Has anyone here ever had excatly the dream as a close friend, relative on the same night at the same time??
I'm only asking because last night (u.k time) My Dad & I did, we both dreamt of twisters as in plural tearing through our town while we were both standing on our front door watching the place go bye, bye!! It was so vivid i woke up & expected to see a storm outside my window, 5 mins later my Dad came down the stairs and we both traded stories at 4 in the morning.
I personally have never had the same dream with someone i know but i know that it is not uncommen to have them with people you are close too, but i have never...
Actually, yeah, something like that happened a few years ago when I was living with my best friend.
It was a very short dream on both ends.
She dreamed there was a monster, or otherwise evil creature, coming up the stairs to get her and her husband.
I dreamed I was coming up the stairs to kill her and her husband.
We dreamed these dreams on the same night.
Heh.
Yes shared dreams are more common than ppl would think.
I have had shared dreams with my 2 of my cousins, one sister, my wife, and her best friend.
All at different times.
Lord Dacka
If I have, I have not met the other person who shard the dream with me...333
thats something that can happen, it is not a comon thing but it does happen and when it does, its an energy flow relase about ether an event or a message that needs to be analyze.
What needs to be analyzed about the dream my friend and I shared? Should I call an exorcist? XD
I could say it was a subconcious, coincidental release of tensions, but come on; she and I shared entire bottles of vodka in one night, every other night, the entire time I lived there. She still bugs me about moving back in with her. There were no tensions. Also, she didn't dream it was me coming up the stairs, just an evil something.
Weeeeird. I'm such a nice person.
Yes several times.....but nothing important just girlie stuff.
A message.....Mmmm, that's a good theory, i like....but twisters hitting ur home town, feels like a warning...
Maybe not exactly of twisters though...you should get it analyzed.
hm no i dont think i have shared dreams with anyone. Im the only one in my family who remembers my dreams. but yikes! its good that ur close like that with someone. :)
I normally don't remember my dreams, but that one stuck in my head, still can't get it out!
Dreamscaping is a natural phenomenon, when two people are quite close, related or not...Friendship and feelings wise, they tend to share the same experiances. It is roughly a psychic expression of things thought about, or translated into trips, traveling...Or in your case...Natural disasters. The wife and I do it on occasion.
I haven't had the same dream as a family but i have with my best friend Mathilde. on the same night we both dreamt about about really missing someone and we couldnt figure out who in the dream it was. A week later our other best friend Steve moved from Iowa to Montana. That was like seriously wierd. Since then we have shared many dreams. It's pretty cool now!
Once My (then) finacee and I both had a dream about our wedding. Everything was the same, right down to what the dresses looked like (This was before we planned anything) except for in my dream my family caused a disturbance, and in his dream it was his family that did the disturbing. It was so weird the next morning when we were talking about our dreams and were able to finish each others sentences.
Well, one night a cousin and I spent the night at our Grandmothers house and had to sleep in our uncles room while he was out of town. He was expected back that night or the early in the morning. About 3 a.m., I thought I heard him walk in the room and say "Sorry girls" grab some cloths and walk out. The next morning I woke up to see if he was in another room. He wasn't home so I assumed It was a dream. My cousin woke up and asked if our uncle was mad we were in his room when he came home. My other cousin was in the bathroom about the time I thought he came in and said she heard someone moving around the house. My Grandmother even thought he had come home that night. The next morning he walks in, coming from his son's house. That was his first time being there in a week.
4 people thought they say/heard him come into the house, but he didn't. =/
It happened to me.I dreamed about a friend's house(I've never seen it in real life, and he said that I really described it perfectly). In my dream, his grandfather died.He told me that his dream was quite similar, the difference is that he dreamed about his grandmother's death.
I have never experienced this myself.
Now my wife and I have had similar dreams that is about as close as I have come.
I had such an experience with about 7 other people back in late 2000. It was rather interesting we all saw each other in our dream and interacted with one another. I still remember it, the sky was reddish /dark orange with clouds of smoke and nothing but hills and dead bodies lingered about the ground.
When we all woke up we wrote down exactly what we saw and drew the images. When we compared, they were all the same every detail / image. Hasn't happen since then.
yah I have had the same dream as someone before...though I don't really remember it any more....it was quite interesting
A very close friend and I have shared dreams at least twice a week.
ya it hapened tome all the time with my good friend i think it is just from spending to much time with each other it puts your mind on the same link
It's happened to me a couple times with my daughter's father. It was while I was still pregnant we were dreaming of the baby.
I have had it many of times, with my brothers and my father....
It's happened to me once. My son and I dreamed of the samething the same night
Can't say it's happened on the same night before, but I know I've had the dreams as one of my friends.
When I was young and living in England, myself and a few others were all beginning to have the same dreams. (not going to mention whatthe dreams were about because it is silly) But when we got together we talked about the strange dreams we had and then we all said,
"hey i had that dream too"
It hasn't happened since then tho.
Well as i said dreams have a meaning and if we look into them we can find the meaning of them.
WoW, never knew this was fairly common, thanks to everybody 4 getting back to me:)
I haven't had shared dreams but have had shared thoughts with a close friend of mine when we were miles apart many times.
I have never had a shared dream with a friend but I have had shared dreams with my mother. That is a wild story! Thank you for sharing!
I'm gald to see that it is more common as I thought it was.
My daughter and I share dreams all the time. We call each other in the morning and already know what the other one dreamed.
My best friend and I did like twice. We were like 17 and we both dreamed that I was driving us to school and I got in a car wreck. So the next day I was driving us to school and I suddenly stopped cause of my dream and we both had a gazed look on our faces and we both freaked out cause it was the same car in our dream.lol
Hmm...idk about dreams but me and my adopted brother have daja'vu alike all the time...does that count?
IDK Bel.
What about shared past life recall, in a dream?
Hmm...I dream about my past life all the time :S thats where I got my name here from :P
I have never had a shared dream. I would think that sharing a dream would be an intimate experience though on a soul level. I would love to connect with someone on that level.
Once, my mother, my sister, and myself all had the same dream on the same night. it was odd, we were visiting my grandmother, but we went to a house in a different part of town. as we approached the house, it started to snow. The same thing happened in their dream, but what neither my sister nor I knew was at that time my gran was having her house renovated and the council had placed her in a temporary house - in the same street as in our dream!
I have often had the same or similar dreams to friends and lovers, but that was the strangest.
wow your father and you must have a very special, strong connection.
Yes, it has happened to me and my closest friend that we've had similar dreams. I think it simply shows that there's a very strong bond between the persons involved...
I agree with Adora. My best friend and I have been best friends since we were 5. And now its being 18 Years. The messed up part is that our mothers knew each other before we were born.lol Its kinda freaky. huh
i , perisonnal, havent had a dream as you have talked above but I think there is a deeper connection that you share with your parent and the bond that the both of you share between each could taken as a way that you both had the same dream at the same time.
I have never had the same dream as someone at the same time that I am aware of but I have had the same dreams as other family members and friends but at different times.
If nothing else I think it is just an indicator of how close you are to that person, to be able to syncronize, one, The time you go into REM sleep, and two the content of your dreams, personally I have had the experience with only two people, both of whom were, and still are very close to my heart.
Yup. Thats why alot of couple's or people who are so inlove with each other tend to at least dream the same thing. Sometimes
Any time, I would also think that close proximity to the person when you fall asleep would make a difference, meaning if you are sleeping in near the same environment, noises and lights and similar things out side of the dream, I have found can affect the dream as well, Like if I fall asleep listening to music, I will dream with a sound track, hah.
ok, my friends and i have been having strange dreams about one of our friends dying, and all of the dreams are about the same person! she's having the dreams herself! is there a significance behind all of this ? we really need your advice and opinion, if you have any questions, please ask. whatever advice or information you have would be very helpful...
thank you
this is scaring the shit out of us, please help
~section8~blessed be~
it would be best if you write down what all happens in both of your dreams and then look up the meaning behind everything in the dream...there are a few on here who know how to explain what your dreams mean.....it might be a sign of something happening or just something you are both worried about...but it would be best if you describe the dream more
i have had them but never at the exact same time as others have had them
i wouldn't call it a dream exactly but the day that my granny died. the exact time she died me and my mother both woke up suddenly. My mom believes she was saying goodbye to us.
i had one the other night it was the same as my sisters dream
me, my sister, and a close friend of the family once had dreams like in a sequence on the same night i dreamnt my daught died in a car wreck seen the wreck and all, my sister's dream she was doing the funeral arrangements, and my close friend was at the funeral for my daughter all in the same night
I have had some simmilar experence with a clsoe friend of mine...and it is spookie...
I have had shared dreams before with my mother and my baby sister. The one I shared with my mom we both dreamed of a visitor coming to her they had a conversation that I could not make out, the next day it happened.
As for me and my baby sister she dreamed of a panther that said she was her protector I had the same dream that night and told her in the morning she was freaked out by the whole thing.
I do on occasion with my husband, seems he has the ability to drag me into his dreams lol.
TW -
I just had to point out something I noticed. Your handle is Twisted Whisper - which sounds a lot like "Twister." Does your dad know your VR handle? Were you talking about VR before bed that night?
The reason I ask is because since you are both living and sleeping in the same house, it is very possible that both of you were affected by an external influence.
Like perhaps you both were watching TV and a commercial came on that reminded you of the wizard of oz, or perhaps there was a bit of a storm right before your shared dreaming experience happened.
Perhaps there was an external stimuli, like the central air, air conditioner, water heater, radio or some other household noise that you both could have interpreted as a tornado.
If this is the first time you have experienced a "shared dreaming phenomenon" I would consider looking into the possibility of shared external stimuli before entering what can be very deep, confusing and tumultuous paranormal waters.
Just my silly 2cents,
-pookahchu
Not exactly.
Two friends of mine on a night, had the same vision of a girl being attacked by demons,at the same time I dreamt of being attacked by demons...
Shared dreams are not uncommon between those who share a close bond
I Have never had the exact same dream as someone close to me, but the ideas were the same. Me adn my girl both dreamt of different types of natural disasters once but nothing came of it. my sister and i always have bad dreams that we cant remember and we wake up at the same hour feeling strange. I always felt like i wasn't sleeping well because she wasn't and vice versa. sometimes when you have a close connection with someone, your subconscious feels them.
thanks alixaryon, it was very cool if a little freaky. Won't forget it in a hurry!! I'm on the look out 4 twisters now:) good thing i love storms

My best friend and I always shared a close bond.... if something happened to one of us it happened to the other before the week ended..... That being said.....
We both had the same dream one night.... called to talk to one another on the phone, and she clicked the television on and went into mad hysteria fits..... Told me to turn it on... low and behold.. it was the very thing we had both dreamed of..... The Oklahoma City bombing.....
Dreams will affect us at different times of the year..... Most don't realize this but we have more of one type of dream at certain times of the year then other times..... Dreams are a very wonderful and fascinating subject to study. :)
ive drempt about someone and they drempt about me the same night,, but dreams weren the same..
Last night Gav and I both dreamed our teeth were loose...but in his dream his teeth actually came out. I think thats as close as I ever got to a shared dream...
Not with a friend but with a close relative and we had it on the same night that was really weird . And we have no idea why either
Dream is a word used to describe the subconcious experience of a sequence of images, sounds, ideas, emotions, or other sensations usually during sleep, especially REM sleep.
The events of dreams are often impossible, or unlikely to occur, in physical reality: they are also outside the control of the dreamer. The exception to this is known as lucid dreaming, in which dreamers realize that they are dreaming, and are sometimes capable of changing their dream environment and controlling various aspects of the dream. The dream environment is often much more realistic in a lucid dream, and the senses heightened.
shared dreams are possible I have not had one but I am a dream walker and have witnessed the same dream at the same time by two different people
Yes I have . My sister and I have had this happen to us a few times and when ever it happens in 3's it normally comes true . It's very strange and we don't know why it happens either .
Hello?
Doesn't anyone else think that there could be a remote possibility that because they live in the same house that the shared dream could have been triggered by an external influence... like perhaps something they both saw on TV coupled with planes passing overhead or maybe trains going by?
(see my post above.)
It is just a tiny bit alarming that all I'm seeing in this thread is a variety of "NEAT-O" and "It's possible" replies.
Sure... it's possible, but where are my fellow cynics and analysts?
Just to clarify pookachu does have a valid point but even though i live with my family i'm barely in the same house except for sleep and don't remember seeing twisters on the news anywhere that day (i live in the U.K) and i work 20 miles away from swansea where my parents live so i can't see how we both could have seen something that would have sparked us seeing twisters at the same time on the same night and in excatly the same format.
i was staying at my best friends house, and we both woke up at the same time said the same thing(are you ok) then went back to sleep, in the morning i found out we both had the same dream, (dreamt that she was in a car crash) luckliy to this day that has not come true.
hey, no problem, you had a valid issue and i would have thought the same if i wasn't there:)
i often experience a shared dream. i think my brain leaks.
Cheers karnstien, now i have visions of leaking brains lol
Seriously through, you could be a strong telepath that's why a lot of people are sharing your dreams.
I've shared the dream with my old best friend that somebody had entered the house and was going to move in...We both woke up in the middle of the night and shared stories, we were sleeping in the same bed...
I've not experienced a shared dream to my knowledge, though I have experienced a closeness of someone during one
thats kinda cool...but ive never had it happen. Im gonna go research it!!
nope never have but i might have in the future who knows
I cannot say I have ever experienced the same dream as another. Perhaps I do not have the type of bond that allows for such a thing to happen
I have dreams about people when they are thinking about me...or doing spell work concerning me....
O.K everyone, this is too weird. Me and my dad dreamt of twisters as in multiple hitting our place a few days ago and in the U.K (where i live) 11 twisters hit across the country!!!
I once had a friend who had a dream about another one of my friends, and they had never met and didn't even know about each other
I never thought about shared dreams though now I’m curious.
Actually, yes. My significant other and I share the same dream quite often, even though we are separated by many miles.
I've never shared a dream with someone at the same time, i have on different nights. I've heard of people having the same dreams at the same time
while i am sure that it is a distinct possibility i personally have never experienced this
i know what most of my dreams are....i do not wish to share them right now though :)
there has been 2 or 3 times my mother and I has shared the same dream on the same night.
yes i have once or twice have had the same dream or similar one as my friend kim. It was kinda freaky
