How do graveyards make you feel? Calm/serene? aroused? hungry?

For me they make me feel calm,.as a Matter of fact I am doing a photo shoot in one this comming fall

I guess it all depends on my mood, there are times when graveyards make me feel calm, I tend to lay on the grass and look up at the starts, and do a lot of thinking in graveyards that is where i get most of my artistic inspiration from, on the other hand late at night if i am in a graveyard with ppl of the other sex i tend to want sex infact sex in graveyards is one of my biggest turn ons. I never feel saddness there are feelings I get in a graveyard that I cant get anywhere else, a sence of belonging and peace.

Most of the time I find them very serene and calming. The rest of the world seems to just fade away and not matter while I'm in one.

Graveyards are more or less neutral for me. I do enjoy walking through them at night, they tend to be pretty empty. And I find mausoleums somewhat fascinating as well.

It makes me wonder. I mean, it's endless. hundreds of graves. so many that you feel insignificent.
Death takes all.

They make me feel nervous not cause im scared but i really dont know why. they make me feel sad for the ppl that have died and i dont know why that is either, I didnt know them (u know what i mean lol)

I get uneasy when I'm in a graveyard, I guess it's just the thought of being surrounded by death.

i feel @ home when im thier and stuff i cant explain it but if kinda feels like home for me

to me its just another place to be and its relaxing cause not alot of ppl go there and all. but if i hear shit, i usually get a lil spooked

Graveyards are my home, I frequent them all the time. It's sad when the place that you should call your home isn't to you, and that the only place you seem to feel at home is in a graveyard. Ask Angel Cutz, she knows how I am.

it could sound stupid. but mackes me feel alive. i like going to Graveyards, i go thene every week. i like to sit and talk to dear people becouse i feel them and i know they feel me. usuely i go to old Graveyards. i love than feeling when you come at night or in winter when it's all in snow.... i heve some pics in my Portfolio of that old Graveyard... i love that place.

I am relaxed, calm in a graveyard. I enjoy them. I like to walk around and read the headstones. I have no fear of them because of spirits or anything else. I live with ghosts, so meeting one in a graveyard would just be an extention of my everyday life. I think they can be romantic as well-a midnight, moonlit picnic can be fun!!

I enjoy old graveyards with statues and maousoliems.Especially,17th century sandstone markers,or early 20th century('20's
statues.

the headstones, the livelyness of them, they are never calm I can sense and sometimes see then roaming around especially @ nite. woohoo!

A beautiful place to go to is in New Orleans. The graveyards there are absolutely beautiful, so are the ones in Biloxi, Ms.

I love the peace and quiet of a graveyard.....

but I love the artistry in the the tombs and tombstones......the better the cemetary...the better the artwork.

overwhelming saddness

I like to take paper and pen with me and all that I find that are beautiful, I ask the spirits if it is alright if I make a grave rubbing. The artwork is extrodinary in New Orleans, the best I have seen so far.

I greatly enjoy graveyards. The ones in south louisiana are absolutely amazing to see. They seem so peaceful. Not to mention the overwhelming feeling of eternity and the unknown....kinda exciting in a way.

The feeling of the place wrapping around you and showing you things you never thought possible, the feeling of being perfectly at peace with oneself, and the overwhelming sense of loss for those around you. . .I crave those feelings.

They are beautiful and calming; a perfect serenity...

I love graveyards, especially if I know ppl whom are buried there. I can sometimes lay on their grave and feel them. It's very comforting and calming for me.

Sometimes they make me feel calm, sometimes they make me feel excited, sometimes they make me feel happy, ...it all depends on my mood at the time.

All is depended upon what the person feels, you have that right my friend.

Hm, here where I live they either bury the dead into the mountains (as with two of my grandparents), or bury them on little hills near their home. I often see lots of graves while on the highway, near the streets out in the country.

Well, the graves are all..um, buried Chinese-styled (I think), I personally favor the stone tablets and crosses better.

For all you iowa people out there, there is an amazing graveyard in Nora Springs I go there all the time because its only like 10 min away from where I am. It's lovely and old so old that some of the headstones have trees that have grown around them and are now embeded into the tree, large old headstones and many other things that just make the place amazing beautiful and so at peace because it is out in the middle of nowhere kind of in the woods on a gravel road. Its a great place for me to spend sometime thinking. When I get the chance I'll take some pics and put them on my profile so you can see it as well.

I find them calming, and somewhat inspiring (wrote a story in the middle of a cemetary) Sometimes I feel anticipation as if I expect to see something from beyond.

They can be, I write in there all the time, or sleep, and such. lol

Wish I could visit a cemetary often, I don't have time and there are no cemetaries near where I live...

I slept in one for almost a week!(only way to help get over the loss of my friend .... I'm sure Starr was there but I was sooo out of it I didnt care who was around ... that and I was violent.. most left me alone!) I've grown rather fond of there exquisit beauty! I also used to spend my lunch hours and evenings in them reading books outloud or in my head ... I do a great number of photoshoots there .. some of my shots are actually in Starrs portfolio I do belive! ** I'm Sure Starr will Privie the information of various shoots I've done for her there ** ;)

I have a great deal of respect for graveyards-they are like anyhitng else good and bad, and inherently what we make of them. I went to New York a few years ago, and I spent the entire day in the Sleepy Hollow cemetary and I haven't felt that peaceful in awhile. By the same token, I went graveyarding with some ghost hunter frineds of mine, and they were trying to "clean" a place, and it felt off to me...so I suppose it depends on the place-but for the most part I find them peaceful and serene

Nic and I love graveyards.It helps us cope with life most of the time.It's calm and peace, but at the same time the unsteadyness as well. I will always go to grave yards, respectfully of course, and admire the beautiful art in the stones and statues.

I have meditated,made love,had lust and bloodlust in my local Cemetary.Alot of my family are in this same cemetary so i feel a positive connection to this particular Cemetary and i know i will join my ancestors there one day...so to answer your Question..yeah it makes me feel serene,happy,peaceful,horny and hungry.

I've visited a few, and enjoy it... its a calm place, and a reflective place. however, many other places can have those same properties.

Depending what's in the cemetary, I usually get an overwhelming sense of curiosity. I have to read all the tombstones, I have to know how they all died, when they died, who they left behind,who they are going to join.

Who loved them, who burried them, what inscription they used. ..... this one is my fav:

I find graveyards relaxing you can feel the death wrap around you like a blanket and the world holds still.

Graveyards are intrigueing. I don't really like going in any of them during the night time because that is when I am capable of seeing everything better. I like going in and looking at the people's gravestones and just admiring the outlook of what is to come. Rotting in a box with people crying over your bones and a Stone saying something Serene.... Yeah right, get cremated, Then you ain't gotta worry about the worms.

Graveyards make me feel somewhat calm and content with everything around me. Whenever my family goes to one, usually once a month, all I do is walk around the entire graveyard and think. I clearly think. I do not go and look at my former relative's grave, because that isn't going to make me feel any better. So I like to walk in them.....

When I feel lonly or sad I go to a graveyard and look at the tombstones and think about how the people who lie there were. And I often bring flowers to graves that never get flowers from their loved ones.

The graveyard was my summer hang out. How weird am I? I lived a few miles away from the town's graveyard so my best friends and I would go out there at dusk and just hang out. It was so calming and peaceful.

cemeterys make me feel calm i can fell spirits and you ususally can hear them speak thats why i feel calm in a cemetery is because i know what the spirits are feeeling plus its just a peaceful place to be!

Graveyards are home to me, I was raised in them, and they will forever be a part of me. I like them, and at night, all the more fun, all the more at peace I feel, watching the entities moving through them, observing and waiting until they come to me.

lol I like just being wrapped in the aura that spreads from there and makes the world stand still so peaceful and yet intimidating

sometimes in graveyards i will feel depressed. But the majority of the time i find them peaceful and will wander around in them. sometimes i'll just sit down and look around at the graves for a while. especially Crypts....those fascinate me for some reason.....

i would have to say it can be calming and sad but i do get tense especially when the dead speak most of the time i feel at ease but not always

yes I always dont feel at ease in them either espically when the spirits are angry or restless thats when i dont fell at ease but when they just want to play or talk I am fine!

lol. Don't fear, hate, or become agressive around them, they feed off of that and that is what causes them to become as powerful as they are.

yes i learned my lesson a long time ago on that when my powers were still growing it taught me a lot now i just listen!

You'd be surprised at how many spirits you can actually see or feel in a cemetery. I remember the first time I actually saw a spirit. It was with one of my friends, and it was a little boy. Kinda made me sad

graveyards ....make me feel calm and some what at peace. but yet makes me feel at some points like someone is watching me ...mainly where the childrens lay. but other than that im calm and forget all the thoughts and problems i have when there.

I have unbelivible imagination in graveyards, if my life is complicated and confused, being in a graveyard sorts all my problems, i feel so safe in tham, like nothing can hurt meh... i was in one yesterday... i just lay and thought for hours, it was a feeling like nothing mattered anymore, and i could just drift away... and no one could harm meh...

it all depends on my mood i guess....most of the time though i feel really relaxed and i dunno it makes me feel so there ya no ah its hard to explain......

I feel they are calm and a place where you can go to sit on your own getting away from the rest of the world. They are really pieceful too. I like to walk through them.

One of the most beautiful cemetaries Ive ever seen is in Selma Alabama. Old Live Oak Cemetary...civil war soldiers graves and war monuments, 100-200 year old graves, ancient looking oak trees draped with spanish moss...so beautiful." There is glory in the graves" is a quote on one of the monuments. I love that place.

I don't even think about them.
They are just taking up property that could be used for a new shopping mall.

i love wondering around graveyards. i sometimes sit there and draw the head stones. havent done that in a long time tho. i hate national graveyards. too much family in there, they just hit me really hard emotionaly. its also awsome wondering around the big hotel.

Taking up property, shopping malls? Now i've heard it all. Anyways graveyards gives me a sense of peace and tranquility. Sometimes I go to one either to collect my thoughts or write. During the one year aniversary of loosing my mother I went out to her plot and slept there for a night to feel at peace.

When I am in a graveyard it makes me feel sad.. I feel sad when I do not see anything on the gravesites. especially children. It makes me want to go out and buy a flower to put on every empty spot.

It also makes me wonder about what happened and if they have lived their life to the fullest.

yes graveyards have a tendency to make anybody wonder no matter wether you can speak to the spirits sense them or not it doesnt matter like i said i think they have the tendency to make anybody wonder about life

I agree with the lustful attributes they engender only because our lust celebrates the fact that we are alive-and I find most graveyards to be peaceful places as well, like a wrapping up of yourself as said before...I also have an inate curiosity about each person, how they lived, how they died...brings out the researcher in me

it depends of the graveyard and am i alone or with someone. There are graveyards that make me feel peacefoul, calm, i just sit and think, but there are graveyards where are burried members of my family, those i dont like, they make me relive all the sorow again.

I go to the graveyard a lot when Im need to be alone or I'm sad. It helps me relax and clear my head. I have also had picnics and sex(was not near the head stones in and area wear it was clear) in the graveyard. So I guess the graveyard for me would be all good emotions tied into one. It just depends on my mood that day.

We have some fascinating graveyards in Ireland.. so old and they are indeed a sight to see in their own right, especially the ones with the tumbled down stone churches or castles..

I am very calm in graveyards i like to go there to just think and write and i like to take picturs of me in them i would like to find a really creepy graveyard then i'll get some great creepy pics to post on the net

well, depends on the grave yard for me, usually i feel calmed and hungry, but there is a paricular one that lives near me, that my girlfriend of 2 years, had died in a car crash, and is buried there, so, yea, thats a different subject for me

I love graveyards. They make me feel so calm and give me this sense of history I can't find anywhere else. I'm so inspired in graveyards; I walk around, read the epitaphs, take pictures of the tombstones and the sunsets. It's like nothing else.

The graveyard around here, my friend and i used to go to at night and fix up all the headstones that vandals and miscreants had tried to ruin.Yes they are serene and enjoyable to be in but leave them the way they were intended to be i say.I enjoy being in the cemetary by myself or with another.Definitely serene,calm,fun and arousing all in one.

it all depends really. If I am there alone then it is serene and calming. but if I am there with my love, then it is kind of arousing. As morbid as that sounds

Until recently I haven't stepped one foot into a graveyard in nearly 8 years. I couldn't do it for a reason that can't be explained.

But, now, I guess you could say I don't mind. I feel calm and serene and somehow accepting of what life is all about. Death doesn't scare me. The graveyard is a resting place and nothing more.

Graveyards are a place of calm and serenity. And there is a certain beauty in the way the headstones are all unique. Black and white photos just bring out, at least in my eyes.

You're lucky in some ways. I know too many residents of such places, so I am quite familiar with cemetaries.

Fortunately/Unfortanately, most of them are up north, so I don't get to visit all that often.

Thy are such memorable places too. When I was ounger, I used to do an early morning paper round, and every day I would pass the same gravestones and make that same connection.

It makes me feel calm. Usually. It's nice to be there and think of all of the people that have passed around you. To think of what kind of lives they lived. But of course, I don't really go to cemeteries that much anymore...
