I was wondering about the music you like, and my question is this, "What music do you listen to, that you just couldn't tell your friends, for fear of ridicule?". ;) You know you sing to John Denver's, "Country Roads", in the shower. I've seen you singing, "One more time", by Britney, in your cars...
hey nothing wrong with country roads :D hehehehe i did say in the post that although country is a fav i do like some songs and that happens to be one of them hehehehe
apart from that i'm semi partial to celine dion, boyzone and enrique inglesias (only coz he's damn sexy, and he can put his slippers under my bed any night!!!!)
there thats my confesion.... ::goes and hides::
oops typo.... isn't a fav (almost a hypocrit) lol oh gosh now there's spelling mistakes :S
Well (all my mates know this anyway but take the mick) I own every Eminem album there was and have the film on Tape and am also thinkin about buyin his biography not ashamed though
okies.... so i wasn't completely open and honest.... eminem is a fav of mine.... more so my sis, but i do like a lot of his songs... and savage garden when they were together... and you can't beat some of the golden oldies from the 70's and 60's.... but my music taste is soooo varied lol (digs even deeper hole) metal and stuff is just what i listen to more often.... but my mood dictates the style of music... ::hides again::
A band I'll still listen to now because its part of my childhood is The Lightning Seeds
I would have to offer up my fondness for Rodney James Dio.
Being ashamed of anything I listen to would be like being ashamed of part of who I am.
I have driven around with Vanilla Ice and Sugar Hill gang blasting loud enough to be heard a block and a half away.
(Oh... and V. Ice is awesome live. His newer stuff is nothing like his early stuff that was basically all controlled by the record label he was on)
And I have to comment on Eminem.... Granted, he's got a lot of good songs out, a few I actually like. I attribute most of that to Dre, but that's beside the point. From what I've gathered from multiple sources..... 90% of what he's said about growing up in the suburbs of Detroit are pure lies.
1) (rant on) This topic has been done many times in many incarnations. New members REALLY should go way back into the forums to see if "their" topic has been done, prior to starting one. (rant off)
2) It's RONNIE James Dio.
lmao I'm not ashamed of it ... but I do like 3 songs that marilyn manson did .. that other bands had done...
Tained love
I put a spell on you
sweet dreams are made of these.
but I can tell ya .. I refuse to buy his albums cuz the other stuff sux .. and most of my friends wouldnt ridicule me for having the stuff just kinda wrinkle there nose ... but in agreeance with me on it sounds damn good in my car lol
heh don't get yer panties in a bunch Jason. :P i wouldn't wanna scroll back 100 pages just to see if it existed previously either. i'll go back about 2-3 pages. that's it. other than that it's too much and i get bored.
now...
i do have britney spears 'i'm a slave 4u'
and christina aguilara's 'dirty', 'beautiful' and 'fighter'.
oh yeah.
Oh ... Squid ...
But then, I've no room to talk.
Rick Springfield. Yes. Rick Springfield. My shameful delight.
* removes head from sand *
i like some of prince's or the artist formanlly known as prince, or the artist ( whatever the hell his name is now-a-days) songs.
i also like N.E.R.D
ok, enough
* ducks head back in sand *
i like him :o]
and it's formally damnit
god i hate typos
YESSSSS
i kept looking at te screen
and saying "something does not look right "
ArgH
thanks so much. I hate when i think in Spanish and type in Enlgish and vice versa.
I spelled it right. I used it in the wrong context.
silly me
thanks again :o]
:)
I like teasing people about spelling. I sometimes suck so terribly at it. I don't mean it in a snide way, so i hope it doesn't come across like that.
I understand about thinking in one language and tying in another ... in IM's I catch myself asking questions in German at times. Get some ODD responses.
i like some country music , not all but some...so i listen to it when im by myself LOL
also i love oldies, like the beatles, the electric light orchestra, zed zepplin, elvis etc.. - most of my friends dont so i just keep it to myself
hehe
Josh Groban-I think he has a fantastic voice, but I get teased a bit. Also, Duran Duran. Not ashamed to admit it, I just hate the ragging on me. I also admit to Rick Springfield
if I would tell some of my friends that i sometimes like to listen to real punkmusic they would hate me
Elton John's Tiny Dancer...yea that would be one they would disdain me for.
Oh well its still a good song.
*Dan inhales and then belts out...
I'm saaaaaailing awaaaaaaay...
Set an open course for the virgin seeeee.
'Cuz I've GOT TO be Freeeee!
Free to face the life that's ahead of me!
Er, um... mine would be "Come Sail Away" by Styx.
D
oh man Josh Groban makes me *melt*.
specially when he sings in italian. oh my word. gosh golly gee willikers and such.
please excuse my uncultured nature, but is Josh Groban that guy from American Idol?
gerk gods no!
you can find sounds clips of him on amazon.com.
if you like opera-ish stuff even remotely. oh he's the man to listen to. puts me in the mood for love. or something.
nope...josh groban is the most beautiful man ever to hit the opera genre
him along with charlotte church make the greatest duet of life...

heavenly voices
i should broaden my musical horizons. I love andrea bocceli (sp?) and charlotte church. Ill check him out . thanks for the opera lesson. lol
if you like charlotte church then you should love sarah brightman. oh lordy.
now i like charlotte and all but she's still learning. and i only like sarah brightman when she does opera or broadway. her attempts to do anything outside that suck ass which is odd considering her amazing talent and voice. *drool*
andrea bocelli is also an amazing opera singer. such a rich voice. my top 3 favs are josh, sarah and andrea. mmmyeah.
for a nice duet:
charlotte church and sarah brightman - pie jesu
and my other fav
andrea bocelli and sarah brightman - con te partiro
i have that duet downloaded ( sarah brightman and andrea bocelli * )
it is incredible.
i love it when sarah does phantom of the opera. makes me cry everytime. such a pure voice that woman has.
oo ooo. just went through my opera section and found another to listen to.
sarah brightman and jose cura - just show me how to love you
me thinks i'll have to check him out some more. mmmm.
i can not listen to that song. my heart is too fragile right now. maybe later.
good suggestion though
Actually...The music I listen to is very eceltic, so I'm not ashamed to admit I listen to anything, if I actaully listen to it.
I like Metal, Blues, Jazz, Swing, Showtunes, Punk Rock, Goth, even Lounge Act music......and that's all I can think of at this moment.
If I was going to admit to being embarrassed about liking something it would be.......
(crap, sorry.....I'm trying to think of something for it, but I can't think of anything. Oh wait! Got something!)
I like it when I get my nails done before a rock show I'm doing....it relaxes me.
And before anyone judges me.....I ain't stopping....so there.
Sometimed, I like to listen to those sad songs that make you feel all mooooshie inside. . . you know those weird love songs...or when you want to cry those songs that will make you like weeping...lol I am lost..
eek um alicia keyys and josh gorban *hides in a corner* i knowwww it horrible!! wah!!
yeah i really loved the one song where she sings that nothing matters like dimond rings and stuff unless she has who she really loved and cared for *sigh* why must i be a romantic lol
i think her voice is amazing.
lol, we all have a little bit of romantic within us.
i think her voice is amazing.
lol, we all have a little bit of romantic within us.
yeah i agree i just wish i could someday have a pretty voice like her!! *trys to sing and it sounds like a dog dieing* okay maybe sometime in the far far future!! lol
From one end of the spectrum to another, *Disco* to *Classical Piano*
ok * hides face* this is REALLY REALYL BAD but umm hilary duff. *crys running away*
being a dj and a karoke host i dont get embarressed about any music i feel it is a form of expression and like what you will more power to you i like that song you raise me up by josh g.
Not assamed of any music I listen too. I'm pretty open to all kinds of music.
I listen to styx meatloaf and queen proudly. when no one else is around
how wonderful to have so many spiffy responses! funny too....thank you for your interaction. =) i will throw in a few...Neil Diamond, all 80s music, Bread, Britney, 70s music(George Clinton-Atomic Dog(Bow wow wow-where Snoop got his mixin'--Oh, now I have to play that song.), even Milli Vanilli....gawd...I could go on forever. I LOVE MUSIC!! It's so cool to see how everyone is open to different horizons. =) Thanks, RabdSquid, btw. =)
Rabdsquid...i just went on & got a whole bunch of the new music from Josh Groban today....hes awesome. cant get enough of his handsome looks and his heavenly voice...

i thought of another......."Grease" (grease is the word....), by frankie valli, or the other from that movie, "you're the one that i want". :P
hey, i love those songs...
i actually sing to them sometimes...they are one of those songs that never go out of style...in my opinion
*smiles*
good choice Jaime =)
Theres no music that I'm really ashamed or embarrased to listen to, just music that's in my collection that I don't know why I liked them in the first place, like Linkin Park and Evanesence...
But as far as music that doesnt seem to fit in my collection, there would be:
Limp Bizkit, because he actually sounds good when he sings, rather than raps.
U2, good ol' 80's music.
Queen, but then again, who doesn't like Queen??
and... Billy Idol, gotta love 80's punk.
same as Memnoch there and add Stevie Nicks, Dr Hook, Alice Cooper and The Doors to that list just to name a few.. but I listen to what I like, and normally alone so *shrugs*
though since alot of my music dissappared I've had to rebuild my collection.. can't remember everything I had hehe
I dig mariachi music. Did I spell that right? Oh, and the occassional Gregorian Chant.
And crickets. Crickets rock. THAT is the true music of the night. heheh
i'm confused about whatever i did Jamie but uh your welcome? :)
you are also welcome DarknessBound. i love listening to music that's done by extremely talented musicians/artists. music that can make me cry...now that's something. gives me chills.
Oki
I gotta post in this one.... I have like the most broad taste
* Spice Girls
*Take that
* back street boys
*The ketchup song
* margarita song and yes i dance to it too lol
*heaps of old funk and even Right Said Fred
would I tell my friends about all this? Who do you think burned the cd's for me!!!
In my stacker right now is:
Type o - life is killing me
Jamie Cullem - twenty something
An italian artist you wouldn't know called Raf
A mixed cd of spanish dance music
Rebirth of Cool - Volume 7
and finally, the best of nina simone.
I have a weird taste in music...I love Slipknot and will tell anyone that...but, I also know all the words to most Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls and Britney Spears songs. And I know everything by NSync...for I used to be obsessed with them. -.-' Oh, and I also have The Rocky Horror Picture Show soundtrack that nobody (not even my family) knows I own. Hah. And at the moment, I'm listening to Spanish regge. O_o And some stuff by Shania Twain is good. And some other country stuff that I don't know what it is because I was too little to remember. And some rap and hip-hop and r&b. And I love in instrumental Harry Potter and Pirates of the Caribbean soundtracks. ^_^ ... >_>
moonstruck, spanish reggea ...would that be reggeton? if so...that music r0ks. @ least to get freaky on the dance floor...hehe
squid - i know what you mean, i love music that can make me feel emotions...it usually means they are doing something right! =)
moreish - LOL @ the margarita song, i think everyone dances to that, its awesome!...especially while drinking margaritas ;)
Jason- my dear yes you are correct, it is spelled Mariachi....i know...my father is obssesed with them, i've been listening to them since i was in the womb...still, he jams to it on the max when there is any party at my house...he usually gets the boo's from the relatives but still plays it anyway...i even know the words to the songs! lol...i never thought id see the day where i saw someone who liked them too aside from my dad LOL - kool deal =)
& with the Gregorian Chant, i had to study that on my music appreciation class...pretty cool stuff. i have some chants myself...i especially liek the kiery (sp?)...its really ancient, & beautiful. props on that =)
Ok ok Wierd Al!!! Everytime a normal version comes up I pipe in where Wierd Al alters the lyrics and lmao.
Oh and for those that caught Dans belching the song 'come sail away' I've seen him do it in person....he's goooood.
if im driving around aimlessly in my car and happen to stumble upon a bubble gum pop song, i must admit that i will sing along.
i have sang along to britney spears, n' sync, back street boys, christina aguilera, and other mickey mouse club rejects. The music is contagious. I can't help but sing.
Ok. Now I do not despair of this confession. :)
*mumbles* I like Shaggy.
*grooves along with Boombastic.*
I love "Devil went down to Georgia"
by the violin king Charlie Daniels Band
that song kiks ass
and "a boy named sue" by the man in black Johnny Cash
i like how it ended lol
there i said it
and im proud of it!
Well I used to be ashamed to admit it but now I don't care...I love Phil Collins :p
*sings to phill collins*
i also listen to some vanilla ice ---but shhh dont tell anyone ;)
lol
IICE IICE BABYYYY!!!!!!!
(lol jason =P)
Ok I don't know how old this post is mainly because I don't pay attention to the little things or the fine print lol. But I'll add my cheese to it. There is tons of sh*t, well what others may call sh*t , that I enjoy .....classical, some old 80's music, although I cannot stant the sl*t I like some Brittney Spears lmfao. Thats about it for what I can think may be a bit embarrassing. Oh and medieval and celtic music too.
I also listen to opera...but there is no way that I was and will ever be ashamed of that...I love to sing opera...especially in Italian...
I used to listen to Hanson for 2 weeks when I was 13 :s
Ok. Hanson. Now that's funny. They were those mmmmbop teeners, right?
LOL Requiem, yes they were....if i may add, they have grown to be quite the attractive bunch =)
and Fang, opera is awesome....it is only my wish to be able to visit Italy and attend to one...until then i may just dream and watch it on TV or listen to them...
but opera....grl..is the sh*t ;) LOL
Hanson and Shaggy...I forgot about them. lol. I used to love them.
"Honey came in and she caught be red-handed creepin with the girl next door..." Hah
Another I just thought of... Lou Bega. O_o The Mambo #5 dude! ^_^
mambo #5.. my mom starts dancing and singing to that song as if she were dancing to save her life. I dont blame her. That song is upbeat and rather catchy.
I like maroon 5 also. I dont know if thats something to be ashamed about, but yeah .. i always sing along enthusiastically.
omg mambo #5!!!!!!!!
my mom lvoes that song too...very very very very ctachy
hehehe
Elvis, Hound Dog
i looove that song its so cute
Ok, Elvis rocks.
NO WAY you need to worry about shame for liking a fat man in sequined satin.
I dig him.
Lady L I do the same damn thing with Wierd Al and EVERYone looks at me like I have 3 heads. Uncultured cretin!
I love that rap song " and the sweat drips down my balls"
yeah opera IS the shit...
hahah I've been to a Shaggy concert...the buggar was sick and shook my hand after having a toss and got his frigging vomit all over my hand...and then he hugged me :s...a memorable yet slighty nausiating memory.
Hanson...hey I said just two weeks :p
Now honestly...I can't stand Maroon 5...that boy's voice drives me nuts...I just want to strangle him at the best of times.
Mambo No 5. is a great song when you're plastered...
*whispering....
I LOVE BRITNEY SPEARS! I'm not afraid to admit it!
Muahhahahaha!
Oops! I did it again, baby, YEAH!
I'm too manly to admit to this thread...
~singing~
"running just as fast as we can,
holding onto one anothers hand,
trying to get away into the night and then you put your arms around me and we tumble to the ground and then you say...
I think we're alone now,
there doesnt seem to be anyone around,
oh' I think we are alone now
the beating of our hearts is the only sound......"
OK, so I love my Metal, I eat sleep and breathe metal. Well, almost...
I listen to ALOT of swing, like the Cherry Poppin' Daddies. Big Beatles Fan too. I have to admit to liking Eminem, hell I even own his 3rd CD. Should I ever feel the need, I will listen to bubbly pop like Toybox.
There, now you have the painful facts ;)
ha, Maharja, i know that song.....you are not fooling anybody. ;)
I ahve to admit I will tune in an 80's station and even if its Madonna or Ciny Lauper I listen because of the nostalgia yes there is better 80's but it was on when I grew up
Heh, i love most of the old Italian songs, especially when sung in dialect :))))
hehe not many know this, but Classical music, classical Asian music, and "staying alive - BeeGees"
T_T there u all know now T_T
Heavy metal, OI traditional skin, old punk, reggae, carribian, new age, rock, rockabilly, phycidellicrock=momma's and pappa's, phychobilly, country if it's about dying greeving or shooting someone, trance, jungle, gothic, electric gore, house, anything depressing like mazzy star, and the sin of them all old school WU-Tang Clan, RUNNING AWAY!!!
Allll right you drug it out of me...my deepest darkest secret LOL
Actually I listen to alot of the 80's dance stuff...you know like from 16 Candles and Breakfast club.....ROFLMAO...you just gotta love they way we danced back then >;^}
I tend to have alot of oddities in my mp3 collections, such as animaniacs the additive song, duran nurgle I think that's right (if you've seen the movie fern gully they do the music for that, if I recall correctly) alot of monty python some weird al,
had a couple of songs by the arrogant worms; carrot juice constitues murder and canadas really big ...also a couple xmas songs by Kevin Bloody Wilson...
I listen to latin dance music, oldies and opera when I am in the mood...
::poofs so no one hits her::
me....I listen to anything that happens to be playing....there is no specific style I don't like...I take each song on it's own merit...not each band....EACH SONG....
the only singer i can recall hearing that was absolute useless crap is celine dion
she needs to stop straining so hard to hit those notes...other than that she would have a great voice..
but ya..i'll listen to almost anything
i would much rather listen to dion than that screaching/howling/screaming demon mariah carey. those aren't notes she 'sings' and i'm not sure if you could ever identify what they are. makes my ears bleed.
Celine sings through her nose...maybe if we cram two basketballs up each nostril she'll sound normal...
80s dance music is great man! I have a bunch of 80s dance hits cds...for those dancing around in your bedroom in your underwear days...
Well, Me and my friends are so odd that we came up with a group and named it "The group of obviously weird people" so I don't have to worry about telling what I like, but if I had to say what songs I logve but my friends don't like are " Rapture- by Iio " & " I see right through to you- by DJ Encore " and A WHOLE bunch more, but I won't bore you any monger. ^_^ O_o
Ok, Squiddy, yer abso-fecking-lutely right. Mariah Carey has had operatic training ... (ashamed to say I watched a bio once) and whe uses it TO HURT PEOPLE (imho). I don't like listening to either her or Celine Dion. they both cause me pain.
i do have some britnay spears on my computer but its strickly for the club
FINE! *sob* Iadmit it! I actually LIKE sitcom themes!
*hums Brady Bunch and Gilligan's Island*
omg requiem i used to love that show...
i especially loved the episode when they showed mrs. brady getting married to mr. brady ...it was funny
oh also when they are older and go to hawaii
i love the brady bunch
LOL
i like the theme song to bewitched. It was so catchy even if it didnt have lyrics. I also like the Jeffersons ( moving on upppppppppp to the east side.. in a deluxe apartment in the skyyyyy.. moving on up ! )
wow, i love it.
aside from bewitched (i still watch it i love that show)
i dream of jeannie......so cute...
"oOo master!"
*pOof*
goth (who doesn't...... no seriously),
techno, darkwave, elcetronica, black metal, death metal, doom metal, some thrash and speed metal, ethieral ( don't know if that is spelled right but VOND oh yeah) , soundscapes, goo' 'ole fashin' rock and/or roll, classical, sympohonies, some opera, comedy(to a very very very small extent)*(except Notre Dame ahh bless their hearts), LOVE METAL ......
dam it sam i can't think of anything that i like that i am ashamed to admit, 'cause well i like it and horrible temporal DOOOM upon people that try and stop me muwahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!
One can also be abashed by guilty pleasures. There is no weakness in finding shameful joy.
::revisits Night People::
Yes, Dio.
"Do you like the dark
Do you like the way it moves
Do you come alive when neon
Kills the sun"
Req...
Mariah needs to get a refund. her lessons didn't pay off. she still sucks butt and doesn't come anywhere near close to sounding anything that sounds even remotely related to opera.
her music should come with a warning label. 'may cause brain tumors'
and as you can tell by my rambling on the little bit of Mariah crap that i have heard has already done its damage.
Er.... no I dont think there is anything that I wouldnt sing in public... my friends are really as embarassing as I am, so if I go out in a big group I can csing whatever I like and be blinded by their blunders!
xx
Dio is great. personally i adore the 80's hair metal bands. the real guitar gods. love all the other stuff that came out of the 80's too.
as a side note i'm giddy like a cheerleader knowing that my sweet arse will be seeing Queensryche on feb. 15th doing operation mindcrime in its entirety. and since my good boy hubby has us in the fan club...we get to go downstairs to meet the band again. oh yeah.
dirt off your shoulders by Jay Z..but when i was way younger what i used to listen to sometimes i lie about ever listening too...example: vanilla ice, new kids on the block, ahh....i've said too much.
I have the Fraggle Rock theme song on my comp and it makes me bounce in my chair. :)
ohh the shame *hangs head* i sing billy jole in my sleep
* goes bright red and runs off and shoves head in the sand and refuses to remove it*
Req: The Fraggle Rock so kicked a**, that show rocked my sox...I miss it, Trash Heap ruled.
To remain on subject this morning I woke and started singing;
"A wimbo way a wimbo way a wimbo way a wimbo way...In the jungle the mighty jungle the lion sleeps tonight..."
and bugger me I cant get it out of my
head.
So...all together now "I'n the jungle the mighty jungle..."
the lion sleeeps tonighttttttt
oh my, yes, i admit it.. i kind of sort of like that song.. a lot :oX
~winks~ at Deity
Of course another is...
"Sympathy for the devil" by The Stones (Hell Ya!)
and...
"Drops of jupiter" by Train
I find myself singing often while I am driving, showering, and eating fruit loops or cinnamon toasts. (the colection of colorful cereal I have)
I like Train fairly well..... And Counting Crows... saw them in concert with Live... that was a great show.
Sneaks in to the room... Whispers.... Survivor ~ Eye of the tiger~
Runs out..... crying...
the band....The Outfield.....the song ......Your Love.....*Josie's on a vacation far away*.....Dashes from the room !!!
oh well, since i'm collecting cds everywhere...lemme check. a justin timberlake album. lol
not that i'm ashamed of it. it's one of my collections anyway. ^-^
Hmm, I love the goldie oldies my Dad still plays.. I have an old fashioned gramophone player with orginial hard bakelit (sp) records. Dame Vera Lynn, Ella Fitzerald.. "I'm crazy for loving you" is one of my favs!
oh yes, and etta james, billie holiday, too! the flamingoes ("i only have eyes for you..."). but you arent embaressed of those dandies, are you? :P
every once in awhile, i will mock/mimic christy lane, "one day at a time...sweet jesus....!". my mom loves it when i do that.
I'm not ashamed of any of the music I listen too. =) I love it all...Right down to Christina Aguilera and the depths of musical hell: ABBA.
