What do you think happens to your being after you pass away. Not your body but your essence ie,soul? or do you believe there is nothing after death?
why not give your opinion its just an opinion , noone is going to do anything to you there are alot of topics where its just peoples opinions or beliefs but if your uncomfortable its cool.
i personally believe that when you die it is only your body that dies.
i believe that your soul is eternal.
I am a firm believer in reincarnation. You live a while then you die, or should I say sleep, then you come back to experiance more things. It is a never ending cycle
I remember this discussion before, but here is my idea. Ive also got this in my profile.
Life is not life, its the exact opposite. What is living? Breathing is living but you dont really live unless you feel. But what is it to feel? Before i get off subject I'll answer my first question. Living is feeling like i said but its also having emotions other than pain, ones including happiness and love. You are not fully alive unless you experience these things. ANyways after death i believe there is nothing else. I wont say i dont believe in god, but i dont believe in heaven, when you are dead, your dead. No more pain no more anger, no more hurt. Your just there and maybe your spirit goes off and becomes something else, but your body lays in the ground.
I want to be reborn, or spend eternity wherever my soul-mate is.
I heard things from others, not here obviously because the discussion has just begun, but others think that you go to heaven or get reincarnated or life another life. I dont believe in past lives, its possible i suppose but its not something i believe in. I do think that hauntings are possible, if the deads soul is damned enough, they go back to where they were killed or mistreated and seek revenge.
I used to think there wasn't a soul - I thought we were just a complicated mix of chemicals and electrical signals - when we died ... 'poof' that was it, lights out, no more
After I read through a similar post a while back I began to wornder if trhere as something in this reincarnation thing - your spirit moves on into another body - I'm still not convinced but at least I'm wondering about it
maybe we dont have a soul, do vampires have souls? thats is something to consiuder
i believe that oursouls go to a place ofpeace not saying its heaven but that itis some place full oof happyneess
Well I am strong believer in reincarnation... So I will be here in another life...
if to have the answer to know the truth would we carry on into the beyond......knowing what lay there for us?
I think on occasion some are lucky, or misfortunate enough, to not die when they were supposed to. But what do I know!
i believe that when you die for your final time that your soul becomes ether... apart of the stars. but as for when you die the first couple of times, your reborn.
I think you kind of subconciously determine what is to happen to you before you die. For example, if you think you have been a good person, you mentally send yourself to Heaven. Or if you think you really screwed up this life and you want to try it again, you allow your soul to be reincarnated. Do you see what I mean?
I often find myself sitting alone, thinking of two questions. "Who was I before this?" and "Have I asked myself this question before?" I never have an answer for the first one, but I can not help but feel I have asked myself the second many lifetimes over. I do not consider myself a religious person, at least not one with deistic beliefs. But, I think there is something to this reincarnation thing. The way I feel about that second question of mine is too strong to ignore.
i belive theres something after death just what i dont know....... again i belive its what we want to belive to make our selves feel better..... i think billy the just said it best in a forum thread not to long ago .... "were you want to go thats were you go"..........it would be nice to think that i think........but we wont really know till it happens........
there was a thread on this about a week ago, if memory serves me.
err maybe it was an energy thing, but it seemed similar.
*goes to check old threads heh*
i think that our souls go to our loved ones heart for them to have a piece of us with them for ever till they die at some point then ours is sent to some one who needs it the most "angel" or any other place like some were happy or anger depnding wat people say to that.
Okay firstly, I believe in reincarnation and that each and everyone of us were already existing in this world...just not as the same person as we are in this lifetime. Secondly, after we die...only our body die and our soul or spirit lives on.
What becomes of them afterwards? Well, they get born into a different body and become somewhat a different person and the cycle of the soul and spirit goes on.
...but this is my opinion
I believe the answer to this question is not for us to know. At least not until we die. I'm ok with that, even if there is nothing more to be had in death.
I believe in recarnation. I have went to mediumns that have never knew anything about me. They described my Mother to a tee that had passed over. The message the mediumn gave to me was a secret only me and my Mother knew.
i believe there is life after death. do what measures is to be known.
I belive it depends on the life that you had before your die.. The life after death is just that a new life ...
I believe in reincarnation and I believe the entity, soul, spirit..whatever one chooses to call it..Moves onto another life. I dont believe this is the end. The body is just a shell..
After reading alot of fantasy i would like to think i would go to the Elysian fields whether this is true or not i do not care it makes me feel good to think me and my children may go thier .......It is from greek mythology and you must remember the film gladiator ''if you find yourselves alone, riding in green fields with the sun on your face, do not be troubled, for you are in Elysium, and you're already dead."
It is nice for me to think on that and after all that is what matters .....And if thier is nothing so be it but ill die with a nice thought what more could one ask for ......
I believe the soul goes on... where I'm not sure, but I don't believe death is the end. I think that your beliefs can have a profound effect on where your soul goes.
People will convince themselves of anything in order to have it be that there is something after. Even if I do believe in an afterlife, I know that it is human nature to NEED that sort of reassurance. Perhaps one can't trust them self sometimes, when the human drive to survive is so strong.
Ive seen no evidence whatsoever that shows that there is anything. It is a matter of pure faith and how well you convince your self of things.
well I have been dying for many years, and I have been getting my body back for the past 2 months or less, and it is not over, but I am sad. I hate the idea I have only one soul, even if I am reincarnated, still I am me, even with the new knowledge that I have as an Imenotep healer, still I see with my third eye soul, even if the top of my head opened up once and the baby eyes left and I decided to let the baby voice stay in there by not giving a directive to my sooul, the second time I went in there, I deicded to program my soul with the Greek Alphabet, and
well, still what I knew about the Greek alphabet is still what my soul already knew so even though I was reprogramming my soul, still it was I who reprogrammed it. Maybe if I wanted a new soul, the moment that my soul was open if I had an Imenhotep standing over me giving me a divine mantra instead of just winging it with the Greek Alphabet, you know maybe I would have a different afterlife, but now it is just me. And I know it is too much to ask for, but it is the big let down, that I see the world more or less as I always saw it and will always see a certain beauty in things the way I do and an ugliness I try to make seem magical or inspirational, and the only reason why it gets me depressed is because I am old hat to myself, and though I might be special, I am so used to me, even in a second life I am contempt in mine own familiarity.
I mean, you guys are even tired of me by now, what do you think it is like to be Vampariah? Think about it for one moment, and then spread out that feeling for a whole lifetime or two. See what I mean, even heaven is hell, no one is free from their self, their soul.
I believe when we die, that our souls to into outewr space and then they are reborn into a living baby (whether it be animal, human, or plant). I hope to relive as a Clydesdale horse!!!
For me imho when you die your soul is taken to a place where you are judged. Either you make it into the kingdom or you don't.
I believe your being gose some where. I am not certain on where you go.
i dont what happens when you die
all these things people have said can be true. but nobody knows for sure. so to me its just a mystery
I bleave there is a god and we go to a heaven but that is after many lives so I guess i bleave in god and heaven and reincarnation go hand in hand.
Kind of like the movie " what dreams may come" its a good movie and I thank thats how heaven is and we can choose to live life again
I beleve there is nothing once we pass dead, that our essence only goes back to the cauldron of all the essence as one big pot, like kind of the electricity in a toaster, once you unplugg (death) the electricity goes away and becomes nothing but waht it was electicity (essence) of what was mking the toaster "alive" in a wya of speaking.
read the second law of thermal dynamic in it some where..lol..it tells you how energy never realy disapates but changes form some times into some thing that cannot be seen by the human eye.
our body use's small amounts of energy to work so when we die something has to happen to that energy and I think that is how we enter the spirt world...make no sence does it..lol
The body is just a shell for our spirit, essence, energy....whatever you want to call it. Once the shell is gone, the energy has to go somewhere. It is my belief that this energy can be reborn into another shell.
When you die you see all. Everything you wished to know, all answers are there.
Then you wait until you come again to fix what you couldnt find it in you to do in this life.
Reincarnation~literally "to be made flesh again", as a doctrine or mystical belief, holds the notion that some essential part of a living being (or in some variations, only human beings) can survive death in some form, with its integrity partly or wholly retained, to be reborn in a new body. This part is often referred to as the Spirit or Soul, the 'Higher or True Self', 'Divine Spark', 'I' or the 'Ego' (not to be confused with the ego as defined by psychology).
I once believed in reincarnation, then in afterlife, but now I just don't care that is then and this is now. Death is inevitable and we just need to embrace it when it happens.
All we can do is embrace death because once we are born we start to die as soon as we take our first breath. I believe that theres a place we go to be it heaven or something else thats full of peace & happiness
Through all my near death experiences in this life (yes, I've kept track as much as I can) and from what my dreams tell me, I do believe in reincarnation. Call me crazy, but since I was five years old I should have been dead 6 times already. And my dreams? I believe they show my glimpses of the happenings of my past life. In these dreams I'm always running from something, or doing something that would put oneself in a lot of trouble, the final thread of these dreams shows my past self committing suicide with a poisonous snake. Taking these dreams into account (and seeing that I more than likely was not a good, moral person) as well as all my near death experiences, I believe fully in reincarnation. It all tells me that when one dies, they move on to their next life to reap what they sew and fix mistakes (or make more, in some cases).
Also I'd like to put out there that when one dies, 20 grams of energy goes missing from the body. If one is dead, how are they to lose weight in any form unless that 20 grams is their soul moving on?
i believe are spirits are reborn to finish whatever tasks they may not have achieved in the former lives , so to me it is a neverending cycle of death and rebirth
I, like so many others' on this thread, believe in reincarnation. I believe that your spirit is reborn to continue on the journey of life and complete the little side notes that it skipped over in the previous life.
I believe that we are only alive after our body dies. After our mortal body dies, our soul begins it truly free life.
Hmm thats a hard one to answer since i have not experianced any death yet however...
I believe that the soul lives on- partly because its something more interesting to look forward to than everything just ending but more accurately throught the things that my mum has seen through her career as a paramedic.. ie one time when someone died a halo appeared around his head - unless there is a scientific explanation for that :P
When living your life as you were already dead, nothing have you to fear from death.
Well my thought is after you die your spirit guide to your loved ones who still walk this earth.
i still find the idea of reincarnation seemingly realistic along with the ideas of a paralellel unverse or universes :D
personally I can feel my soul in every cell of my body, I can even feel the excess energy escaping with my breath, if I take time to just sit back and focus I can pretty much sense it in it's entirety. I believe it's going to be reborn after my corporal body has died, over and over, until it learns all that it wishes and ascends to some form of higher plain... but that's just me
death is like change of trains , a junction and transit lounge sometimes
it is by no means an end, as birth is no means a beginning, birth and death are inextricably linked in this manner
that all that is born must die, and be born again, till there is no longer a need to
the purpose of it all is perhaps to take in the entirity of human experience
that existence is its own purpose, one exists purely to exist and be in the bliss of that being
that it takes
that many cycles around the wheel to get soaked in all the juice, and then that many morem to lighten , to squeeze it all out, and get back to the oneness
it is about choice, that determines the dance, how the vectors will play out
i often tell myself that the thing to be feared isnt death but birth
as birth implies death , it means all of it allover again
if anything is to be feared, it should be birth not death
this is why suicide doesnt work it isnt a viable option to escape, if only it was that easy lol
one has to come back to everything that one runs away from, this is fact and known
like a song says
"he who forgets is destined to remember"
also it is self evident that death cannot be the end, as it all seems incomplete, one life seems insufficient and somehow inadequete to take in the length breath and depth of human experience, it doesnt make sense that this is all there is
also birth doesnt seem like a beginning as there is so much known even at birth , so much that is already formed in a newborn so much that is individual and seperate that doesnt seem like stage zero
i for one have never felt in my experiences that i have lived for only the years that this body has been on the earth, that feeling has never happened, also that this being can end
i have always felt like i have always been and always be
so that is my personal take on the matter
I believe we are clearly unique and individual living beings. Eternal, yes! We clearly are much more than we see in the mirror. Much too complex. Not sure what happens to our essence/soul. I think we do exist after this body dies.
I agree with Andaluz..
One of the first posts here made me shake my head. why would someone be afraid to speak on the subject because we are on the internet. Wonder what ingram caused that little bit of paranoia.
I subscribe to the whole "constant energy" theory. We just change forms. Energy doesn' t just vaporize. I'd be a comedian if I could sparea guess at where the next transformation would take us but I can's say I'm not thoroughly curious!
some die long before their physical deaths
and it is these deaths from life which hasten the mortal death and final curtain
just because there is rarely a THIRD ACT in the theatre of life, this does not mean it is always the case.
Again I have lived dead inside for many years, parts of me more dead than others, and as the wave of death passed through me, there was one freckle of soul left in me somewhere, and in order to be reborn in the same flesh with the same soul I had to give up even that one freckle of life power.
Most would have hung onto that thing in them that was still alive, and they would die, but it is in the giving into death after fighting vsaliantly all your lfie which, when done with no regrets brings peace at this moment of expiration.
It is with such peace of mind brought by bodies of work and accomplpishments that we can relinquish life, and have the peace of mind to sleep on the ferry ride to the underworld and be refused entry on the other side. While we slept we did not see the others freak out that they wasted their lives and have that exasperated look on their faces, we drooled over the side of the boat and the coin in our mouths to pay Charon with slipped into the River Styx, and so at the point of dismbarkation and entry into the after life
we are turned away because death did not fazde us, and we are given life again, not because we have shown courage in the face of death
but because we have lived with gusto, that wave of vitality may be the very thing that ressucitates us when we have crossed over.
I believe that the body rots and becomes part of the earth but the spirit or soul carries on through time, becomming different living things once again.
Upon death, the body becomes a shell that can be discarded. I believe the soul carries on .
I dont know what happens but I do hope there is life after death. I want to see my loved ones again.
I have been told I have had several lives, and that I have not made it past my teen years but, each time my current mother I have had more then once.
I think that when your body dies your soul/essence leaves it and goes to a sort of limbo state waiting room, then returns to a new body dependant on actions in your previous life.

I believe our souls are reborn until we get it right. As in repaying some wrong done is a previous life or simply making ourselves a better person each time.
I believe that upon death our soul immediately and eternally go to heaven or hell, and it depends not on what you do in life, because we are imperfect, but whether or not you have a relationship with the one true God. I'm protestant in case anyone who reads this is curious.
I believe you come back to finish the things you started and live a better life....I.E. finding your soul mate , correcting a wrong , or helping another
i know i have said this befroe somewhere, my belief is that this is like a training ground. we are here to learn. maybe this time around you learned what it is to love, and maybe last time you have learned the concept of truth. you keep coming back until you have learned all that you were meant to learn and can then advance to the next plane, i like the theory posted in here about ether and becoming part of the stars. who can say that they are not, in theory a whole new form of life where you utilize the things you have learned here.
Death is a part of a cycle, including rebirth and reincarnation. What happens between physical death and rebirth is speculation, but I believe you create your own afterdeath experience. If you believe you have a soul of course, and there is an afterlife.
And yes, Vampyres have souls, if they want them.
Death can be seen as a second chance to live life in a different manner as to your last. Working on this principle, evidentally we start from scratch, but it's how we learn and what we choose to learn that makes the difference to this opinion. I'm sure you'll all have noticed how some are more 'mature' than others right? Well this could be seen as a past life experience provoking a certain behavioural pattern so you skip a certain learning stage (i.e. thinking out of the box, see?) and get on with learning more about the things you ran out of time for in your last life.
Also, who is to say you'll be back on this earth as a different person?
It could be that everytime you die, you're reborn somewhere else? Maybe our times are a little warped and you'll find yourself back here in 7098 or 1210? You never really know, I'd say, don't think about it too much and just be patient to see what happens when the time has come, for now, go out and learn more, enjoy more and experience more.
-End of Blab-
I believe that we become someone or something else after we die
I believe in Reincarnation to the fullest. Our souls move on after our bodies perish, and we are reborn into another body to live and to learn again the things we once knew. And through this process, each new time we are born, we can learn of our past lives through our new ones. The courses of actions that we take now, we most likely have taken in the past. The cycle....never ends, but certain people will know more about past lives than others. These people, we call the Ancients.
Well, this is not only a complex issue in general, but even just for me. First of alll, I can't be one to say that there is definately NOT an afterlife of some sort or another, seeing as how a friend of mine has a poltergeist, or some sort of prank-pulling spirit of sorts residing within his home. On a side note, I don't believe in a heaven or hell, being personally without religion. Also, having been legally dead for about 7.5 minutes before after getting hit by an SUV and either experiencing nothing, just goes to further my lack of belief in another life after this one. Or perhaps I just don't reember anything of what it was like to be dead as some sort of spiritual rule, or something to that effect.
lol....I have heard that your hell is to relive your life till you get it right....
i try to keep an open mind and it seems as though many beliefs have merit. one mans hell is another mans heaven, heard that before? funny as i dont believe in either as an actual place.
I actually would like to believe that we don't die completely but after a short reprieve we are reincarnated...I think there are too many lessons to be learned in one lifetime...and we must learn them before we are truly worthy to enter Heaven...
Of course the next question is, who decides when all the lessons are learned?
L x
Life is not a rehearsal for yet another stab at life until you get it right.
Life, despite all its illusions, is real and a once in a lifetime opportunity to get it right.
Death is an illusion. It does not end when the soul has outworn its shell (body).
What happens to us after we leave our body at the end of our time on earth is determined by how we spent our life here.
We'll all be finding out, one way or another, soon enough ...
im going to stay on this earth and never leave because i did a binding spell to keep me here through Anton LaVey memnoch666
I believe if you have completed your destiny here on earth thet you returen to the Eternal Source of Light. If you do not complete your destiny there is reincarnation.
My family is a very old family and the Celts believe that we are reunited with the gods....
So, I cannot help but respond to a few previous responses to this thread.
I am not a religious person, I do not have any certain faith, nor do I believe in a "God" but I do in a higher power that could be anything. Now what I want to ask is how people can believe that we just life for 70 years if we're lucky and then die to become nothing? How is it that this Earth was made so perfectly for the cycle of life to take place on that all living breeds will just cease to exist? Surely there is a reason we are here, and I don't think we would have been created in any way, shape, or form to just have our souls disappear. You must remember, it's only your body that dies.
I am not sure wot happens. But i believe that your soul move on to another plain, i have no idea where or who if anyone else is there, but i hope that my love ones will all be there with me and waitin on me.
I wouldn't know cause I haven't been dead yet but I do think that there is something passed this existence. There are many different theories, who knows really.
I don't know what would happen. I hope something pleasant. Or not. Depends on what I'm in when I die....Lol
Though I won't know for sure untill I die, I beleieve in Reicarnation.
I believe in reincarnation also, at least for me. I sometimes think that what happens to you depends on what you believed in your life. If you believe in Heaven/Hell your soul moves onto judgement and reward or punishment. If you believe in nothing at all, your energy rejoins the universe at large. Those of us who believe in reincarnation, rest a bit then are reborn into a new form to continue on our journey. While death is unavoidable, I don't really fear it as I did at one point of my life. Now is just seems the next step along a journey of discovery. But one I'm not in a hurry to take just yet.
Well I believe that when the body dies the spirit lives on, and this is why we sometimes experience deja vu. Or other bizarre flash backs.
Well, I believe in reincarnation. I agree with you on that, the spirit does live on. some of us are lucky enough to carry on and be reborn and some of us just walk the earth waiting to pass on and be reborn.
well i think that like is a game and when u die u either become a holder of a controle of another or u come back and play the game again while some ones controling u
well I do not belie
I believe in the one fake god who has through error in evolution made the birth defect of Soul in us. Humans are the only beings with soul, except for Vampire Elves they have soul.
The soul without blood is nothng, and I don't mean bloddline this time, I mean the soul without blood rushing through the brain, the soul dies
there spirit either sticks around or it doesn't. Some people have the destiny to not have a destiny, and others like me pretend to be important
I don't belie, what I know i the soul is a freak mishap of how we come out when we are pressed when we are born
The one fake god told me so
my soul the way I look at the word cannot be passed on to a child, it cannot even be captured in the big gigathread in the sky, my soul or any is misunderstood, and it is a curse to think we are something anything at all, anything to give, or are special have a destiny, a purpose or even have the right to have a second chance at getting it right when we screwed it u in the first 20 lives we had to do it right.
Simply put, we are nothing, in a past life I was a puff mushroom someone stepped on and my fake god resurrected me to bring me back because the one great fake god in the sky thought I should have a chance to get the dew of at least one night on my puff mushroom head.
I thank the one fake god with an offering of my horned kornacopia, and the fake god has given me a gift, he has given me a kaleidoscope to look through and as I looked through it the one fake god took it's fist and jammed the kaleidoscope into my head and I have like a little planatarium inside my mind and I can join with the ether and with my eyes closed, look at the stars inside my head.
Stars are just rats spelled backwards anyways.
Believe me you don't want to be one with the rats or have a kaleidoscope jammed into your head.
we move onto different relms. what you sow in life follows. You dig your own grave/ memnoch666
Having been dead on several occassions I can assure you that there is more to death than simply fading away. I can still recall how I felt and certain images. I know there is an afterlife. There is a "Heaven" and as with anything must have it's negative equivalent, Hell.
This reeks of bullshit. What would be interesting is why you all "think" what you do.
Some here speak for the pure need to speak, purge nonsense into our virtual society. For the rest, you can not be blamed for a weak topic. We are society that is a minority, we relate to topics that most would find bizarre or insane.
So consider this, spirutual topics aside. Once One's body has died, one will remain alive in memories among the living. Perhaps One is truly dead when forgotten.
Or...Are you dead when you bloodline is extinct, do you live through your offspring?
I have lost a few people very close to me over the years, and although they are "dead" to world, they are very much alive in me.
So what of eternal life, after life or what have you?
As DarknessBound previously stated, we will only know what lies beyond when the time comes. This is an age old question with no real answers. It all comes back to individual belief.
one things for sure, we all have our beliefs. sometimes things arent meant to be understood until uve reached ur time of death.
