what are some ways that you can communicate with the dead...


i heard of ouija boards...but what about through tv's like in white noise? does that work or is it fake...

Well I have had those that pass on come to visit me during mediations so I think that centering yourself and letting the spirit world know that your open and ready to listen to them is a one way to go about it.

I have seen automatic writing work and it gave me a chill but it was really good lol. I have use the ouija board myself and it was scary so I sort of never did it again because it was actually working lol.

yeah i used it b4 and my friend said that i never closed the portal thinggy and well lets just say things went flying in her house and room and she had to burn it...i wanna get one tho.

While I am in no way such a person, I allow for the possibility of some people being so very hyper-sensitive that they do attract what can be argued as the energy of the "afterlife". I have no facts to lend, just pure conjecture.

Some believe in Ouija, witchboards and tarot. They also believe in reading bones, communing during the witching hour in the cemetery and other mediums. I've witnessed none of these activities. However, i will not say it isn't possible. John Edwards managed a career, did he not?

I have tired the board but at the time the people I was dealing with were not serious. I have also just lost a loved one and I have begun to wonder if the young can see spirts my sister little girl says she talks to my mother.

In truth they are with us still in the memories or mutual friends, those that store something about the person you lost, memories that are incomplete are easily filled in by visiting with those people. This allows a person to advance from grief, as well as gather those that hold the deceased as dear as you.Building an altar, is key to studying your loved ones life. when we do so we invite their memory to influence us to adorn the altar as they would want it. Giving us moments of focused reflection. Those that exploit others in grief are the lowest scum there is. Knowing what I do about the "Trade" Sometimes makes me wish spirits where able to communicate from beyond, and with everyone, not just "hack shop" mediums.

I communicat with those near and dear to me that have pass on in my dreams. We talk and they help figure out things. to each their own

There are many ways to communicate with the other side, such as the "ouija board", scrying believe it or not; when the other side write for you with pen in hand, through seance channeling the other side, pendulums, gyromancy, etc.

Just be very careful on how you proceed, never know what lingures around you.

The only way I have heard about are the ouija board as mentioned and seances. Although now that this is mentioned I have read a bit about Astral travel where you can be with someone even if you are not there physically i wonder if that would work with the dead as well or if it is just the living that you can astral travel to.

As I had mentioned in a differant forum thread, the astral plain is one of several. Unfortunatly I have not had the experiance of meeting any individual that has passed on through the astral level. Only through the meta etheric level can you have this advantage.

Never used a ouija bored my self but my mom told me she did one time and knives flew across the room. Personaly I don't beleive that happened but she swears to this day that is did.

Well, I am inclined to believe your mother about the knifes. I used the ouija as a point to show my friends that it does work. After a while of ignoring the board while still in session without saying "goodbye", the pointer flew across the room...Scared the crap out of them.

Something called "direct dialing" where you can ask for guidance from a lost one and wait for signs of communication, using a Medium, prayer, Pendulum, Ouija Board, automatic writing and channeling, seances, Crystallomancy which is akin to self-hypnosis and Nostradamus was said to of used this process.

You can use pendulums for yes/no questions, some people go into trances and allow the spirit to temporarily take over their body and use their hands to write messages on paper....there's several ways of communicating. Always use caution when doing so though.

As has been said, there are so many ways.

Before you consider any of them I would advise you think about why you would want to communicate in the first place.

I think the easiest and best way, is from the heart.

Be quiet and relax, speak or think the words and know that they are heard.

In time you will learn how to listen, perhaps see and feel.

I'm a fan of the pendulum, and also automatic writing, though I haven't done it for years. If you're lucky enough to have a spirit guide they can sometimes act as a go-between too.

I have watched 'flat liners' ... theyw ere killing each other and then being resuscitated to see what they could learn while dead ... don't think that's such a wise method though

Ok I know it's a rather silly source but I was thinking about other methods not usually discussed (since there's dozens of threads on the ouija already) and I remembered the scene in the movie "The Order" (Starring Heath Ledger) wherein a man was hanged and his dying words were a form of prophecy or communication with the dead.

I'm wondering if there's methods in history and reality with such extreme forms of ritual where a dying person was used as the medium (perhaps unwillingly) to contact the dead.

The dead can commune with anyone willing to listen, however a micro recorder works well also, ask the spirit quistions and pause for it to respond, let it know you wish to hear what it has to say. Play the tape back and often you may find what they call EVP's. Responces to your ?'s.

If I was to touch a ouija board I would do a prayer of protection 1st. For you may open a portal you do not want. Mine comes through meditation & through like a slide show in my mind of events & those who pass over to visit. I also use scrying with water and black ink.

How to channel a spirit. Locate an obituary. Read about the person who visits your shop the day before. Now just like doing a job screening comb through their back ground. Add to this info any hints or confided info you already obtained from the grieving person.
On the day of the reading keep things positive, yet reveal that there is unrest in the after life... the deceased is struggling to pass since they stayed behind for so long they need to have candles burned for them. They will come to the greived and touch them one last time, during a seance. Then you set up the seance and blow bubbles in their face for about 200 bucks.

a parlor game as well. just talk to the people the deceased knew that you never got to know, have friends remind you of what you have shared with them of the person that died. Why be so subtle about mourning. read journals the person left behind. Gather all their items and commit to memory the things you glean, why dwell on what is past, focus on what is physical.

Personally I meditate and use that to communicate with passed ones.

Going to a cemetary where a love one is buried I had felt a strong vibe when talking to my grandparents.. It was weird at first but I realize that some psychic ability was there to let me hear voices as if they were talking back to me.

hey i didnt burn the board my friends dad did b/c this one spirit wouldnt leave her alone.. sad thing was she kinda predicted his death and now the spirit hates her.. hes around her age....and died when he was a lil kid. but he throughs stuff at her and around her house... hes mad.... real mad...

Soulshroude listed a few excellent suggestions. I've used a pendulum before, as well as scrying. With the pendulum, you can arrange the letters of the alphabet on a board or piece of paper, and ask the spirit its name using yes or no questions with the letters. The Ouija board, I have found, is an excellent tool, if you're not averse to using it.

I also do exercises, like meditation and journeying, to communicate with the dead. One exercise that has been helpful for me is sitting in stillness, and listening to the sounds around me. This has been helpful with increasing clairaudience.

It's really important to practice shielding and protective measures when communicating with the dead. It is possible to encounter unfriendly entities of all kinds. There are many ways to do this, and you can find what works best for you.

i believe you can talk to them through anything, just go where they were predominately at, there will be more spirit energy to connect with

ive heard of communication thru meditation,ouija boards,and writing without thinking..thats the only way i can think to explain the last one...you sit with a pen and paper,yet dont try to write.it just happens.

ouija boards never worked for me and i've never actually tried communicating through televisions and white noise. i usually communicate with the deceased through dreams, almost like they come to me in dreams and help guide me.

Here are a few ways I have seen used:

By pendulum. Hold the pendulum and ask yes or no questions. Clocks ways is yes counter clock ways is no

EVP work using a tape recorder, asking questions and then listening to see if you can here and answer on the tape.

There is also a form of writing.... I'm not sure what it is called but it's when you take a blank paper and a pen and just kind of let your self be possessed by a spirit and then that spirit writes.

That's just a few that I know about.

There are a lot of ways, many already mentioned.

Ouija boards - make sure that you have one or more friends close by.

EVP - Electronic voice phenomenon. Can provide results and is fairly easy and can be done at a low cost, but if you want be sure of your results, invest in some good equipment.

Pendulum - not so sure how to make contact by using these but there is a brilliant answer further up.

A mirror - sit in front of a large mirror and call for them, this works if you are focused but I will, like the Ouija boards advice caution.

The best way would be wait and let them contact you. If they want to be heard, then they will let you know.

Why I advice caution is partially because you are dealing with open channels and anything can come through. Secondly, the human mind is a sneaky little thing. When trying this, because you need to focus, your mind can easily play tricks on you and worst case scenario is that you will end up in a mental institution.

I also have another way people can also communicate with the dead because the dead is said to leave behind spirits so what about taking a walk through a cemetery and just listen to whats around you.

You can "Talk" to the dead all you like...but they are dead...they can't talk back.

I dont think you can talk to the dead. All the stuff you see in movies is just fantasy to make the movie good otherwias who would watch them

i have a friend who acts as a medium when people are trying to contact the dead. he is the one who sits there and tells the living what the dead want to say and vice versa.

Psychic Reading

DEEP meditation. You can communicate with those on the other side through what some call, the dream realm.

EVP's or electronic voice phenominons. You simply ask a quistion out loud, while running a digitial recorder, then play it back later, often responces will be heard on the recorder that you could not hear with the human ear.

So a digital recorder would pick up on those voices? How does that work? Is it because digital recorders pick up on a wider range than the human ear or..?

It is called white noise. Another way of communicating is using white noise. A frequense between frequensees. It is also very helpful to tinitus.

See if they had journals while they where here. Ask the church they went to for there prayer journal, spiritualist churches have lots of information on your loved one .. if they ever been to one. But just ask for the information.. not a sitting you can use that information to fill the gaps left by their departure just as well. Gathering friends of a departed person (after a private mourning) to collectilly grieve through merriment and roast even, that is how you raise the a spirit. As well as fortify the ones left behind. Every body waits until after someone dies to ask those questions.. perhaps that is side effects of such sensationalism, clouding a subtle possiblities.

i've gone to a medium and they seemed to look like they knew what they were doing but then again it's their job to look competent communicating with the dead. he wasn't completelly right in the things he was saying so i don't believe it 100%.

I use EVP's to communicate, and it works. I also have in my real life coven about 5 people that are mediums, including my best friend and HPS.

Ouiji boards are not a good source to communicate through since they also open the door to evil

If you are truly in tuned with those that you are seeking to reach, you will simply feel them.

Ouija board are dangerous to use because of the door way it opens into our world, how ever if your open minded and wish dearly to speak with passed on soul remember to just open your heart and they will come to you.

There are spells & chants you can use to try to communicate. You can also use Pendulums but those will only work for a yes & no answer. A Oujia board is only dangerous if you start using it with bad intentions. If you use it with a loving heart then nothing bad will happen.

i believe we can talk to the dead in our dreams

Well for me...they just come to me in dreams and make themselves known for whatever reason. Sometimes to guide, and sometimes not. I've never used any kind of tools to try and communicate with them, but i am happy with just being able to mentally connect to them when THEY decide. :)

In my opinion, the easiest way is to just speak to them. I really don't think that the dead can even hear us. They have moved on to another realm and have no connection with this one...unless for some reason they are still in this realm.

In that case I believe that they will show themselves to us at their discretion.

Ouija boards have worked for me. I don't know of any other way to communicate with the dead that works besides the ouija. On tv on the show Ghost Hunters, they just use a voice recorder to communicate.

Ouija boards are really not to be used unless one is willing to accept what might come thru. I would not suggest using this form of communication
A article the person once wore or owned is sufficient with most mediums and the like.And it doesn't have to be a big gathering of people either.A single person can do it if the "spirit" pardon the pun,is willing.

i have worked with quija boards and dont like doing that often. i have often felt the spirit of those i wish to speak to near. and speak outloud to them letting them know i sense their precense.

Its interesting how the majority of people on VR think ouija boards are bad and or shouldn't be used and that it brings all forms of evil. All a ouija board is is a type of divination tool. Does anybody hear anything bad happen when people use tarot cards? Just a thought.

About Tarot Cards..I've heard that the reading can be tampered with but not sure if that's true. Not sure it's true about the Ouija board becoming some kind of doorway either. I think if one is trying to communicate with spirits...just use your common sense and remember that they aren't bound by our rules and they are free energy and there's no telling who or what you'll be encountering. ;)

I haven't heard of anything bad happening to anyone who uses tarot cards either.

I also would think that the Ouija board used would have to be an authentic one or handmade, instead of the Parker Brothers version. Right?

I have never used or wanted to use a ouija bored because I believe them to be malevolent beings and nothing ever good comes from them. My dad and them used one and I asked it a question, but never touched the board itself. They were using a shot glass for the pointer. I asked, "Do you believe in God?"

The shot glass flew past my head and broke against the wall.

Ouija boards are dangerous. I see some agree with me. I am in "tuned" with the dead, especially my family members. But I would suggest finding a good psychic. Many of the people on VR are reasonably honest, and a post may be the right thing for you to do. I have my own personal ways of communication, but with a little research, and an honest heart, you will find your answers.

In about somewhere less than 60 years I will have all eternity to communicate with the dead. I think I wil worry about it then.

I agree with the comments on EVP’s, it’s probably the safest way to communicate. You really don’t want to attract anything evil to you.

I have seen creepy thing happen with boards I stay away from them and messing with the dead. If someone thats dead wants to speak with you or get a message to you they will find a way.
