Where do you think we go when we die? Is their some kind of Valhallah, or just a blackened abyss? What makes you believe this?
I think we wait in a level between life and death...till we are reincarnated into another life....may it be animal or man
interesting, what do you think created us? Are we just here and reoccouring? or is their some kind of higher entety?
well I believe in a higher power...though I am not sure what that is....and well I think we were at first created...as a soul to be put into a body...and that soul lives on forever...just as a different being each time we are reborn
I also thing that we are put in some type of place, i really do not know where until we are reincarnated maybe it is where we can see deceased family and friends before we are reincarnated...
I believe that when we depart this plane that we are brought to the next . Call it what ever you will . Heaven hell ect. I read a book once called a world theology on religion that really made me think . Since then I have done away with labels for these things .
yes i believe in a higher power, dont get me wrong. but personally i dont belive in life after death, well except undead that is. we die we are eat and your energy is passed to a new orgenism
What do you think about a god, is their sompthing, or someone who put us here or are we just exsistant, evolved from an ameba? And if their is a god and you belive in reincarnation, why would he (or she) want us to stay here? Why torture us with the evils of this world?
let me put how I feel about it this way.....
I feel our soul is always helping the earth in some way.....that while we are 'in waiting for a new body' we are part of the earth
I believe we'll end up in Walhalla. I don't thing that when we die, that it all ends. But we'll know the truth when our time is up.
I don't know...I mean, I think about all the possibilities, and then I wonder...Does it really matter?
Not being mean...I just tend to concentrate more on living my life. I can't help the fact that I will die some day...And it is scary not knowing...but I want to work more on living you know?
I've thought about it over and over again, I do think that perhaps there is some sort of afterlife. After seeing things, experiencing certain elements in life...I can't help but think that there is something.
I hope there is, I'd feel sad if it's just the end and then nothing, nada...Of course, if that's the case, when it happens, you won't notice, because you're dead and end of story.
Pretty much, either way, we win ^.^ :P
Death is a cessation of existence. There is no black. There is nothing.
There must be something else. For each person it may be different according to their beleifs. I think there is a place to go where you sort out your mistakes this time round and bide your time until you get to "go" again.
I think we simply die...cease to exist...stop living...
I think that when we die we kinda go to a medium place. We meet our maker and go through my life with him. If we do not "pass his test" we will be sent back here again until we get it right. Then we go on to "Heaven". I feel that here on earth is "Hell". We just keep comin back to we get it right. I believe this. I have visited many churches and talked to several people of different faith. I just feel like this is how it is. My father feels the same way. Hope that's what you was askin for.
If that is true then everythig is pointless, their is no meaning to life and to nature and everything around us. You must belive in sompthing, or life is that much more difficult to live.
Wouldn't it be nice if we all KNEW what was going to happen to us when we die?
Have you ever noticed at a funeral that no one looks the same when they was alive? The soul has moved on. Your body is just a shell.. but the soul lives forever.
I believe there is a God. Something put all of this together.
The thing about that is we will never know where we go, untill we die. We have to live by faith, and if faith has to be blind, then so it shall be. The point of religion is to supply hope to your life, that their is more than 'this'. If you belive in sompthing, anytrhing, it shows that you lead a more happy joyous life.
Why do you have to believe in a supernatural being or an afterlife to be happier? This blows my mind.
If your exsistance just ends at death then why go on, you would have to live in fear of this every day. I go to church and I do not fear death, because I know where I am going when I die, not just a vast nothingness...
I don't fear it. I accept it and live my life. Because YOU would be like that doesn't mean everyone is.
There isn't a "vast nothingness." There is nonexistence. Just to clarify.
Their has to be something more than to be born, live for 70 to 90 years and die, that is why i believe that we reincarnate, and i think that their is a place that we will go to see family and friends before we reincarnate to a new body...
We the people reincarnate to a new body the afterlife .. I don't know how many life to get it right of the wrong doing on our past life.
i believe that after we die we go either to Heaven or Hell after we are sperated from our earthly bodies
I dont belive in heaven or hell i believe in reincarntion
I believe the discussion of the afterlife vs religious belief is a good way for society in general to cope with a strong fear of death itself. What if vs what is. Why dreams exist, why spirits appear...Fear of the unknown draws many conclusions, but when an individual does pass then comes back...They say they saw a bright light? This may be a subconsious reflex the mind gives out as the world around them fades and only a small bit of light is left. But if that individual claims to have stood beside their body, the experiance may change their mind about what is spirit vs ethereal. My point is, death is an imminent fact, no one escapes from it, but when we do pass, there is another plain of existance, otherwise the phenomena of the paranormal would not exist at all.
with nothingness in your future, then every moment you are not making actively count is time wasted, and everything you learn in life, is pointless, the trials in life serve no purpose if by the time you are experienced enough to really know anything then it's time to die...
if you pass on to something else after death...
then those experiences are not lost and wasted, but from the view of nothingness after life, then thats exactly what happens, all that experience is basically wasted
I honestly think it's the end --- I'm so consumed with thoughts of death -- I hate it .
I believe I will enter a place that my thoughts, words and deeds have in part created for me.
One reason I believe this is because I have many times been given evidence of survival etc.
I guess it all depends how you were as a person as to where you go when you're done with this world....
Excellent point Daermon, if knowledge which is learned is a waste of time, why is there knowledge to be learned?
I'm not sure what I believe in as I have never really thought about it, but I guess that it all comes down to each their own.
I believe that we do go on to another place where ever that maybe and we are met there by our friends and family.
I believe after we die our spirit goes to a different relm. A higher plain.
i believe there is a after life i have seen it. there is a place that people stay when they dunno they are dead there has to be because i was in this house one time at a friends house and we were making a drink in her kitchen and a glass flew across the kitchen into living room and into the fire place and it scared the crap out of me that is when i began to get into the dead
I believe in an after life as I believe in reincarnation as well. I have experienced past life memories and know that my soul is on a journey to obtain knowledge and understanding of myself and life.
In that belief I feel there are levels of existance that we barely know much about but many understand and have glimpsed their existance. I have no proof, any more that I have proof the air we breath is there. So this is just a personal belief for me that I share with countless others.
I'm not sure what I believe on this topic. I don't think that there could be a "Black abyss" though. There is either something or nothing. Something to me would mean an afterlife. Someplace that our consiousness goes after our body dies. Nothing would be like a light switch we just kind of turn off when we die. there would be no thought or feeling after death. To me a "Black abyss" would meen that there is thought but nothing else. I don't see that happening.
i believe in reincarnation and to mention there may be a place where we see loved ones and friends ect ect but we really dont know till it happens
Nice take Madvampgoddess. I had never thought about where reincarnation might fit in to the whole thing.
Im really not sure..its a great question...i want to believe that we go sum where better but doesnt everybody?...something in my gut tells me that its just a black abyss...but i guess im just gunna have to see it for myself sumday..lol
I believe that I will never truly believe in what happens after I die.
I guess I'll know when I get there.
It's impossible to determine, short of death.
I think afterlife depends on what you believe, i believe there is a Valhallah, were all my ancestory will be there from the being of time to welcome me. I will also beable to spend it with the woman i married and all her ancestory
I don't know that I believe in anything as of yet. I have struggled with this for many years. I have no reason to believe that I am a reincarnated soul, but even though I am 21 years old, there are times in wich the inside of me feels so much older and there is a past lurking in there. But as I have said, I don't know that for sure. I have no dreams or memories of past lives.
As for what made us, who truly knows? God maybe... A product of science... There's only one way to find out and I have a good 50 years left before I take that route.
I believe that where we will go depends on the kind of person we are. Hopefully we go to where our loved ones await us.
i used to go to church alot with my grandparents when they died i questioned alot of things the faith they taught me and i'll the stuff i read about, draws up my thoughts of the afterlife
When we die, we play saxaphones for an all-girl cabaret.
I know this because Hobbes told me.
/humor
I believe that there is a afterlife....I just hope its better than this one :)
I am one of those old fashioned believers in Heaven and Hell..Sue me LOL. I have faith that I will either go to one place or another. Like everything else, there is no proof..just faith.
i think we float some where between heaven and earth wating to return watching over our loved ones. i dont know why i think that it makes me feel good i guess
I believe in afterlife. Nobody actually knows what happens after we die. There has been proof of people dying and then being brought back to life.
So... Who knows. Nobody really does.
You'll just have to wat til you go.
You go 6 feet under. end of discusion... or until I see something to make me believe different.
I honestly don't know what to believe anymore. My faith has fallen.
i think we rot in the ground.there is no proof of an actual heaven existing.
We are energy. Energy can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only change forms. Does that mean we continue as a soul, or a thought, or an entity, who knows? Something continues, but is it awareness? Don't know.
I think it depends on what you believe. If you believe in Hell or Heaven. How you live you life.
i dont know if there is for sure or not. and why does it matter? we should be good and just to people with ot without a final judgemnet because it is the right thing to do.
i believe our bodies rot in the ground but our souls levate up to a Higher plane and we reside there till brought back
Reincarnation only makes sense to me if one can remember and learn from previous lives. Since this doesn't appear to be the experience most people have, I tend to believe there is nothing after life.
This is it. Make the most of it or make room for someone else to have a shot.
I kinda feel same as what cherryblossom mention in the secund post in this topic.
I'm non-fundamentalist Christian and do believe in an afterlife... for me it really comes down to a matter of personal belief - and the fact that humans have so much potential, but tend to be sharply limited by the time allotted to their physical body...
Maybe the afterlife is what people wants it to be, if you believe in heaven and hell then that is where you are going, and if you believe in reincarnation than you will be reincarnated, for me i will be reincarnated...
Personally, I think we just stop existing. This isn't based on any concrete proof, mind you, but I personally couldn't conceive of an existance that literally lasted forever. You'd go insane after a certain point, or your soul would become so alien that it would in no way resemble the human being from which it sprung. Personally, I prefer the idea of eternal nothingness to eternal existance; after a while, they'd both be the same, I think.
Ever since the experience (my first kind of experience like this) where I saw the spirit of my deceased grandmother, I have believed that we all have spirits that live inside us which give us our memorys and thought, opinions and feelings, which make us love and hate. I believe that when our physical body dies that our spirit leaves our body and roams around until they find a new home
