We all hear of people giving there reasons to why they BELIEVE in supernatural phenomena, but I'd like to reverse the question and find out why people DONT believe in such things as Magic, Vampire's & Ghosts and everything along those lines.
Thoughts please =]
many subscrib to the Sherlock Holmes explaination: there is always an explaination to everything, if not then the impossible becomes possible.
Most people are closed minded and enjoy the simple explained life, there is a lot of fear related to these topics and it is easier to beileve it does not truly exsist, life is easier for some that way and others will only beileve that which they are able to experience, or see.
Some people aren't open to new ideas, any knowledge beside the one that they already have is rubbish to them. Others, refuse to believe in anything that isn't proven scientifically or that they can see with their own eyes. Magic only shows itself to the true believer so when faced with a sceptic, it's only natural that it doesn't give any proof of existence.
I think if you were to ask them ( the unbelievers ) there would be a variety of answers ranging from >
Because I'm an adult, to If I can't see/feel it, it cannot exist.
I don't think the answer is 'cannot exist' so much as it may or may not but I haven't the proof to make an informed decision yet. The vast majority of phenomenon are explained with mundane reasons. Those that can't remain unexplained for now.
well alot of people want PROOF as it were that these things are possible or real to them. I myself am the flip side of the coin... meaning prove to me it CANNOT be possible LOL .
Because of the existence of Science, that's why. Also, alot of people don't believe in it because they're afraid of things that they can't understand.
I think mostly what disuades me from believing certain things is the people that claim to be, or of seen :)
I also agree with Cherryadvocate, alot of it has to do with people not understanding or not wanting to understand the unusal,bizzare,different.... as I had said need to be very open minded to searching and learning.../ understanding the things that you do not.
I believe people fear the unknown..and what the cant see is frightening to them...
As a pretty skeptical person, I can tell you that fear has little or nothing to do with it. In fact, I have always been of the mind that claiming fear is the reason people don't have blind faith is a real cop out on how faith works. Those who believe out of desire are wanting not believing. Those who believe out of experiences are content to accept their instincts. Those who look for answers mundane or otherwise, are often more likely to approach genuinely mysterious and even frightening situations against their very own survival instincts because above all else, they want to understand. That means that where belief and instinct say to run or close your eyes or pray, the skeptic will approach even when his own fears tell him or her to do the opposite. I don't fear what I don't understand...I want to know MORE about what I don't understand.
As a realist myself I don't believe in many "supernatural" things simply because I can't feel them or see them. I want solid proof that something exists before I believe it.
It isn't a matter of people being close-minded, it is a matter of people just wanting facts to back up their beliefs. I know many people that are just like me, very open minded yet they still want solid proof of something.
It goes back to the saying "Seeing is believing".
Unless most people can see these things for themselves, why would they want to believe in it? Someone could be lying to make cash off a "supernatural" event. It just comes down to many people just want the proof it is really there. :)
I am a Carney.. and I wont buy anybodys machine to turn straw into gold until I can test the gold.. with third party resources, because what most call enlightenment appears to me to be a deer in head lights effect. Creating a vague unimaginative story out of bits and pieces of old hoax stories may have been fad once oh say the 90s. So pardon me if I fail to believe the latest "unexplained phenonema claim"
Understand also, that I have subtle beliefs, beliefs not assured by profound astonishing testimony or performances, I like entertainment just as much as the next guy, but I wont have someone try to convince me that I need to believe in the claim behind his performance, I mean write sci-fi if you are a writer but plagerism set as non fiction?
If I believe in a soul and after life that is not enough for me to be "enlightened in most peopls book, I would have to have heard from a
disembodied voice(ventiliquism) claimed to be from beyond, or I can go sit in my grandmas old chair and look through her old journals that is subtle something that sensationalist take away from others. Making people expect something like that, maybe they don't want material assurance, I won't give myself to sensational imaginative claims disguised as enlightened revalation, (or even called opinion,) as a reason to join in acceptance of fringe interest .
Some people have just simply not found concrete proof as to the existence of the Supernatural. =]
Also, as SarraS said, Ochham's Razor is a good point too.
Because once I believe you you will make another astonishing claim... fringe groups that off shot fringe groups really scare me..! I mean Critical Thinking People.. I give up I am starting a Dooms Day Cult and I am going to live off of followers.. I will make up a flattering relative storyline, filled with academic allusions and .. have a bunch of human sheep .. Want to join ? You have to believe it , the enlightenmant will grow as you recruit others...
Alot of people are burnt out not on paranormal possibilities and some even want to believe and witness such things but the inflated claims are overwhelming...
People believe what they want to believe. I think with alot of people they dont want to believe in things that scare them. Just like me ;)
Because until I experience something myself..I don't believe....and I will not take anothers word on it...nor will I believe so called photos or video or even audio of the "experience"...all is hearsay and can be made up.
Religious beliefs partakes at times, but not always. In my opinion.
Until I see it/experience it - it simply doesn't exist for me.
Much like God or the "devil" - I cannot have blind faith in either one just for the sake of believing.
a btr question is why DO people believe in supernatural phenomenas. is it bcuz they want to believe that there is sumthing more to life bcuz they are upset or bored with their own?
I believe that they are too afraid of the unknown so they close there mind to it
You can not fear what isn't there...ones belief in the supernatural or non belief is up to them...NOT believing doesn't make them fearful.Actual proof can either make them believe or still be sceptical.Paranormal or supernatural just means beyond normal reality...if you believe that ghost and spirits exist...then more power to you.If you think little grey men from Mars are visiting Earth on space ships...more power to you...but til I see this for myself...they don't exist.
Isn't that what faith is...believing in something that you cannot see?
People will believe only that which they wish to believe.
I think that in some cases of people not believing is caused by fear. If they don't believe it anything then they have nothing to fear.
I only have faith in myself...I don't need to believe in nothingness or made up idols.
People are afraid and dont believe what they dont understand
thats right i mean its good to lay back and enjoy a good book with your imagination in over drive. But, vampires, ghosts and werewolves are a legend that cant be proven
I have to agree with all of your imputs because like ones saids people only choose to believe what they want to believe and people who choose not to believe in supernatural things don't want to belive in non fictional stuff when it comes to the darker side. Like one person said here already people like to read fictional books to fantasize and to relax and enjoy the pleasures of reading but until there is scientific fact then people are only going to believe what that want to believe.
I personally believe its because they either fear the idea of believing in something so 'Far-fetched' and imagining the idea would literally just force their religion (if they have one) or all of their ideas into a huge catastrophic plummet.
Another possibility is because of what Hollywood has made alot of the stories into. Like vampires for a mere example, no one truly thinks they are real because of the horrific Hollywood movies (although, I must say, some of those movies are rather thought out and quite lovely to watch) but over-all alot of those movies are quite in the past of what vampires are, so the "norms" think its too impossible for a vampire to exist. (even though, in slight ways, they do exist, maybe not literally, but in some ways, some humans do carry the stereotypical qualities of a vampire)
Fear and logical thought aren't two sides of the same coin. You DO NOT fear what you don't know...fear is nothing but an emotion.Emotion has nothing to do with what you do or do not believe to be true.Yes it is also true that SOME people fear the unknown...but fear has nothing to do with you believing in the paranormal.
Some people just can't handle the concept of something they can't understand or control. They can't understand that supernatural means SUPER NATURAL as in beyond what is normal to the surface of the mind.
All I can say is that the people I know peole who say they do not believe and they tell me they would if they were to experience it for themselves.
I think some people are just really closed minded and can't handle anything that goes outside the realm of their tiny little brains.
First of all, I don't have a tiny brain and I don't believe in half the supernatural crap that is out there.
Secondly, fear comes when you know about something. The majority don't know so how can they fear it? Most people don't believe because there isn't tangible proof. Some people tend to think very concretely versus abstractly. This causes them to want facts before stories. As a realist, I wish to see concrete evidence that something is there, not some bullspit story that someone made up to make some extra cash.
to Abstract, I wasn't implying you have a tiny brain. most of the people whom I've encounted that blew off supernatural phenomena were small minded which is why i made that statement.
i don't believe in all supernatural phenomena, i do believe that some of it is just smoke trying to be blown where it shouldn't be.
i think that people are actually more worried about what they do not know. people have consistently come up with attempted explanations for things they don't understand so that they won't be as afraid of it.
for some, i've noticed, it's a matter of not wanting to believe
or simply that nothing has happened to change their minds
I believe that if people can not see, feel, or touch something - it can not exist. That is the reason many people give for not believing in God.
I think science has gotten to the point that most things can be explained and people buy into it so much that if science can not explain it then it must not be possible. think that science has not gotten to that point yet. there are many things that may be possible but we just can not comprehend yet.
"dabbler
Alot of people are burnt out not on paranormal possibilities and some even want to believe and witness such things but the inflated claims are overwhelming..."
I believe you said it right there..."the inflated claims are overwhelming"
too many people discount the little strangenesses....while seeking the great magics
My dad says that he doesn't believe in what he hasn't seen with his own eyes. That might be true for other people as well. But when there's something out there that's new and seemingly scary people probably want to deny it's existance. It's just like saying, "If I close my eyes I won't see it and it can't hurt me." A lot of people might want to believe, but things hold them back such as fear, religion, denial ect...
I feel that we mistake disinterest or disbelief for sheer fear. Fear of the unknown. Fear of what we do not understand...
Most people are creatures of habit to begin with. To introduce random supernatural phenomena into their daily 'ballance' and habitual routine, and to truly believe its existence would bring chaos to their 'order.' I think alot of people are in love with the idea of the possibility of supernatural phenomena, but with out ever really seeing it first-hand do not actually believe in it fully. People do tend to have a need for their self-indulging fantasies..lol But to distinguish fact from fiction, most have to 'see to believe.'
I think people need to experience the supernatural and find something they can't easily explain away. Until they experience it they can't believe in it. Some are more open minded and willing to believe and see the supernatural world. Others refuse to believe because they are not able to control it so there fore it can't exist.
I also need solid proof. It's not because I'm not open minded. It's because I won't take proof for word of mouth.
i think its mostly a fear of the unknown.that keeps people from wanting to believe
Not every one believes in the supernatural, mostly because some times seeing is believing .
As we were opened to supernatural phenomena as children.
If we talked about it it was just our imagination. Then those of times who had the ability to see, were afraid they would end up in the psyc ward.
I think it has a lot to do with religion. If there was a such thing as ghosts and paranormal would it be written in this Bible.
Im not religouse so I just dont know. I do not mean to offend anyone.
Many agree with the Scientific concept of: If something cannot be proven therefore it can't exist.
But why everything has to be proven to exist?
For the people that don't know me, I don't exist for them, because they have never met me, would this mean that I don't exist or simply because that they have never met me so they don't know about my existance therefore have proof of me?
Also I believe in the possibility of anything but not everything, I still have my limits on to believe what is possible and probable. Not that I don't have an open mind, but I choose my beliefs.
With this said I have had paranormal expiriences, and it's then that my belief in certain areas increased, but since I really don't have prooves, people can either believe me or don't, I am aware of that. Thing is I have no reason why I should make up stories.
Guess it all comes down to faith and what your beliefs are. Or until they expierence it.
Just stating
Many agree with the Scientific concept of: If something cannot be proven therefore it can't exist.
shows either an astonishing disregard for scientific process or a not so astonishing lack of understanding...
The basic principle is that there can be no absolute proof. Therefor a scientific approach doesn't need an explanation to start with. But it needs data. Unmitigated, uninterpreted, untampered, raw data ...
At some point someone might come up with some sort of explanation. That's what we call a hypothesis. That is tested against the data. f all works out, nothing is proven, if only one datum doesn't fit the the falseness of the hypothesis is proven ...
if with the help of this hypothesis we can make a prediction we've got a theory. Again, we cannot prove, only dis-prove it. That's science.
So the sentence quoted has nothing to do with science, only with cow manure
Qeh I have worded it badly then, because many say: I don't believe in anything unless it is Scientifically proven.
So the phrase is wrongly said then.
And yes I don't have much knowledge about Science, I don't dislike it, I find it interesting but it wasn't my favorite subject in school and I don't trust 100% of it, neither trust 100% blind faith, I just get information from here and there and then build up my own opinions and beleifs.
Maybe it's because they are scared of the unknown. I think most people are wary of what they don't know.
Mainly beacuse there is no actuall evidence to witness in their eyes, and reasoning, as well that many will denie many things with out considering those at the first place, beacuse it is a perfect way to expresse their own arguing nature wich rules their minds.
alot of people dont believe of such things its because they are afraid of the unknown
Okey now here is practice .. what say you believer.. in super natural and ufo.. The Government or Third party company needs a data base to search out the aliens among us, some questionable accredited doctor has determined what we must look for. they are coming to your house to collect.. we are going to be able to find the aliens ... Are you ready to do that?
A bankrupt easte and property manager stuck with unzoneable property gets people out to witness aliens then tells them the aliens bned the land and that they can land share it... are you ready to invest...?
your child in the other room you across the house .. 8-9 yr old .. you hear a crash.. you run into the room the child (sitting and playing)
says it flew off the table.. a vase is broken.. what do you do in reply to this claim?
At a party at a friends house she claims to every one is haunted.. a person is invited that has beef with you , on the way to the powder room an item crashes down near you, in the hall.. you turn to hear nothing but see a perifial motion... just a ghost right?
The cost of believing to show that it is not all faith but finacial claims as well,
The Drakes Fortune Scam, and more recently the "God Wants You To Roll Scam" The Miracle Car Scam.. 27 million dollars 8.7 million unaccounted for... the price of believing and the fact that , most fringe claims argue their interpitation of what it is you are expected to believe... they will tell you everything you want to hear.. flattery instead of assurance...
Or they just accept it as imaginative and creative..make believe made to be mysteriously "possible" why do must claims have bases in fiction?
Believing is not enough, once a person accepts the base belief, they must accept other interpitations, Example,
If you believe there are aliens here on earth, you must then share and agree with the type of alien that is most excepted or you will be condered unenlightened, then since you accept that you must read all these books, or you are not able to share in the "Oh How great are aliens circle." still though if you go so far to believe that first step the fourth step is to accept the conspiracy by others against the aliens.. you can go on a retreat to avoid being caught in the uprising.. but you just got to believe with an open mind and open wallet.. where is your money.. err I mean faith?
Because seeing is believing. If people that don't believe don't actually see it with their own eyes, than it just doesn't exist.
Most folks don't or won't believe in something unless they can see it with their own eyes.
some people have simpler core beliefs that conflict with extreme possibilities, presented by sensational followers. some feel they will never be fully accepted until they go all the way in conversion to the point when they pass out the kool-aid.

bc they're scared. None of it fits into their "world" and so doesnt exist. and bc it doesnt exist, they have to shun and make fun of everyone else who can see it.
Because once you deside to close your eyes your brain becomes smaller and smaller.
Open minded people have more open views on things....... and people who don't want to have experiences won't.
I'd like to add, teachings have to do with it.
One gets taught that something doesn't exist therefore they believe that it doesn't exist.
I was taught that way, yet I still was curious, in the end you decide what to believe.
And sorry but I disagree with anyone that says because of fear.
How can you fear something you don't believe in?
That's contradictory, I think it'd be fearing that there might be really something but deny it to hide the fear, I think that way would make more sense.
i think that some reasons people might not believe in supernatural phenomena are simply fear or denial.things happen all around us,all the time, that simply have no explanation.people know things they shouldn't know from just being in a place,or from just touching something..its fear or denial.
People's beliefs tend to be complex. It is a dis-service to catagorize people into open or closed minded, believers or non-believers. We believe things because we were taught to or because of experiences we have had.
You can't assume someone is closed minded because they don't agree with your view of the supernatural. We all belief a lot of things that we can't see or have never experienced ourselves. It is all about fitting things into your own frame of reference so that you can understand it.
Think about how complex of a belief system is required to believe if ghosts. If a ghost is a spirit of a person that has passed away, one would have to believe in an immortal soul, and that the soul had a place to go but didn't and stayed here. Also that the soul could manifest physical events in some way that it couldn't when it was still in a body.
Would a person that believes in reincarnation be able to believe in ghosts, is that consistant with their beliefs? if you believe in heaven and hell? If you believe that holy water or a crucifix will protect you from a vampire, does that mean that you have to be a christian first? How else would holy water and a cross work.
People don't believe in a specific supernatural phenomena because they have no reason to. It doesn't have to fall into close or open minded, proven or unproven, but that it isn't consistant with their overall belief system.
people believe what comforts them. if something is frightening, they dont believe it. most people choose not to believe in ghosts, the boogieman, or global warming.
As children we're read to or read fairy tales and it's accepted for children to believe in these things, perhaps because it allows them to use creativity and imagination as they grow. As we grow older we're expected to write off these beliefs as imaginary and think more realistically about things that are real and present in our everyday lives. We're forced to grow up, so to speak, and these imaginary tales we heard as children aren't as accepted by the general population.
Good points but yes can people can have more than one belief like believing in souls and in reincarnation it sounds contradictory but you can, you just beleive it in your own way not on a standard belief.
Unforunately majority of people do not believe in things they do not see or have proof of that it is real.
yet, funny how they BELIEVE in thier Religions, gods, etc... based upon pure FAITH and no Proof.... amazing isn't it?? That would be my question. I mean if you have faith in that and be open minded to that thought or ideal then why not other things.. magic, Aliens etc.... people are more closed minded then they wish to admit... so it is sad.
Thats exactly the point deathnite. Beliefs are sometimes complex and intertwined. Its not so simple. Sometimes its not that people don't believe something such as a ghost as much as they believe other things that contract the existance of ghosts. Sometimes the beliefs don't contradict.
It think it is much more interesting to study why people believe what they do instead of whey they don't believe something.
Someone may believe in an immortal soul and that this soul may exist for a time before passing on. But they may also believe in the physical nature of the universe that doesn't allow that soul to manifest physical changes in the physical universe. They may believe that soul exits, but not that it registers on a EMF meter or on an infrared camera, or that it can push a vase off of a table.
SonofIpswich, I don't see it as sad. You are right that some have strong religious beliefs, but, devoutly religious people absolutely believe in the Supernatural. Just not in ghosts and vampires. They believe in a god, possibly in the power of prayer, angels, demonic possesion, excorcisms etc...
Here are a few reasons why people don't believe.
1) Fear of what they don't understand.
2) They don't want to accept that they are not the cause of it.
3) People get comfortable in their routines and don't want to be hassled with changes.
I could go on but I'm limited to space. Hope I was able to answer your question.
Going along with most of the posters in here.
I'm from Missouri. The 'Show Me' state. Show me that it's real, (Dragons, Magic, whatever) and I'll believe it. I have to see it to believe it. It's the way I am.
=)
10241024 Well stated, when people declare them selfs open minded, and more enlightened, for believing something, that insults my.
How does that insult me.. ? How does that make a person feel to be called unenlightened ? Especially when that person is creative and can imagine just as well as they can believe in super natural fads.
Why do people easily embrace anything that promises nothing more then enlightenment, if you "Open Your Mind". and cram it with clutter that has no greater value in the here and now (dollars wasting away on Contact) Open your wallets, I can accept that you believe... *claps.. you are enlightened... I would love to sit around and listen to some testimony ... about how the aliens are coming to improve the world.
Creativity seems to lack in people that claim that others are not as enlightened as they are. So to avoid personally limiting myself to possibilities, I occupy my time creating potentials, If you really want a person to just allow you to believe, then don't degrade them, by calling them ignorant. Or closed minded. See once you Open Up your Mind. you may get unwanted clutter. choking core assurance. Your creativity is likely to dull.. you get easily bored without continuios sensational affirmation, you may pay money for something you would normally never have anything to do with, if not you may be some one who sets someone else up to pay big money to go to a retreat.. see they reason" If so and so is excited and convoinced.. then.. well believe what you want but don't expect me to believe that makes you or any body else better than or below me.
It can all come down to; the way a person was raised, their instilled beliefs, a lack of faith in god, and therfore a lack of belief in any other supernatural thing, teachings learned, and personal experiences.
People who may not believe in such things have many differences, as well as many simularities with other people. It just comes down to the individuals life.
Some can't believe in things that require belief in something they've yet to see. Others only believe in logic. It really has to come down to what has affected a person throughout their life.
See alot of people that accept core undecorated beliefs, they settle at that, when someone who is burnt out on the added extreme reaching attachments.. so if you believe alien life forms could exist and likely do exist in outer distances.. Ok so a percentage of people accept that, as shown in another thread..
Know that would seem to make them "open minded' to a possibilty..
Well one would think..
yet no you now need to find your splinter belief.. do you believe first that they can communicate to us from a distance.. if you tell a believer" I could imagine that that would be possibly" they will go ballistic over the I____ word.. So after you Open your Mind More and .. Get to the next Phase of Enlightenment... Do you believe that they are here..? because that would make you more enlightened if you do .. I mean think how open your mind will be... I mean you will get radiation burns with your enlightened radiance..
Can't stop there though.. you have to craft a "I saw a Craft.. taestimony to be more graphic then the last one you heard.. then you may be asked to accept that some guy has messages beamed down to him from crafts.. are you still seeking enlightment because you are about to go blind... when you see your self above others based on your beliefs .. you may find you are not floating .. you are suspened by prop ropes... really belive what you want.. your leaders need to make a living as well.
A good point is people have a tendency to only believe what science can prove to be true, as per paranormal activity there is no actual proof yet, only theories.
I can accept things beyond science measurements.. as "existing' yet physically, there is a reason the word Metaphysics was made, I like to image what is beyong here as much as the next person and I have assurance, grant it it is not flashy and flamboyant, I never expect to be Emotionally boosted by those assurances, I don't separate myself from others because they do not accept that. I can find a resource of imagination wasted on being so sweet up in fad interest with such expectations . I mean when is to mich belief bad..
When some one ask you along on a 1000 dollar trip to see a UFO.. I mean
take that 1000 and set it to a cruise with friends .. or go to see a possibility with your new fellow believers ? I answered your question please answer mine..
People in the gen. norm do not believe because they are all raised to not believe that its all smoke and mirrors just parlor tricks or crack pots seeing stuff or making up hoaxes
I believed in Santa.. what next .. I believe in fairies.. I caught one .. dop you believe me...? I took a picture but the cap was on.. maybe the fairy made me forget to take the cap off.. silly me .. I guess you will have to take my word on it.. there was another spotting in the same area.. I think it was real popular in the paper.. well now do you believe me..or is it just my imagination going wild.. because I was raised without religion or politics, my mom told use not to exaggerate.. so now my up bringing makes me defaulted .. you where raised much better then me.. so you are more likely to be able to accept and appriciate the aliens being here.. be creative that is healthy but to attach so much to that possibility.. ?
Once you believe .. then someone will claim to be more devoted then you.. why not imagine that it is a possibility.. why must you convert people? Are you that lonely for someone to share astonishing claims based on testimony with...? I ask these questions because if zzi am to belief I will want answers to others who will ask me those same questions and I don't want to appear to be unenlighted.. I want to have an idea of what to base my details as well. Am I to share your belief in somethings and shun other details? Please take a moment for a possible seeker.. answer a few questions about what it is you think I must urgently accept..
Perhaps if they have never seen/experienced it. I agree that how someone is raised plays a role. Each individual will have their own special way of thinking. No individual is representative of an entire population.
People generally will not accept that which cannot be explained or proven.
Even if they witness something, I believe there stands a greater chance that most people will discount it as coincidence or some type of fluke.
I believe some people don't believe because they haven't seen anything to make them believe - they think "I only believe in what I can see" Also, some people fear the unknown and in the process prevent themselves from learning new and interesting things.
Well I think that alot of people are skeptical and want to base things on a scientific explantions and what they each believe is their own logic. But that is just the best, is everyone has their own opinion of what they want to believe and what not to believe.
SonofIpswitch -
Faith and belief are different in their own ways.
the very definition of the word explains it best.
1. of, pertaining to, or being above or beyond what is natural; unexplainable by natural law or phenomena; abnormal.
2. of, pertaining to, characteristic of, or attributed to God or a deity.
just to name a few.
I am a you-have-to-see-it-to believe-it kind of girl. If there is no scientific proof, if I can not see it, touch it, taste it, smell it, or hear it, then it is not real to me.
When I watch the Discovery Channel show, "A Haunting..."
I notice that a lot off the people on it, claim they never believed in ghosts or spirits.... until of course they were attacked by one.... then they are big believers....
Humans used to be believers in the unexplained, until Science removed the Mystery from our lifes....
but we must also remember that at one time....
Mother Nature's wonders were a complete mystery.... and now we have most of it explained.....
but it still mystifies us.
So remember.... just because Science can explain much of the world to us..... there is still a lot that science can not explain.
:)
Can believes answer one question? I mean a straight answer?
I bet you they cannot.. What is the significants of believing? beyond accepting and being able to IMAGINE .. That Life Imaginably or staticically can exist.. (which I accept, without much effort BTW) .. Is that enough to make me "enlightened" for you?
Has it occured to believers that some may have once believed.. ? No I bet they will not answer that either. I mean so what if I was at one time a bigger believer then you? What if I found that once you believe you are nitpicked to believe more splinter ideas.. ? see you don't make a case for people to believe, except to say over and over, you just need to believe, well Why Don't you just believe that Muslims have the greatest God, that Christ is the only way? I mean you want me to believe something that has no consicence for not believing, and besides a claim that someone will be "open minded" and "enlightened". I could care less for what you believe.. Calling people ignorant is not something I Tolerate and i have heard people, attempt to make a case that it s how you are raised, I was encouraged to be imaginative and creative, and to avoid exagerations I have been on snipe hunts. I have seen and performed "poltergeist", "apparitions" and "possessions" you speak of being open minded, well then open your enlightened mind and cram that in there as another possible astonishing possibillity..and consider apolagiesing to people you called ignorant, for not believing..evey thing exactly like you (the Believer)
I take it as also fearing the unknown.
I wouldn't want to believe anything I'm terribly frightened of.
Why do people call others ignorant, scared, unenlightened, I mean have people that believe forgotten that they are only a minority? I am insulted by people calling nonbelievers Afraid ! I mean I am likely to say things about people that believe that has personal association as well, so get your head off the fact that people that don't have impressionable minds, like you obviously declare to be open. you are no braver then a person that doesn'yt believe.. you are no more intelligent then people that don't believe and if you really think that you are, get a life and then waste it like you are this one.. get over people not being astonished by fad beliefs. I can be twice as imaginative as most believes. So if I am afraid of what I don't know it is a fear of people that Have suspicious motives for converting me to take imagined possibilties and make them beliefs. that all the resources we have will be dumped into coffers for research of insignificate matters, you can't even agree with other alien conspiritors so if you don't go on the big UFO KJambery to watch the sky at somebodies camp ground you are so not a beliver anyway, I mean what makes you a believer? You are unenlightened until you believe that I am periodically possessed by the ghost of the alien that died in Roswell.. So you can't prove I am not.. and you are ignorant if you don'yt accept that as not only likely but real.. are you too afraid to believe it?
