iv always wondered do objects have a life of there own , i mean when we leave a room do they come alive, if they are live is it natural or inchanted, or when objects are moved and you no you did not do it how did it get moved?
Well, do you think cows get up on their back legs when there aren't any cars around?
i dont know .but i swere that i had a pear of shoes that was cursed. i bought them for six dollers at used store. and i always twisted my ankal in them know matter what i do or how i walk in them
sometimes spirits attach themselves to certain objects.
i bought this evil looking doll from a antique stor and every time i seat a procelin doll or figure buy it its on the floor the next moring
wooo woooo doing the cow dance ( no comments please lol)
But seriously... I don't think objects have a life of their own. Can a spirit in the room move it,could be possible. Can a an object be haunted, could be possible, but from just that I think it would move.... well I'm thinking a doll??? maybe .. don't know. hmmm I guess I just can't see a old brush moving ...hmmmm I'll sit here today.
Lmfao @ Fangor
Well I always find things have moved, and Im like how the hell did that get there, when Im perfectly adamant that I never moved it.
I just put it down to being a scatter brain & misplaced it lol
Some spirits will attach themselves to some things for whatever reasons.Perhaps it was something that seems familiar to them.Or that they had in life.
Or poltergiests may be the culprit.Or another person, who is doing some energy works.
The only time I would think an object would have it's own "life" would be when an individual puts their personal energy into it, or when a spirit attatches themselves to it. Even then, saying the object has a "life" seems like the wrong term for it. Saying an object contains some power behind it? That makes more sense.
hey sexyvamp - why shouldn't shoes have a mind of their own - after all, they do have soles.
seriously though, this is something i have often thought about. when we were kids, we were convinced our toys got up and played as soon as we were asleep. we used to have a bedside lamp made of transluscent hard rubber, shaped like a squirrel on a log. one night, as we were looking at it, it's head turned. we both saw this happen, and we both remember it well.
i dont know the explanation, its a mystery - but it made magic believable to us.
anything's possible. (It would definitely be interesting to see exactly what a dining room table and chairs do when nobody's around.)
that was funny karnstein, certainly objects can become attached from spiritual energy,it matters not really what the object is
i do not believe that an object is alive but every thing around us has a life line flowing though it and we are all connected by the simple flow of life and death does that make scence?
wow, some of what you guys are saying really creep me out... like the doll, and the dining room. LOL!!
but i think maybe they get possessed by a spirit or something... it doesn't have to be violent. it could be someone or something peaceful, like your dead grandmother, taking a physical form on this plane to watch over you... on the doll account... meh... i'd say watch YOURSELF on that matter...
I've touched certain items and have had images and emotions hit me; they were strong emotions and therefore, the images were clear for a few seconds. Not that they are cursed or haunted, but that imbedded in them (for lack of a better word) their last owners' emotions were so strong that even over decades or centuries, they still bear that to others that have ability to see/feel it.
I dont think objects come to life such as an ashtray or something. That idea seems a bit silly to me.
I've heard that spirits can be bound to a certin object..or put into and trapped in a object.Sometimes..things can be cursed..to be owned by bad carma. If that makes sence.
I don't think it's the object itself, but something that is attached to it, maybe it something like a spirit likes it or if it belonged to someone who had died they may be making it move or turn on or whatever
i do not think things come to "life" but I do agree that they have energy and at times the energy is negative and the object appears haunted.
This is my personal opinion but i dont think regular objects has a life of their own but i do belive that everything on earth has energy and that spirits can take control of an object...
My belief is that if there are different things constantly being moved or changed in ones home that it's likely there is a spirit living with you and they are whats making those odd changes becauase they want you to know they are there or they are trying to make contact with you of aome kind. As to objects taking life on their own I don't believe that it's possible because not every single thing is physicaly alive there for it doesn't have a mind of it's own to just get up and walk away, not to mention legs lol.
I also believe in curses, spirits attatching themselves to beings or objects, and spirits being drawn to certain places or things.
spirits can do alot of strange things if we dont watch it.
When I was a young kid my mum bought me a porcelin doll. I HATED that doll. I tried smashing it, hiding it, lots of ghastly things.
& she always put it back on my dressing table. At night it's eyes glowed in the dark, I just used to lie in my bed staring at that horrible doll.
I believed it was one of those puppet things from that horror movie the Puppet Master lol
Well... Chucky did go up and about but I doubt Jennifer Tilly ever did.
On a serious note: I do believe objects may be moved by an entity for whatever reason but an object having a 'soul' of its own... It's called an object for a reason.
Enchanted objects are a different story. I do believe an individual can direct force into an object to move it about or give it a bad omen but it would be restricted or temporary. My shoes do move out of their place sometimes but I have five little sneaky kids!
at least i no im not the only one with the doll thing, i swear when i bought it it looked said it was dirty and all the hair was like gone and i thought it nbeeds a hiome and since then i cant give it away and im to paronied to through it away or give it away
I think only a few object if any have a life or are haunted.
i dont think that they come alive but maybe some sprit is drawn to certian items
My old roommate had this Valentine teddy bear that sang "Love Me Tender" in this creepy, child-like voice when you queezed its paw.
One night, around midnight or 1 AM, I'm sitting at the computer, and this bear starts singing right behind me. Surprised, I turned to find it on the floor near a corner of the room. I walked over and picked it up, thinking that maybe one of the cats had stepped on the paw and set it off. While I'm looking at this thing, it starts to sing again, right in my hands!
Needless to say the damned thing found its way to the trash can outside before the start of the next minute!
♥
I agree with the theory of the spirits... I had a friend at the College and she told me that when her grandma died, many things at her house changed... the objects started moving, the pictures hanged on the walls, fell down to the floor, but not any objects, only the ones bought or meaningful for my friend's mother... because her grandma was her father's mom... and she hated my friend's mother..... ***sigh***
I don't think object come to life when no one is looking but I do agree with the idea that spirits do attach themselves to certain objects and that is how they get moved.
sometimes it isn't a spirit that moves the objects. Sometimes, just sometimes, it can be the energies emitting from a living being.
I had the pleasure of actually seeing a real telekinetic in action, in my own house !
♥
but supposing a long chain polymer were to mutate and form some kind of plastic version of DNA? in essence, you would have a living plastic, and if it could become polarized by an energy force of some kind, this would enable a sort of musculator . remember kraftwerk's "showroom dummies"? remember the nestene inteligence and the autons? be very care full when you go past that shop window. is that manikin staring at you?
Has anyone ever seen friday the 13th the series tv show a long time ago? this is what this thread reminds me of.... The show for people that dont know was about a couple of people who went around getting objects that were possesed by the devil and each object had a unique power...
I remember that show waaaay back when they used to show it on the Sci-Fi Channel. That was a good show (a little campy, but wasn't everything in the 80's?).
ahhhhhhhhhh my toaster just bit me lol
there is nothing more aggravating then setting some thing down and it not be there 5 min latter when you know no one but you could have moved it
Its funny because I used to think this when I was little. I'd walk out of my bedroom and stand outside the door trying to catch my dolls walking around lolol.
I think it's possible for a spirit to 'attach' itself to an object- just like spirits haunting places.
I don't know about objects coming to live. That would mean that the objects are not inanimate and well...I don't know..that seems a little far fetched to me.
I have had instances where I thought I put something somewhere and then find it later on in a totally different spot. If I were to believe anything that explains what happened, it would be that a spirit moved it...but, its more likely the case that one of my kid's moved it..hah
I don't think that actual objects can come to life, but I believe that spirits sometimes attach themselves to certain items that were maybe meaningful to them while they were alive.
I don't think it's possible for objects to come to life when no one's around. I've definitely wondered about it though, but I just don't think it happens.
i dont think objects come to life but it is possible that they cab be moved by spirits
Spirits can attach themselves to inanimate objects. I bought an antiue wardrobe that was found to have spirit of a small boy inhabiting it. The spirit was found by a small female child first, who "wanted to play with the boy in the box" and then by others.
I believe that all things have their own energy. The doll you had may have been haunted if you will. That would have had a quick decapitation if I had it! Seriously, I don't think all things spring to life. I believe a spirit may be moving things. It's really a good subject for discussion. It makes people think!
i've had objects move on their own before. just the other day i was sitting at the computer no where near my fridge and things fell off of it.
somtimes i have things that seem to be misplaced not sure how they are so maybe its true afterall
do't belive in haunted objects objects jus don't come alive
I dont think that objects can move on there own but I do beleive that there are spirits that like to make you think your looseing your mind and move them
poltergeists would be my guess.unless of course you telekinetic and not knowing you are.
Most non-living objects are inanimate, meaning that there's not a good deal of animation going on with that object.
So no. I don't think my Cryptkeeper doll has ever come to life and drank any of my booze.
But yeah, that whole spirtual posession thing is trufax.
So every believes evil could not inhabit an object. I have heard of chairs that are evil and kill when someone sits in it ( I believe the coffin chair) i do believe that certain objects may themselves posses evil or spirits.
Okay, LordFangor... that was too damn funny :P
This reminds me of an old Raggedy Ann and Andy cartoon that was the pre-cursor the idea behind 'Toy Story'... the toys would come to life when the kids left the room.
I don't believe in that- but I dig the idea. I do however believe in the energy of a past owner staying with an item. Such as jewelry that has been passed on.
i just believe that if a spirit wants you to know they are there they will move something
It happened in our house with a doll. Feel free to go to my journal and read the story Missing Doll. It's true.
I have not had that happen to me before. No inanimate objects such as dolls, chairs, clocks, etc... but I have had that with trees, whole houses that seem to move, grass, flowers, and things like that. I am not sure if they are haunted per say they may just be communicating in a way of their own.
i guess i believe that maybe some objects retain a little bit of something from their previous owners. i really wish that i was telepathic enough to pick up on it more :(
the only way an object can come alive is through a ghostly energy
I think that object's do not have a life of their own, because if they did someone would have noticed at some point in time. I don't know that's how I percieve things.
If objects had a life of their own, then we'd all have been screwed a long time ago!
I believe spirits may be attracted to certain objects, yes. I have never seen an object get moved on its own however.
There have been some things I've misplaced before and don't remember right away that I had been the one who moved it.
i believe that a spirit can attach itself to an object and therefore, can move around just like a mortal
I don't think objects can move at will. But I do think spirits can take over.
me i think it is quite possible i mean look what exists angles, god, gods, goddesses, demons, spirts, i think it is quite possible i mean i have not seen it my self but maybe i have ya never no, t say no its kinda like closed minded in away , not saying any one is closed minded
well objects can get haunted if they were previously owned and memorries were impressed upon them... and also there is a possibility of spirits/entities that connect with a object in one way or another to why they would move the items at hand..
There is a painting of a pair of earmuffs, scarf and jacket on my bedroom wall. The scarf and earmuffs look like a bears head and body...when I was younger, I was looking at it, and I swear the bear started dancing around and climbed out of the painting...I used to watch it for hours, waiting to see if the bear would dance for me again.
I don't believe that anything happens when things are left alone. I think someone has watched too much "Toy Story" and "Night at the Museum" movies. :)
The REAL QUESTION is:
If a ghost goes BOO! in the forest, and no one is around, does the ghost still make a scary face?
It could be gnomes
They sneak around when no one is looking and move things or even steal things.
Gnomes like warm dry dark places, thus explaining the old mystery of 2 socks into dryer one sock out of dryer.
A gnome just kidnapped moonlight
who started this thread.
I rest my case.
One second she was there the next second she was gone. I swear it.
In most cases of hauntings thing will not move or make sound unless some one is around to see or hear it. That's what I think anyway. I meant why do some thing like that unless one wants to be noticed?
i have a object that of the symbol light as a feather and stiff as a borard along with a old celtic cross that were found in a old cemetary in ireland and i use to wake up seeing a old lady staring at me..was kinda unexpected but i believe items can contain a connection with a spirit.
hey vampizzilla
acutalu they didint kidnap moonlight
she changed her name because m=some hacked her name on here and sent out some realy bad emails and stuff
I've heard of spirits leaving their impression on objects they held dear, and it may be possible that you see signs of their essence....however, I don't think they take on a life of their own.
When I was a kid I used to believe that so I would take turns sleeping with my stuffed animals because I didn't want to hurt their feelings.....I also wouldn't let my mom but the barbies in the toy box because I thought they may suffocate.
The entire scenerio seems far-fetched. I highly doubt inanimate objects project themselves into living existance, but then again...they said we'd never leave the atmosphere.
i really dont care what you people tell me no matter what everything has its own life force to it there you have it theres my daily dose =)
Spirits attach themselves to things as well as land. I don't think we have a Beauty and the beast stuff going on so much as a poltigeist. Also, sometimes, we have the power of mind to move things and not know it, I believe.
its said that spirits can attach themselves to objects only if their death was sudden and they were realy attached to the item so it depends on the "attatchment" like i had a doll when i was little that my grandpa gave me from a garage sale, it started moving on its own so i got creeped out and found out the lil girl who owned it b4 was murdered by her dad...this was her only attatchment to this world
I would love if things came alive when i left the room that would be cool to a point...
It just doesn't seem to have much point, I guess. Why would a spirit move a hairbrush or a doll, etc...? If I am ever a spirit, I hope I get a better gig.
my sister once found a really evil looking clown doll that seemed to have appeared from no where. It had a wind-up key in its back that made it play music. In the middle of the night it would just start to play music and wake everyone up. We finally threw it away but then we found it in to top of her closet. It got creepy enough that we burried it. Then, the closet again.... It took burning that damned thing to get rid of it.!
So, I guess the short of the long is, yes I think some things can have spirits, or spirits attached to them.
I believe that a free spirit could, potentially, posses whatever it wants, including inanimate oblects. but that's just based on my personal experience and beliefs...
i think thats its possible for some things to be powered to move ect ect i believe certain things can be spirited when no one is looking you never know what goes on when u dont see hope i dont need medicine
I don't believe that objects are alive but i do believe that there may be energy in a room from varius sources maybe that could move an object. be it spiritual or some other source is beyond me.
ALL OBJECTS have a spirit, no matter the outcome good or bad, if u see it u have been gifted
I've never heard a story of an object being haunted outside of novels. *shrug* possible I suppose.
Im sure there is a high posibility powerfull enchanted , and haunted items exhist.. The Spear of Destiny for example . I do not think if an object moves on its own it qualifies for cursed . You could be moving it mentaly yourself . Even if you arent , some other unseen force could be in play .
An object doesn't have a life of it's own, but a life can put itself into one.
I don't think the object is really haunted but spirits can attach themselves to objects and move with them. Objects that seem to be moving from place to place on their own are just ones that the spirit uses to get your attention
i'm not sure... one of my ld roommates used to have a terrible time w/ things not being where they were supposed to be and he always claimed gremlins had been in his room... lol... whether it was really gremlins, spirits, or just bad memory i'm not sure
he used to play a trick on me and hide my keys under my pillow. he passed away last year but occasionally i still find my keys mysteriously under my pillow...
oops.. that's supposed to read "one of my old roommates" not ld
I dont see how objects could be alive if they dont breath and poop and eat they have can any object in a room even be haughted that is something I dont think I could ever again there.
I agree with what some of you have to say...about spirits attaching themselves to things or places. But, I do not believe it is the actual thing or place that portrays "life". Some energy must envoke it
I don't think they are alive but I do think that spirits/ghosts are attached or moving things. When I was a teen we lived in a house where a girl lived when she was younger and died. We had a lot of incidents happen, my parents SAW her and thought it was me, but I came in from a date one night, brushed my hair, set the brush down on a desk in my bedroom, turned the light off, got into bed and a few mins later i heard a loud noise. I got up to find the brush in the floor. It appeared that the brush had been thrown against my bedroom door.
My family decided that the girl/ghost may have been envious because she died right before the age of dating and didn't get that opportunity. That was just a guess. We also had lights turn back on after they were turned off, pictured found face down, lots of things.
I think a lot of spirits are drawn to what they were familiar with before they died.
I'd also like to add that I think some spirits are drawn to certain people. I don't think it's a coincidence that I have lived in several haunted houses. I think they know who is open and receptive to them and who is not.
Spirits can be attached to many different things, be it indoors or out, it can also come from what happened to them in life.
And it is sad to see that the person who started this thread is no longer on VR.
Hope this goes further for more opinions before being closed.
