I ask this because as of late I have been looking inwards trying to understand why many who see me call me and mine out here in VA Demons? I wish to see how many others out there view them selves and how they feel about what the world views them.
I am trying to change but find them more I wish to do so the more I feel alone...

There is nothing wrong with being who/ what you are. Nor is there anything wrong about being low key. Big difference between hiding and staying in the shadows.

But are we evil because we are vampyric? I am trying to find peace in this life, I once could have said I was happy with what I am but find that looking back I have hurt many for being what I am. that makes me feel bad for being what I am.

I see the world in a very negative way. I believe that if you try to be your self, People would consider you strange or weird.

I know I am naughty and kinky and not like the vanilla's', but that is okay with me. I do not see myself as a demon. I am a good person even though I like to participate in what vanillas' would think unexceptable behavior. I am not hurting anyone. I don't worry about them and I don't think I will go to hell for my decisions.

We have done this "are vamps evil" thing soo many times here on VR. Do we need to do it again? As for finding peace in this world, for get about it. (sorry no Brooklyn accent) One will never find peace in this world, you are not meant to. Peace is found within you. So leave the guilt somewhere else and get with the program.

i dont find myself to be evil for what i believe in i dont see a point in putting myself down for something that others dont agree with. and you shouldnt either. do you really view yourself as evil? do you really, deep down inside think that the life you live is wrong? or is it that people are thinking this about you so you are starting to second guess your own beliefs, if everyone started telling you the world was flat would you believe that too or stick to your belief that it is infact round? just something to think about before you change yourself just to please others

I see that I use to make others happy then they try and change me into what others think I should be and when I don't they leave and the reason is that I am evil or to dark as they like to put it. but in my heart I think I am one who trys to help others by all means I tell others to be who you are but find now that being me I find pain and lonlyness

most people only come into your life because they see a part of you that they want to change they see in you a little boy crying for help but in actuallity you arent. They are the people in this world that think that everything should be equal the same they think that there way is the right way and im betting they never took the time to ask you about your true beliefs before shoving theres onto you..... right?

Do not change who you are to suit others. If people don't like who you are, then you don't need them. This is just one of the reasons I have few people in my life I can actually call "friend".

People usually take issue with other people's lifestyles either because their own personal beliefs conflict or because of misinformed opinion.

I doubt that people think you're a demon unless they are just unaware of what a demon is. They more likely think that you're insane.
The word "vampire" to most people conjures up images of Dracula and the immortal dead corpses of television and movies. We all know that no one on this site is one of these . I think it's all in how you portray yourself. There will ALWAYS be people who are just intolerant. But most people are open to accepting others as long as it's not being shoved down their throats.
It's why the homosexual who preaches to his straight friends about how "accepted" he should be is usually less accepted than the one who just lives his life and answers questions when asked. Or why the Christian who goes bible thumping door to door doesn't get as far as the one who just lives what they believe.
I would ask the question..what does it matter? I understand being honest with someone about who and what you are..and getting to know people. I also know that when I'm in a public setting I don't walk up to people and say,"Hi. I'm a 30 year old massage therapist who believes in Oriental Taoism and Naturalistic healing. I burn incense at night and do yoga to purify my mind and body."
If you're approaching people in that manner..."Hi..I'm a vampire. I drink blood." then they are going to think that you're a nutjob.

If you want to be accepted in today's society..then give people reason to accept you by how you interact with them;)

I posted some thing like this not to long ago. Vampires are seen as demons in some cultures. But I think that it comes down to the individual. You choose if you are "good" or "evil".

I don't think you or others are evil. I believe it takes all kinds for this world to go round.

It is my understanding that vampyres are seen as demons b/c of how stories and movies have portrayed them. they're captivating, beautiful, sexy, dangerous. a very nice mix to allow one's imagination run with. however, once the safety of the pages of the books and silver screen have gone away, its a whole different ball game altogether. people are afraid of that which they do not understand. they will go to great lengths to destroy it.

I know you, and I know that you are in no way evil. have you made some mistakes in the past? yes. everyone has. nobody is perfect. have you realized those mistakes? from what i can tell, you have, or you wouldnt be trying to change. you need to stay true to who you are; to who you want to be, not to who others want you be or think you should be. you're never going to please everybody, so just work on pleasing yourself. now, who is it you want to be? are you the person you think you were ment to become? if not, then figure out who it is you want to be. dont dwel on the angry and hateful words of the people who dont want to understand you or the people who think you're evil. the fact that you asked if you were evil or not indicates that you have belived, because of your actions and intentions, that you were a good person.

At first, it seemed a question of comparing vampirism to demonic persona, then a Doestoevskyian quest to better oneself, and back to how demons compare to our understanding of modern vampires.

Firstly, congratulations on taking some sort of action on bettering yourself. A lot of people just try to justify how they've been so they don't have to recognize their own failures, which is an important part on the road to change.

And who the hell said change is a bad thing? Honestly, fuck those high school fucks who write "Never change!" in yearbooks. Without change, nothing could ever, EVER, get better.

Secondly...okay, fine, I'm crazy, whatever. But a lot of demons, literal demons, are not much more impressive than your garden-variety high school goth kid bent on impressing an attractive prep, or "vanilla", which is apparently a new term for prep, I'm getting old, and that's sad. I suppose what I'm trying to say is...if you have to ask such a question as "Are we evil demons because of what we are", then you who ask the question are not evil, because evil does not question itself. You either ARE a monster, or you're NOT. You don't get a guilty fuckin conscience. Playing with evil just gets you a guilty fuckin conscience. That's cool, RK, but what if who you are fits in with what society accepts as normal? At some point in your life, did you decide to actively be someone who is not the norm? If that is the case, aren't your actions being dictated by society anyway?

In any case, what does that have to do with either demons or changing to better yourself or vampires?

I apologize for offending you, Sapphire. I do mean that. The "f" bomb is my friend, and I spend a lot of my time in real life actively not saying it because I'm babysitting for my friends' children. (I swear...I am the last of my group to have children...they are everywhere. Or at least seem to be.) The Rave is my outlet, and I don't get to come here much. This is, in fact, the first time I've posted in threads in months. It doesn't excuse my being rude, but it does go a lot toward venting pent-up aggression.

I believe that its all a matter of perspective. To properly answer the question, one would have to define evil. Perception is always going to depend on who is judging whom. Just my thoughts.

theres good and evil everywhere and everyday. are we evil? are we more evil than someone who sends innocent kids to war to die? or hooks kids on dope? c.e.os that empty employees pension? i say no.

A lot of people think that others that are different are sstrange. Vamps aren't demons...they just live differently. Wamps drink blood to thrive...and humans eat animals to survive....and animals eat plants to survive. I realize that is a broad generalization, but I think I got my point across.

Even though there is nothing condemning vampires in the bible, because of hollywood they are presumed evil. LNA: I have never stood in your shoes, and so based on that my views would only be assumptions. It is not fair to judge people on that concept.

Having known you for a few years online, I know you think differently from some others, but it is refreshing to met someone who is not scared to voice their opinions even if at times what they believe in, doesn't fit wthin the norms of society dictates.

When I glance through some of the profiles here, believe me it leaves you quite sane!

explain to them cocepts like freedom of religion and the god granted freedoms of life liberty and the pursuit of happines set out in the declaration of independence and the constitution of the united states.

Dude, evil is subjective. People fear what they don't understand. I do not fear psychic vampirism or think it is evil in general- but at the same time I don't believe all 'practioners' are good.

Evil? Vampyres evil? Just like humans, you can choose to be evil or not. Though "Evil, Bad, or Demon" is usually from a point of veiw. There is always different ways of seeing one person.

You have people out there that say those things, because they do not understand. Remember when ignorant people, don't understand something or don't try to understand. They will point fingers and just say you're evil. So they will feel better. So, they don't have to make themselves understand.

A "vampire" is no more evil than any other person. It's what the "vampire" does in life that defines whether or not they are evil. But the same can be said for anyone.

I don't think anyone should change who they are, just because society thinks of them as different. You are not evil because of vampyric, wiccan beliefs. Everyone has teh right to choose what and who they want to be. If we were to act and be like everyone else then the world would be pretty damn boring. It is not that I myself see myself as a demon no, nor do I shout it from the rooftops that I am vampiyric but I do not hide it ether. my ex and I where together for 4 1/2 yrs. so she knows what and who I am she is just letting her family lead her in there path so now she says I am way to dark for our son and that they are right I am a demon because of the way I live my life. those who know me on here know I stand my ground and that my heart and doors are open to all of our kin anytime they need me. I guess I just need to know if what we are is evil as the outside would says we are. to hear what my brothers and sisters have to say on it. I guess I seek out support in a way because I feel alone with what is happening to me.

There are a lot of pity parties that go on in this forum about 'why does the world hate me?' 'why do people fear vampires?' I think this is just plain obvious.

When you call yourself a vampire- the world knows that term as it was first and foremost meant to BE- a bloodsucking corpse. I can see why that would scare society, why can't anyone else? I can also see why those dressed up in Halloween costumes and fake blood while saying they are vampires freaks people out.

You know- I have found the most reliable sources and mentors in the psychic vampire community are not even 'goth'. Many are, many aren't.

I think you should realize there is a time and place for everything. I wouldn't parade things that would scare others then sit back and ponder why I wasn't accepted.

the status of evil should be put lightly, demons arent evil becuase of what they are, it is what we do that determines out status in this world and the next.

No, I don't think that being a vampire/vampyre makes one "evil". It is all a personal decision to be as morally right or wrong with your decisions in life just as any non-vampyric person.

I think that most people that say we are "evil demons" are ignorant to the facts and are maybe scared. So they just shrug it off as being evil instead of trying to understand our ways..

I truly think there's no evil in being as we are... we are vampires (at least I'm one) and I'm not evil... I don't hide what I am either...

Does living a dark lifestyle or as a vampire make you "evil"? I would say that one does not necessarily mean the other. Thats like saying all goths are depressed and worship satan. There is a HUGE over generalization in this whole realm of life. I guess in regards to your son...does he eat regular meals.....do you make sure he bathes, sees a doctor, goes to school if he is old enough? do you spend time with him...nurture him? THESE are measures of good parenting...what you wear or where you hang out or your hobbies do NOT determine if you are a good parent. Although I will agree with a few posts I have seen thus far talking about maybe determining the time and place for your lifestyle tendencies to show....some places and people cannot and WILL NOT understand by choice. I have found in smaller communities....it is best to just be YOU and the nitty gritty need not be shared with those that dont need to know. Hell my appearance already throws people for a loop...if I went around telling them all that I am an empath and an awakening psy vampire they would all be looking to send me to the loony bin for fear of the unknown. If we are speaking strictly of "evil" (without the fictional "demon" part), it is my view that "evil" can perhaps best be defined as doing harm to another or others for some perceived benefit or satisfaction or pleasure to oneself. The degree of Evil is conditional upon the degree of harm and the insensitivity to that harm the perpetrator thereof exhibits to inflict such. And taken to its "least common denominator," such insensitivity and enjoyment in the harm done to another or others represents selfishness and vanity taken to its ultimate degree. Therefore, "Evil" is the ultimate expression of selfishness in causing harm to others for one's one personal gratification and/or benefit.

All else re: demons, etc., is irrelevant to the issue of what defines us as either "evil" or not.

Sadly there are people who negatively label others, whom practise or believe things which they consider to be of a dark and sinister nature. These narrow-minded people tend to claim witchcraft and wizardry to be nothing more than mere devil-worship. Have these people really made an attempt to fathom the true nature of what being Wiccan really is? Chances are pretty good that they have not. It is ignorance that blinds people, but stupidity is what makes them intolerant.

Sweetheart, you are what you feel inside! Just be yourself. Present yourself proudly no matter what people say about you or how they react to your outer being. So what? You may not be perfect? The child in witch I speak of is not yet here, I am told by his mother and her family that I am to dark to be in his life, that in order to be in both of there lives I must change who I am go to worship with them and get rid of everything vampyric and dark. That in the eyes of the Lord I am a Demon, in my heart I don't feel I am. But I must say I do feel lost at this time. I don't know up from down. I feel alone in the dark. It comes down to one's perspective. If your family thinks you are evil, perhaps they are merely caught by the perception that vampires are evil.

Of course being evil and being a demon are two very different things.

People cant except others who are different..Our world is changing into more a plastic view where everything is the same and everyone who is different is looked at like they are from another place.

Personally I feel that vampyr are no more evil than the innocent children who play in school yards. Yet others would see us as evil as satan himself.

Evil is something that others pin on things they cannot be happy about and/or live with in their own conciousness.

For example.....

A mass murderer, when caught, would be sentenced to life imprisonment or maybe death row; yet a soldier (who may in his career kill more innocent people than a mass murderer) is PAID to do the very same job. Who is evil there?

Be yourself and change for noone. If you try to be what everyone in the world wishes you to be, you will continously be changing who you are.

Under whose definition? All that matters is what you know to be true unto yourself. It is our choices, our decisions that make us who we are. Whether they be good or bad. The people who judge and shout out how evil another person is are the ones who should read the text about forgiveness, about holding your tongue when it comes to judging. The "blessed" in the lord, are often more ignorant of their own sins for they think everything they do is in the name of a lord they pay lip service to.
