I was told when i was younger that once Hell reaches its maximum capacity. The banished souls are forced to return to thier rotten bodies here on earth and crawl from their graves and join us again among the living.
Personally i dont believe they are real but i know some people that do.
There are so many different storys and beliefs relating to zombies. So what are your thoughts about zombies?
I dont think hell will ever reach its limit. As far as zombies, they make a interesting subject for movies, but thats as far as it goes

There is no limit to what people can create in their imagination...
How could heaven or hell really have a limit?
I mean, its an abstract thing, to me anyways. And there are never limits to abstract things, because it is not a thing you can touch, like a wall. Which means that heaven or hell can't have walls, which means that it's just a lot of space.
As for zombies.. If they were to be in another way than that I don't think that they are meant to live among us. We are simply prey to them so living must fight the walking dead in order to survive.
And that must be the reason why some believe in zombies or anything supernatural. It must remain hidden and we cannot know if they exists or not. My belief is that zombies don't exist though.
If they are a virus that spread when they feed on the living the world would be full of zombies.
This might not make much sense but that is just what I think.
i dont think heaven or hell will ever reac capacity lol we procreate so much that they would have to keep up with that and im not a believer in zombies existing except for films
I don't really believe in the supernatural sorts of zombies. More just the state with which someone enters upon a certain lack of sleep!
But if the closest I can come to believing in zombies are spirits or ghosts...
I don't believe in zombies and if people could leave hell I think they would come back to earth no matter what form they would be forced to take so I don't think that is an option.
I do not think heaven or hell would ever go past their limit, and definatly do not think they would return to earth and live among us in corpses. another focus is that they become angels and demons now, many have claimed to see or have a guarden angel which i do believe yet they are chosen not the last in line to get into the gate*sorry no vacancy come again later* lol
well myself I do not see how hell, heaven, or even limbo could ever reach a capacity.. As for Zombies to me the only way there would be a zombie or zombies is if they were a bad experiment gone aray and that the motor reflexes of the body are activated again otherwise just do not believe they actually have been *kicked out or back * to the earth or their graves etc.. just makes no sense to me. just an opinion.
There is no Heaven or Hell,Only Earth.
In the case for Zombies......No such thing,Cremation is the only way.
Zombies have existed for some time. However, I judge by your post that you are referring to the "undead", and not the Voodoo created mentally challenged individuals.
Much like Dragons, nearly every culture has stories of the dead returning to life. It takes many forms, from Vampires, to Wraiths, to rotting corpses. While the idea is rather fanciful, It could very well be based in fact. There have been many things over the years originally thought to be simply myth, that in the end turned out to be true. I generally use the Tasmanian Tiger as my reference for this. but there are others. Angler fish, Japanese Wolves, Buru (still not technically proven, but many biologists concede the fact that the species most likely existed and went extinct). So a virus spread through body fluids that causes the infected maybe not to "die" per say, but to lose a lot of motor function and become terribly aggressive due to affecting the brain that arises in some backwater tribal area where oral tradition has handed down the tale of these things isn't so terribly unbelieveable. It may even trigger a release of a massive amount of Adrenaline due to it's effect on the brain. A person with enough of that chemical flowing through their body could feel no pain, and usually debilitating injuries seem to have absolutly no effect on them. I've seen it happen. (In Iraq, not with zombies). Our complete reliance on conventional (and fallable) science leaves us unable to accept this though. "If that was true, we would have heard of it already." But is that so true? How long did it take for people to hear of H5N1 a.k.a. Avian Flu? Or the new species of Man-o-war discovered near Japan in 2005? How about the red rain in India in 2006?
An open hand travels faster than a closed fist. The same is true for the mind.
Zombies are more commonly known for being 'created' so to speak by means of Voodoo. Apparently some sort of powder is needed to make one.
Zombies can also be considered people who will do anything for someone regardless of the consiquences.
Or ... you could go with the whole Resident Evil T-virus thing.
That wording sounded so familar to me, and then I found this quote:
"When there's no more room in hell, the dead shall walk the earth."
That's a promo line for George Romeros's Dawn of the Dead.
LOL! Yep, it sure is... It is also part of a verse in Revelations.
Verbiage may be a bit off, though.. *goes to look it up*
I think Zombies are created by the powder used from mainly combining the datura plant with other substances.
They are Haitiian in origin, I believe.
The facebook thing with zombies is just too freaky for me, though and thinking about Hell being full is almost too funny...
JMC
yes, when hell spills over, the dead will come to earth. so, we all need to be good little people...LMAO
no, zombies i think are from a virus..like in RE
Yeah it is Psi.
Personally, I don't think zombies will ever come into existence. Unless if you have seen I am Legend and other movies that the infestation of zombies started out as a virus. That is the only way I see zombies coming to our world, our reality. Saying that, it is still far fetched and high unlikely that even that would happen.
Nope I think its when hell freezes over and they all come out running looking for a warm place to be.
I think zombies are something that were used to entertain us in movies and television shows.
Although i have heard that they were thought to exist in Voodoo or Vodou; i have never known whether they were like what they have been pictured to be or something totally different from what they portray them as on television.
I haven't heard that theory on how zombies are made before. The one I'm familiar with is when a person somehow takes a person's soul after they die, they then have control over their dead body and can use it as they wish. Or something like that. Personally I don't believe any of it though. Zombies are just fiction to me.
Ifor one do not believe heaven or hell could ever be overcrowed LOL as for the Zombies goes. There are different definitions as to what or who you would consider a Zombie. I men to me it is a person who is just motor reflexed walking around in a daze with no sense of direction or life it self, that they have been drugged by someone or something that has made them minless and yet still able to be mobile. This a a proven fact in the Hiatian Islands and even some say thay have seen or experienced it right here in our very own New Orleans. La. but as to the dead walkin around I do not believe that. So as for heaven, hell purgatory or wherever one may go I do not seeing it becoming over filled.
just an observation is all.
I have heard of the haitain zombie ritual useing a kind of powder that paralyzes the body to where it simulates death but body stays alive. The person is fully aware but has no control over their body.
Zombies are generally considered to live on instincts alone. If the souls of the dead returned from Hell to the body they'd have a conscious and be able to act on it.
I believe in the Haitian zombies.
A good movie movie for this is the serpent and the rainbow.
I don't think Hell has "limits" to fill, and if spirits were to escape from Hell, why possess decaying corpses, and not living ones?
No offense, but the Serpent and the Rainbow really had nothing to do with zombies. It was about Haitian voodoo and the myths of drugs used to put the living in states of suspended animation which gives the impression of a death. People were drugged and buried alive, those that survived the burial and were able to escape their buried coffins were often found in a non-communicative state (probably trauma) and referred to as zombies.
Agree with HerAshes. furthermore, don't believe in heaven and hell, but do believe in zombies. they're part of every unthinking mob reaction, eager to exploit, rob and rape. Given a manmade or natural catyclysm, I'm ready for their invasion. They'll come in cars with no smog controls, get off buses, walk on soleless shoes for their souless goal. They'll come for us --- those they consider their superiors. I'll be ready, shotgun in hand.
I get your point, Bloodmother, and day by day that uprising pushes nearer...
Wow I loved that movie "Dawn of the Dead" the remake by George Romero.....When the dude is in the mall....Great, wouldn't have missed that for the world....
Ok, so I know you were tring to be a bit serious but Zombies are not going to walk the earth....If they did though, then I guess I had better get that spare room fixed up eh????..... :) I love Zombies!!
What you just said is actually a part of the voodoo religion. The bible even says that when god comes back the dead will rise to pull all the sinners into hell. I don't know if I believe it or not, but I will tell you one thing. After reading that in the bible I didn't sleep soundly for a few days, lol.
According to the programs on the History channel I watched some time ago....
Zombies are part of the Religon of Voodoo....
The High Priestess/Priest finds a victim, and gives them a Potion of various toxic chemicals....
the Victim falls into a "Death-like" state....
their pulse and heart beat seem to stop....
and their body appears to be dead....
the Body is buried.....
eventually.... the potion wears off....
The Victim "resurrects".... crawls out of the grave.... and returns home....
The priestess/priest claims they brought back the dead and people buy into the priestess/priest's "Power"
and excellent Movie, "The Serpent and the Rainbow", starring Bill Pullman.... told an account simlar to most Zombie experiences.....
:)
Well, then would you please quote the book in the bible and the verse for me...
I must be missing something.....
Hell (if there is such a place) supossed to be a place for evil souls to be punished and evenually redeemed therefore, if the place is funtioning correctly, it would never be too full as you would think that some souls would eventually 'ascend' to a higher plane or reincarnate to prove themselves. Not that I'm an expert by the way:)
As for zombies, as mentioned before I have heard of the voodoo ritual were a person is given a mixture of herbs to induce a 'death' like state but as for the movie zombie which is basically a rotting decomposing corpse saying 'brains' (if you're lucky), there is no such thing.
How can there be a limit to something that we dont even know exsists?
Actually the "powder" for Voodoo zombies is only part of the ritual to making a zombie. " (Zombie is, in fact, a word of hatian origin.)
As someone mentioned earlier, the person is given the drug and put into an almost death-like state. The body is then buried, as was also mentioned. The lack of air after some time, combined with the effects of the drug damages the brain of the victim, making him succeptable to suggestion and influence. The body is dug up, and the priest or priestess can then easily control him or her.
LOL well I am glad that our Walmart still sells guns lOL as for the Zombies and hell or heaven being full, do not believe it would happen, now do I believe that the dead shall one day walk the earth anything is possible, yet as Ashes said about the Rainbow and the serpent it was about suspended animation of the body, and they the people whom survived seem to be in a zombie state of mind , hell wouldn't you if you were buried alive and then dug yourself up out of the earth ... enough to make anyone act in a zombie confused state of mind to me.
Voodoo zombies, yes I believe that they exist but the movie style ones I'm just not buying at least not at this point. As far as Hell having a limit, nope don't think so, Hell could be a myriad of things and I think the agony of it is limitless.
a bit of background for the uninformed...
serpent and the rainbow was based on a book written by an anthropologist named Wade Davis, the powder in question has numerous extremely deadly compounds in it, some of which seem to cancel each other out, including but not only tetrodotoxin from pufferfish, datura, which is the active poison from poison arrow frogs, and numerous other compounds.
it causes heavy paralysis and a deep sedative state which is almost indistinguishable from death without a brain scan to verify for a short period of time, and considering the conditions and heat of the country in question, burial of dead bodies is done very quickly to avoid rotting corpses, the body in question then awakens in the ground, and due to both the poisoning, and partial suffocation due to slow removal from the graves, the person is left in a suggestive and somewhat brain damaged state, brainwashed, told they are a zombie, and beaten into doing anything the "bokour"(black magician) wishes
but besides that....the zombies will come....look to my pic....lol
So basically you're saying that some day Hell will bust open and pour out dead people?! O_O;;
Lol, personally, I think there are a lot worse creatures to be scared of than zombies.
I think, being the generation that I am, that all those zombie movies have kinda made the thought of them a bit less... threatening. Lol, not to say that I wouldn't be terrified if this did happen, just that I would not be as scared as I would have been had I not grown up with a love for horror movies! ;D
Also I guess it would depend on the scale of our impending doom. ^_^
it's one thing to claim to be jaded from horror movies...quite another to have to fight off the shambling corpse that used to be your own mother but now only wants to devour you
Touche, Daermon..
I suppose that when it came down to it, whether you have watched horror movies from the age of 5 or not, it would all just seem very unreal!
You wouldn't really realise the impact on the rest of your life - you would just focus on staying alive!
Besides, who said anything about zombies eating humans? All I read was "walk with the living"...
they would want to eat us.. but i would love to kill some zombies. and why wouuld they want to talk to us they would want to eat us
I think that it is theoretically possible for zombies to exist. With so many pathogens in existence now, it could be possible for there to be one that would reanimate dead tissue. I think a virus or infection would be the mostly likely cause of a zombie outbreak.
wouldnt that mean that zombies are capable of reasoning if indeed they have souls?
how can a zombie have a soul. i mean really cause once a body dies the soul leaves within three days. usually less than that but minimum of three days. zombies are generally the long dead so how could they have a soul?
I already have contingency plans not for if but for WHEN the outbreak occurs...
You would be amazed at the things that could cause such an outbreak, biochemical experimentation, disease warfare, even the religious implications...
It is one of my favorite end of the world scenarios. Who wouldn't love to rove down the street unleashing hell on the Zombie scourge?!
I do not believe in zombies. Some people say that Vampyres come from the dead, that's bull. If we came from the dead, that would be considered a zombie :)
That's a cool story though.
Even though this does appear in the book of Revelations (can not remember the verses though), I personally do not see this happening. how can something like Heaven or hell have a limitation to its members?
Hottubmolly, I know plenty of living, non-zombies that are incapable of reason.
Well i have never heard of that theory about hell reaching full overload.... but as for zombies the only ones i know are are the onces tranced by Voodoo., heck you could even go as far to as to say people with addictions in a trance as well.
Just my two cents
there is no limit to hell and zombies will not be walking on earth unless it is a zombie movie..
There has to be some connection to the movies and video games etc, because of the fact that where would he idea come from in the first place. I have heard that some people who practice Voodoo can in essence make zombies, as far as hell and its capacity then in a way i dont believe it but in a way i can, as everything has its limits.
Lol, I have no clue how Hell could reach it's limits.
But, that is a good point - if it can happen with Hell, why not Heaven?!
Yeah why not! everything has its limits its just the waiting game for them to burst.
zombie is a reanimated human corpse. Stories of zombies originated in the Afro-Caribbean spiritual belief system of Vodou, which told of the dead being raised as workers by a powerful sorcerer. Zombies became a popular device in modern horror fiction, largely because of the success of George A. Romero's 1968 film Night of the Living Dead.
There are several possible etymologies of the word zombie. One possible origin is jumbie, the West Indian term for "ghost".[1] Another is nzambi, the Kongo word meaning "spirit of a dead person."[1] According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, the etymology is from the Louisiana Creole or Haitian Creole zonbi, of Bantu origin.[2] A zonbi is a person who is believed to have died and been brought back to life without speech or free will.[3] It is akin to the Kimbundu nzúmbe ghost. These words are approximately from 1871.[
i have personally not heard that story. but of course i am not entirely sure there is even a hell. but anyway, that is a very interesting take on the situation. but i dont think zombies will ever exist. they will remain a fictional character in movies.
I dont know about the hell reaching a maximum capacity, never heard anything about that. And as far as zombies, I really dont know.... but now days I wouldnt put anything out of question.
somethings have limits. as long as we have open minds anything is possible at any moment in time. zombies may very well be a possiblity. i have just never witnessed one.
I believe anything can happen, and if zombies are real and come looking for victims, I will load my truck and get to my secluded property and wait it out.
but i doubt i will have to do it ... who knows though, anything is possible.
but why, some drugs that people take leave them nothing more than zombies, some chemicals could leave people like zombies, like ive said before there must be fact in fiction.
The other night i was watching an old movie "Night Of The Living Dead" i had seen this alot of times before so it was nothing new.
It all of sudden hit me later in the movie that those people in the movie had become what might be deemed zombies i had seen this movie many times and until the other night it did not hit me.
Zombies i guess can be in all walks of life whether real or movie but i still think i would have to be face to face with one to believe they truly exist.
i find it highly unlikely , the thought of them returning as spirits is more likely to happen but still difficult to believe
Im sure your wish could come true, now i dont know for sure but go underground, to the many 'unknown labs' that are floating around then surely you may have your answer. Now this is only my opinion so yeah.
Mmmmm, perhaps the defination of the word zombie needs to change?
At the moment acording to Wilki it a 'fictional re-animated human corpse', kind of like me in the morning:)
Yeah and me haha, i still believe they are real and one day with all this new chemical and biological warfare we'll find out soon enough.
any thing is possible
only if one believes its possible
and there are a lot of people who believe in it
i believe it might/possibly could happen
and when it does
i will be the one who will screw their living dead days up hahahahahahaha
okay as for what you said about hell becoming full i have no clue never heard that story before.
however as for zombies if you want the actual truth about them the TRUE MOVIE the serpent and the rainbow will answer any question you have about zombies are very real the poor tortured slaves they become under someones elses power thru use of drugs and being burried alive and the belief system of the culture it stems from it is very scary to think that it can happen
Ever been anywhere near a riot? The mob action is very much zombie like, especially if they haven't taken their meds.
The flesh eating variety of zombie I don't believe in. And I don't think heaven or hell would ever become full.
I do however believe in the Voodoo type Zombie there are many numerous reports and sightings of these type of Zombies, especially in Haiti.
Zombies could be real i suppose....but heaven and hell reaching their limits....i doubt it....cause if heacen and hell had limits i think "Jesus" would of thought about that. And there are to many sinners in the world already and if hell had limits i think it would of already reached its limit.
I don't think hell can ever reach a limit. It is in a place where there is no time and limitless space.
As for Zombies I believe in the Voodoo kind, but not the brain eating ones you see in the movies.
i pretty much think it could have already happened and those of us here are actualy the returned since this seems like hell, and when we die its just cause another spot needs to be filled
I don't think Hell will ever reach a limit. As for zombies, that's what I call my co workers in the morning. I don't think souls could reanimate there bodies once they are truly dead.
I, however, have a friend who has a zombie survival kit under his bed just in case the undead you-know-what hits the fan.
Modern living zombies are people who have so reduced their will to live or to go beyond their day to day that they achieve a sort of walking undead. Their energy patterns drop and they can begin to pull energy from those around them. Unlike modern living vampires, they don't gain anything from this. It's like pouring water in a sieve. They suck the will from those around them but are totally unaware of it and remain as lifeless as they always are. They have reached a state of living without living.

I sure hope the whole Zombie thing never happens.. And if it does, let me be one of them.. At least then I'll already be dead with no thought of my own to know what I'm doing and to whom.....
Thats an interesting way to think about it. But I still like being able to blow away a few zombies.
clearly what is most important is being ready for when the zombies make a move.i recommend proper training with swords and things that will lobotomize them.i hear that is the only way to off them as they can/will still bite with their heads just rolling around.needs to be chopped at the jaw..
check out this book for further training :
The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks
A agree completely with birra in the third post here. There is no limit to what people can invent in their imagination. I would add that there is no limit to the gullibility of others to accept what is only imagined and never evidenced.
I file zombies along with ghosts, goblins, gremlins, unicorns, Leprechauns, fairies, gods, spirits, angels, devils, heaven, hell, and politicians with integrity -- they're all imagined. I'm continually presented with enough hot air to put the Hindenburg into orbit and too little substance to anchor a Cheerio to the bottom of a spoon.
That's intended to be in good humor, not to be offensive.

Would you like to explain exactly how those types of zombies are different from the flesheaters?
Brains they want brains,, they seek metaphorically to pick the brains of the full life pulsing life.. My Army .. you are Head Of Security, on my Zombie Proof Earth Barge when the Zombie Dawn comes.
anything is possible these days . I guess we willl have to see in the future
Hmmm zombies.. I always thought they wanted to eat brains to get smart.. Ok i need to watch more zombie movies..
In the Amazon through the poison of a certain species of frog the indigenous population are able to submit people to their will, rendering them completely mindless and submissive, that is where the zombie term comes from.
Dargor -
Would you mind showing us an article to back that up?
Dargor,
Re: In the Amazon through the poison of a certain species of frog the indigenous population are able to submit people to their will, rendering them completely mindless and submissive, that is where the zombie term comes from.
I think I recall reading something about that and I've even seen it demonstrated. The only difference is that it wasn't just in the Amazon, it was in all established countries. Oh, and the poison wasn't produced by frogs, it was produced by politicians and self-interest groups. I believe they called it "propaganda". Aside from that, it's exactly the same story. Those afflicted by it become the mindless servants of those who produce and apply the toxic and dangerous "propaganda poison". It has a few generic names as well like "political correctness" and "social acceptance". But it's all the same dangerous, nasty, mind-numbing, slave-making toxin.
;)
The practice in Voodoo or one of the off shoots of voodoo have the "rite" that is mentioned, it is usually used to intimidate and isolate a "client".
i think they come back from hell to prepare us for the end of the world and slowly takes people back with them to make Satans army bigger and bigger as time passes and once he has a big enough army. The gates of hell will open and armaggadon will begin
those are just my thoughts messagers and takers of life thats all they are
I find this somewhat interesting as a topic.
If Zombies are a metaphor for people trapped in unthinking consumerism, and fulfilment of base needs in a manner that is consistent with mob mentality; it seams fitting that hell be reserved for those who are vile beyond mere rampant consumerism, that heavan be reserved for those who have surpased mob rule and attatchment to self, and that those who have never learned the lessons of earth be entrapped in the trappings of it even in the afterlife.
I should think that this is not a physical return to earth... but a mental state unescapable by those who are dead, and yet refuse or are not yet capable of leaving the earth behind.
Dead is dead, ones level of enlightenment determines your relative position to a state of bliss in the afterlife.
that they don't exisit it's just a myth to get children scared they are people in costumes and placed in holly wood movies to make money :] that is my thought on Zombies.
It will never reach it's limit. For that to happen, it would mean Satan is a bad capacity planner. ;)
Well, in mythology (the bible) god created hell. If so, and it did reach capacity, god is the bad planner.
Z0ombies were made as a metaphore to the modern ages , because they just tried to show how in reality , we pretty much behave like zombies in a daily basis!
even though I do not believe in hell or zombies , I think hell is suppose to be like heaven meaning it is infident in size and shape seeing as he is suppose to be a magical creature then he can make it as big or as little as needed and people will not come back to there bodies a zombie is someone who has been put under a spell to think they are dead but really aren't it means-According to the tenets of Vodou, a dead person can be revived by a bokor or Voodoo sorcerer. Zombies remain under the control of the bokor since they have no will of their own. "Zombi" is also another name of the Vodou snake god Damballah Wedo, of Niger-Congo origin; it is akin to the Kongo word nzambi, which means "god". There also exists within the voudon tradition the zombi astral which is a human soul that is captured by a bokor and used to enhance the bokor's power.

Saying Hell doesn't have a capacity limit is like saying an elevator doesn't.
Also, RYBA, I'd have to disagree with you. We aren't all zombies. That's just a bit conceited to say.
