When you translate dreams using the scientific method of dream interpretation you will see how dreams reveal both what is happening inside your mind, and also in the world outside concerning people in your life and how their behavior impacts you.
You will develop a third eye, and learn about the other side of reality, where reality is prepared before it happens, the same way that all organisms are prepared to survive on Earth even before they start life on our planet. Inherited behavioral programs allow living organisms to automatically adopt the best reaction in response to the various stimuli of their environment.
Dreams are images that have a very important meaning. I know that you are used to considering them as if they were "just dreams", meaning that they are simple images without real importance. However, this conception is totally wrong.
The scientific method of dream interpretation proves to the world that the meaning of your dreams is as important as your own existence, because your dreams reflect your internal world and show you how you can solve all the problems of your life.
When you examine a dream you have to look for the main dream symbols, without caring about the meaning that the people, the objects and animals that appear in the dream have in your daily reality. Everything that appears in your dreams has a symbolic meaning, which must be translated.
I know that you are used to vague explanations about your dreams that "could mean this" or "could mean something else", which don't really help you in any way, however the scientific method of dream interpretation is a very dynamic method of accurate translation. You won't guess anything: you'll translate images into words, easily discovering the unconscious' intention.
The unconscious mind that produces your dreams is wise and it is constantly showing you everything that your ignorant human conscience despises or ignores.
When you learn the dream language you'll see that it is not as difficult as it seems to be.
You'll discover that animals represent people and that people represent parts of your own personality.
Your house represents your psyche and your car represents the way you drive your life or are driven in it.
Your clothes represent your external image. Depending on their colors, the way you appear in society has one meaning or another.

What are your views pertaining to the subject of meanings behind the dreamsin base of your personal Experiences, ideas, beliefs, etc.. Do you think dreams are our own;"third eye" like this psychtherapist highlights on her studies? Our own undeveloped mental ability to perceive things beyond our understanding? Do you think dreams are just images of our subsconcious without any perceptive/coherent meaning OR things that we ignore that have ground basis on our everyday psyche as well as moods and future foreshadowing?
I do believe that dreams can be foreshadowing of some event in the future.
I know that I have experienced many instances of DejaVu, because things happen that I have dreamt about, but don't remember the dreams till the events happen.
Ok so im going to start, Well my Grandmother, she grew in a country side, like literally jungle type like tarzan lol, she grew up eating whatever she could find, little birds, animals that she could hunt, bread that people give her, poor to no end, never been in a city only like populated suburb area like until her 15 when she married, before that she was like selling donkey/horses poo to fertilize lands and crops, milking cows, and cooking/cleaning typically, old fashioned manners. The point here is that she can tell when is going to rain, when is going to be sunny ahead of time just by breathing or something, and when people is good and bad, she can read everything, things i can't see in a person, she can say if your boyfriend/boyfriend is good or bad and shit like that sort just by looking at them, even if he has tattoos and piercings which she strongly hates she can tell you if he is good. She dreams and she knows many things happening to us and other members in the family, about feelings and preocupations, she have felt when people die close to us, is weird and anoying, but the thing is, maybe living sort of away from dristractions of the crowded areas such as cities and ignoring things of our persona on pure selfishness is what blocks our abilities like hers to develope.
Looks like my post was skipped lol.
That could happen Revenous. Although, I think there are many people who can tell whether it will rain, or be sunny. I know few people who can tell whether someone is good or bad. I have that ability to a degree, although it needs to be developed more.
I think that some people have developed abilities because they took the time to develope them, or they were just born with them.
i have had the same happen to me. I have a dream and then about a month maybe longer sometimes earlier it comes true. example: i was dating a guy for a long while we broke up but remained friends. After awhile he started to date another girl. I new nothing about her at the time, then i had a dream that told me her name and that he had asked her to marry her. Two weeks later we talked and I asked him if he had asked her to marry him and told him her name. He asked if someone had told me. At the time I said yes I didn't want him to think I was crazy. I also have had alot of de ja ve too like i was there before. Maybe I am crazy after all but its a interesting subject.
The words 'scientific method' and 'dream interpretation' don't really go together. The things put forth by the article reek of New Age concepts (which aren't really new anymore). Dreams are not fully understood, it's true. But the images one sees in dreams are a product of their own psyche, and can't be compared across the board. Every attempt to do so is utterly futile. Dreams mean nothing most of the time.
I found an interesting article (something on google, though I don't remember the link and can't be arsed to look) that suggested that dreams are merely images, and we associate a storyline with them upon awakening. If this really is the case, then anyone who has "prophetic" dreams is entirely mistaken, as the "prophecy" was added to the dream afterward by their own faulty memory.
I am a sand man. I film your dreams after reveiwing your day, I them consult with fairies on how to adapt you a special dream.. One that will entertain you, and flatter your deseperate desire to have the wildest dream interpretation.
One downside of dreams is that many of them turn out to be the opposite of real life.
For example, if one dreams of finding money or winning a lotto, in real life, he/she will lose money in some way.
I have only one dream that I recall quite clearly - I had it over 20 years ago.
My grandmother had recently died; I later dreamed that I was in a white car, dressed in white, holding a baby in my arms. When I got out of the car, still holding the baby, it looked up at me, smiled, and disappeared - turned to pure light and floated up to the clouds.
I woke up crying. I figured that the baby was my grandmother.
I,ve been keeping a dream diary on and off for years , and my dreams always manage to amaze me . I love dreams there very important to me , i take everything i can from them . They seem to let your sub conscious just flow thoughts , and make themselfs up as they go along . Contained within them is all the worries of the conscious mind , they sort it all out , and show you the way thats true for you . They can also show you things before they happen , everyday occurences like who your going to meet , what songs you might hear , little things , that when you see them in everyday life , bring the dream flooding back ( My mum called it breaking the dream ). I had a dream when i was 5 or 6 and it came true 15 years later , i was in a permanent sate of de ja vu for about 5 mins and could pedict everything that was going to happen , everything that people were going to say , I,ve never been so freaked out in my life . I,ve always wondered how that was possible . Dreams are cool .
Dreams are a bit of both mental observations and "angel talk". Your mind needs to rest but of course in this rush rush world its almost impossible to do. The mind works out your problems in your sleep, hence the "good idea" or a new way of looking at something. I also believe spirits/angels will try to help us and speak when we are asleep. Mostly because we are more open to ideas & opinions.
Dreams are reflections of inner selves. They are the blue print of our soul. They are etchings from the fibers of our being. They represent us in a multifaceted spectrum, in such a way that it is truly remarkable. That said to reach them literally would be a mistake. You can take none of them outright literally. They are as layered as our very beings. They are the vibrations & tracks of our subconscious coming through in waves. Whatever we are thinking and imagining, or anything we have thought of or imagines, now or in a past or future life can be represented in the scope of our dreams, and nightmares. Dreams are magnificent. Some ar tragic (can be of someone who'd passed on), they can also be intuitive and teach us about ourselves, even our potential. Dreams can do so much. There are many dreams you have at night, you will not remember. The ones you do, can be complex and hard to understand. Just as we are as people. Dreams are slip streams of our subconscious brought to life in the cyle of sleep. Just close your eyes and let the dreams do the guiding.
First I've heard of a Scientific Method to Dream Analysis Revenous. I'd be suspicious of that author.
As far as dreams go, dreams can be analysed for a number of reasons, ~looks at Dabbler a moment~ not necessarily having anything to do with metaphysical, New Age or Occult reasons...~smiles wryly~
Dreams are best interpreted by the person having them, because if there is a symbolic meaning, thats who the symbols mean something particular to. If I were to put forth my most recent vivid dream, it'd mean absolutely nothing to anyone here, unless they happened to have read Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World" recently, as the dream symbolism was heavily influenced by that book. And even then, it I'm still not sure how I would interpret that dream myself, beyond it's most obvious influence.
Sometimes, they dont mean anything, sometimes they seem to reflect our hopes and fears, and sometimes they do seem like something more. That's been my experience. But if it were me, the only person I'd look to for dream analysis is myself.
Maybe we should start by asking why we dream?
Our brains never really shut down.
The most significant aspect of dreams to me is the brain's total disregard for TIME. Events happen seemingly out of "normal" sequence and I think that's what makes them seem improbable.
Re Ravenous comment on modern society spoiling a more pure association with nature and self, I wonder if any studies have been done on the nature of dreams with primitive tribes?
Have you ever laughed or cried in your sleep as a result of a dream?
Interesting subject. According to some Native American tribes dreams do represent something, and usually interpreted accordingly, but as someone said before (I can't remember who) our dreams only mean something to the person having that dream and nothing to anyone else.
For example, I know for a fact in a specific tribe (Which shall remain unnamed) dreaming about one's hair is bad because one's hair is one's life source. So if you're dreaming about your hair....prepare for something bad. :) Comforting.
Re:”Maybe we should start by asking why we dream?”
There is no concrete definition for this, just for the fact that we have little knowledge of that area in science, some studies point like the scientist I presented, others point to what ~L6M66~ & ~DN~ presented about being just images collected in our subconscious meaning nothing coherent to the conscious scope. For now only personal experience could really tell what every individual think about this subject, not even scientist can explain your dream, just because everything you think every second, everything you feel and everything you perceive, only you know, only the host knows, even if you tell your dream and your autobiography or hand in your diary, it wont tell anything about all you experience every second of your consciousness in order to interpret a dream’s meaning. I think its even harder for us, because we do not perceive everything we think or store it in our long term memory, some things we dispose comes in our dreams as warnings. The question here would be; why traumatic or things that scared us remains active in our dreams, conscious/subconscious? that could be a window to discover new things about dreams and their meanings.
RE:"Have you ever laughed or cried in your sleep as a result of a dream?"
Well if by this you mean, do your body cries or laughed while you are dreaming and experiencing a similar stimuli in the body, I could say I have experienced that notion, and even “peed” my bed too, thinking I was actually in my bathroom, but was part of a dream thinking it was real in it. As for this I believe we could have both a meaning in some dreams and pure nonsense in other dreams, maybe when things like this happens is the body that desires the action, may it be, sadness, need to eat, pee, scared or wanting sex.
As for:” I wonder if any studies have been done on the nature of dreams with primitive tribes?”…… Sounds like an interesting source of study, maybe it could actually bring more bases to the field than few interpretations of limited variables done on individuals that reside in populated areas only. I believe the results would be different just for the fact that they experience different things, environment, situations and limitations than us, so regarding to their dreams contrasting with ours, scientist could find few similarity/difference that could highlight or destroy the 20 years studies of the psychotherapist that I presented as subject.
row, row, row your boat gently down the stream,
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a dream.
I try to interpret symbols in my daily, awake time too.
My grandmother use to interpret her dreams with a dream diary that gave the meaning of a dream and a three didgit number to go with it. She hit the lottery(3 numbers) quite often.
Well for me it would mean premonitions and i'm just refering to my situation because other people would have a different meaning to it according to there personal experience and in a scientific terminology it would be another scenario.. but in my situation everytime i dream it remind me of that movie nightmare on elmstreet because they are all pre-warning... rarely its about a good thing and when there is nothing to be warned about ....i dont dream at all.. actually my mom said she use too have this gift... until she ask God to take it away... she didnt want it.....
Every single one of my dreams have came true but two of them and thosare he onse that reaccure the most. One ihave been having ever since I can remember another, I have been having since I was 9. Now remember I'm currently fifteen.
I am actually curious if these dreams have more meanings then my others, I'll tell you them so maybe you coul help me.
The one I've been having ever since I couemember is like this. I was in acave and saw someone with a mask and blak clak on. I followed hi andhe led me through tunnels in a boat. We finally got to a wall and he pulls me through right before I wake up the people in the oom pull off their masks andI recognize it as eolder male I haveknown.
I alwas wake up drenched in sweat.
My other has happened right after my grandma got put in the hspital. We was outside play with some little kids ad she was skinnier than ever before. A sudden all the kids disappear and she falls tnfboard. I yell and nuse comes stepping on my grandms feettand thenurse dsppes a brht paof sun comes down on top of my grandma, thats when I know in my dream shes dead andI wake up crying everytime.
My grandma is currently alive but she's getting skinnier, could this have predicted she des when she gets really skinny?
Dreams can mean anything, the future, our worries, our fears, our desires, etc...dreams are vague no wonder why cultures interpret them differently.
What I am sure of is, that in a dream book I read that when you dream of eating chocolate it means the number of pills you'll get. Indeed I've been a whole week suffering from back pains and downing pills. This dream interpretation has always been true, yet the ones of finding love or improving in business never come true -_-
i had a dream about a talking bat , i said if only i had followed the rules maybe things might be different .
Then it bites me and i wake up and i had this dream when i was 18 and am now 38 and its so real it seams like only yesterday.
Right before i wake up the bat talks and says what rules.
the vast majority of my dreams are set in the near/distant future... and of some sort of apocalyptic type theme - ruins, fire, death, etc... everything all like mad max. this has been the main sort of dream i have had for two dozen years.
when i was young i used to dream in cartoon sometimes.
i did the other week dream i played bass and sung in a band with han solo on guitar and chewbacca on drums. we were on your out of some crazy station wagon.
go figure that one out freud. i mean fraud....
Dreams can predict the future, tell you about yourself, reveal inner thoughts, clear your mind, and show you many things. People will never fully understand dreams because they are very complicated things. There are so many things that dreams do.
What I am wondering is does it have any difference if you dreams are in color or black and white ? I had a dream that a friend of mind and my self were sitting in a restaurant and and i was the only who at e she was working on geo . homework and we hard 6 gun shots , after which we ran out side and someone side that a teen age boy had shot his family then turned the gun on himself . After that dream by about two weeks the friend in the dream and I got into a big and things haven't been the same ...
ok, let me hit you with this one..
when the dream starts, I am in an old mansion that is falling apart. The walls in every room save the parlor are dirty, like some one smeared old car oil on them and the plaster is falling off of them. In the parlor it is cleaner but still fall apart. There is maybe 30 people in the parlor all dressed to the nine's and drinking champagne and boring each other when stupid stories and jokes. I am running around the house trying to find my way out and escape, while there is a mans voice telling me, "Connie, if you just let me kill you, no one else has to die but if you manage to escape me, no one else gets out alive."
For some reason I don't believe him so I keep running and I find an 8 year old girl who has blonde hair in ringlets and blue eyes. If feels like she was supposed to be me at that age. She is in a daze and just wandering around so I pick her up and run thinking maybe I can save her. We hide in the bathroom, where he finds us.
He is average height, not attractive with short brown hair. I don't know him but I feel like this is not the first time he and I have done this. He takes the child from me and ask,
"Did you really think you could save her? Don't be so silly. I am going to take her back to the party where she belongs."
When he leaves the room, I again try to escape but this time I find a door out. Thinking he is too busy taking the girl back to the parlor, I go outside but before I get more than 4 yards away from the house there he is in front of me. I get a dread that tells me it is over he is going to kill me now but I never see him do it. I wake up
I wish I could help you out with that one.
As far as dreaming goes, I believe that it can relate to future, past and current events and to interpret them the best thing to do is to look inside yourself for the answers.
Dreams are little insights of the future; but the things we dream about is necessary face value. Such as eating raw meat in a dream. It doesn't mean that in the future you will be eating meat. I also had a grand mother who would tell me the meaning of dreams. And do the eating of raw meat it was considered a bad omen, that death was near by.
Dreams to me, can be perhaps an interception of others in this world in some form (as i believe we're all connected to one another), perhaps our pasts, others pasts, maybe other plains of existance, dreams of the future and present situations. Dreams of those that have passed away, and so on. The mind is capable of many abilities. A dreams interpretation should be based on how it makes you 'feel' because ultimately, no one can tell you what they mean since it was meant for you to see and think apon.
In life we question everything we do and wonder if what we have done is right or wrong or we are lost and dont know what we want. I think in dreams it shows us what we really want in life and how we really feel deep down about something. Dreams can show you things you want that you never thought about before, once it shows you you cant stop thinking about it.
Dreams are a way for your mind to deal with everyday events. Some have meaning and some are just things you experianced thoughout the day.
I for one do believe that dreams have meanings. May they be on things that are on my minds and things that will happen in the future. Sometimes after I have dreamt something I know it will happen, when I tell my friends some of them look at me funny until it happens. Then they'll ask; How did you know that? I reply that I dreamt about it.
Honorable Revenous,
To me when subtle mind rise after the gross mind is slept, it wish to see the world of its own, when the mind do not get trans of spirit to inbetween planes, it start creating its own world, this is the dream, when the subtle mind get subconscious trans, it falls on inbetween planes and this in between plane is the hyper trans to the past or present or future or any place of world is in real in future or past or present and this too is dream.
I think this definition is correct. in the subtle dreams of real world you meet other entities too.
You might have experienced this in your lucid dreams too...
Dangerous topic for me: my dreams are very vivid and realistic. Actually, my dreams are more real to me than bumping someone in a supermarket. I can see colors, sharp images and even smell the scent of the people in them. I feel it when they touch me. It it is vivid.
I have had dreams that felt like something I had experienced before when the very thing happened in reality (possibly years down the road). Honestly, the dream still felt more real overshadowing the occurance.
I have met people before that have been familiar and instant friends (not common to my wary nature). I just felt as if I knew them inside and out...because I have been dreaming about a similar person for years.
Telling the weather is easy. You just look, feel and breathe in. Snow or ice is a sharp sting in your nose that almost makes you sneeze. Rain is a heavy scent of moisture and clowds beginning to build in the skies. Hot is very dry and your nose feels like a desert. Just pay attention and you can do it too.
If my dreams are my minds way of trying to tell me something, that something must be subconsious. I think it is simply taking care of what I lack in reality. I have never really had a steady friend to talk to about anything, a good lover who loves me, nature when I am city bound, water when there is none, fantasy to make me smile and feel happy when my life sucks at the time, and most importantly...I can travel when I am stuck staying in one idiotic location and cannot fullfil my need to move, see and do new things constantly.
Jenna Karro
P.S. Probably shouldn't mention this here...if so, edit out, but my dreams are real enough that I have woken amidst a full blown orgasm that caught me seriously off guard. My roommate was a bit...O.o...shocked to say the least. Lol.
some of my dreams seem to hint at precognition...some are just mental gibberish. yes, sometimes my subconscious puzzles things out...sometimes its more of a case of some sort of bizarre entertainment.
i dont personally find my subconscious to be wiser than my concious mind.
i do find my dreams entertaining...and most entertaining when i seem to visit those i love or lust for.
just my thoughts
~Wolf~
Did you know pregnant women have off-the-wall dreams????
Like, their baby's father is cheating, their baby when it's born is a litter of kittens, or just STRANGER than STRANGE.
Like recently, I've dreamed of, lots of horrible people through-out my short lifetime, mostly people from cults (blackhooded-dagger societies), and just weird.......things.
I believe dreams to be sub-conscious and conscious thoughts. Our eyes, ears, and sence of touch experience many things that our brains have placed in storage.
My dreams have always came true, as well as my mothers. I suppose its a gift. But as the rest of the gifts, it needs to be taken care of, not to be taken lightly. My mother saw my mothers sisters child die the same day as her mother, as well as laid to rest on the same day. And happened as such. It was very hard.
I don't believe there is a meaning to dreams. No secret way for spirits or ghosts and apparitions to speak to you. No gate or portal to another world.
A dream is just a way for your subconscious to let out everything from the prior day.
My belief is that dreams hold meaning only for the ones who are dreaming them. I don't necessarily believe that they can predict anything but are more of a state of subconscious thinking that sometimes will manifest itself to help us deal with whatever may be going on.
I think that our dreams represent those things that we've done past day or maybe days.. but everything is interpreted on some strange way.. nothing more..
I believe that there is also a state of conciousness associated with dreaming that has nothing to do with dreaming. Dreaming is brain based... a defraging of experience.
Dreamwalking or whatever you want to call it is not really dreaming... it is the souls ability to remove itself from the restrictions of the brain and body to experience things it does not easily do while concious.
Otherwise dream interpretation is much like this as I understand it.
I believe dreams are as this may sound stupid but when i was younger i had a dream were my friend got kidnapped by this couple in my dream.
A few days later, me and a friend were river walking and we saw this exact same couple. In many sense dreams are a gateway, like as you have stated as to whats to come, eveything has been written down somewhere in the great spaces of time, whats ment to happen will happen. So if you are inclined enough, you can see little bits of what is to come in your dreams.
Dreams *I think* are sometimes used as a devise to let you know that something isnt right around you. Like strong connections between you and loved ones..Your consciounce is telln gyou that somethings wrong. Its happened to me afew times..
Dreams I think are when are brain does many things. Like when are worries, fears, hidden desires, and our day to day stuff come to us in our dreams, why becuase it's in our mind wether in the front or back of it.
I also believe in dejavu, I've had that feeling and pondered where it came from and realize I dreamed it.
I have also dreamed of loved ones in my sleep after there passing. They talk to me and I even cry in my dreams and wake up crying and hard to breath from it.
Dreams are definatly a powerful phenomenia that science will never be able to fully explain.
Well, I have always had very vivid dreams and sometimes they are just dreams and sometimes I believe they are my subconscience making me aware of something that i need to take a closer look at.
I have vivid dreams all the time and always in colour. Which I was told is unusual.
However when it comes to dreams I do believe that they can foretell a future event. I also believe that dreams are the mind cataloguing the days events into the subconscious. I also believe that dreams are just sometimes the mind entertaining you while relaxing in your rest period while your body works to repair damage etc.
I also believe that dreams be messages from loved ones who have passed on, guides or guardian angels. Important things you may need to know for the future events ahead.
The other thing I have definitely learned is that the symbols, people, animals, places, are individual to you. Others can guess at what a dream may have meant if you feel there was a message in it, (then your probably right). But it is important that you interpret what you remember according to your beliefs and how you live your life.
A classic example for me is dreaming about my teeth. It symbolises something else in dream dictionaries, but for me it always means I am going to have an arguement or falling out with someone close to me. If the tooth is loose we will sort it out. If I push it back in and it heals I know the relationship will heal, but losing a tooth always meant I was going to lose a friend. And so far, 100% right.
Ya I dream in vivid colors as well,I have kept a dream journal for years, and oh ya symbolism comes into play here big time, I always get the question of I dreamed of death, that is so bad right ? And as I explain to them as I do when I do read the cards, death is not always bad , death is change and change can be good.
Oh I do agree with you there LDR, sometimes dreaming of death doesn't mean that your going to die. It can just be your being told that change is happening, something old is giving way for something new and you will mourn it.
Such as going from a child to a teen, to an adult... all can cause you to mourn the loss of those years but fill you with the excitement of the new.
What do people think about dying in a dream? Do you think if you die in a dream that you will die in real life?
Personally I don't think so, unless the death is so terrifying you have a stroke or heart attack physically.
*winks at xLorex* No, I dont think that if you die in your dreams you will die in real life, I think that alot of times that when when people die in their dreams it is a part of their life at some aspect that has changed or maybe they are ignoring some part of it and seeing them selves die in their dreams make them take a closer look at things.
We all have dreams. Dreams that may never come true
All we seem to be capable of doing is wishing. Wishing that our lives might end, or perhaps a nightmare to end. To start a new life somewere else. We start a quest.
A quest for the true meaning of life. A meaning. A truth that, may set us free.
I had a dream just so recently, and I posted in my journal on story. I don't understand why I had a dream or so called vivid lucid nightmare. But I know there must be a meaning for having it. I think of it as etched in.
https://www.vampirerave.com/journal/journal_section.php?section=stories&journal=sculptarexdexfrumuse
dreams are in some insatnces premonitions yes
but alot of times there just things we wish to happen or
wish not to happen
they could be a just a simple desire visualized
but then again i could be wrong thats just my opinion
Well there is no correct answer to the meaning of dreams each person will see them as they want to see them....so none is right or wrong.
I agree with LDR your dreams should be interpreted by you alone, the symbols, the people, the places are all shown to you as they represent things that mean something to you. Getting a friend to help is good, but only to toss ideas around. It all boils down to what you think the dream means. Hence the good idea of keeping a dream journal. You can go back to it another time and see what you couldn't before.
Sometimes your not meant to understand until a given time, then all the sudden it all comes clear and you can understand.
Yes that is very true, I know for myself that I have had dreams that made no sense to me what so ever and then a few months later I will read thru my journal and it justs jumps out at me . Like for example , for months a few years back I had this sdame dream over and over again about house surrounded by fields and there being a pick up driving down the road along side of f the fields. I knew that something terrible had happened in the house but i never really understood the dream.. years later i come across an overview picture of the house that i lived in where I was beaten nearly half to death and as I turned the picture it is the same one in my dream..
I have been dreaming of money.......and I haven't won the lotto yet.
I don't know about most people since I've had night terrors on and off since I was like 2, but when I have a normal dream that doesn't cause me to sleep walk or talk in my sleep it usually pertains to my waking life. Normally it is a criptic clue to something that will being happening unexpectedly in the future. but it's always so criptic I never figure it out before hand it's alway 'oh now I get it'.
I remember most of my dreams and yet can't for the life of me make them make sense on paper...I simply cannot find the right words no matter how clear the pictures in my head are...I also experience DejaVu on a regular basis
I have only ever had one lucid dream and that was shortly before my grandfather passed away, I think that my dream was the last time I saw him fit and walking around...
I beleieve that some things u really need to focus on to figure out, and that somethings u need to relax and take a step back to figure out. I beleive dreams are the optimum way to view ones problems and find solutions for ur daily life. Just sucks they cant be completely controlled, like angles towards a specific problem
On 8/6/2002, I had a vision that some one was in m kitchen looking around in my fridge and said,
"Connie you don't have much food in here,"
to which I responded "Well with Jerald and Leona dead we don'y need much."
By 5:30 pm 8/7/2009, Leona was in the hospital from am accidental drowning and Jerald was under the waves in a river along with a man named Mr. Bush who tried to help. I barely got Leona out.
Dreams are just a reflection of our thoughts, conscious and non-conscious.
Dreams are a part of each person. They are a review of the person's waking day or any issue that has been on their mind even in the background of day to day thinking.
Dream images are also unique to each person and the meanings of the images are typically unique to each culture and subculter---basically some one so cal can dream of rain and it means happyness ie end of a drought. while some one on the east coast can dream of rain and it means sadness. Dream interpretation isnt just the images of the dream but your emotions while you are dreaming of them.
If you dream of a wedding and the feeling is sad that doesnt mean you shouldnt get married.....usually weddings in dreams have nothing to do with weddings anyway. they usually mean a new partnership or beginning.
The other thing about dreams is that the important images that pop out are mixed with other images you don't recall well just so your brain can wrap around a story line.
Understanding yourself is key to understanding your dreams. Any dream dictionary worth the paper it's printed on has a disclaimer that says that the definitions of it's images are not necessarily the same for everyone. and that's true because every one is different, has different idiologies, different upbringings and philosophies.
What a great subject and just as dreams are open to interpretation, so are the views and thoughts about dreaming, itself.
As a child, I had tremendous nightmares. Some would leave me waking in different parts of the house waking to find myself screaming and scaring the rest of my family. There are only a handful of dreams I can remember vividly that actual objects were moved in the house that happened in my dreams.
I taught myself how to 1) realize I was dreaming 2) wake myself up or alter my course in the dream 3) direct my mind to dream something in particular right before I fell asleep. I did this long before I even knew there was a name for this; lucid dreaming.
I love to dream...even now, in my later years of life, I spend way too much time sleeping because I LOVE to see what my mind comes up with. I stopped trying to analyze the dreams and just started looking for common themes that might be directing me to unresolved issues in my life.
When my son, at a young age, was having bad nightmares (worse than I ever remembered having) I taught him to do the same. It took him years to be able to control them, but he has.
I also believe our dreams are part of a collective consciousness.
I have been having many violent dreams of being murdered in my home, or in general. It's because I have anxiety already from thinking I am gonna die in a certain time period due to what my Doctors have said. Yet everyday I wake up, and am here with a very good life. I don't believe in their time frame for me, and I won't ever. Because I am believing that this is not true, I am finally feeling a calm in my life. It's very scary to have dreams of your own death so vulgar like. It puts a scar in your heart that reminds you time is not forever, and anything can happen. I believe that if you keep a better frame of mind things will work out, its just hard to put it in actions sometimes, but having better dreams, and positive things to do before bed influences my new day every time I wake up.
I have never been able to decide on what I think about dreams and their meanings. I have had lucid dreams and colored dreams for years. I discussed them in a psyche class many years ago and the teacher said for whatever reasons, you are just ahead of most people. A place that most will be at in the future. I just sort of shrugged and said ok. My dreams in most cases are very real and I taste, touch, smell and things like that. At times when I wake up it is really disconcerting. I think they are many things mixed together. I am not so sure that most of us pick up on all the subtle nuances of dreams especially when we have come out of that state to a waking state. They fade rapidly. I don't believe there is any real scientific method of interpretation, just viewpoints. I would rather just leave my dreams as interesting because life is complicated at best and trying to figure out all of that too is another burden to me.
I do think that you are working through your experiences with dreams, so that a scientific method to imprepret dreams may be workable, but would probably just tell you what you already know.
I do believe that dreams have importance in some way.
Just not sure how.
I would like to learn what my dreams mean.
I believe dreams are two fold. On the one hand some of them are only an expression of our subconscious, trying to help up work out issues. Two, some are prophetic. My only problem with those are they are usually at least slightly cryptic, so trying to figure them out while they can still help, that is fun.
I tend to have lots of dreams. Most my dreams honestly come true. And most my dreams are really weird. A lot of times my dreams try to warn my of things to come. I also have dreams of things that passed.
I guess I have dreamed of alternate worlds to. I generally end up telling my friend what their dreams meant. I feel strongly connected to the dream world. I am learning how to dream walk currently.
I believe that dreams are therapeutic and help relieve mental stresses and anxieties, but are also very eye opening and prophetic. I have had many upon many dreams come true, and NO ONE is ever gonna tell me otherwise.
