In my cousin's old house, there was a spirit on the main floor and a spirit couple on the second floor. The couple was rather helpful in that they would go around and straighten things up at night and move dog toys and such that were left in the hall of to the side or back where the object belonged. You could tell they were there by a significant decrease in temperature in the room or hall, and every now and then you would catch a glimpse of the woman at the end of the hall. As far as our research went, the spirit couple were the original owner's of the house that had both passed due to natural cause's during the depression. My cousin and his wife were seeing the spirit's on both floors for about three months before I stayed with them for awhile. The spirit on the main floor, on the other hand, was just the opposite. That spirit would move things around so that one would trip on them during the night, he, as far as we know, would knock things off of the shelf so that they would break, and just loved to scare the color out of anybody whenever he got the chance. He would slam doors just as soon as you walked through them, to the point that the doors' would nip you on the heels if not really get you and knock you down. He would also appear very close to you with two very bright red eyes when you were least expecting it. As far as our research went with him, he was the second owner of the house and we never could find any clear results as to how or when he died. My cousin and his wife have since moved out of the house since they had a baby and were not comfortable with the baby being downstairs at all with what that spirit had done up to that date. The city has since reclaimed the property, and as far as I know, they are going to destroy the house because it is very old and beyond repair at the current state it is in, and either leave it as a vacant lot with various greenery planted there or to build some kind of new building be it a house or whatever the city so decides.
