Okay, I did a search and couldn't find it anywhere, so here goes...
I found it interesting that now science has actually accepted the premis of psychic abilities. It appears that most childern that have been born within the last few years are being found to be what they are terming Indigo Children. Meaning that the majority of the kids they claimed were ADD were actually mentally performing on a higher level than anyone realized. It is also being realized that many people born in the late 70's onward can fall into this catagory as well. (some are older, but not many) I just found it interesting that science is finally accepting what many of us have known for quite some time.
Just thought I would share.
That is quite interesting...it seems the advancement of children in our civiliazation, everyone else isn't ready for. Or can't comprehend what indigo children are..
yea i saw a TV special on that they had the indigo children and crystal and some others ... they have a place were they can go to get intouch with it and understand to like it and not feel "out there" somewere up north
now sometimes they even give out tests in some kindergartens to test it theyll have the teacher on one side and the child on the other and theyll have a color in there hand and then theyll ask the child to pick it out if they rank like a 6 or up itll tell you when the specialist analyze it
i have a friend that is a crystal child she had good use of it and it kinda left her alone (dont ask me) but then it came back ... kinda confusing

Oh my goodness, I had a GIANT thread on this back in December... wish it was still around :(
This is me...
Indigo Children
by: Heidi Joy
Our auras are striking, our spirits do shine
We speak of the stars and appreciate rhyme
We give to the Earth- respect her given wine
When the magick ship rolls in, we all stand in line
We refuse to conform and bow to the divine
When we pass love's tree, we reach for it's vines
It was never before, but now it's our time
Yes my friends, these people are mine
We don't follow rules, but we always see signs
These indigo shoes fit us just fine
Makes sense: 70's and on were when people started using drugs more. Mayhaps that has something to do with it? Chemicals can do wonders on a body - and that isn't always necisserily good.
I also saw that show on TV and it was very informative...glad to know they are recognizing such.
Images - you said it best hon :)
Oh no, I see blue people!. lol.
I always recommend Doreen Virtue's books for anyone interested in the subject. She also just made a movie on the subject. As a Light Warrior myself, please feel free to ask me "PM" if you need other info.
when i was in college in 1996 a teacher of art suggested that i read a book called "The Indigo Children"
she said that she did not think that i had A.D.D. and that the book would help me understand
i was born in 1978
i never even looked it up, but hearing the descriptions so far i would say that, in my opinion, i was probably an indigo child
i would love more info on this as i have an eight year old son who is psycic/empathic
this promises to be a good thread :)
Intelligence has nothing to do with Indigo children/adults. It is their ability to commune with each other without saying a bloody word. They also can see into the spirit world at a small level so they know what "the real world" is like. So when you tell an indigo that they have too do something because that is the way it is, they will tell you no. Simply because they literally see the way things really are. Add this to their inborn warrior spirit and you get a trouble child. Which leads the parents and teachers to give the kids drugs for the brain washing (school). Indigos live in two different worlds and once they come of age and realize who they are, they will be changing this one. They will have help by the children who follow them, the crystal children. But that is another thread. lol.
Sounds about right.
There is no need for the traditional family anymore. You are getting support in other ways. You just need to realize and accept this. There is nothing wrong with indigos and crystals, they are not broken, they do not need to be fixed or medicated. There is a vanguard in front of these children to help and support them for what they need to do. Learn to trust them.
I am not saying that might not be true; I ask for examples where Indigo Children really succeeded... I don't believe that ADD is actually a higher mental activity that improves humans... There are books, of course, that sustain the theory, as there are always books that sustain some theory that science "accepted" but I am still waiting to actually see a practical example, to actually see a large amount of proof provided by the whole scientific community...
There might be exeptions, there might be some truth about this, but what Medicine thought me until now is believe nothing you hear...and when you see it doubt it until the point where you have no other argument to deny it... Diseases can act in strange forms and how they teached us in school, there are actually no diseases, there are only ill people...
wow images that poem gave me chills. It really got my mind racing. We all know what its like to be a little different now take that feeling and place it with the feeling of almost being trapped within yourself where no one understood for so long .
The human mind is so intriguing.
I always said " I never truly believed in the diagnoses of A.D.D. for the most part. I always said," later on they would find it to be something totally diifferent and there way of dealing with something they had no knowledge of was to give it a name and a pill and hoped it to go away ..
Im going to have to look for this book Billy. Im genuinely curious.
I've recently read an awesome book called "Goddesses and Angels" by Doreen Virtue, in which she explains the indigo children, as well as crystal children and rainbow children.. its very interesting to think that science has come to accept psychic abilty as fact, not to mention actually agreeing that someone might be born with such a gift
Lets not talk about the rainbow crew yet. That's literally a different race. Seems these children have a different DNA structure! Cystal chidren, by the way, are closer to spirit than the indigos. These children will stare up at the ceiling and have a conversation with angels that we can't see. They are known for they round eyes and being mis-labeled with austism. Yet they are not anti-social.
I can't help but feel akin to these indigo children, and I'm glad this thread popped up, reminding me of the last one and my need to go do more research. Hopefully this time I'll find the time. Thanks for the reading suggestions Billy.
Maybe this will help (the info is taken from this site:Indigo Children)
As a summary, here are the ten attributes that best describe this new kind of child, the Indigo Child
They come into the world with a feeling of royalty (and often act like it)
They have a feeling of "deserving to be here," and are surprised when others don't share that.
Self-worth is not a big issue. They often tell the parents "who they are."
They have difficulty with absolute authority (authority without explanation or choice).
They simply will not do certain things; for example, waiting in line is difficult for them.
They get frustrated with systems that are ritually oriented and don't require creative thought.
They often see better ways of doing things, both at home and in school, which makes them seem like "system busters" (nonconforming to any system).
They seem antisocial unless they are with their own kind. If there are no others of like consciousness around them, they often turn inward, feeling like no other human understands them. School is often extremely difficult for them socially.
They will not respond to "guilt" discipline ("Wait till your father gets home and finds out what you did").
They are not shy in letting you know what they need.
and... just in case you heard otherwise from other "indigo" sources, the designated word "Indigo" has nothing to do with the color of an aura! It is the result of scientific observations by a woman who has the brain disorder called synesthesia.
it really makes alot of sense now.
i was medicated with ritlin from the time i was in 2nd grade until i was 14, that is when they decided to take me off cold turkey... i attribute my so called "chemical imalance" to this... i think they screwed up my brain when they medicated me... has taken me years to get to where i am today
my sons teacher told me last week that she thought my son had add and needed medication... i told her that in no way, shape or form was she to give my son mind altering substances and that add was bogus.
my son is in 3rd grade and reads at a 6th grade level, he is very intelligent and intuitive and i dont want to mess that up for him.
i wouldnt be that enthusiastic about this... i am sure there are indigo children and that there is a largern number then imagined, but i wouldnt say that everyone that was diagnosted with ADD is an indigo child.
knowing of the existance isnt enough... the scientists have to make decisions how indigo children can be differenatiated from children with add. both need a special treatment, but each group and individual one
i think she should be glad that your son is advanced (compard to other kids). they should alter those who are slow learners etc
And here is what I found about Scientific Reasearch on Wikipedia (for full article view, click here:Article
"Skeptics point out that proponents of the Indigo movement lack verifiable evidence to support their claims. Indigo literature frequently talks about "University studies" and "interested scientists," however scientists such as Russell Barkley, a research professor of psychiatry, have claimed, "There's no science behind it. There are no studies."
Indigo Children are often the offspring of New Age parents. Exposed to New Age thinking, it might be taken as unsurprising that the children possess a greater fluency of spiritual language than earlier generations. Having been told that the vast majority of children are now Indigos, New Age parents in fear of suppressing this special generation may be encouraging antisocial behaviors. It is said that many of the traits identifying indigo children could simply be interpreted as simple arrogance and selfish individualism when viewed from a very specific viewpoint.
Just as many people tend towards astrology because it presents believers with simple, complimentary accounts of themselves, critics of the Indigo Child concept claim that parents relate to the hypothesis because it provides a more flattering conclusion about their child than current mainstream psychological descriptions that are popular among most parents, such as ADHD or Asperger's Syndrome. Indigo Child is not a recognized term in the field of psychology, although some of the authors of Indigo literature have degrees in psychology; one reason for this might be that the concept of Indigo children is relatively new.
Critics have also voiced concern that teaching children that they are Indigo will encourage children to adopt sociopathic behaviors, such as a sense of human superiority, alienation, and a "bizarre" paranormal identity.
"
My idea? Has anyone seen the South Park episode where they make fun of Scientology and how it was based on a book written by a crazy science-fiction author? Well, from all that I read, this looks the same... I am not denying it, maybe there are some gifted children, maybe there are some born with special abilities, but that's it...
For me all this seems like a try to explain something, maybe to hide a mistake, maybe to make yourslef acceptable by the society, whose fault it is after all for denying different, for outcasting those who might suffer from a neurological or psychiatric disease that is not completely understood...
I never heard of any truly scientific test, of any psychology or pediatric or any sort of medical branch that was conducted with extended and fully participation...
As per the ADD bit above. Im personally inclined to agree that ADD is just an improvment of the human race, but because the older generations dont understand and quite frankly cant keep up, the call it a disorder/desease. If you really think about it, people with "ADD" think at about 5-12 times the rate of an older generation person. And because no one else can keep up with them, they have to amuse themselves.
Likewise, I belive Autism (sp) may also be a form of human evolution. If anyone here knows an autistic child or has spent anytime with more than one at a time, I think it is fairly easy to see that when they are around others like them, they are fully aware and know exactly whats going on. They communicate in ways older generations can not or are not willing to understand.
All of these disorders are in my oppinion just a way to misclassify the genetic/spiritual evolution of the comming generations.
I dont know much about the whole indigo or crystal child thing, but I do know that these kids ADD and autism are the next step. So stay tuned.
wow...i never heard of that...that is really intresting...my brother has A.D.H.D....wonder if he would take part in that as well...it would be pretty random if he could...hes crazy...but i love him to death!:-)
It's about time that the truth of some things are brought into reality. More things should be so that people don't have to live in silence or fear.
Thank you all for a wonderful discourse here. I have greatly enjoyed what I have read. It seems that we have many opinons on this subject and I would love to hear more.
A special thank you to imaginesinwords ~
Your words touch many, and it is no less true with me. I thank you for sharing your writings with us. I have always appreciated what you write, but have never taken the time to say so until now. Thank you for sharing a piece of yourself.
To everyone else ~ thank you for allowing me that. I would love for this indigo discussion to continue!
~J
well it seems to me that a problem with authority and a sense of royalty will likely place some of them behind bars
According to those in the field nearly all children born after 2000 are in fact indigo children.
I took some tests and went through some profiling and while I should fall into he category apparently I am somehing else.
I am a member of the Federation of American Scientists and I have always found it interesting that science has for years turned a blind eye to the capabilities of the mind.
Indigos are children that fall into a group that are being mistreated with ADD and ADHD.
Crystals are children that fall in to a group that are being mistreated with austism.
The date is that all this started is around 1980, so some of these children are now adults. Their abilities are also different. Crystals are attuned to higher spirit. Please do not assume these kids/adults are the same, they are not.
bout time they accpted the idea i mean shit we only use 10% of our brain, what the hell do you think were capable of with the other 90%
That really is very intereting. It's about time they realize that just because you can't see it or do it doesn't mean it's not there or someone else can't.
Pleasent Nightmares, Rose (Blade)
My aunt told me about the Indigo Children because I was showing her some of my drawings and it reminded her of it. She had said that they were really young and could draw the most magnificant things ever.
I think that the links with ADD/ADHD and other diagnosis is because our own science is still learning, catching up if you would. There is much that is being explored and part of the problem is, when a diagnosis hit mainstream, many doctors will start to use it as they are now aware of it. This does not always mean the doctor is correct, often second opinions should be sought out with a specialist.
As for Indigo children, I find that they are ever around us. These children KNOW they are different; they do not need their parents telling them that they are. In fact many of these children have tried to HIDE that they are different in order to not be punished by those that do not see/understand. Parents that try to raise a child Indigo will fail, as it is something born not made. What they may succeed in, is raising a child willing to be independent and capable of making changes in our world. Does it make them special?
Indeed, if more of us were to open our eyes and act on what we see, our world would be very different.
yet again something that I knew not about!! I love it here!! Almost everyday that I'm on here I learn something new and different. I was born in 1977 and you could say that I'm a little different. I feel too much until I can't take anymore and then I shut down. I know it's not healthy but I didn't know what else to do. I am off to learn some more about this Indigo Children.
Maybe soon they'll start believing in vampires too lol.
I find all this very interesting. my daughter is ADHD. She didn't do well in school but excels at anything having to do with numbers.
But they(her doctors) told me that the reason she was ADHD was because she had to have inherit it.
As a child there was no ADHD for the likes of me. we were called hyper and disruptive. As we(there are 9 of us but us 3 youngers had the biggest problems)tended to do things our own way.
And the meds that we were put on would turn most of us into automatons. ADHD is a pretty new term. I'm 38, and I first heard about ADD & ADHD roughly 1 year before my daughter's birth.
I didn't notice if there was book that you could get more information from. I would like to study this more for my daughters benefit.
PrettyViolence:
I would suggest also that you study the subject more. you may also fall in this catagory, my dear.
I have hear of the book Goddesses and Angels.
There is another really good book on the subject of ADD. I can not remember the name of it. It was written by a man who was diagnosed as being ADD at the age of sixty.
I am sure if you look up the subject his book will come up.
"How to feed your Indigo Child." ~ Doreen Virtue. It was her first book on the subject before all the goddess/ god/ angel stuff that she wrote later.
Thank you for posting this information. Being born in 12/1980 and the last of my mother's three kids was very difficult. All of the characteristics you've mention fitted me to a tee, that was until my mom crushed me with drugs and issues about dieting (in kindergarten no less). I wasn't diagnosed till 7th grade with ADD, because they said it was so light in girls. Truth was, I was just too quiet! LOL. I have a level of intelligence that would put me into mensa if I wanted but again ouside self-esteem issues. I'm still not sure what Indigo means, but your decriptions and posts nearly put me in tears and again pulls me to think that being drawn to this site was the best thing that has happened to me yet. Thank you all.
I like how Images put it. I also believe that people do not understand things that they themselves have not experience it or been around it.
I just feel that they need to label things/ppl that they have no understanding of this is my opinon I could be wrong.
I know exactly what this is. I am an indigo child. I just recently turned 17 and I have been diagnosed with ADHD, so it's not limited to just ADD. I have always performed on a higher level than I should. For instance, in 5th grade my reading level was that of an 11th grader, now it's at the level of a college graduate. I'm currently a senior in high school. It's starting to die down a bit though so apparently it doesn't last forever.
I don't understand. If kids with ADD are slower at learning, how could they be termed "smarter" or "psychic". I'm confused.
Nelby, people with ADD do not learn slowly- just differently. They do not fit within the traditional educational molds. This does not make them stupid. In truth many physicians, lawyers and highly educated people have what can be diagnosed as ADD. There is an aspect of ADD that also allows for hyper focus, the ability to multi task to a greater extent than most people can. These positive traits of ADD are often learned or trained by the individual and the extent it affects them is totally dependant on the individual and their coping mechanisms.
As for Indigo children, not all people with ADD are Indigo although most Indigo’s are improperly labeled with the diagnosis ADD.
i saw the television program but im not sure what to make of it all even tho my wife is a medium
When is being Indigo enough? If we identify with this, and see aspects in ourselves that confirm our thoughts- what are Indigos doing? I think while the idea is wondrous, too many people go “Ooooh that’s me” and then do not follow up with their actions in truly becoming Indigo.
We are born with choices. What we are is little more than what we do within our lives.
i've read up on indigo children and it is very interesting. but it gets more elaborite than you have led on. i cant remember the name/author of the book but when i find it i'll post it.
Science has continually shunned what cannot be explained through natural causes, and it sickens me. Lovecraft said it best. "The greatest emotion of mankind is fear, and the greatest kind of fear is fear of the unknown."
I have a friend who's child was diagnosed with ADD, she didn't believe it right from the start! Finally she refused to give him the medicine! Well the school refuses to let him in classes if he doesn't take his medicine! So in this case at least, I think that it is still shunned by society! Maybe it's just little small towns like I live in! But unfortunately I don't really think that society will ever except those who are different, like this child, or like all of us! Also I must add, imagesinwords, amazing poem, I really liked it!
The school called me saying that my son had a problem because he wouldn't take naps with the rest of the children...I went up to the school to meet with the teacher and reminded her that she had told me a while back he was too slow to make him the leader of a line because if she did they would never get to where they were going..because he loved to stop and look at things that interested him he was used to going camping with us and used to being allowed to discover....I asked her why it was such a problem that he didnt sleep? I wondered if he was maybe disturbing the other children or being unruly? (in kinder?) lol well I suggested that he be given something to do other than no choice....then the problem became apparent....she would have to stay and watch him if he fell asleep like the other children she could step out and enjoy the time she had...so again I made a suggestion to maybe have a volunteer room mother watch the children while she took the time she needed....I know my kids may have seemed to be out of control but the truth is we allowed them to be themselves....Another time was a trip we had taken to Oregon we all went out to eat at some fancy restraunt with my X's family, very wealthy people...well hahah my daughter decided she was going to sit under the table she wasn't being loud or disturbing anyone she was singing and having fun...My oldest son decided he liked the fancy tables and wanted to pretend he was a knight and went to sit at his own table. My middle son wanted to know what everybody else was saying and was kind of leaning back a little when his chair fell over...at that point my X father in law quickly said these children need proper discipline...I didn't feel offended I was enjoying my kids free spirit way to much lol now my kids are all in college and doing extremely well with thier lives...they expected things to be out of control and that we would have terrible children...well it wasnt so much that our kids were out of control as it was that we were by thier side every step of the way..
I guess my point being that I believe way too many children are being unecessarily given meds for nothing....i do believe there are indigo and crystal chilren I believe in higher understanding
My bestfriends mother has some sychic abilities. my bestfriend and i would be sitting quietly in a room and her mother would walk in and she described it as like electricity in the air or static(something like that) half of the time her and i dont need the spoken language. her sister is a crystal child. i love them to death but her sister drives me nutz!!! but i love her like she was my own sister.
Pardon me if this may sound a bit strange to some of you...but did any of you feel weeks before the ptsunami the earth had made a serious shift?
it's about damn time...now for them to just understand vampyres, lycans, and find out that the magic involved with paganism and wicca does exsist
Very Interesting............Our bodies have adapted so well to the enviornment and taken such strong roots to it, approaching physical perfection; the only next step plauseable would be mental evolution..............
CLIX, some did feel the Earth shrug her shoulders. Some are also saying it was part of the Rupture thingy. But things are changing and many can feel that change.
I went to google & found this:
"Indigo child
The term "Indigo Child" comes from psychic and synesthete Nancy Ann Tappe, who classified people's personalities according to the hue of their auras.*
Usually each universal age is accompanied by a preponderance of people with that life color. For instance now most adults are either Blue or Violet, the two colors with the attributes most needed in this the Violet Age of transition. During the next age, the Indigo Age, Indigo colors will be the norm (Understanding Your Life Through Color 1982).
According to Tappe,
The Indigo phenomenon has been recognized as one of the most exciting changes in human nature ever documented in society. The Indigo label describes the energy pattern of human behavior which exists in over 95% of the children born in the last 10 years … This phenomena is happening globally and eventually the Indigos will replace all other colors. As small children, Indigo’s are easy to recognize by their unusually large, clear eyes. Extremely bright, precocious children with an amazing memory and a strong desire to live instinctively, these children of the next millennium are sensitive, gifted souls with an evolved consciousness who have come here to help change the vibrations of our lives and create one land, one globe and one species. They are our bridge to the future.*
According to Peggy Day and Susan Gale, the emergence of the Indigo children was foretold by Edgar Cayce long before Tappe's aura labeling.
The Indigo Children is a book by Lee Carroll, a channeler for an entity he calls Kryon, and his wife Jan Tober.
Carroll was an economics major who ran a technical audio business for 30 years until a visit to a psychic prompted a New Age midlife crisis. He found religion and started traveling around the world giving "self-help" seminars. Accompanying him was Tober, a practitioner of metaphysics and hands-on healing as well as a jazz singer who had toured with Benny Goodman and Fred Astaire (Krider 2002).
Kyron has revealed such important messages as "love is the most powerful force in the entire universe." Carroll and Tober travel the world putting on Kryon seminars. Kryon has many interests, including the Universal Calibration Lattice and EMF Balancing (empowerment through knowledge of your electromagnetic nature, i.e., how to manage your energy field which consist of "fibers of light and energy").
One thesis of The Indigo Children seems to be that many children diagnosed as having attention deficit disorder (ADD) or ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) represent "a new kind of evolution of humanity."* These children don't need drugs like Ritalin, but special care and training. The book consists of dozens of articles by authors from many walks of life. It is, accordingly, inconsistent and uneven in quality of analysis and advice. Nancy Ann Tappe is a contributor. One of the authors is Robert Gerard, Ph.D., whose piece is called "Emissaries from Heaven." He believes his daughter is an Indigo Child. He also thinks "Most Indigos see angels and other beings in the etheric." He runs Oughten House Foundation, Inc., and sells angel cards. Another contributor is Doreen Virtue, an advocate of angel therapy who has found an even further evolved generation of children is now emerging: the Crystal children.
Not all the contributors are on the fringe of New Age metaphysics, however. For example, Dr. Judith Spitler McKee is a former preschool and elementary teacher and retired Eastern Michigan University professor. She spends her time trying to interest children in reading.
how to recognize the Indigo Child
The Indigo Child is recognizable by his or her aura and by certain other traits, according to The Indigo Children website (owned by Kryon Writings).
(For some examples of a few parents in the Houston area who have identified their children as Indigos, see Krider 2002. The children don't necessarily agree with the parents' assessments.)
One can understand why many parents would not want their child to be labeled as ADD or ADHD. The label implies imperfection. Some may even take it to mean the child is "damaged." Specifically, it means your child's behavior is due to a neuro-biological condition. To some, this is the same as having a malfunctioning brain or a mental disorder. Understandably, emotions run high here. Treatment of children with problems is a hot button issue for the mass media, attack lawyers, talk show hosts, columnists, and others not known for their role in clarifying complicated scientific or medical matters. Many jump on the bandwagon and attack the drug industry and psychiatrists for overdrugging our children. Opposition is fruitless, because few will listen to those who would defend those who “abuse” children. Fewer still will bother to investigate to see whether the critics know what they are talking about.
The National Institute of Mental Health says that ADHD is the most commonly diagnosed childhood disorder. It affects some 3 to 5 percent of all school-age children. (David Kaiser says 10% of school-age children have been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD and that in some parts of the country 50% of the children are so diagnosed.) With so many children affected, it should be easy to find cases of misdiagnosis, inappropriate treatment, adverse drug reaction, and so on. Anecdotes of abuse, however, should not substitute for scientific studies or clinical observations by the professionals who treat these children on a daily basis. But we all know that an anecdote told on Oprah or Larry King Live by Arianna Huffington or Hilary Clinton is much more powerful than a controlled scientific study. Yet, those scientific studies must be done. Ritalin has been around since 1950, yet there are no long-term studies I am aware of that show it is safe, effective, or better than any alternative. The support for its prescription comes mostly from those in the trenches, the practitioners who treat the millions of children and adults with AD/HD. Support also comes from Ritalin's manufacturer, New Jersey-based Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp., which says the drug "has been used safely and effectively in the treatment of millions of ADHD patients for over 40 years," attested by the results of 170 studies (Donohue). However, Novartis is hardly a disinterested party.
In any case, no matter how many long-term studies are done that find nothing spectacularly wrong with Ritalin, there will always be the possibility that the next one will find something horrible. For example, "researchers at the University of California, Berkeley, say their study, tracking ADHD youths into adulthood, has found a connection between Ritalin use and later abuse of tobacco, cocaine and other stimulants" (Donohue 2000). Is the connection strong enough to warrant worry? How can we be sure it wasn't the ADHD, rather than the Ritalin, that was the main basis for the connection?
The hype and near-hysteria surrounding the use of Ritalin has contributed to an atmosphere that makes it possible for a book like Indigo Children to be taken seriously. Given the choice, who wouldn't rather believe their children are special and chosen for some high mission rather than that they have a brain disorder? On the bright side, at least Kryon doesn’t prescribe blue-green algae, a popular “alternative” to Ritalin, even though there are no long-term studies on what effects blue-green algae might have on a developing child’s brain (“The Algae AD/HD Connection: Can Blue Green Algae Be of Help with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder?” by John Taylor, Ph.D.). I take it back: on the links page for the Indigo Children website there is a link to Cell Tech - http://www.celltech.com (page 189) Web site of Cell Tech, the organization that sells Klamath Lake blue-green algae.

* Curiously, indigochild.com says: "just in case you heard otherwise from other "indigo" sources, the designated word "Indigo" has nothing to do with the color of an aura! It is the result of scientific observations by a woman who has the brain disorder called synesthesia."
You can find more information by going to google & key word Indigo Children.
They are believed to be psychic, hence the indigo color of the third eye or 6/7 chakra.
Please do not c/p a whole article. Either paraphase or offer a link. Thanks. ~ Billy
Very interesting, good to know. Some of my friends children have add now I can pass on this information ...thanks
It truly makes me wonder if humans are starting to make stuff up from some lack or a boredom or if they actually found something. it's like the news... a bit story that is passed and forgotten after 10 mins. sorry for being so cynical.

I have ben reading up on indigo children. and it is not just about the ADD. there is so much more to it than tht.
Devlin: skepticism is always going to always exist when people do not take the time to read up on what it is they are skeptical about.
it woudl be so much easier to reac up on it and then make an informed decision.
you might be surprised by what you find.
I heard about indigo children, but not much. I read an article in a magazine. Thank you all for such interesting information!:)
i think that the acceptence form main stream is based on the lack of resrictions that the kids are now being raised on. You can beleive and accept the weird if you don't have to be shunned the moment you are discovered. More people are accepting new ideas then in the 50's and 60's
Don't you think that if this gets out that there will be the mass of ignrent people that will try to shun them?
Doctors, parents are sometimes so quick to diagnose children w/ADD and ADHD because they have no other idea what could be wrong with them, then they pump them full of medication, and if these children are as truly gifted then the medication will numb this.
Everyone seems to be on this ADD & ADHD kick.
I can relate to that. My stepson is add, but when he was in orientation for pre-k his vocabulary was that of an 9 yr old. His reading level was that of an 9 yr old. The only reason that it stopped at 9 was because something moved outside the window in the classroom.
I also saw the TV special. It was amazing to see the child who asked his father to go the the "school" for indigo children, although, he had never heard of the place. He just knew it was there. He even gave his father directions. I believe he was about 9, but I am not sure.
I agree with you SatinMist, we are too quick to medicate our youth. I think that there are other ways to handle problems other than medication.
I haven't heard of indigo children before this thread, i guess i'm a bit out of the loop (i haven't had cable in years) but it makes sense. Nowadays, as i noticed a few others have said, medication is one of the fastest conclusions doctors come to. Many underresearched fields could be blocked by medication because of such a need for an "instant fix" for children not "average"
hmm..just makes you wonder hoow it will be in the decades to come
I totally agree with this. I actual work with kids who have one form or another of what they call special needs or mentally challenged or even mentally ill etc. Some of these children/young adults are the smarts people I know. They can figure out puzzles and equations much more quicker then I. They can read people or have psychic abilites. It amazes me but I have know for sometime that there is more to the human mind then people allow themselves to explore.
My brother has ADD and he has no psychic abilities........well, he and I both have strange dreams and moments of deja vu quite often........he has no "psychic ability" that I do not have. Though, mother was supposed to have me tested for ADD, but she never did. So, I dunno....

I'm not really surprised to learn that they are catagorizing children/people with ADD as having possible phsycic abilities. My aunts were all told they had ADD and really the women in my family just connect well with the dead. We aren't by any means mediums but we hear the murmurings of people who have stayed behind, we seem to see apperitions more frequently and we can smell death on a person. We just tend to be rather speratic and we are always moving (sometimes our minds more than our bodies but you get the idea) so people classified them as ADD when really they were simply sorting their own thoughts from what they could hear and see.
I heard about that about a year or more ago. It's an interesting topic, it makes sense all the things I've read about so far. But I haven't read much so I can't really say too many things on the subject. But it is interesting.
i always thought this is a true phenomenon as i was born in 1976 and thought maybe i fell into this category but i cant besure as my mom was on a drug called bendectin when she carried me and that could be the reason for my actions, beliefs and how i live and act
wouldnt there be indigo children that didntknow they were??? wouldnt they be born all over the place without even hearing of it?? i had a woman come up and ask me if i was an indigo child and i said "whats that??" she just said i mustnt be if i didnt know what it is. is that all true??
I am fairly new here so I am not sure if this is appropriate ettiquete to pose a question within a thread..but here goes.
My nephew is one of a set of twins, faternal. He is "ADD" and on meds. The other is "fine" the one with ADD is artistic, eloquent beyond his years, and intuitive. My question is, are there any reported cases that anyone knows of where twins being indigo children, or just one? I know there are many cases of one twin being gay, and the other not. Just curious.
Caitlin,
Truthfully, I do not like to boast an abundance of kowledge on many subjects, but of this particular topic, I am quite knowledgable. If you, or anyone would like, I can probably supply a number of websites that deal with indigoes and even crystal children(I cannot explain what crystal children are here; too lengthy). If anyone would like the sites, merely ask and you shall recieve.
Akashavar,
First, hello.
Now, to the question at hand. Can twins both be indigoes? The answer to this question, to my knowledge, is possible/probable/maybe. There are very few cases where twins, fraternal, conjoined or otherwise, where one has the same classification or traits as the other. If you want more info on your question, one of the sites I know of may help.
Akashavaar, you said it yourself, they are fraternal twins. Two seperate people. But then again, there is not two people on the planet that are exactly the same anyway. Don't go looking for trouble. My guess is that their parents will have enough with their hands full. Two indigos in the same household! lol. But I do know personally of someone that has one indigo and one crystal. To answer your question I would say yes - somewhere. Why not?
like most of the people here i believe it too more than most. But the drugs and the centers that others talk about sometimes don't do much other than hender the abilty. as for those that come in to their powers their way that's different
there is a lady in the town i live in and she talks to dead people and she told my mom that i was an indigo child and that if i was treated in a certain way i would be a strong leader someday.... i dont know its crazy
Carkiller88,
You shouldn't speak of the topic at hand with such skepticism. At least try to make it sound like you have an open enough mind to wrap your head around the words the woman you spoke of said. It may be true...
there is a lot of useful information in this thread it is very informing to read and useful to know , i have been doing some research into this as well and it all has been very enlightening to learn about
It is good that science is finally catching up with the reality of life. I have always enjoyed reading about the development
of a higher consiousness such as Arther C. Clarkes "Childhood's End" or "The Celistine Prophecy" This sort of thing has
been fore told for a long time.
Wow! This is really interesting. I have a child diagnosed as ADHD. Unfortuantely she is medicated. Don't attack me just yet- while on the meds her life is easier than when off of them. But she seems to share some of the characteristics that people on here are talking about..... Hmmmm- something to look into.
This is information a few of my professers discussed in our conference about "indigo children" I hope it finds you all well for info.~NFA
The significant thing about Indigos is that they have leadership capabilities unlike those we have heretofore ex experience They understand what it means to be a fully actualized human being without having been taught that concept.
The most difficult thing for an Indigo to develop is patience and forbearance. Because they seem to have already grasped what it means to be authentic, they have little tolerance for others who struggle with this issue. Indigos are not without compassion. However, their form of compassion is to give other human beings time and space enough to find their ,Own answers, to come to their own resolutions.
Indigos find it easy to conform to institutionalized spiritual practices. Even as young children they have a gift for spiritual pursuits such as meditation, and an appreciation of ceremonial accoutrements such as incense, medicine rocks, and smudge,", sticks. They often choose them as playthings. They intuitively' incorporate reverence and honor into their behavior, handling the spiritual objects with love and respect. They respond easily and naturally to prayer and meditation rituals; they seem to love the quiet time as well as the space. Indigos are spiritually eclectic, able to incorporate many spiritual traditions, rituals, and symbol systems simultaneously, taking peace and comfort from each. They are not bound by old traditions, habits, or. belief systems. These children know that there is an order and a pattern to the universe that has little to do with the rules and regulations others make up. They are able to construct a holistic spirituality within themselves, to build an inner temple capable of accommodating many divergent belief systems.

A very interesting subject..
How long ago did they decide about these children is it recent or would it include other people born yrs before???
My family is full of espers just something I grew up with along with me being a dyslexic and having ADD..
I dont claim to see aura's I do get feelins from and about other people that are pretty accurate..
Other then the name given these children I don't see the difference but that again might be due to the esp thing the runs in my family if seen as a normal everyday thing what would be the difference except we knew not everybody seemed to have the same thing
Ok sorry reread the time line for indigo children...What are the others called then from the generation before indigo???
It seems everyone knows about the Indigo Children... so then why are they still not being accepted by the society in common? If all this research is supporting these arguments, then why do doctors and parents still "dose" their child with "reality"?
the reason for not accepting is the simple fear off your different. If they are accepted then the main stream has to admit that some are better then others. Easier to say different is wierd or defective then to admit that normal man is now the runner up in evolution of modern man.
Not really. The reason is that Indigo children are an idea. This idea came about in 1980 by a husband and wife duo. And it was through their findings that they wrote the first book on the indigo children. Agreed society is not too keen on accepting change. Most people are seeing is believing. Therefore, A new ideology is not a reality to them whereas ADHD is a supposed proven identity through Medicine and Science.
I think one thing to keep in mind is that any time you are considering ideas in the scientific arena, it is good to do so with a certain amount of skepticism. Having said this, let me explain. It is simply wise NOT to accept everything as fact. It is best to collect all of the information and different theories on the subject, therefore allowing you also to form your own ideas on whatever the subject of interest. It is far easier to bring up further questions regarding an issue than it is to prove it. Just food for thought....
((...though I find this highly interesting and had never heard of the topic prior to this thread...thanks!))
I suppose I could write more on the subject and clear some things up but when is written information enough. At what point does a person change their minds and see things differently? With the exceptions of some professionals that have the luxury of believing some of this Newage stuff, doctors and other health care professionals are taught and follow what the past experiences have taught them. Just because you feel the pull of something happening spiritually or for the better does not mean others feel the some way - or should they. Many will pull a blind eye to what is now going on. O'well. We can not change how some-one else believes. Things change, time changes, people change. This is nothing new. What is new is the large number of people and the speed that will make this change happen. Our bodies were not design for what is about to happen. So, we are changing too. It is not easy but do the best you can. No more - no less. ~ Billy
