Ok, I know nothing about auras, but I keep getting people telling me that they feel a strong aura and often can see colours around me. Can someone maybe explain the nature of these things; where they come from, why, etc. Anything you can tell me.

Secondly, i did a quiz and got this result re: my aura. Even though i dont put much stock in these crappy quizzes, I answered truthfull, and got this:

It is more like your inner energy. Sometimes it can be seen by others. I guess it mostly depends on how you feel. In any case this is my opinion. I may be wrong.

aura,as I heard is somekind of spiritual power that surounds a being.when you have a black aura-it means you have a dark personality or mood...maybe even depressed,or sad,or evil...I don't really understand in auras but that's what I know...

My aura is Purple which is Balance a mixture of red and Blue

It is believed that your "Faith" of yourself and the spiritual realm is what creats this aura. It has eveolved over a period of thousand years. I could have started as hey you got alot of confidence I can tell from your aura. Now in current age we totally evolved the meaning behind it.

I mean, we all know the common perceptions (and misconceptions) of black, as in it is most commonly associated with death and/or sickness.

I mean, personally i have a pretty good self image. Atm though i am going thru a time of confusion re: a current relationship...might that be affecting it??

I have a purple aura. Expresses psychic awareness and spirituality. Have a conection to the Gods and the world around you , including the Universe.

Supposedly auras are in a perpetual state of flux, and aren't necessarily just one color.
I don't mean to be a buzzkill, but I wouldn't read too much into an online quiz with only six questions.

I agree, never put much into those quizzes - read up on auras yourself - like that site I just quoted from... Google is our friend - so use it and learn.

while there isn't much i can add to this since the subject is so simple and so much has been said but some studies have been found that the amount of aura one has can also define weither a person is more human or not, sor instance while the human body generates a large aura of varied colors the subject they used was one that claimed to be a phy vamp who, when observed, produced little to no aura at all. they think that it isn't on a spiritual level at all though and instead say that its purely the level of electromagnetic waves one's body puts out. all in all though it is better to research it on your own and make your own belief in the matter

Perceiving the Aura





The best place to first look for a glimpse of the aura is on the hand around the fingers. Look closely at the area just above the flesh. A very small layer, perhaps only millimeters thick, should be perceptible. It will differ in texture and quality from the air around it, and after a time, colors may suggest themselves to you. At all times you should trust your instincts and impressions and allow them to guide you to your conclusions. Do not doubt your perceptions until after you have explored them fully. We filter all of our perceptions, to one degree or another, through our individual symbol system. Thus, intuition has proven to be the only set rule for aura interpretation. If I recall your aura is the energy that surrounds you. It is your own personal energy. Mine tends to be made of the colors white and black. There are some people that can see an aura. Each color is suppose to mean things, but there are so many variations it is hard to just name a few... You can kind of think of it as, your personal mood ring. lol.

Hi Fury, I didn't see anything that adequately describes an "aura". An aura can be considered as the spirit body of an individual. There are multiple levels of the subtle body that can make up an aura. The one people tend to "see" is the one closest to our physical form. Having a strong presence is often equated with a healthy, strong individual.

Auras come in a variety of colors. Black is nothing to be worried about because it is a power color more than "evil". And besides, you got that result from a quiz, which has little to no success of "reading your aura".

Long and short of it is that you have a strong aura if people detect it. It's nothing more and nothing less than a reflection of what we are/ have the potential to be. I personally wouldn't worry about it or let it scare you.

Mine is a purple/black and if you look really closely at the right times, you can see little tendrils that radiate from my auric body. Someone who connected to me recently said that my energy is a bit like taking speed. I process my energy and make it very refined since I tend to "run a quart low" on most occasions as a vampire.

thanks to everyone who posted here, you really helped me. and like i said before, i didnt put much stock into what that stupid quiz said, it just sorta prompted me to ask more about auras as i personally have never seen one but heard people going "oh yeah i can see auras". I think most of em are full of shit, but then again, u never know...the world works in mysterious ways...

is there any specific or even general guide to what certain colours may signify about a person? some seem pretty obvious, but some are a little trickier to try and guess....

For myself, the aura is just a rainbow (there is almost black in the rainbow if you looked). It is the rainbow generated by the human body. Dont shoot me this is purely an opinion.

Anyway, your aura is your energy field and the colors of your energy field will vary with your emotions, Blue, Green, Red, Gray, Yellow....Animals can see an aura and when they look at humans, depending on the aura they will either run or remain steadfast.

Sorry there are no Pink, Orange, Purple, Brown or any other Crayola color auras...and if anyone says differently....be on your guard.

As many have said, the aura is a energy field around you. It can fluctuate over time, and some people can see the colors of one anothers aura...

But i wouldnt trust a quizilla quiz on the subject to be accurate.

Sweety don`t beat your self up on that quiz, It was made the answer was made by the little clues you gave it. The quiz was made by someone not Not by the gods passing jugment. . The black aura is just what you got...

i dont know that auras are limited to human beings. when i was in high school , a group of scientists did an experiment with plants and karlian photography. the plants reacted with visable alarm to flame and other plants being trimmed...

If an aura Is discolored you may have some kind of entity that has attached it self to you and is feeding off your emotions

I dont know much about it...but from what ive been told, its basically your energy and mood. I frget how to spell it but the japanese version is feng Shue (sp?) some ppl can see the colorus, and it changes with ur mood, and as you change as a person. this is what i have gathered...

I agree with others here, don't believe those stupid little quizzes. I don't know that much about auras, and I can't say that I have ever seen one or really looked for one. But I do know that they are real. I just don't know how to look for them. But seriously, don't believe those quizzes.

My parents have always said that I have some type of aura that animals are attracked to. They said that when they used to take me to the zoo or the aquarium all the animals would line up and follow me as I walked until they couldn't walk no more. My dad said he has pictures of it. It does explain why dogs tend to like. Even dogs that like no one. For example my best friend had this chichiua that would let no one pet her except my friend. The dog would even bite my friend's son. Within a minute, I was holding the dog and she was content and licking my hand. I do not know what color my aura is. However, I believe that every one and every thing can sense it and react to it in a certain way.

I dont know much about that myself , only what is heard or read, but the information others have given has been helpful.

Your aura is the bio-electrical field that is generated by your body.

I will try to keep this simple; in your body there are cells, within yours cells there are Mitochondrions, which are very small organelle. These little organisms are symbiots who convert food molecules into energy. This means that every cell in your body is a little like a power converter. As you may know a power converter generates an magnetic field. Likewise every cell in your body generates this electro magnetic field. It is very subtle but it is detectable.

An easy way to try this out for yourself is by holding your hand about half a meter from your head. Move it closer and you will feel a sensation like cold. This is your aura.

There are certain beings whose aura I can see a mile away that either attracts or repulses me, depending on what I see. One person, I could just see a mix of gold and white, drawing me to him. Come to find he was some of the best company I've ever kept, and a good advisor. There is something to these auras.

I can see, and sens auras, at first I see only signs of the aura then the color slowly takes the shade then the color, I cannot see everyone's but I can see stranger's as well as the ppl close to me, when I see it it always, hits me in a way, and freaks me out, so wish I could not see that, especially that it happens witout me wanting it.

Don't feel bad, I took the same quiz with the same results, black. The aura is the energy which surrounds you. It is supposed to reflect the mood you are in, or tells what may happen to you. A purple aura is supposed to mean peace and harmony. Black is sometimes interpreted to mean impending death.

what your talking about is called a reflection, and your persona. it how you make others feel.

if you want to call it an aura, go ahead. but try looking up auras, it might be intresting to you.

Aura's can be a variety of things i'm afraid. There really isn't one way to put it. In my experience with martial arts status I have come to understand that the kidneys produce all of the energy that we tend to use, when the kidney's produce this energy it surounds us and that is our basic aura, the color and basic compound of it however comes from our spirit and mental abilities. Or in shorter terms, how we are at the moment. These tests are interesting to take but this one is far from accurate lol, i took the same and recieved black also, do not worry, it's just another personality test not really proving anything. it doesn't mean you will die or are dead inside. your aura is a shield of energy, if/when you learn to use it, use it well.

And again, a lot of "interesting" answers.

FURY: the color of aura and its meaning is not universal. What I see as green/ heart/ emotionally healthy, another may see as pink instead (also associated with the heart color and chakra).

The colors are a little subjective to individual perceptions.

There are tests that can give you a general Idea of what your primary aura colours are, but this isn't one of them. From what I understand there are 14 different basic aura colours... your astrological sign has little bearing on your aura. Black in an aura is a sign of sickness... I have only seen it three times and those people died before I could talk to them again... It is not something that can be determined (or should be determined) in a test. the first time it was a black cloud arround a friened of mines wifes lungs... she stopped breathing a week later. The other one looked like she walked through a giant sticky black cobweb... she commited suicide from extream depression. The third time was the same but I fealt like I had to do something and I envisioned myself removing the cobweb... She never commited suicide... but her boyfrined admitted to me that she was serriously considering it at the time but suddenly snapped out of it and promptly dumped my friend (he was a rebound, for the guy she was serriously depressed about)

Black is not an aura thing per se, more of an external influence that sort of clings to the aura... a taint.

Aura cameras are a slide dupe fraud (usually) allthough I hear tha tthe ones in England are what the ones I have seen are mant to replicate. The hand aura cameras are a different thing all together... and are more liek a visual representation of palmestry.

I usually recomend going to someone who draws auras... usually with pastels or pencil crayons.

I cannot usually see auras clearly , nor do I have the artistic ability to draw even if I did. However auras seam to me to be easier to see when I am happy drunk or in a Zen type mood that is similar.

Mostly Auras are seen by people with magic in them. With an aura around you when somebody sees it they can determine which kind of person you are. Everybody has an aura st some people have stronger aura than others. Seeing an aura is a great thing but can also be terrible when you see great evil within somebodys aura. When your friends see your aura they see who you are. It looks as a glow comin off a person.

I can't really discuss it being I don't know anything about aura I just wanted to say that it is an interesting topic as some people have tried to tell me that they saw an aura around me like they did with you fury..thanks for starting this thread you got 2 of us caught up on the meaning and purpose!

well, i cant say i know that much about auras, but i had a weird experience when i was about 8 or nine. i was in a grocery store, with my little sister, and i turned around and saw this one man and he looked like he had purple all aroundd him. i had asked my sister if she saw the purple and she said no. i was told later that it was an aura.

Mine came back as blue, and it does describe me to a point. But there were more more parts in the begining that i would have added. If anyne finds one that is alot more accurate, let me know.

I like what Sacred said a lot. I see this as much of a mood ring type of thing. Something that you shouldn't get from a quiz...as it's forever changing. Can you say that you would have answered all the questions in that particular quiz with the same responses you do throughout any given day? I think our aura is a constantly changing thing..much like putting on a mood ring..it will show you how you feel at that given moment. I can see auras of people by looking at them and I can see auras in pictures, but I know from pic to pic, the aura changes in phases of color. I hope this makes some amount of sence.

Auras are the energy of the body that emit a color around the body sort of like a protective field and if auras are strong enough are wonderful ways to link people together to create a bond and better understanding of each other. If the color of your aura represents you in some way, is it possible that it could be like a mood ring, if you will? You change every minute of every day due to events and decisions you make, so wouldn't it make sense for your aura to change with you?

Auras are more then just a mood, I have seen some ppl perfectly relax having a dark aur, sometimes its like even 2 colrs at once, my mother for exemple has one, but my roomate has 2, she is more like a light blue shade, he is with a dark green almost black and soem yellow outlining it, and a person I saw at the restaurant the other dayw hen I whent with my friend , well this person had a pinkish kind a aura with a little bit of a fading white outline, barely noticable but there, so fare I have notice it is more aobut the person,s true personality and energy radiancy then a mood, since the only variant I saw in it was the outline, the rest stays the same regardless of their mood. I even test it... (Almost got my butt kick lol still it was worth the knowledge)

I've been told that auras represent your health also. That if you're ill, your aura gets darker or smaller. that people that have chronically small or dark auras are psychic vampires and try to replenish their own by feeding off of other's auras.

I used to see auras when I was a child. But I dont see them anymore. I think it was because the younger you are the purer you are.

i dont think that auras are anything like mood rings... but then again i never believe that mood rings actually were accurate.

Apparently I have a yellow aura, which is meant to be knowledge, which sounds true cause I am a bit of an annoying know-it-all. I was told that when I was baout 14 so it may have changed. Auras are interesting, and I was once taugt how to see them.
One way is to go into a dark corner, place your hands out infront of you, and look past them.

well I wouldn't worry about it too much I have the same aura as you so I can relate. Heres how I interperet it to be, the black aura signifies that you are a little resevred if not on the out side on the inside, you can be hard to be around sometimes, you have had, have, or will have difficult hardships in your life but you are strong to have this aura so you will be able to overcome this easier than others. Also that you are quite dangerous at times and sometimes you let your self get carried away, But in the end the aura signifies no more than you let it.

Research as been done that shows all living things produce an electromagnetic energy (aura) the spectrum of this energy can be seen as different colors when using silver-nitrate sheets of film to take a picture of the field generated by an item/person.

A leaf ripped in half will still produce the aura of its missing section – faint but it is there. Same for an amputee.

Broken bones will show up with a distinct change on the film.

Percieving the aura




This section contains a description of the aura and how it is often perceived.

We all share a distinctive aura which others may perceive and use to identify us. Our vampiric signature is most obviously expressed in the auras of priests and least obvious in the auras of counselors. We may also perceive this aura as well as the auras of others. This perception occurs on the subtle level and enables us to gain information about those around us.

Essentially, the aura is the subtle body where it extends beyond the limits of the physical body. As we constantly tread upon the threshold of spirit and matter, our subtle bodies are much larger than those of ordinary folk, and they extend far around us, depending upon our self-mastery, energy level, and level of power.

The aura can be perceived in several relatively thin layers of almost-light which extend just beyond the skin. If you look for actual, physical light extending around the body like a halo, you will miss the subtle nuances of the actual aura.

The aura may appear textured, most often like a liquid -- oily, rippling, misty. It is not static but fluid and is constantly though subtly changing. It can be perceived through touch as warmth or as a subtle tension or pressure that is almost there beneath your fingers.

Its essence is subtle and thus our experience of it is subtle. Perception of the aura is ultimately something which must be intuited, perceived by insight more than with our ordinary senses.

all it is is the energy you emit from your body.... colors vary according to the person... some people can't even see colors... its more of a sensory thing about them.. and those aura quizes... completly bogus... i'm surprised you even paid the slightest bit of attention to it.

its mainly the level of negative or positive engery.... have you ever met someone and automatically not like them just by being in the presence of them????

dont go with the quiz answer. go get a pic of your aura and have them explain it. a lot of metaphysical stores have Kirlian photography

I did the quiz a few times putting in various (yet still honest) options, and I got a few different colours... so this quiz is not a reliable one. As has been mentioned already, go have your aura tested.... that's the best and most accurate result. :)

Interesting thread...I used to draw auric portraits for my friends years back...I myself have never seen a black aura...I see auras around living things as bands of light...around people there can be many layers and sometimes there are concentrated colors on different parts of the body...some not all may even have symbols or sigils within their auras...anyway I'm just speaking from my personal experience with this stuff...I've not researched it and certainly wouldn't attempt to come across as an expert in auras...I see them...that's all...
