I have been wondering if their is anything we can do to stop members from making unwanted advances on other members. Screening of some sort. I have issues with receiving messages like this one that just appeared in my mail box:

"hi:) i am boy,you pics very beatifoul,i search friends in webcam,i have webcam and msn hotmail and yhaoo,you have webcam?:)"

Not only is the grammer horrific, but I feel somewhat insulted when I get messages like this EVERY DAY considering that on my page it does say that I am taken.

Does any one else get messages like these? I'm getting tired of adding new people to my "blocked" list - can we do something about it?

I got that one to darkling. Just tell him you do not have a webcam and he will leave you alone. It worked for me, and yes it is annoying.

I usually do that, but it's feeling futile - there's a message like that almost every time I log in. I'm starting to not like coming on here.

Seams most have gotten it but there are still some who don't read and continue with this crap.

It seems all the females on here got that one. It's spamming and isn't allowed on vr ..Profiles name was Vitality. :)

I can understand how many of you women feel here...but I have to say honestly at my age I find it rather amusing that these idiots even bother with me.

If you truly don't want to receive those types of "flirty" messages, maybe you should consider not putting pictures of yourself anywhere on your profile/portfolio. It's rather extreme, I know, but if you don't want to give them any fuel for their fantasies to begin with, remove the visual aids. You know how guys are....they are all about the visual. Those dogs. lol Anyway, just a thought. :)

I was sent EXACTLY the same message darkling... What does this guy do? Cut and paste this damn message to every female on vr?

Just ignore him and he`ll get the message... after a while. Or else spare him the anxiety and tell him to BLOODY PISS OFF!

I told him if hes sent me a message like that again i would turn him in and he never sent another one.But i do also think its funny and annoying

I got that webcam one too, the advances wouldn't be so bad if the people doing it had halfway decent grammer. But when you have your pictures on the internet you have to expect some lonely weirdo to send you something whether you like it or not.

what can one do when legitimacy of posting and trying to make this site real by trying to prove life isn't about sex, by being real wioth the mind. People see ralness gets erased, so they learn to not use their minds if they are punished for it, and think with other parts of the anatomy.

My mother used say though when she was younger, she hated those walks by the construction workers, but the oplder she got, the more she would hear a jackhammer and walk to wards. It is somehow an honor I hate to say that someone , even someone without a mind, would see you the way they do... Don't be insulted, men are just stupid in general, and there is a whole world out there that reinforces animalism.

I just get them delete them and move on. It is unfortunate that they stoop to the levels they do but aside from blocking them you really don't have any options of retaliation.

VITS, I found your post off point and offensive. Men, are most certainly NOT stupid in general. Many males, and men on this site are kind, respectful, and insightful. To relegate the entire personhood of all males into an "animalistic" category only serves to excuse the inappropriate behavior of several. Of the thousands of males on this site, only a handful seem to be repeat offenders which I assert DIRECTLY and flatly contradicts your statement. alright after the last post I feel like i should say something in the defense of the great guys that are on here. There have also been pleanty of messages over the last couple of months from just down to earth nice guys who want to just say hi or talk about a topic.

I have also heard that there guys on here that get the same type of messages from the female population on vr. I don't think it's limited to the females.

my bf does get sexual messages too.. even tough both of us have the pic of each other in our profiles!

It's just part of anything on the internet- you're going to have a good share of creeps along with the decent and half-decent people about. There's not a way to put any sort of filters on, aside from you just blocking those who you find just TOO repulsive!

The admin's seem to me that their on top of everything that goes on here at VR.

That guy wrote to me as well. But he didn't give up =/ Weird fellow. This is a real problem though. And the previous person was right, the admin should be able to do something about it. Blocking people is all good and well, but it gets tiresome doing it all the time. These people seem to be here for other reasons than most, so they should be dealt with in a bit different ways.

Darkling, I got that same message. I just didn't even bother to reply to it. And he never bothered me again. That is how I handle any messages I get that are unwanted. If they continue I will block them.

i havent gotten messages like that but you could tell that person to stop and if that person dose not stop try reporting him to an admin...it might work.

I have the habit of ignoring messages I receive and using the delete all feature. I have had my share of poor experiences, which makes it rather difficult to be anything other than an antisocial introvert.

Pardon the language, but I'm a terrible wanker. Photos, words.. anything gives me the horn. If I see a sentence, “I'm a female,”... I get such a fucking hard on. It is an age thing with me. If you are under twenty-four, unless you can demonstrate maturity in your profile, you are not mature and you are not interesting.

I get them too, from both males and females - though only a few. I know some females that get many a day. I really don't think there is a solution to the problem without causing other problems. The best thing to do is block them and delete. We already have a message limit per level that helps some, and to increase that just decreases the amount the legitimate lower level people can interact. Also let's be frank, some of the higher level people on this site are just as guilty.

Keep in mind any system that blocks this is going to take away something else - be it messaging freedom, or it's going to seriously hamper harmless flirting - which can be fun and lead to good friendships since it's a good icebreaker.

That makes me angry. People should have more class than to hit on someone who is already taken and who they only know from an online site. Some of the members of vampire rave are quite young, but that is still no excuse for a lack of social skills and common sense. I hope something can be done to alleviate your problem in that area.

i hate it too, but i have to say that as long as you have a pic of your self, your gona get comments. the interent in any place is a feeding ground for people like that. you cant take it completly away. i wish there were a way but theres always gona be people like that unfortunatly.

Age is a major issue here. I list my true age and dont get botherd with such stupid spam.

i have a few tips for you all who are having difficulties:

1) remove an real photos of yourself if you dont want someone to wank off to your face

2) delete and do not respond to spam or turn it in to the admins but dont respond to the sender.

3) use the block button, thats what it's there for.

Flirting is one thing..I even flirt with people but I never send messages unsolicited..I flirt to a certain extent with the people I know here that are ok with it a flirt is innocent play between friends or with your partner (sig other/husband/wife)...I'm not saying that the admin should do anything about this it is up to the individual for sure to block them..I've blocked a few people here..Ones well sorry girls/women... a woman that don't get I'm not interested in them one at first came on very hard very desperate..That is what got me to add the things I did about me and my orientation.........

Blocking and reporting them is the best thing you can do to stop them. I don't think it's right to tell someone not to put pictures of themself on their profile if they don't want that kind of attention. To me that's just like saying that a woman who is dressed sexy (miniskirt, tight jeans, cut off shirt, etc. etc.) is asking to be raped. That's pure and simple bull$&@#.

Anyone, whether male or female, should be able to post whatever they want on their profile, within VR's code of conduct of course, without fear of being sent these type of messages.

I guess there is no real way of stopping it... the best action you can take is to report/block them... which is bs because us women shouldn't have to deal with that on this site. I think by making this thread you are just making the problem worse. They don't care if you don't want attention. They message you because they want some kind of attention or idle chit chat.

I get this crap all the time on yahoo. People with broken english, people that message you for naughty things, people that don't take the word no for an answer. The best thing to do is ignore them and block them. Drawing attention doesn't help with anything.

It is the internet/website. It is going to happen reguardless of what you want.

Well atrocious grammar isn't so horrible that you'll die if people use it, but I do see your point about being harrassed.

Still, there's not much one can do about it since this is a free site (for the most part), and it does need money to run, wether the money come from people who mind their own buisness, or scumsuckers such as the ones bothering you. Either way, money is money, so screening would not only make it to where less people are interested in coming here, because it's such a hassle, it's also more work for the people that donate their time and effort to help run this site.
