am not much into children nor teen literature myself, as well... I am NOT into phedophilic reading material. 500 year old vampire woes high school teen? Give me a break, he should have moved on by the time he reached at least 20, even as an immortal.
I haven't read the books and don't intend to.
I have seen the first film and I will see the second ...third when it's out.
*yawns* Are we seriously talking about this AGAIN? *falls over* MEH.
I love the books. Wanted to murder whomever was apart of the movie for it was tragic and even when you don't think about how much was truly left out of the movie, it still sucked. The acting made me purely sick and I could NOT take it seriously at all.... It made me want to cry...
It also makes me sick, seeing it everywhere as much as I loved the books. And yes, I DID love them. DO...
But even I have to admit... I'm getting sick of hearing the word Twilight everywhere I turn... mehhhhhhhhhhh
Ok..no matter how dorky this may sound...I am on book 4 now. I have enjoyed the books and the Movie "Twilight".
New Moon I found boring. I have to admit that the whole series is more teenage orientated, but it is just entertainment.
Besides, Edward is not too hard to look at for 2 1/2 hours, lol.
lol Actually Twilight was more boring than New Moon. See the pattern here? Not everyone is going to agree with one another about movies. If everyone were to choose a number from good to bad, each person would have a different number based on opinion. Most of the "older" generation are used to the bloody/gore scenes, the more primal or beastly kind of vampire... whereas they have turned into the more romantic types which of course, most guys wanna vomit about. Personally i feel that if you haven't at least TRIED to watch the movie or read the books, then why should one have an opinion? Just another 2 cents.
I've enjoyed the books and the movie too but then I went into reading and watching it knowing the age group it was targeting. I will see the other movies as they come out.
In this, it will be much like the Harry Potter movies some will be better than others, it's just the nature of it.
The series is not my favorite vampire series as I prefer Laurell K Hamilton and Chirsteen Feehan's writing style, among others. I detest Anne Rice's books as her writing style puts me to sleep. Her stories might be good but I can't get to them for the trash.
As to discussing the series why shouldn't we? It's a part of vampire literature now and forever. It may not be Stoker but it has it's fans and so belongs.
Well is has a lot of controversy that the vampire culture in cinematics have being very annexed to blood more than the love concept, even if it has being experienced the use of both in one storyboard, the blood was always a major theme and roll, in this new adaptations, the blood and the feeling of a predatory love has being widely blurred by the love theme making the figure less into a vampire, and probably looking more like a Incubi than what it should represent. As for the hype is just the new forbidden love of two worlds where the secrecy theme is kept more or less like Romeo & Juliet. I don't understand what is so attractive of loving a Emo dressed as a Jock that has complexities issues about what he is, like seriously you don't mourn your reality for 100 years, people get over shit fast that guy need some psychological help, if not a stake.
Personally I can get past the whole glitter in the sun thing... as long as the "vampires" would actually bare their fangs and bite someone. But, from what I saw in Twilight, that never happened, and therefore I don't consider it a vampire movie. Instead I just call it a really bad romance movie with a couple of action sequences.
As for New Moon, I'm really sick and tired of hearing this whole "I'm with Edward" and "I'm with Jacob" crap. I went to my cousin's house the other day for her son's 1st birthday party and there was a 16 year old girl there who was wearing a New Moon shirt and wouldn't stop talking about the movie for the whol 2 hours I was there. I had to leave before I went any crazier than I already am. I highly doubt I will see this movie...
I forgot to add, when Anne Rice's movies came out, especially Queen of the Damned, people said the same thing.
''it is just a movie for teenagers that believe that Lestat is real.''
History repeats itself.
The teens of today, when another vampire movie comes out and it makes success they'll say the same thing and say that Twilight was better.
However there are more good vampire books than just Twilight, Anne Rice's and others that became a movie, still good even if they haven't.
There is not a day that goes by the commericals on television, talk programs talking to the actors, then on here.
Yes I am tired of it.
It's Twilight's time to shine, or should I say sparkle? No big thing really. An artist, per se, says that vamps sparkle. So who are we to say they don't. A painting is as good as the viewer. Books and movies are no different.
I liked it before it was all popular and "omg look its edward"
so yes, i can say im completly sick of twilight, the publicity of it just stuns me how many people are actually infatuated with the "glittery vegan" vamps. i dont know. maybe its just me, but its getting kinda out of hand with everything....

It's just a wonder that people who claim to be "tired" of Twilight keep on making more and more threads about it. They keep it in the spotlight.
I like all vampire fiction. I have a respect for a writer's interpretation and feel fiction should have no boundaries. I'll take anyone's spin. I may not prefer it, but it shows me I can also feel free to use my own imagination and be as creative as I want to be. No matter what anyone says, never stop creating.
I might have liked it, if the author had stuck to the vampire lore, and not have them going to highschool, living in the "burbs", drving BMW, and being able to go out in the sun light. I just can't buy that crap. That and teeny boppers kind of ruined by becoming obsessed with a fictional vampire that they can never ever have.
actually the weakness to sunlight is not from vampire lore well folk lore, they started using the sun weakness in nosferatu i think and then most movies.books from then on.
anyway i agree with both parties on this, the twilight saga has got an out of hand crazy fanatics but the movie and the books are just fiction,so no one in the vampire community should be threatened by it and i agree that creating threads like these keeps twilight in spotlight,so if you don't like hearing about it,don't create a thread about it.
But if not for twilight, what would all the cynical critics bash?
Your answer ~Dab~, would be the sci-fi movie: True Horror - Dracula. Based off of what appears to be another remake of a "true" story of vlad.
Actually I think almost every vampire movie i have ever saw, except for maybe 2 were just terrible..And I have saw alot hoping one day 1 will make me a fan..
I agree its much better to read about them than the awful portrayal that directors turn into movies..
tired of it, it's all I hear about. many debates are coming about because of the movie even tho part of it was filmed in my town. Good article is showing tonight on 20/20 about this ordeal
Hell to me she made the vampires to weak (pussies), in the first book I wanted James to rip Edwards head off and take Bella as his own lol
Ok why would we get tired of Twilight when it is a series of Vampire/werewolves saga, did you get bored with Underworld?? OOOHH, I know Twilight is not *DARK* enough for those who are tired of hearing of it any more. :) Just my opinion....
Myself I enjoy reading and watching any and all things with the Vampires and Werewolves, it is hollywood after. ;)
Hell ~Passion~, why not just ripped both Bella and Edward's bodies in half then dine on their bones???
Eh,its good entertainment for the kids .As for me? I dont go for that sortof thing. And some seem to be taking it just a little too seriously.Thats kindof weird.
I read the books and they were okay except for the fact that they glittered.
I'm being forced to take my sister to every movie that comes out, though.
I pretend to like it for her sake. She's so excited about it...
I heard the critic actually said you'd only like the new moon movie if you were a teenage girl.... *shudders*
That'll be a fun night...
*save me*
I am not a fan of the Twilight series. They made vampires look like wusses. Seriously, what kind of stupid vampire glitters? Is it some sort of way to show people that they are dangerous? Marshmallows are more dangerous than sparkly, "vegetarian" vampires.
Sure...Twilight is the latest preppy vampire installment...but seriously...Tom Cruise as Lestat is the 90s equivalent. Brad Pit didn't bother me though...since he was in Cool World...so in turn a little more down with the scene.
The next time someone talks about Anne Rice like they're dropping something old skool over the Twilight saga...ask them if they also read Poppy Z Brite.
I'm not tired of the Twilight saga per say...I'm just indifferent about it.
I'm a bit tired of hearing about the series every time I turn around. But I'm even more tired of hearing people complaining about the series. I have no interesting in watching or reading any of it, and I make a few wisecracks here and there, because, really... how are sparkly vampires not funny? But so many people are going on and on and on and on and on and on about how horrible it is, how they refuse to watch it, what a disgrace it is, etc, etc, etc. If you don't like it, don't watch/read it. It's that simple. There are just as many people out there that do like it, but I'm pretty sure I haven't seen anywhere near as many forum threads and journal entries ranting about how good it is as I have people complaining about it. Get a life. Instead of spending so much time talking shit about things other people like and you don't, spend your time watching, reading, or doing something that you enjoy. No one's going to force you to watch or read Twilight. Ignore it and it will go away eventually, and then something "worse" will come along.
Ehh if you don't like it yourself why are you here preaching on others commentaries? I believe the thread is made to be commented, and even if it wasn't called for- it would've been "RIP'ed"a long time ago, people can do, say or react whatever they want towards a discussion, if you happen to dislike the behavior towards this kind of threads why even bother: reading it, following it or even so responding it, get yourself a moment to read things that you like instead of reading this that you apparently don't.
Twilight is a really good vampric romance but if you wanted to talk more about a blood sucking horror than Anne rice series is fine....Twilight Saga is more for me So i am not tired of it
In the masses of those against Twilight there are a variation of reasons, and intent as to why they dispise the series to varying degrees.
I find those who not only despise Twilight, but despise any depiction of the vampires in theatric presentation, as well as scoff at anyone who dares to be content with the lore, and fiction of vampires, to be the most biased critics, technically they would bandwagon against a steller BlockBuster hit.
Mentioning Poppy Z Brite, I am shocked that she still has yet to sell the rights to any one of her books to be made into a movie or telly series.
I think every generation has there own vampire or moster who brightens their imagination. i think after harry potter started losing a little of it's excitment because of how drawn out everything was becoming those kids who grew up on harry potter were ripe for a new fanticy to capture their imagination and Twilight is what came along. it perfect for it's age group because it incorperates preteen girl fanticys (like the multiple guys in love with one girl) wth real life issues like depression and self esteem issues. The Twilight series will never be a classic and in ten year no one is really going to care about it unless their into vampires but for now it's entertaining and a fun story to get lost in.
Dabbler that was well put. and well as this movie will not be anymore popular than other things that the newer and younger generation enjoys, us older ones enjoy a more darker side of these kinds of mvies and books.
Yet, I feel that is exactly what they are looking for a new young audiance (sp), as was wiht Harry pttoer it was very very poular and now it is slowly sliding into the bookshelves to collect dust.
Yet, we cannot please everyone with all the books or movies that come out. So why not let the ones who enjoy it do so. In time as everything else it slides away into the dark, then the ones who do not care for it will be happy, yet, until that time just ignore it or deal with it. LOL
Bottom line is they are all about making money as any movie or book.
I happen to enjoy them all to see how different thecreators are in how they look at Vampires or anything for that matter. Just an opinion.
The threads are a good place for us all to share either good or bad it still has us discussing it, now don't it. ;)

Praise be to ToiletDuc! I feel the exact same way about all the people who whine about this series. Stop giving it attention. You have the power to keep these threads off the front page.
I think the whole thing is a disgrace. All these preteens going gaga over some over played bull. No one really was into vampires in the main stream of culture till then and now every idiot thinks they re one. It also has some themes I dont find appropriate for the so called age bracket its supposed to advertise to. I mean undertones of sex and the little drab and droll girl gets pregnant! I wouldnt want any child of mine reading that slop, not to mention its written at a 4th grade level. You should get kids to try and read more difficult things. It all makes me want to punch a baby...
There is no reason to be getting sick and tired of twilight. To me i think that twilight is the best series out there. Nothing comes close to Anne Rice's vampire cronicles series. Long live twilight
I have to agree with DarkTwilight, Twilight is great except the vegetarian part and stupid Jacob who thinks he can have Bella and kill vampires, he just cant get his own girl. I want to take a chain saw and hack his limbs off one by one.
i have to say many think twlight turned vampires in to wussies, but to tell the truth most all movies and books have turned them into winey wimp i want to smack.
i want to see or read a vampire show or series where they are happy with who they are, not pissing and moaning i have no soul god it is anoying
Vampire Daries beat Twilight hands down. At least they had action, thrills and plotting with the love theme.
What we can't have vegitarian vampires? What's up with that? lol Besides, they didn't eat humans. They chose to hunt wild beasts to feed on, so they can't be vegitarians and they only fought when they had to protect something. Ok so what's the difference really other than the sparkles?
We do have vegetarian vampires.. Bunnicula ring a bell?
well people are still tralking so they must not be bored with Twilight yet.. lOl My 6year old Grand daughter just seen it yesterday and she is all excited for th enext one to coem out LOl so.. hey what can ya do...
I have to agree about Bunnicula.
Best vampire books. Ever.
The celery stalks at midnight!
I can't wait to see New Moon. The actress that plays Alice is banging hot.
Other than that I agree with TD. More people complain about it than rave about. So in reality who is keeping the hype going?
I've said this one before when the topic was visited upon a year ago, might as well say it once more.
I don't hate Twilight, it's just not my thing....never really will be.
However, I know a lot of people (and I do mean a LOT) like the concept of a vampire love story. I just wish I could turn on the TV and not see an ad for the series or something else used for the ad ca,paign being shoved down my throat. Yeah, it's popular but I don't wanna see 9 million things related to it- THAT is my issue about it.
Team Edward? Team Jacob? Nope, I'm on Team STFU already....lol
I have not read the books, although I saw the second movie today. I feel like it's a social obligation as a vampyre.
I have nothing bad to say about the movies, they make me laugh a great deal. So silly. My favorite part was in the first one. Here let me set the scene for you:
Bella: girl, dumb, alone in the woods.
Edward: vampire, male.
"I could kill you right now!"
Yea, any guy could kill her. She's a girl alone in the woods. I could sneak up on the bitch.
ok so its a different take on things, why complain? if you don't like it, don't read it, plain and simple, its just like music, there is many different types out there cause everyone has different tastes, books are no different, even when it comes to a vampire story. So once again, let those who like it enjoy it and have fun with it, and those who dont like it go enjoy what you do like and stop bitchin
i dont get it,its a book for gods sake, give it up,there are a lot more things out there than just a book
I can't complain about people going all gag over Twilight. I make money with that gaganess lol, by selling stuff related to it. So, keep them coming.
But personally, I find the Twilight vampires too soft, I rather go for the Blackdagger Brotherhood or the Dark Hunters, at least they have balls ;)
I don't mind the twilight saga... Its a semi-new viewpoint on vampires and lycans alike. I don't like however having all the teenyboppers around *shivers*
I never read any of the twlight books. Just wasn't my cup of tea... I saw twlight didn't think it was that great but we all have various opinions of what we like... yes its geared toward the teen crowd and well this to shall pass.... just as it did after the first movie came out... we'll get the. The newbies with the new accts all named after the charatctors just as we did before... meh. No big deal really.
Haha. Souls.... and. TD. Bunnicula. The celery stalks at midnight my son loves that book just as I did as a kid. Many many moons ago lol
But why when a teen happens to like vampires people have to assume it is because of the latest popular movie?
When I was a teen I dressed goth and punk and I was told that I was a wanna be vampire impressed by Anne Rice's Queen of the Damned movie.
Thing is, I liked dark things since I was 2.

Very true, I've been a vampire fan my whole life. I can't even think of a time they were not part of my preference in books and film. Vampire Rave was created before Twilight, and we had the Masquerade before that, Anne Rice before that, and so on, so on, so forth.
I agree imanginsworld,I was on this site before twilight even came out :)
i believe the twilight saga should be banned. people have become so obessed that they now say that the new moon movie is affecting people to the point that they committ suicide......if you are that pathetic then you do need death.
The twilight saga is just some woman portraying her wet dreams into a teen romance novel...how sick. i have wrote better short stories that would blow her out of the water. I myself think ann rice could totaly kick that womans butt but...its just my idea.
Now i know people are going to look at this and bitch but i am just stating my personal oppinion. if you dont like it, deal with it or come complain.
either way i couldnt care less about all of this Twilight shit and im tired of the girls (even guys) going crazy over a horrible peice of literature.
Lol, I don't think all the hype means that people consider the Twilight series better than Anne Rice's novels, just that the Twilight series is different, really they are not comparable. The Twilight series is just getting its 15 min of fame, Anne Rice's novels are still popular and are classics.
That being said, the Twilight series is a bit more relateable, at least for the masses. The Twilight series is more about a love story than vampires, Anne Rice's novels aren't. So bascially Twilight (I personally love the books) and its fame will come and go and is good for teenie bopper girls to make googoo eyes at Edward...
Plus I think the lameness of the movies kind of has eclipsed the books. (haha, pun intended). So, its rather easy to become frustrated with all the Twilight fanaticism considering...
I'm tired of hearing 'Twilight this' 'Twilight that'. At first it was cute but now its just plain annoying.

Don't take this personally, I focus on your comment and am not calling 'you' a name here- To say Twilight should be banned because it's making people commit suicide it just as ignorant of a thought as people who have tried to ban Metallica, The Beatles, TV programming, and video games for its evil influences. People are responsible for their actions.
If you hate Twilight, that's valid enough on its own... you don't need to take your own fanatical stance and move towards fundamental censorship. After all... those kinds of people would make a site like this go *poof* in an instant. Something to think about.
*imagesinwords edit* So my comment closed this thread due to length. It's okay though... I don't think there's much else to add. No need to create a new thread for this.
