Ok this subject was lightly touched upon in the last wicca thread. I have noticed that there is a good amount of people that practice magick on this site. So here is a question for you. How many whenever they do a spell ritual etc... have faith and believe that it will work? If that is a lil vague I apoligize.
Just saying cause I have encountered many that do magic and have no faith that it will work. As many that practice this art knows at times it takes weeks days and sometimes months for it to work. Whenever I do a spell I have the constant faith that it will come through.
One more thing I wish to touch upon really troubles me. Do you think the practice of magick has became a trend now days as rather being gothic or a vampire. A few times I have came across thoughs that claim the practice but know nothing about it. Well I apoligize if this is abit vague just let me know if it is.
Really would like to hear everyones views on this. Thanks ahead of time.
*clears throat* I practice magic! I believe my spells will work to the up most fullest that the Goddess wants them to work to... I believe that sadly, this has become a trend. I have also meet many who know nothing about it. *looks at self* I myself do not hold all the answers. However, I do read about different parts of my religion, I write spells, cast circles, belong to a coven, and celebrate the holidays! *clears throat again*
I do believe you have to have faith... You have to have faith in anything and everything you do in life. Even if you believe in no God or Goddess man has to have faith. It is how we think, how we breathe, how we live. No faith = no meaning... no meaning = no life... no life = death...
*steps off lil soap box*
Nice thread hun!
i dont practice magic, but i do believe that it is becoming more of a style thing nowadays. just like satanism. it started off as worshipping Satan, but as more and more people thought it was 'cool' it became a bigger and bigger religion that lost its sight. which is why 'devil-worshippers' (lack of a better term) changed their faith to Luciferianism. i wish people would stop trying to be other people to be cool. people will like you a lot more if they are thier own person. my freind tries to be this big hip hop guy acting all cool-badass and he wonders why i get all the attention when i dont do anything. i am just being me. ok. ill stop now. im sorry for going off subject there. its just something that has been getting on my nerves lately.
Satanism was to never worship the Devil. It was to worship ones self over a God...
i do believe , and to what i found is if you don't believe in what you put forth why should it happen. as for trends i find that it has gone a lot more undergroung compared to 5-10 years ago
I have been practing magic since I was in high school. Thats about 10th grade. So makes it about 8 years. I have been back and forth. I didn't practice for awhile because lack of total control. If my mind is not fully on the magic at hand then I shall not do it.
I believe in my heart and for the goddess(s) that magic comes from within. The sad thing is I sit and hear people talk about magic and they do not understand that. They believe that if you do it, it should just happen. How can it happen if you do not have your heart into it? Its basically just going through the motions in that case.
I do not preach about what I do nor do I ridicule people for practing how they do. I myself only do magic when its something I really really want or need to help another. I do see it as becoming a trend. Younger and younger kids are doing it to be cool, different, or just say they do it. Rather sad. I rarely see the younger crowd practice for the right reason. I know I am not the magic guru but, I do what feels comfortbale to me.
In order for things to happen faith and believing are major factors in it.
3 folds is not something to nice. I speak from experience. -sigh-
i don't know what more to say other then what has already been said....other then i do practice magick....and i also have alot
to learn.... but with the faith that time will teach....
I used to practice magic quite a lot, but the past few years I've slipped out of it. I still do, but it's not very often. I do believe that these days, people do it as more of a 'tren' and they think it's 'cool', other than it's true purposes.
i do not use magick too often, but when i do i have the upmost faith that it will work.
I also practice magick and other outlets,
but I have to admit that even tho there seems to be a trend happening with Magick, I feel that people of other faiths are expanding thier religilous knowledge or finding out that they don't feel right with the religion they are with and change.
Like myself, I was born and raised Roman-Catholic and didn't feel right being in the church after my 1st communion.
Well I was looking at different religions at a young age (Age 9/10) and found that I belonged with pagans, wiccans and others of the Magick & ESP line.
basically I looked for the one i felt most comforable and to this day I'm still expanding my knoweldge about other religions but feel most comfortable with Magick.
With the results of my spells and rites,
well lets just say back in 2002 there was a snow storm that hit Toronto and the mayor called the millitary in to help out,
it snowed for a week straight, I casted that spell to bring snow and well I did it for my nephew (cuz he's never seen snow be4 ....FLA kid)
so I did the spell and it was a week late, the day he left the started and didn't stop until a week later.
Man everyone was angry about all that snow. >:|
I am a practioner, and I believe that it won't work unless YOU believe it will.I have also noticed that it is as common to hear "I'm a wiccan,or witch" as it is to hear "I'm a vampire",and "I'm a goth" in my neighborhood. We have a great many who change their beliefs to look cool here, and I hate it!
I do practice magic,it's is normally simple spells that i can do quickly in my house. If i have to do something big i have gone outside in te back yard to do them.I do believe in the spells and the magic that is envoked....why would you do magic if you don't believe,it would be the same as going to church every Sunday and not believe.
I also believe since certain witch movies have come out,the craft, people think that magic is to be taken lightly and can be played with and have no repercussions
vampkamui,
greetings to you.
Your first question...have I faith?
my answer is that until just several days recent, no, my faith had been broken and my sprit verged upon the lip of the great casm of despair.
However, it takes only a moment of trust, of intrigue from one other, an other from thousands of miles distant to take but a single action which can alter the course of a persons future history, my own, in fact.
This person took the risk to open a line of communication that was beyond the usual scope of their actions and in so doing, brought be back from the abyssal depths of depression.
this is a moment of great joy for me and it has not only rekindled my desire for life, but my interest in the practice of Magick.
so yes, I now have all the faith that I feel I will ever need.
as for your second question, is this now a fashionable trend to make one appear 'cool'?
to this I say, yes, with the recent 'star' names publicly announcing their 'conversion' (ha) to the 'mystic' beliefs of the kabalah (qabala), then it has an obvious answer of yes.
but, I can recognise an underlying trend that is not so prevalent...that I see people less able, no, rather, less inclined to seek the true meanings and understandings that the knowledge brings, for it disturbs the commonly accepted norms of their lives to such a degree that it may break their minds.
This I cannot say is true of the Americas, for i have not the experience, but in europe, the practice 'appears' to be on the downturn, with such dark arts as Voodoo also becoming more widespread.
this is a worrying time from my own perspective, for it limits the opportunity for development of thought outside of the available spectrum presented within the education and media systems of our societies.
i have been working in the mantic arts for over 25 years.....
my faith in it has never changed over the years, if anything it has be come stronger.
however working in "magic" has become a trend for a lot of people and i have seen a lot of thing missused. and there has become a lot of "my way is the only way. and because you do things differently, you're wrong."
it's all majik, isn't it?
Magic it's a great weapon if you lear how to use it correctly.......either if you do it for good or bad
When I do a spell.....belief in the words, and tools used, and what I intend are needed.
If you don't believe...nothing will happen. If you believe....the impossible becomes the achieveable.
Either you believe, or you don't.......there is no middle ground.
There are quite a few Spell Masters on this site, and well worth hunting down for assistance and advice.
I'd start with Crazywolf first.. he'll bite me for saying it!
Love the spells and potions people have put into their journals too, excellent resource!
MM
I used to practice magic and faith cause I guess you should have faith to make it work.
The Practice of magick is optional in anyone's life. And lately I think the use of magick is becoming a rebeling trend, for kids to get back at their parents because they realized it will tick them off.
I've always found magick to be like karma, it never works unless for a good reason. Magick, black, white or green, always comes from the earth which in itself is the Goddess. People sometimes dont realize that doing something for yourself can actually backfired and hurt you harder than what you intended in the first place.
I think that magic can often be seen as something 'alternative' or to be boasted about, but from what I have seen, those who do it tend to have a great respect for what they are tyring to achieve, and keep it close to their hearts.
I do believe that the power of mind and nature can do wonderful and powerful things... I dont kwo where I stand as the spirit as an entity though *echo realises she's going off topic* but I think that if people give up at the first hurdle, then they are obviously using magic for the wrong reasons.
I dont really have a lot of knowledge in the fiels, but I know that oyu can't take everything you read seriously... there are hundreds of spell e-books on the net, filled with copius spellingmistakes and appear to have been written by children to make some pocketmoney, however I also dont doubt the fact that a spell created yourself could work if you had the knowledge, experience, and faith behind it.
Basically what Im saying is that it depends on what the persons gives to the cause that determines what they get out.
i take wat ever i can find around the house and mix it up and i tested the "concotions" for the lack of a better term on ants and i have seen many different reactions lik more life span lessended life span :) umm size increase ect. but i don't know if you would nessicaraly call that magik so could some 1 get back to me on that please and thank you
if you do not believe then your spell will fail...it's as simple as that....
I feel the magic comes from within..so non belief erodes self faith...for those who feel it is from elsewhere....ie:gods or other powers....to not have full belief is an insult....and like the saying goes...you cannot pray a lie...
but on the same note....I will never use a spell to obtain a result that can be gotten by mundane processes.....it is an abuse of power.....but the way I practice magic is extremely foreign to most other practitioners I know....so it is hard to describe....one of the problems of being a self taught soloist practitioner
Nothing wrong with being a Solitary Practitioner. Being Wiccan means being in Society's Minority Religion. We suffer a stigma caused by misconception and intolerence.
But by no means are Solitary Practitioners less important or less powerful. Covens are convienent because they can pool their resources and knoweledge, but SPs can perform magics as powerful or even more powerful.
But any witch or witches must becareful on how they do their magic. One wrong step and it can backfire. That is why Wiccan are told to never send out negative energy......this way if we screw up....nothing bad will happen to us.
So mote it be.
what I follow is sort of a crossing of druidry/shamanism/and budhism...
i picked and chose what my intuition told me was correct in my paths...
Ah .. magic .. I am rather Earthbound but I dare imagine at times ..
I do magic sometimes, the classical love spell or voodoo type
its fun, mess with others and mess with ur life, in a good way..lol
The power of your mind is magick.
You use it more than you think.
I don't practice it very often. But I do know a few spells. I think for the most part, due to all these new shows, most people do it just because it looks mainstream now and because it looks cool. The same can be said about alchemy. Does anyone have any spells they would like to share?
i'm not a magic user, but i do beleive in the "magic", if you wish, (not being rude or anything) or power in nature and mind an in a sense can be minipulated for whatever reasons. that being said, i also believe that it is becoming a trend.
people i know practise magic, and when i ask them do they have faith in it, they just laug and say of course, however when i ask them why, they just go quiet for awhile and shrug. no one was interested in anything like that, but suddenly it was the "in thing" and people did witch craft, weegie boards that were made out of card board for gods sake! and other things i dont know about. then the next thing i know, that after four weeks, everyones over it.
this maybe be because of lack of faith, or knowledge or understanding, but i do believe it is a trend for some people.
im not bagging out people who do believe in it, im just saying from my point of view. if you have faith and it works for you then, GO YOU!! ;)
The Trend of Practicing magic does seem to be related to the Goth scene, I can not deny the fact that most get into it because its not main stream and goes against most of societies ideas of perfect religion.
Yet as much as I want to say this is all apart of the Goth scene, I do see those who aren't awakening into what Reality really is and once was, and should be.
Reason why any magic casted isn't so... potent or seems to act so fast is because the lack of belief that this world has any more for such mystical things.
- Sin
im sorry you guys... but magick has become a trend... it has become like every other fucking religion... they are all trends...
no faith no spell. carkiller88 is kinda of right it has become somewhat of a trend.
alot of people are playing with thing they don't understand or do a half ass job at summoning **very very bad idea**if you don't understand it or belive in it the best bet is to stay the hell away from it. it is nothing to play around with !!
Everything is a trend.......
including absence of faith.
But do not dismiss something simply because people jump on the band wagon of what is "cool".
It's the people who stick with something, even when the trend dies, that show the topic's legitimacy.
Magic has always been with us.......
call them Miracles, Divine Intervention, whatever.......
Magic is the energy that surrounds us, and when you tap into it, you must believe for it to work.
Hawk you are completely correct. But it does deeply disturb me as well that so many are practicing it with no knowledge of it. Can and will lead to severe consequences.
Hi. Dropped in. *stepping off my broom. Excuse the punn.
I've grown up with the history, customs and teachings of wicca....funny we didn't use that word though, it didn't have a label. My grandmother taught me through games, my mom through self confidence...aka believing in yourself above all else. I was born in Salem Ma, and had been openly practicing since I was at least 12. No not hiding in my closet with books, but with my gram.
I've seen books sold from 'old school' teachers, those are the ones I've got, and noticed the 'new school' books coming out. These are to say exactly what pretty much everyone here is saying; wrapped up in a nice little package "Here you go, no one is here to tell you so here are the rules." All you have to do is look, ask, read, and be open. Most importantly, listen to your heart.
Magick, magic is just like a car.....it goes when you have enough energy, it runs better when you've got a tune up, read the owners manual, and for Gods sake "DON"T DRIVE ANGRY!"
It's only as bad and dangerous as the person driving it, if you catch my drift.
Oh and I've read up a little on the new "Bewitched" and how my old home town is taking the new movie craze. Just like Salem you've got the locals who love it, they like the fun twist, brings people to Salem for a good time and share the history. But of course you have the angry ones, who just want to keep the history sacred, not treading on shallowed ground. Me? I agree with both, mostly. I've been to the hallowed ground with flowers and I've paid my respects, but Salem is also I'd personally like to say the city of firsts. (People in Lynn ma will say they are the city of firsts, but I disagree. )
I'd like to quote a news clipping I had in my old books, it's an interview with Laurie Cabot "The official witch of Salem" yes we local witches sometimes have different opinions on THAT one too. She stands over the notorious grave of our cities hanging judge back during the hysterical years, she says proudly "We are still here and you are not." Proud words.
Regardless of what you call yourself, who you pray to, what alter you set up, and anything else that is personal to your beliefs, we call agree on that one thing "We are still here."
Just my two cents
Blessed Be
I'd like to add one thing, forgive me. There are many religions that recognize 'pilgrimages' for purity of soul, and declaration of ones faith. I've gone back home once a year, I try twice when I get the chance. The thought came to me when I was walking down the empty streets in the winter, what if everyone took a personal pilgrimage to Salem to pay their respects to the twenty individuals who paid with their lives, over prejudice, religious intolerance, sometimes personal gain on the others part, and just cruelty.
Take a walk into the first 'witch' shops, that the owners took a stand and said "This is who we are and what we are selling openly!" Can you imagine the trouble they must've received starting out? They helped us, get the stuff we could sometimes take for granted. Plus not to mention all the authors who poured their hearts out, onto paper for all to read.
If you go, amongst all the black swirling cloaks and nippy air, maybe I'll see you there.
Ok, I'm done now.
hmm. well, i practice magick, in particular chaos magick, which isnt really a belief system per se. it ascribes to the principal that beliefs are tools, not an end in themselves. most(i'm generalizing) chaotes (including me) try to adopt new paradigms, learn how to use them, and then move on to something else. typically i use the techniques, just not the dogma.
so in essence, magick is just that. belief. if you think it will work, and can bypass you're conciouse mental blocks taht make you think magick wont work, also make sure the probability of it not happening isnt too high (at least at first) that it won't work, you should be succesful, in any magick you do.
-in chaos
Well that was a very good way of putting it. Indeed going there and seeing those that suffered would be very emotional.
To put it bluntly, I do not practice magic; I have not been given that gift... The trick is believeing in yourself and your trade... Faith is the only thing that will hold through in this life... If you have no faith, then you have nothing to hold on to, no stability... Yes, it is true that many fakes are coming out of the woodwork... That is a problem that allof our groups(vampires, wiccans, demons, ect.) are dealing with... We need to either: A. ignore the fakes and practice as we please ~OR~ B. Trying to stop as many of the fakes as we can to protect our born gifts... That is for the individual to choose... That is all I have to say on this subject as of now...
I've waited a bit before wadeing into this pool of conversation.....
and I guess I will start with a quote (as I love quotes it makes you seem smart and offical even tho all your doing is regurgitating someone elses verbal diarreah)
"Sceptics make the best wizards"
The best way to find the miraculous in this word is to be critical of your sences and to look and measure several times before you come to any conclusions on anything.... then do something based on the conclusions for any number of reasons.....
magic is doing the correct thing at the correct time to create the correct effect..... it's timing
and it's all in the wrists (and not that way you sickos)
Mordes has a good point, if you do magic with good intentions, but at the wrong time, or with the wrong items, things, elements or people can get hurt... but lack of confidence in yourself can hurt you as well...
Kinda like bakin a cake without the flour...so to speak...
I have practiced magic. Timing is everything, and beleiving is everything, I agree with Mordes and Crimsontears.
You need to know what you are doing in order for it to work.
As far as it being a trend. Yes. I beleive many people do it because they think it is in or hip or for whatever reason and than it does not work for them. than they quit beleiving.
As for the rest who do practice, as long as you know what you are doing, Enjoyyyy. as a fellow practicer, dont cause harm. One day it may come back.
Being the lazy little bitch I am, I skipped everyone else's comments.
Sorry folks.
Anyway, now having 11 years of experience in magicks under my belt I have no doubt that it works. I used to have to try to believe it would work, now it just is there, like gravity. I don't hold any real rules for myself and I don't think anyone should.
I understand NightBlossom,
But you must understand even with experience, and advancement... Something can go wrong...
Like with magic the same goe's with alchemy, even the oldest and wisest can make the slightest mistake, and can change the path of the world forever... so don't get to cocky...
when i practice or ask of favors from the goddess (spells) i never ask of anything to hurt or harm anyone cuz karma works in mysterious ways
i think that with magic at half what it use to be in the past that magic today is 50 percent belief, 50 imagaination
i dont understand why everone has to live by the whole "someday something could go wrong". I dont know about you, but enough people are allready living like that. Why live in fear. Fear creates things like the patriot act, and an Orwellian society. If you dont believe it will come back, it wont. If you do believe in karma, it'll exist for you. STOP living in fear.
-in chaos
Well I'm sorry but nothing goes wrong. I want someone's house to burn down and I concentrate on it long enough, it happens to the right house. Karma only affects mindless fluff bunnies and mentally retarded paranoids. I don't believe in Karma
As you wiccans like to say
STOP PERSECUTING MY BELIEFS! I dont' tell you that you have to not use the threefold law, thats your choice, I won't agree with it, but i won't turn you either.
so stop trying to change MY beliefs.
I used to practice and I did have faith in what I was doing but time has changed me. I became disillusioned by the number of books in high street shops entitled "Magik For Teenage Witches" and "How To Turn Your Ex Into A Toad." These books have turned it into a mainstream farce. I wish it could go back to the way it was. Only now, after four years of absence, have I returned to the fold.
hey all in this new world me too likd Magik
but here there is no concept of Witches n Withzardy(I knw its a mistake spelling lol) n i love those olden stories abt witches n all some time i wish me too had such powers here i saw so many peoples with lots of knowledge abt that n so many says that the usually use Spells! if any of such persons are viewing this post can u help me to achieve that power / can any 1 tell me abt those powers ..
thanking u
"!!!The hell is full so we come back!!!" - Vampires of cem
"You can check out anytime you like But you can never leave this world"
hmm ive tried it once, but i guess i wasnt concentrating enough on it or something, it didnt work, maybe it just wasnt for me, but i do believe in the practice of magic
I've tried following different paths, but I never quite agreed with the belief system, the process, or the 'rules'. I was first interested in ceremonial magick, but A.E. Waite stated in the indroduction that he didn't really expect them to work. Wicca was a little interesting, because for a while I agreed with the creation/destruction polarity. Now I'm looking into chaos magick, it makes sense to me, and the processes are appealing. I was particularly happy about the fact you can enter it with any set of beliefs, and was even more intrigued that you could use ANYTHING to focus energy.
I was having a witchcraft discussion some time ago.I felt disgusted. All the people that were practicing something, did it cause it was cool or to impress some girl or to make a love spell to a boy, also when I search on-line for info all I get is commercial sites and whenever I want a good book where I live I don't find it,there are only commercial books.Pity!
i have been minuplating energies for nearly 10 years... i follow more of a choas/balance theory than a diety based philosophy I know beyond a shadow that through thought alone the world can be changed... i believe in strieving for balance... twilight over light/dark unisex over man/woman balance over good/evil
Without Faith and belief what do you have? a pretty table with pretty things on it that amounts to nothing more then a hill of beans.. or a Spell that goes horribly wrong!
If you do not have fait in what you do, why bother? I practice magic and only because I believe it will work. If you do have fait in your work then neither will your God. And yes, I do believe it has become a trend and this sadens me...
y does every1 do magic now
its like its the thing to do now
its just anoying
I practice magic and i beleive it will work. what would be the point of practicing magic if you lack the faith to beleive it would work but that question has already been answered sadly like so many things in this world magic is becoming a fad. oh well at least one thing is in our favor fads never last so soon it will be over and just the people who believe will be the only ones doing it.
i do it as well and im not sure which is worse people who say they practic magic to be cool or piss off mommy and daddy or the people who look at me call me a devil worshiper and tell me im going to hell
i find both realy sad n funny
but acording 2 ppl
"i have a gift"
yet it dont show wen some call me "devil", "witch" ect
its funny
but wen the same ppl go 2 their mates sayin they did a spell n it worked
the really gets me angry
but its coz they wanna b one
n they cant so they so they pick on the real ones lol
I am labelled as evil etc... too infact my parents want even to kick me out from house, but who cares?I know what I am and know what am not and am ''happy'' about it.
However returning to the faith thing, you have to have faith in everything you do,and first of all you have to have faith in yourself!
i don't know very much about it, but I am interested in it, so if there is anyu knowledgeable people who are willing to share that knowledge please message me or IM me on yahoo. thanks!
When someone prepares a ritual or spell,if it will work? It mostly depends on what was expected out of it. If it was a
focusing of mind or an reachable wish.
I usually do meditations, so what did I get from the meditation and what I expected are to be considered. What intrested you in magic?
A true being of majick knows that to do majick isn't believing in a goddess or a god, or using so and so words to so and so spell and using specific herbs and smelly goods or stones. lol
No my dears, true power of the mind is believing in oneself and in what YOU do. It's mastering your abilities to focus, concentrate, turning the imagination to reality and yes it can be done because i've done it many times myself.
What makes preachers, wiccan priests/priestesses and the like so different? Nothing.
Churches=covens
Prayers=chants
Holy spirit=invoking the spirits
It's all one and the same. It's spiritual and many cultures can teach you something that works pretty much in the same aspect. That is why the spiritualist tell you that all are connected because it's true.
basicly wiccans n other religones are the same
just different names
n somtimes different rules
Yes I practice magic, and yes I have faith in what I do and that it will work, if it is so intended that is should. Mostly it works though.
But I am not wiccan. Although I am very well educated and versed in Wiccan, I'm more into sorcery. Mainly because A.... No 3 fold, and B ... bigger grey area ..... lol
But that's all cool. It is interesting to note however that if you do not have faith in what you are doing, it will not work.
i donno what i am
i do magic
not as much as i used to
but im a healer aswell use my energys 3 help others
its weird
i have been involved with magic for most of my life,i am not wiccan-wicca seems to be getting too mainstream-a trend more than a religion, most dont even know what wicca is,i am simply a pagan these days,a former satanist even,i dont beleive or worship any one god or goddess, but all...i am descended from the egyption"house of ramses" (past life regression)i have knowledge and practice in all areas
I'll put in my 2 cents eventhough I Don't think that anyone stays reading all of these
You can make anything happen in life if you have enough faith
Try believing that you're gonna tripyour face would meet the floor before you know it
In order for a spell or ritual to be of any use, it must be believed in for it to work. It is in my experience that the ritual and the spell is actually useless in, and of, itself. That is why there are so many different spells for money-making, protection spells, recharging rituals, etc. Different people have different views on what the focus of their ritual means and how to obtain these objects thus creating a need for different spell wordings and altered rituals. Now, some of these may just be because an un-initiate wrote it, but that isn't always the case. The purpose of the spell or ritual is to focus the mind on the task at hand. Without belief that the ritual will work for you, the spell is just words on a scroll or notebook paper.
As for the trend, I do believe that there are a GREAT deal of people who do go to witchcraft because it's a new fad--just like goths and motorcycles, and so on and so forth. Many have seen this. There are actual bikers out there who have worked with motorcycles all of their lives. They eat, sleep, and breathe it. But, then, there's that businessman going through a midlife crisis and is attracted to motorcycles just because they now fit with his age-oriented ego. Same for witchcraft. There are actual witches out there. They have been taught in the ways of the Mysteries and have been initiated several times as they progressed in level--either within a coven or by themselves. Then there are those who have screwed up lives and find a freedom or whatever reason in witchcraft in which they think they'll get everything they've ever desired. That's why there's so many love spells circulating in the marketplace--especially on Valentine's Day.
I do practice and wouldn't waste my time on it if i didn't believe (know) it works.
i do practice magic and u do need faith in the magic itself along w/ faith in yourself for it to work...mine magic usually takes time its not juss gonna happen it doesnt work that way...but i do see it becoming a trend bcuz ppl think its the cool thing to do though they have no idea what it is or how to do...but they can only touch the surface of the power and magic they have if they dont believe in themselves
I believe in the arcane arts. How ever I do not practice them though. I believe that if you have faith in something then it is your will that makes it possible. I have witnessed things I can't explain. Is it magic that made these events possible? I do not know it remains to be proven. For lack of evidence I wonder if most things mystical were not lost to our society long ago. For lack of a better example. I will say I have not met any present day merlins.
I been doing ritual for many moons. I never used the word Witch to discribe me or what I was doing. Until 'Diary' came out in the late 60's. Yes, I'm that old and yes, I still have my copy.
I have always believed that magick works, if the mind is focused and the intention is pure.
If you believe, magick will work.
If you believe in yourself, you become your own magik - better still.
i am a 8th generation wiccan, the practice has been taught to the women in my family for many years.im proud of it,but i am also gothic.im sick and tired of ppl at my skool teeling me im a satanist becuz i practice magick!its not fair, there all god will damn u to hell and stupid shit like that.but they will not listen to me.i dont worship god,i worship nature, mother nature,or menol.im tryin to get all the ones who r intouch with magick here to stand up for themselves, but there all cowards,y i dont no...
I practise magik, not very often, but that's besides the point. I do have faith in my spells etc...if i didn't i'm not sure half would work.
And, sadly it is true, magik is being practised by those with little and no experiece and knowledge, and by those who don't appreciate it even. I find some of them sickening.
Oh goth, i said some of them make me sick?
I meant ALL of them!
I don't do spells willy nilly.... I learn a couple of bad lessons earlier on, they will work but you might not like or control the consequences.. I believe because of that when I do magick it will work, because I examine why I am doing the spell... each I have done has a purpose... the spell is only as stong as the will behind it.. To know, to dare to will.... and the 4th rule to keep silent.. give magick the respect it deserves...
i am lost, what so different about doing it different ways
A relative of mine is a witch and she has been practicing for many years. I do believe there is some sort of energy that channels through people to perform certain tasks. May it be a god or goddess I can not say but it does exist. I have been to summer solstices with her and have felt this surge come from the group to a point where they felt this pulse come from me. Now I am in tune with the supernatural a gift some say and curse. My beliefs are catholic and so I am taught that this is no good but then again neither is the church. I do not follow in the ways of the Wicca but yet at times I do wish to tune myself into and see what and where this will take me.
it comes from themselves. people just give their credit to a god or goddess when it's not really from "deities" at all.
i`m trying to learn some black magic spells...but i think you need some powers to complet a spell...
actually it's good to practice different types of majick whether it's helpful or harmful and i say this because it balances.
i have full faith i know the more good i am doing for others the more power i get
