i dont know if you all believe that dreams have meaning... but if you do and you know how to interpret dreams... please... interpret this for me
i cant go back to sleep right now... i have to have an awake mind... if that makes any sense
the dream starts with a nightmare house that i have dreamed of before... but this is a completely different dream
here it is...
This time my dream started out with me, Mom, Kathy, and Skyler at the golf course. We went walking and found this house… I told them that we couldn’t go in because I had dreamed of the house before and it was haunted… but they went in anyway and to protect my son I went in too…there were people in the house but they didn’t see us… they acted like we weren’t there. I got a bad feeling and rushed the 4 of us out of the house and when I closed the door behind us these awful noises started coming from the door…
We were running from the house but were pulled back into it… I was holding Skyler’s hand very calmly… but then I saw him crawling up the stairs toward the scary little attic room… but it wasn’t really my son because I was holding his hand. Mom started yelling at the other Skyler to come down and I told her to be quiet… that it wasn’t my son up there… then my son was up there with this other skyler looking down at me… I started crying and told the other one to please don’t hurt him and to bring him down safely… the other one looked mad… then sad and levitated my son to my arms… then we were running without shoes away from the house and found my car.
Then I woke up.
im afraid that only you can give meaning to your dream... what do the circumstances you saw represent to you? and the people? how to do you represent waht happens?
its good to write the nightmare down... becuase you can easily fidn the answer later on... sometimes i have premontion dreams... while others might be warning dreasm.. btu as said only you can find the meaning to your dreams....
I didn't read the others responses to alter my impression, this is what I got.
First I think there is some significance to the fact that your mother was there, and you are a mother, and your progeny was in tow too. There is a line of blood you got going there...
You may have worries about your son changing because of the difficulties of adjusting to a world where it is infested with spirits, powerful spirits that linger to communicate and alter innocence. You want your son to saty innocent, or is skyler a girl? anyways, your mother knows that innocence is destined to mature into something else so she enters into the building even though you know life is haunted, and you have your reservations and you think you are right, your mother knows better, that we must face life in order to live. The double skyler shows that Sliding Doors movie concept, that experience divide us, into ptotential lives. Can you control Skyler's upbringing, can you stave off inevitability? Yes, but things that are inevitable will eventually happen.
Your fear is well founded, but life happens. These are just normal fears of a young mother, or a new mother if you are in your 30's...
i talked about it with my mom this morning... my friends daughter just died day before yesterday and we are all very upset... my mother suggested that maybe my friend losing a child was the cause of the dream... i dont know... but i have always had a fear of losing him... call me paranoid or overprotective or whatever....
i dont know....
i think that your fear is not paranoic, children are a gift, to lose such a gift would bring grief.. yes that might explain your dream of course...
Alot of our dreams cross over with our conscience and our unconscienceness, due to the fact that there had been a death , then I would consider that to be the reasoning of your dream, as you stated you also fear of losing him all parents are afraid of out living a child, because yes they are a great gift and it can destroy you emotionaly as well as mentally. I speack from experience of the loss of a child and my brother died young also it tore my parents apart and I still hurt from my loss. So I feel it was/is normal to of had this dream you love your child and the lost of him is very fearful as any parent, Yet again this is just my perception on it . Only you can truly know the meaning and how you see it to be....
Any type of dream involving trying to get away from something means that you are trying to avoid something in your life. It may mean you are avoiding something going on with your son - maybe he is changing as he grows older, involved in things you do not want to face, etc.
When we dream of our mother or any other immediate family member it means discord within the family.
Are there problems/issues involving family right now?
To stop the nightmare, face what is currently going on in your life. Avoidance only prolongs the inevitable. It does not solve anything.
I hope this helps! *smiles*
I suffer from similar dreams, and I am a mother. To me they mean that I am trying to protect my child from smoething unseen, even though I know that I can only hold her hand for so long, she will still move off eventually. As far as my mom being there, to me that means that she is also trying to help protect my child.
I believe that your dream could mean that you are going to come close to losing Skyler at some point in your life but your deep love for him will help you get him back. Now I'm no expert so this may not be accurate, it's just what I believe that your dream could mean. I could be comepletely wrong. I would still however keep a close eye on him and keep him as close to you as posible.
I'd say it means you are scared that you can not protect your loved ones and forces uncontrolable by you are making you fearfull of what may happen to those who you love. Also you may feel that you mother is not listening to you.
hmmm... you should be the one to interpret it, because no one else knows about what's going on in your life, and even who Kathy and Skylar are. From this I believe that Skylar is your son, but I'm not so sure. Here are some resources to help you work it out:

Good luck!
I agree with what others have said, you are the only true person that can interpt your dreams/nightmares, think what is going on in your life, are you running or hiding from something, are you frightened of losing something etc...it will fall into place..
It could mean like skeletons in your closet. The haunted house being your secrets and worst thoughts and phobias your weakness.
And you don't want your family to know, you don't want them to enter the house.
With your son it could be that you're afraid you will do a bad job as a father, and that the hand holding gesture is the fact that even though you're there for him, you fear failing him somehow that he will grow up to resent you to hate you, that you lose your little boy.
most of my dreams are clouded by intoxication, so i dont think id have a fair asssecment
mine i dream that i'm being chased by something or someone normally a person a man
thank you for all the responses!!!
i dont know why my friend kathy was in the dreamm,... filler? lol
i do feel overprotective of him sometimes... i never wanted to be an overprotective mother... i want him to experience life, not hide behind my skirt and hear about it from his friends like i had too...
but my friend losing a child so young really affected me i guess
Skyler is the only child i am going to have... he is 8 years old.
when he was a baby i couldnt sleep when he was asleep because i had to watch him... i was terrified he would die of SIDS, even though there was nothing wrong with him. i had terrible postpartum depression....
no more babies for me... was a terrible birth, nearly killed me :(
it actually depends on the dream under ntense study there are three types of dreams/nightmares one is the precognizant dream, the second is the emotional dream, the third is the dream of being, my nightmares are of me being hunted like an animal down eery turn i go but i don't really know what to say about that sometimes i believe in them and sometimes i don't it just depends on the dream/

While I do agree with those who say that you can give the best interpretation/meaning to your own dreams, I also think it is a good idea to get opinions from others to help guide you in your search for a dream's meaning.
To me, the event in the dream that stuck out the most was when yourself and your mom were calling for Skyler but it wasn't your actual son. I believe this part of the dream is the heart of the nightmare: you could be worried about the safety and well-being for your son. You don't want to lose your grip on him. This may sound silly, but is he a climber? The dream could be a premonition, that he might climb on a jungle gym or a tree when you're not looking and fall. The other Skyler helped your son and put him back into the safety of your arms.
That's my interpretation of the dream/nightmare. I hope this helped a little bit! :-)
you got it ishta
the house is how you see yourself. lets break it down shall we?
since you were aware of other peoples presence, it could mean your threatened by an aspect of your personality.
going in and out of the house symbolises inabilty to keep up a facade to the outer world, possibly.
hesitating to go upstairs would be the fact you have a good idea but wont 'take the necissary steps' to acheive the goal/invention.
thats just what my book says. i dont know where to begin with your family since i dont know what you were feeling and stuff.
Your drams belong to you and olny you will be able to decipher them but it sounds you frear a change that may come to pass
this is very interesting :)
i feel strange about this dream, i guess because i was very emotional in the dream... panicky...
the interpretation about the house being me really struck me, i think it was a pretty good interpretation.
dreams are such strange things
The attic may represent some sort of higher plane that you don't want your son going to. Heaven, maybe? Fear of him dying? Has your son ever been ill near to the point of death? The people ignoring you, that could be just the feeling of invisibilty in the real world. The same house recurring in different dreams and nightmares, is it a house you've been to before? Is there anything particularly haunting about it? I'd like you to message me about this, or IM me on Yahoo messenger at hiatus_00.
this is not a dream about death. Dreams are symbolic, yes it is a death of a certain kind, but symbols must be interpreted.
Death from a life as you once knew it. I think the cloud that is over your child comes from you, the whole post partum depression thing. That is the result of the recent marriage type depression women get, they played the game, they made themselves lovable, they fought in the workplace to rise in class, they got even better than the best man, and then there is a stillness after you settle down in this perfect nest. It is the same with children, the depression that clouds a normally happy situation is that reality is just that, it is reality, time moves slow, and it is another situation where you thought life would begin or life would change, yet, you aren't happy, the things you havce strived for all your life, don't make you happy, this is the schism.
If you have gotten to the end of the rainbow and seen you can't escape yourself or reality or your reality, and thngs like marriage or even being a mother actually had the opposite effect, you are just torn in what future your child has, when you know the thinigs on the horizon aren't really worth moving towards even though we still have to plod along in life. You have done everything right, and yet you do not feel as though you have won, and for him, you want him not to have this schism too, this divide, this double life, this parallel existence.
You don't have to worry that he is going to find out the things in life that you have. In fact, the things that happen to the parent are spared on the offspring, that is the one guarentee in bringing up offspring, none that come from us will ever have to suffer what we went through, but there are other worlds to discover.
So you should not worry about him dying, you should not even worry about him playing the game of life winning and then not being unhappy, you have taken that arrow to the heart and your chest has shielded his as long as yo umake him realise the "stupid" way you feel, (I don't mean to insult, I am just posychoanalyzing the way people who have those kinds of depression, when they feel a depression that is unwarrented) Skyler will see that it is baseless, and when he does attain success, he will not get into that alternative form of existence, he will divide into another being than from the form in which you moulded him, men in general like to become experienced, for to become a man loss of innocence is integral. This is what you worry for him too, but innocence desires wisdom, so there is nothing you can do, he is going to be a seasoned happy man, wise from your years.
I think your dream may have come from the fear of losing your child. A lot of things sit in the back of our minds waiting to scare us as badly as possible though nightmares. But as some of the recent posts suggested, only you can truely find the meaning of your night time visions.
When life is ended another one is created..... Noone died in your dream but there were what appeared to be ghosts..... Maybe the house you live in has unsettled spirits and they want you to explore this creepy room you talked about.... Or maybe the creepy room is your subconscious's way of letting you know you have hidden issues you need to deal with..... I am by far not an expert but I hope this helps a little.....
sounds to me that some day soon during a happy occasion, things will turn bad, seem to get better but only get worse but things will end well
hmm well i always take my dreams serously and if i was you id keep on your toes... but try to stay calm if there is signs of this dream happening
Dreams do have an effect on real life, but you also have to remember that real life also has an effect on dreams. As for meanings, you can always ask someone else what it means, but what truely matters if what you believe it means.
dreams can tell a person what may happen to them in the future. ur dreams can help u make better decisions in ur everyday life if u choose to heed their hidden meanings.
i love nightmares, they are great especialy the ones when i wake up out of breath questioning if they are real or not
dreams are important i would watch you fami8ly close because the only thing i know is usually when the ppl in your dream cant see youis usually somthing bad and if you ever see this house i would advise not going in
This is really the sort of thing you have to figure out for yourself. Even dream books and people who interpret dreams just put forth common meanings to common symbols, and have nothing to do with what they really mean to you. For example, to some people, water means calm, to others mystery, or escape, or any manner of things. Just think about what's been going on in your life and draw the lines.
yeah I don't believe in dream interpretation books either, however an expert on dream interpretation, who gets the whole dream sequence, the events of your life, your impressions of the dream, a calculated guess by an expert is better than none, especially is you are in unknown territory in which you have no experience in whereby you go to the point of asking others for help because you don't understand it

well the way shrinks talk is, what do you feel about that?
they get you talking and you work it out in your mind.
You are all now graduates of adavnced psychotherapy. Repeat after me:
"How do you feel about that?" then scratch some placebo to get the patient to take their mind off of things in sloppy handwriting...
Often the tone of my dreams mimics the tone of my life and what is going on at the time. When I am unsettled and unbalanced in life, my dreams are the same, and issues I have had trouble dealing with in waking life tend to surface. Take an honest look, without passing judgment or making assumptions as to motives, at your life. Are there areas that are troubling to you in waking life? Does your fear of losing your son to SIDS follow you still? The answers are there, if you only look. To paraphrase Sherlock Holmes, once you have ruled out the logical, perhaps it is time to consider the not so logical? I am no expert, and I may be way off base, but I hope this helps somewhat.
It is not sure it means anything. Nightmares are often a projection on reallife worries or fear.
If you do decide to interpret your dream, remember that the key aspects can have double meanings. like Rowiel said, it all depends on which circumstances the dream/nightmare first occured.
I think Vampyrinthesun99 has some very insightful comments here. And ultimately you are the one who will be able to discover the true meaning (if there is one) to your dream.
The meaning will be found either in your past or present and will more than likelly relate to your future, either way do not worry its all ready written...
A very scary dream you had there. Normally I try to "run" away for these kind of things. But in your case, it could be something that has to do with the death that girl. Because she lost her daughter and u are scared to lose your son like that. Things that happened to you in your real life, you need to deal with it. In your dreams you are processing to deal with it. And I think this nightmare you were dealing with the fear of losing a loved one.
I agree with rowiel and Vampyreinthesun99 , you can however determine your own dreams but it also could be a security thing. I have had weird dreams with my daughter in it of protecting her. I am very protective but as they get older they will have to learn to protect themselves even though us being parents will always protect them.
Honestly I do dream interperetations... mainly I find out what it means to you and help you figure it out .... if you cant Noone can
Only you can know what your dreams truely mean and sometimes dreams aren't meant to make sense. Or even nightmares. I guess it's all how your subconsious has
I myself have had some odd and horrific dreams, the sad thing is, everyone see's things diffrently. Did you note there being clouds in your dream? Was the dream somthing like living life itself?. These can mean things as well altho not all the time. I hope you will be able to see what you are ment to see in your dream, as they can somtimes be a sign of things to come.
I wouldn't begin to try to explain your dream but can only recommend that you do not ignore it. Write it down and take it apart see what meaning it has when you think of it in pieces.
You can interpret ur dream. How were you feeling that day? Did something happen to your son that you couldnt express? Just things like that.
It sounds like a fear of something tainting or changing your son...hence the good son vs thing that looked like your son. Bad influences and such. The world represented by a golf course would usually signify wealth or power in most subconcious minds. So perhaps you're subconciously worried about how the world and it's wealth and power might change your son and remove his innocence...turn him into something else. That's a pretty common motherly fear I'd think.
Again without more details I'm kind of talking out my ass though. Describe the house (new, old, creepy, your own)...what was the weather like?...running barefoot over what? But even portents in dreams shouldn't necessarily be taken in their most literal sense or looked at as evil and scary. Even a prophetic dream could have a much more mundane significance than the idea that you'll be fighting a demonic doppleganger in the near future.
In my opinion dreams are merely what you make them, it is your own subconscience made clearly of your own thoughts. Some dreams actually become reality, hence de ja vu. I do agree with Shelly however, i think the only thing it could mean is you are running from something in life.
i feel dreams are related to something that has happened in your life. something that is in ur selfconsious mind that comes out thru a dream.
was the house grey, or dark grey? and older looking?
well, i was asking b/c wehn i was reading i could see it too, the galf corse, the sun setting?
if im wrong then i appologize. this is just what i saw.
but usualy, wehn i read real things like this, then i see it too. its something that i can do...i cant controll it...lol
It's hard for someone else to really interpret your dream to the fullest extent of what you are desiring. I believe that since many things seem to happen to your son in the dream that this is an important thing to note. Also the fact that your family was in this dream, but in particular your son. And the fact that you dreamt about him being taken away from you by this "pretend" or "fake" Skyler seems to be something of importance. Was there a time when maybe your son was taken away from you? At birth? Anytime at all? Or maybe deep in your subconcious you have a fear of your son being taken away from you. The house might represent a person, not specifically a house. The voices and people you heard in the house, I'm not sure what to think of that. And also the fact that you came out of the house and then you woke up tells me that maybe you were coming back to reality that your son is not really gone and everything is ok.
I'm not a dream interpreter by any means, but this is just my personal thoughts.
I think the best thing you can do is to analyze your dream if it really means that much to you. Then you may find the answer you are looking for.
Hope that I could be of help. :)
maybe this dream is a sign of the awakening of your son!?
i agree with some of the people who posted. That nightmares and dreams depend on what is going on in your life. Ive had it happen to me before. my reletavie that i have never seen was dying..so my dad took me to see here and that night i had dreams of people dead in their beds. It was weird at first but then i understood it after awhile.
But somtimes dreams can be about what thing u r thinking about in ur head. Sometimes ts hard to understand dreams and sometimes its not.
As others have pointed out to you, I believe that you are protective over your child. Your scared of what will happen to your child. Especially, since your friend just lost her little one the day before.
I have had similiar dreams myself.
The only time I ever dream is when it's telling me something... usually bad. I think this is telling you that you need to realize things will be okay. Like when I was pregnant I was always having nightmares about my son. The first two weeks of my sons life I was afraid to even hold him unless someone else was there. Sounds silly I know... but then I realized my dream was telling me I need to not worry so much.
Good luck figuring out your meaning.

ok well since you told your family that you have incountered this house before, ((you have faced your fears before)) and now that your son was up there with the other Skyler, ((shows that you have a great fear of losing him))
now that you got out of the house and far away from it (( you will control your emotions, take charge and face your other fears))
but mostly something will happen when you least expect it, and you would be frightend for you and your family
