There are too many options to make this a poll, so let's converse.

There is no 100% agreement on what a real or true vampire is in this forum. I know we've all come here for different reasons. What's your reason? The RPG, the Anne Rice fan, the modern-day vampire seeking exchange techniques, and the blood drinker searching for new and different ways to feed. I am sure I haven't covered it all. Perhaps you stumbled across this fun little game of obstacles to complete to get to the grand end and crown of Sire~ and you thought that was a great way to spend free time.

I've heard opinions from people not believing in human vampires, hating fiction, and hating RPG. Maybe there are some here that believe all three, yet here they are surrounded by all of it. Even when it comes down to the very part you play in reaching each imaginary level. You are part of it.

What drove you to join Vampire Rave- and what's your personal vampire truth?

I was first drawn to the site by a friend and when I saw the word Vampire in it that made me want to definately check it out. I have a major interest in Vampires. I love everything about them. I myself have a few traits of a vampire. I can see better in the dark. I hate the sun. I love the taste of blood. I feed off of others energy. I love the night.

Most people see better without light in their eyes, they've tasted blood as children and the first instinct to us is to shove a cut finger in the mouth. They like the night life, they like to boogie, out on the disco uh heyyyy oh yeah.

So is that vampire, or human?

Some people can't see in the dark. They have to have light. People that can see in the dark have a trait. Whether it be Vampire or not. Who knows. And of course our first instinct is to stick our finger in our mouth but who says they enjoy the blood?

It might not be enjoyable- but innate. I hear all the time supposed vampires that would rather not 'be'.

Of course some would want to be human. But I myself do not.

I stumbled over this site, and came back again. i then looked at it more closely and saw i could learn more about myself on here and that it was a great way to spend time and meet new pple. I believe there are vampires, that they cant walk in direct sun lite, they need blood, but dont have to kill, that they live longer than humans.

I just came here thinking that this would be an awesome place to meet more people just like me... evil/sometimes friendly/emo/goth/punks etc... And I thought that this was a really kool site because I'm really "into" Vampires and stuff...

And well I've grown to love this site for the 2 months and a week that I've been here...

I am interested in real and fake vampires and the occult and things of that nature, so when I stumbled upon this site, i thought I would check it out, found that I enjoyed myself, and eventually even also managed to land my fiance whom I met here, so for me it does not matter what I believe or disbelieve agree with or not agree with I found a happy little home here, that also ended up giving me a happy real life.Plus I enjoy meeting all these wonderfully different people that I would not have been able to meet any other way!

My Wife was the one who brought me to this site. I decided to join because I wanted to discuss new ideas and theories on occultic matters. Aswell different beliefs and Magick paths that people follow. To express what I am with people with open minds.

I'm no Human I' m a Prime Walker Vampire so that's what i signed up on here for.

Being human has it's advantages but so does being a Vampire.

In all seriousness, I am here because I enjoy being around the Others in society, be they fully human, or slightly...skewed.

Only people like this can hold my interest, and while I can't stand a large majority of anyone, every now and again I find people here...worthwhile.

Also, Eris asked me to come here. So there you have it.

I was told of this place by some friends from other vampire forums I belong to.
I had hoped and have found some good friends here.
I am a sang/psi vampire and have been so for many years.

I found this site while researching Vampires. I found it very intriguing and full of information. The information ranged from movies to music to books to opinions and to other websites. I met a lot of interesting people while on my search. I have been a member for almost two years now. I am a member of a coven and I enjoy spending time on here.
Whether or not I believe vampires exist remains to be unknown. There are to many points to speculate on. I am still waiting on the day when I can meet one in person. Then I can make my conclusion to my seach.

i'm in love (so to speak) with the Vampire ways and all it stands for.... i do not live the life style of a Vampire.... this gives me a chance to kinda step into that world if only for a little while.... i truely enjoy being here and have met some awesome ppl.....

I,ve always been fascinated by vampires, and I am most of the time a goth, I just cant at school, being in private school, but in wrestling for exemple, my character is a gothic nice chick, and love everything about vampires and goth

I came out of a curiousity..and an innate desire for knowledge of any kind. To learn more about one of your passions is a joy to me.

From my earliest memories I have always regarded myself as Vampyre. I had pretty much just thought this was a case of fantasy or delusion and was very reluctant to share such information except with a select few such as pagans and wiccans. Then I found this site and discovered that I am not alone.

While there are many here that find vampires fascinating, I have also found many that believe themselves to be true vampires also. It is delightful to be around kindred spirits and view their profiles, read their journals and read some of the really great postings in the forums.

I have found a home that I love!

i am not a vampire. but i do like them ;]
i must say those that i've met that consider themselves vampires are fascinating, usually wise and all around kind creatures ;]
i have things in common with the truth on this site and when a friend recommended it to me i immediately felt it's difference to other websites that claimed to be vampire/goth/whatever
and that's why i've stayed. i've met people here who... understand... a little more than those who surround me. i do not really label myself anything but i do feel i do not fit in and so it was nice to meet people who got that :)

Well I was drawn to the site by a friend, and I must admit at first I really enjoyed the different format and how vr was set out. I liked the challenge of getting my status up, then I joined a coven and my circle of friends and family doubled. As time passed I found the vampiric culture fascinating and started to discover it so to speak. Still on a learning curve, I have always had an interest in this area and glad I have had the chance to explore it more.

well i found this site by accident when i was online looking for goth chat rooms, after 5 mins on this web site i loved it all, im not claming to be a vampire but more of a hunter and ill leave it at that, i have also since joing here had my mom , husband and best friend join , and have made a bunch of friends thats why im here

Basically, I've always been drawn to the occult and dark things in life. I came across Vampire Rave one day more than 2 years ago now while I was researching vampires, and I thought I'd give it a try.

I am a fan of Anne Rice and enjoy all kinds of vampire fiction, but I do not for a second believe that they truly exist or engage myself in RPG or such... I like to fantasize and imagine things, but I prefer keeping it at a sane level.

Having always had an intrest ia all things occult and mystical VR was a great fit. My husband KCRC first started his profile (which we shared for a short period). After about the second or third time on I was hooked and started my own profile.

I like vampires and i like occult subjects and i like meeting people into thoes subjects so that is why i joined VR...

I came here because I thought it would be a good place to meet other people like me, and because vampires facinate me [=

as to MY vampire deal, I have no issue with rpg'ers.....this is just not a site for that
I feel that everyone alive is capable of energy transfer, but only some will either develop it through practice, (as I do) or have a need due to a lack of energy without having it developed( as in the case of actual sang's)

I was given the website to VR by the person who runs a local occult bookstore during one of our many chats. Before I registered I read the forms off and on a few weeks. It was the good debates on many different topics that gave me the desire to register and start a profile.

i am a blood drinker i came on here to find people who might know how i felt about things threw having the same needs in life and maybe some exceptionse in life

A friend told me about this site and wanted me to join...it been cool here so far..she just was thinking it would be fun to have a wolf here..she didnt know at the time that there where any here

A friend showed me her profile and explained that she found the site fascinating. I joined and found the diversity kept me interested. I love the forum and have made some good friends here.

The dark side of life has always intrigued me. While I may not claim to be a vampire, I can appreciate the seriousness this site has to offer along side of the crazies that fill its halls.

I came across this site quite by accident. Built a profile and thought I'd check it out.. and it's been my home away from home ever since. The draw for me is not only the vampire aspect, but the diversity of the anti-mainstream gathering we have here. As far as vampires go...fact, fiction, rpg.. I find it all fascinating.

I have always found Vampires and the paranormal very interesting. Also, I am quite clairvoyant and wanted to meet others like myself.

My personal truth is that we all connect and share in the universal consciousness. With that we are all one, and so we use and take each other's energy.

There are no boundaries if we alter our thoughts to step away from standard thinking.

It's a place to meet those who won't judge, I am an energy thief and manipulator, sounds negative, but I always give back, and fix what is broken

I joined out of interest in vampires and the society associated with them.

I got invited to join by a friend. The site looked interesting, so I decided to stay. Plus, I've never encountered a place with Status levels. That.....intrigues me.

The vampire of legend I grew up with and have been entertained by through the silver screen and book.

That is why I am here.

Um, I love playing RPG's and getting as high as I could was not the 1st reason. I actually joined because my wife "raved" about it, so I joined out of pure curiosity. Then, the gamer in me took over and I had to get as high as I could. I think I have achieved that. And I'm pretty happy about how things have turned out.

I came here mostly to meet people who are into the same category of things I am. Namely, and obviously, vampires.

I had a friend on yahoo telling me about this website. I thought it sounded really awesome because I am all about the vampires. I don't claim myself as one I just really love the vampire lore.

I stumbled on this site by a search I typed in the word vampire and there it was and I joined I have been here for almost three years now. I have been intrested in vampires for many years now.

Many contradictions, many oxymorons for the stereotypical I am this, I claim to be that. I do think I know what you are getting at.

I came for a mature site where judgement was outcasted, where maturity prevails, where online friendship is to be had, where learning is relevant.

Numerous reasons, but as you can see, I am still here.

a friend told me about this site when she discovered my fascination with Vampires. she joined a few days after i did but she didn't like it here and stopped coming.

if i could be a Vampire i would have to be a daywalker and have it all.

I was bored. I can connect with vampires feelings. The feeding, Im constantly hungry for chicken n jellybeans. I dont have a sleeping schedule. Its just whenever. I have good senses. Ect ect.

I was brought here by a friend of mine who knew i was very deep into the dark side of things.now i stayed cause of my love of dark things.I don't call myself a vampire or werewolf or any of those..thou i do like the taste of blood.I tend to let my own fantasy world come alive here and i have met alot of people that share the same beliefs as i do.For me..this is my sanctuary of sorts.

a friend of mine showed me VR...and told me I have to join...and I looked at the idea behind all of it...and I was like sure why not as I wonder everyday about 'mythical being'...which I think are not so mythical......I just am here to learn and understand more about vampires/vampyres...

First and foremost, I am who I am. I sleep very little, I prefer the night, but I am not one that says I cannot walk in the night. I am not into RPG's, well, I like some on PS2 or in the bedroom. (And that is only for my lover Sandman). I love biting. And, I have a lot of vampyric characteristics. I am completely into the dark scene. What brought me to VR? The desire to meet people who aren't judgmental of me and my ways. To make new friends and share experiences with people. And, to find out what other people think about vampires and their history.

I joined to find kindred spirits. Those of my kin and those who will/would understand me. Many may not believe what I am, but that's their preferance if they choose not to believe. But I am, what I am.

I have to agree with Cherryblossom. I had never heard of it until I was sent an invite. And I have been a member now for almost 2 years. But it was not only vamps that it dealt with but also the many different magicks and myths that many others do not want to deem as being real...and I was able to find others who believe or enjoy what I do. I have made many new friends on here...and I think it's great.

Well for me it was a friend that led me here. Scince I have been here its not just the friends that I have made but the knowledge that I have gained that has kept me here. I am a creature of the night which my family has not been able to understand.

I found this site purely by accident..I was just surfing vampire stuff..and when I got here..I said ooo I belong here..so I joined, been here around 2 years, and I love it. Being around Others who are like me is good..but just meeting a wide variety of people is wonderful..I have made some very dear friends here.

I have always found myths and legends fascinating..so there started my interest in vampires. I am also an RPG-er..the chance to be someone you are not is always interesting..I am vampire-mostly psy but sang as well..I have just known from the time I was little that I was...different. I dont go out of my way to make it known, but neither am I ashamed of it.

I think that there are probably many kinds of vampires and many beliefs..its great to see so many sharing.

I found vr through another site saw the link and joined, never thought I would find it so addictive and informative, I have been here for a year and still learning more things everyday..

I came to this site because I wanted to find others like myself. My Husband showed me this site and I like it right away.

i was drawn in by that fact that this site as opposed to others ive seen, focuses on COMMUNITY and vampirism discussion...VF and alot of the "just information" sites dont offer that.

I dont particularly like the "human vamps" cause they take themselves way too seriously, as for RPGs as long as they arent hurting anyone, then let them play their games..

I have a what i think is a unique take on vampirism that is usually not liked by either of those 2 groups...

I was drawn to this site mainly because it hasn't been taken over by emo kids. I can actually meet openminded, different people and converse with them about things that society sees as eccentric.
I believe in many things, as do many people on this website. I think the reason I've stuck around is because it's hardly ever predictable or boring.

vampire rave is a society of interesting people that have different tastes in how to live life and it is interesting to talk to some of these poeple and get a change to truly get to know some of these people and see what it is like to be looking their eyes when they see the world. that is the reason why im on the rave.

I have always absolutely loved vampires. At a young age I was enthralled with the Dracula Legend. I had a small illustrated Dracula comic that became thread bear I read it so much. All of this is as real or as legendary as one chooses. The reallity of the Vampire, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.

I have a fascination with the darker side of things.

The classic fictional vampire is my cup o tea. Not the whiny Ann Rice ones.

There are no real vampires, but if people want to believe they are, that's up to them.

I've always wanted to be a Vampire ever since I was a little boy.I dreamed of it all the time.I read ,watch ,and reserach anything Vampire.Now that said,The reason I'm on VR is by total accident at first.I was looking for Vampire pics for myspace page and this(VR) popped up.I read and looked at the site and realised that It popped up for a reason,.....To show me that there is a place for me to be myself and to be with others like me.Though I'm still in the tranformation stage I have really had a great time here.I can't say enogh about VR and the increditable people I've met.Thanx to VR....

I already had an interest in vampires when a friend of mine invited me to this site.

This site has allowed me to learn a tremendous amount about vampires and their lore. Being a non-vampire, just an ordinary human, the whole roll-play aspect played a partial role, as I am sure with many of you out there, getting away from everyday life to become, even for a brief moment, a vampire or other dark figure, is like a breath of fresh air and a huge stress relief.

I have always enjoyed a good vampire story, ranging from books to movies and what turned out to be a mere fascination, has become a rather unique learning experience. A any misconceptions I may have had are now dismissed and the myths that surround those who live the lifestyle are now put to rest.

Mind you, there is still so much yet to learn from people who haven't yet submitted their information to this site, so I look forward to continual learning here.

One thing that I have noticed, is that for the most part, the members of VR are more accepting, mature and tolerant of things which mainstream society wouldn't so readily embrace. I am really glad to have met so many wonderful people here and that is one of the many reasons I've decided to remain here on VR. :)

I have believed that there had to be some sort of truth behind the Vampire legends ever since I was about 8. I won't go into why - someone out therre knows and I still await - obediantly!

I wanted to see if I could find a lost soul who found me once - so very long ago.

I joined this site to have a better understanding of what I am and why do I have such cravings.

My sister showed me this site, when i first joined it was just to check it out. I have always had a interest in vampires the more i was on the site the more i learn and like so i stayed around.
