I know this may sound stupid but I'm finding that there's two different sides of me as a person. The one side is all goodness and light, the other is full of darkness.
Is it possible for the two sides to coexist together?
Does anyone else feel that way too?
If so, how do you manage to do it.

I think its normal to feel that way, But i suppose it would really depend on how easily you swing from one to the other. If the answer is easily, then you should get yourself checked for Bi-polar disorder.

We all seems to have a duality, there is a conflict between our two sides, it helps us keep us stable and not go too far overboard

having two sides is common every one has a darker side to them and the way one person may control there darker side may be different from the way another person does but it can be controlled part of it is will power but with out the dark side you can not have a good and lighter side to you for they go together as one that is what adds the balance

I felt at one time...I had 2 personalities. A dark side and a light side. I kept fighting the feelings of the dark side. I was depressed at this time and just felt a emptiness. I went and got a healing from a Universal healer. As I sit there I seen a darkness that was so dark it even scared me. My head jerked on it's own and I felt as tho a great weight had been lifted. The Universal healer told me I had been fighting the darkness with light, that it finally had to let go.

If I feel myself going into a depressed state....I look at the good in a bad situation. I had to really work at this. But I realize we all go through testing. There is always light at the end of a dark tunnel. We just have to think of what am I learning through this time. What can I do for myself to help me overcome this. A quiet walk, be happy for the small things I have, that I had taken granted for, my eyesight, my hearing. That I learnt to read, and can pick up a good book and go into another journey in the author's words.

I have fought darkness with light....and before I won...I suffered much from the fight.

Everyone has a good side and a bad side.Some people never fight the bad side and become mean and angry,heartless.We fight these "dark" sides everyday,some win and some lose but I think it is worth the fight.

I feel the same at times. I just take each day as it comes. I've tried to take one side and ignore the other but that's no way to live. You got to embrace both so i say. Its not always easy but it can be done. I guess share will helps.

Of course you have two sides. It is a constant battle between Light and Dark within ones self. And it is fine to utilize both sides to be a whole. Your simple realizing their is so much more to this world and universe than what you were taught.

Yes..we all have two sides.
This is how we can decide things better then just knowing on truth about something...or one side.

I even hear that some being have a shadow being of gray.
without darkness..there can be no light.
Without light..there can be no darkness.

Common sense would dictate that you have lived this long before the apparent realization, then you already have the answer to your "can live with it" question.

Since this question was asked politely it should get a polite answer. Most people have sides and for some the darker side only comes out in the case of a situation that means sheer survival. There are many stories about people doing things like cannibalism and other things they normally wouldn't do to survive. Aside from under duress I think the darker side of most is kept to themselves. It is things we think but don't act out. Of course there are those that do but generally this lack of self control gets them locked up. It depends on what extremes you are talking about. Statistically they say most people have thought of killing someone at one time or another when they are angry. Only a small portion who have these dark thoughts act them out. So yes everyone has at least two sides if you are dividing things up just between good and bad. (dark)

Dark doesn't mean evil or bad to me technically. It is just a different way to perceive the world and has nothing to do with acts.

I must agree with everyone here, we do have both parts and further I think we need both parts.

Finding the happy middle ground with your dark/light or bad/good self is the real job. Go too far into either direction and I think that's how people become serial killers or suffer from breakdowns trying so hard to be good all the time. I think dark/bad thoughts about things and people often but control my actions and words to protect others from that part of me. Just as frequently I think of good things and try to act on those with the people I deal with daily.

In the end it comes down to self-control and how you wish to be received in the world you live in.

Well I know for myself and just speaking for myself, I am Gemini So I always feel like there is battle. But there has to be balance there can not be one with out the other, that which you decide to give into is your personal choice, and sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming. But over time you learn to balance it.

I have two sides to me which at times I find difficult to control, the negative side of me very occasionaly will be dominant, which I detest. I just attempt to not allow the negativity to take control, not feeding it, I like that.

Felling that you have two different sides is common. You may feel that one side is more prominent than the other, or that you're constantly at war as to which side you want to influence your actions.

If you are unable to control which side of you influences your actions, then I would go ahead and recommend talking to someone about it. But if you feel torn between your two sides, and you can consciously decide which side you will agree with, then that's completely normal.

You decisions, what you choose to do defines who you are. Therefore, they can coexist nicely if you have the ability to control what influences you. If you cannot control your influences, then things become unbalanced and unstable.

We all have two sides: both selfish and unselfish. The more selfish our actions, the more immature, dishonorable and... if taken to exremes... evil those acts. Whereas the more unselfish, compassionate and altruistic our actions, the more good.

When taken to its least common denominator, it's no more complicated than that.

I believe that most of us have a voice inside our head called self doubt (ego).

Some people concider self doubt to be "original sin," or corrupt knowledge, as accounted in the bible; before corrupt knowledge we could be "naked" without the knowledge of self doubt.

There are three sides to an individual. The side which everyone calls the light side, the dark side, which is hidden, and the side that pops out that you do not even know about.

It is interesting that others just see the light side and the dark side but not the third path that is there to bridge the other two together. Remember hearing that there are 3 sides to the truth, well it is with humans as well.

We all think that we have only 2 sides but the third side is what we need to work on as well.

This third side that pops out and might or might not be recognized by you or others does rear its head.

there are two sides because we are made of good and evil... it is how we make our choices in life that either puts us on the good or bad path

its hard to live with the "two faces" but just rember that the one you should lesin to is the one that gets u in less trouble

I think everyone has a duality to themselves. We have a good and bad side to each if us. It's how we handle ourselves with the two sides that makes the difference. And how you control the use of the good and bad.

I think we have more than two or three sides.

We tend to believe we are in a certain manner, but other people can see us differently, and not everyone might see us the same. We might be aware of of this, or else find out that others see us differently than the way we see ourselves. I also believe everyone has a hidden side too, that some of it can come out sometimes or not at all.

We might have more than one side, yet they' all make one, ourselves, what makes us what we are, and who we are.

I think people create two sides so that their is a balance. Without two we aren't complete however if you go from mood to mood easily that's when you should be checked out for the bi-polar. Sometimes it just adds to the competition and it's like a guide to help you through.

To understand the psychological event in any person, is a complex subject. For me, every person have at least 5 different personality within the brain. For every occasion, we tend to change and to act as if we were somebody different then the person that was there one hour before. Yes, if you have two side, is good for you. Many people said that humans have two sides: one evil and one good. And as time go by, the strong character will decide the outcome of that person life.

I also feel this way, but these sides hardly co-exist in me. Some days I feel happy and other days I feel much the opposite. There is no medical reason for it. It's just who I am.

Darkness and light....one can't exist without the other...

All things are comprised of polar opposites. Humans no more than the forests or animals...but we are the unfortunate ones that are taught that all of darkness is evil. We are the ones with intelligence that can be molded to believe what we are told...

Yes, you do have light and dark...and you should embrace them both, but don't let them control you. Balance...is the key.

In a nice way of course but here's the deal. There are NO two sides of you or anyone else for that matter.
Just one side - YOU!

It's your own mind that's categorizing archetypes, ideas, concepts, emotions, thoughts, etc. into what you yourself have created two piles of. But there is no real two piles! There's no one pile either if you what to get down to it. Like I said, there is only you.

Stop making a pile and running around the other side to look at it. Then make another pile, run around again, to look at it. A lot of running around in circle for no reason other than to give your mind some exercise. Silly humans. There are enough of piles in the world, don't make more.

I believe we all have that dark side and light.. and life is learning to balance the both and live in harmony with yourself and the universe.

Every living thing has a dark and light side. It is part of the universal balance.

But thank you to all who responded. I've learned to embrace the darkness and light that is inside of me equally now that I know what I truely am. And with help from someone very close to me, its only going to get easier.

I believe everyone has two sides , its normal. One seems to be the more dominate , most use as one as their main outward personality. The other can be sparked to the surface by different kinds of stimulization , bad or good.

you're not alone. a lot of people feel that way, i know i do.

and it can be very hard to find a balance. i know sometimes i feel like im going insane because im trying to fight the "dark" side so hard.

it can be easy for some, but if you have opposite and extreme sides, like me, it can be hard.

what i find works best for keeping a balance is to provide some sort of outlet for the darker half. for example, during the day, i express my lighter side, and during the night i express my darker side. i also allow myself to vent me dark urges through writing and music and what not.

This duality is a necessary part of a healthy psyche. Light and dark, good and evil, positive and negative are simply a means of checks and balances. Both sides are needed. One without the other leads to chaos.

Some say thats not fair but thats life its not fair.
If you do good and dont get it inreturn that is more or less the way of the world but its not how it should be and not how it has to be.
If you seek the truth you will not always find it , but it will find you if you lie.
you see the truth is there not becuse of the lie but the lie is there because of the truth.
The truth will set you free , but not always in the ways you think or want it to.
How ever one is greater over the other just not always in the numbers game.
You see their is more evil in the world than good but the greater is not because of the numbers its because of the power behind that numer one can destroy 500 and 2 can make one you say how is this well .
Some times to evil things can make a right .
A life for a life. thats two but both lead to the same thing death .
Two make one in marrage still or at least thats the way i think of it we share the same life now we dont have our own lives independant of one another.
One thing war can kill 500 . so the numbers are not always the truth but the numbers dont lie.

It is a very normal thing especially in this day and time. Also it will depend on the job that you have. They can live in peace, but if you are not balanced then things will be hell. I am sorry that you are going through this. It can be a rough process it wake up to.

Unfortunately balance, like life itself, is seldom fair. Fairness has nothing to do with it. Yes, one side will normally rule over the other slightly. For most it is a back and forth, teeter-totter type balance, but on occasion, one side will completely dominate and that can lead to problems.

Such is the human condition. Absolutes are a rarity, black and white are really grey. The world makes far more sense when you wake up to that reality, Everyone has different sides and most people manage to be human just fine.

The individual may believe what they will about balance and sides regarding the self. The self is simply a pillar to the soul.

But as ~Billy~ has already stated, the pile will just keep duplicating. Why add a category and give it power, when the real truth is the self. Why take power away from the self and set up a category for anything that can restrain the self? Pitting the self against itself is a withdraw from the soul. Why would the individual do this?

There are no two sides, just one.. The self. No matter how unbalanced the individual may seem, it may just be a message from the universe saying.. "Take some time for you and relax."

Don't think so hard on that old tug-o-war with the dark and light, since they are both the self to begin with. It is simple choice really, and nothing more. As long as the individual gives the "two sides" power, the self will continue to be unbalanced on the mental plane.

I often feel the same way as do many other people I know. It's all about finding a way to balance yourself.
And the person who said to get checked for bi-polar disorder kindly needs to stuff it. I have bi-polar disorder and this feeling has nothing to do with the disorder.

It is true that we are just one person and one mind however we all have thoughts that are considered good/bad. It is how we act upon those thoughts that dictate how we view ourselves or how others may view us.

I believe that a person can not be complete without knowledge of both that dwell within them. It is like yin and yang, one can not exist without the other. The goal is to find the balance within yourself and face it day to day.

Psychologically speaking, we have more then two sides, may be 5 or 6 sides and all talk to each other everyday. Just listen carefully to your mind.

I believe we have this duality built in as it is the necessary balance of the universe. It is just up to you whether you stay balanced or live as evil or good.

If you have found both then I say you are perfectlly balanced!
For we all have both in us and capable of both, but acknowledging both is the first step to perfect balance!

We all feel that way at times.. Feeling like we have two side of one person.. Tis normal but at times it can be bi polar.

One must realize, there is really no dark and light, no good and evil. You feel conflicted because you see yourself as being two sided, I felt this way a while while trying to find a religious path that fit with me.

Accept who you are, because there is no good and evil. There is a different way for everyone. What is right or good for me, is not the same for you or the next guy/woman I happen to meet or speak to. We all have our own truths, and realities, beliefs and ideals.

Just bring your two sides together, and accept them both as what you are. And feel free to express them both at the same time, for they are both you.

Well our mind is the processing machine and all acts of the universe fed in and to determine which act is best to do, there is the tool of conscious which lead mind to do or the mind alway erred that will do this this oment and the next moment it will do opposit acts. conscious uses the tool of intellact which lead to do the best act as per available options in the mind. this way both side options do exist in our mind. but choosing the right action makes our nature turned to that type of repetation (that type of nature).

This decides our kinship too. the impression of bothside may rise as per both option is inide us. the impression what we acts goes to the cores of universe and the results sent per wise to our acts thatis law of karma.

so both side inside us and choosing right side and act ead us that type of results and this is called law of karma.
