Do you think it is possible to trap one soul into something materialistic? Lets say person A
Rips out Person B soul and transfers it into say a doll or a piece of jewlery forever cursing them to walk this plane in though objects... Sorta like a "soul stone" or something simlar. Imprisoning because of some crime or a act of revenge.

Trap a soul, i beleive this could not happen, I fear this could not happen to say. A soul is our essence that is only within our bodies,when the body is gone it moves to another plane, Heaven or hell or earth. Trap a soul, like a soul Keeper would be truly a crime. Would like to hear more on this.

Trapping always means some interaction. This interaction has to be defined in clear terms. If this would be possible, some definitions of what a soul is made of would already be available. Therefore, no.

I would say no. However, I do believe that some part of a person's emotions/energy can be 'imbedded' within an object.

i feel that your soul needs some kind of human or animal body to keep your soul alive while on earth

trap another person,s soul impossible but putting a spell on your soul to be bend to something then this somethign powerfull, but it is a one way spell, so if you choose that you have to realise there is no backspace button to restart over, its a one way spell.

I think it IS possible to hex a Soul / spirit, but only via a powerful spell. But spells like that are always reversible, imho.

However, it has been known for spirits / souls to dwell within matter, such as Stone, Igneous Rock, Brick etc, so why can it not be forceably placed there?

I'm sure there are many who practice the Vodun faith who might argue that it's quite possible to trap someone's soul in an in animate object.

soul trapping is possible...but it has to be a hollowed vessel, like a porcelien doll or something like that. I should know about the dolls...I hated those things...I had to deal with them as they moved around. It was so awkward...but yes it is possible...

this is such an awesome question. i once thought that if i could take out the heart adn soul of my friends old old dog (because the dog still acted like a puppy even tho he couldnt hardly walk) that i could jus transfer it into a puppy and it would be ok. but i dont think thats at all possible. if it was, there would be no new need for new souls, we would jus recycle the old ones.

I do think that after death souls roam around. i dont see why it couldnt be trapped. But i dont think it could be placed somewhere else (i.e a new body )

What exactly is a ghost? Isn't that a soul of someone who has passed on? So if things are haunted then isn't that the same thing? A soul being trapped in an object.... and don't they get trapped in things all the time?

Well in disagreeing with the person who says that a soul only exists within our body, what about our conciousness? Everything can exist outside of our shells. Though for it to be forcibly trapped by another person, I don't believe so. Now voluntarily is quite possible.

well I do not believe that your soul can be trapped in anything yet the spirit of someone may be trapped. I feel our soul is our true essence and that it is free to move on once we our gone. A persons spirit is more of the mind to me and it could be trapped or fooled to remain and not be free to move on with our souls, may sound crazy yet, it is something to think about.

I think it could be done. I have owned a few things, like dolls that I swear are more then just a doll. Also I had a radio that did stange things. I had it looked at many times and no one could figure out why.

I believe that it is possible. the "soul stealer" would have to be an extremely powerful person to do such a thing. It would be an awful thing to happen to anyone, and hopefully if it does happen, the incidents are few and far between.

Taken this into account Should it not be hard to transfer such into something else after death into such things even if temporary to such as a doll, object, or even a entirely new body or such? example your corpse takes on too much damage to sustain itself so your soul leaves it IE you die but your spirit travels into another corpse that someone already died of something simple so your spirit takes shelter into such and the corpse is brought back with you inside...

That's a very good concept, but I believe that a soul can only live in something that is living. I don't believe rocks or water has a soul per say, though they do have energies, a human or animal on the other hand, does.

I believe the soul is a metaphor for the essence of us. I also believe that this essence only stays alive through memory... so no, I don't think that my essence could get trapped in, lets say, a wooly jumper, unless that was a jumper that people remembered me by!

my thought of this is, no a soul can not be trapped. Unless by a force far greater then any kind that is allowed to walk this earth its self. A soul, is free and flowing, something that can't become a true soild besides for the time it is within a body, but even then, it isn't a true soild.

I don't think you can trap a soul into an object but as for the case of us being trapped in these bodies I think that is more a case of using this body to learn all we can of this life. If one never feels pain how can they feel pleasure.

There are a lot of things out there today and has been there since the beginning of time that people have always said that can not be done or that is a fairy tale until someone steps forwards with the means in which prove it is possible... remember people used to believe that the world was flat... That the earth was the center of the universe and science have proven them wrong or a soul human being proved them wrong being that the technology of that time was able to be used to prove such things are possible or proving them wright or wrong. That is what i base my facts on that Yes this is very possible because there might be someone out there who knows how to actually do such a feat or maybe a way has yet to be discovered to be able to do so just yet... It is just a matter of time before prove of weather yes or no.

I highly doubt that someone is that powerful. I do not think that someone could trap your soul. Your soul is who you are, when you die it moves on to another level of existence.

Its possible to curse/hex someones soul but to trap it for all time (or even for some time)

Seriously tho.. I think a soul can be summoned up, and then dictated to.. ergo, 'trapped'. I don't think that Joe bloggs (AANYONE) can do it, it'd have to be done by someone very experienced at Summoning the dead.

I'd say its very possible.In folklore in things they say not to have mirrors in the room(for dead people)because the mirror would trap the soul and it wouldn't be able to get out.

Plus how many of u have seen Inuyasha?Kanna,the little girl with the mirror,she was a demon that could trap souls and she could control the dead bodies with the mirror......XD
