I would like to ask those who have had encounters with a spirit,during your encounter with the spirit did your energy affect the manifested spirit or did the spirit draw off of your energy?

Without a doubt .. I think everything draws off of energy . Spirits would react to it .

I have not had an experience where I felt or drew energy. My ex-girlfriend has though. She was in a seance and the energy was too great for her to point where she could barely move. She had leave. Either she was really sensitive or weak to presences.

I have always heard that in order to manifest or appear in the form of a full body apparition, the spirit must absorb the energy of a living thing or be around something that is giving off energy so I would guess that the energy they absorb would have some kind of affect on them.

I do believe they draw off of those who have some form of talent..for their energy is different from those with out any skills. I have never experienced it but this is what I have understood from friends who have.

From my experiences its a mixture of working both ways. I've drawn them out with my energy, they've fed off of mine when I was in a weaker state.

I don't think that they draw off of our energy but i do know that they are aware of us being around and will try to contact us

they do take some of our energy and are effected, this is I think maybe how they can knwo who can see them or sens them, and that leads them towards the person. I mean everything exchange energy on all contact, so this would not be different.

I have never really encountered a spirit, but i would assume that ghosts and spirits need energy to survive, i think that is why places are haunted because the ghost and spirits needs to feed of of some type of energy...

I worked nights in a nursing home and a psyc unit. All the spirits i incountered did not seem affected by my presence... Nor was I theirs.

I agree with CryingMist, there is indeed an energy exchange in all encounters, whether you're attuned to it enough to recognise it is a different matter. It is possible to affect spirits with your own energy type, but this is generally in a more passive means, for example, if you are a normally happy, upbeat person you would find that you would not have depressive spirits attracted to you normally. And vice versa. But the same thing happens with corporeal visitors as well, "kindred spirits" so to speak.

I have never felt any significant changes in energy when communicating with Spirit.

So for the most part alot of people say it's in general a homing becon of energy to the spirits and that they are more appt to visit those who have a strong connection with the passed on?

I would agree with that. I believe some people give off a stronger energy signature that attracts entities of different types. Such as if you overly negative, depressive, dark, angry you will draw a negative spirit who will feed off your energy. Like wise if your more positive minded.

I also can't help but think if they can draw energy from you, you can draw energy from them as well.

I don't think they 'always' feed off our energy.
It may be dependent on what sort of entity it is from what I've read.

I once felt a presence.. but I wasn't fearful or feeling drained. However, I have heard of people who felt just that way.
So... perhaps it is different with different situations.

spirits are manifestations of energy, as we are, so yes, our energy will affect them.

I agree with a lot of you when is comes to a reaction to energy I believe they do.... I also think emotion has a lot to do with it also.... but that runs right along with energy.....

There are 3 types of entity...
Spirit, Ghost, and soul.

A spirit most times do not realize they are dead.... they are basically trapped in this realm and it could be for any number of reasons. Even something as simple as they don't know how to go to the next realm... They are usually the ones that need our help.

Our energies do affect them.... our positive or negative energies can affect them by either feeding them and making them stronger, or simply putting off a reaction that they do not care for...... its hard to say with a spirit really....

I learned about this recently in my druid class.

everything in the universe contains or is energy science has proven that. science also tells us that everything effects everything else to some degree. for example if you pluck a flower here on eath even the farthest star is effected, granted in a miniscule way but it is effected. since our souls are pure energy then spirits are as well since that's just a disembodied soul. a spirit only has the energy it had at the time of death if it cannot find a way to replenish it as it uses that energy it will eventually fade away. we in our bodies use our body for fuel literally and spirits if strong enough willed can feed off of that, at the same time if a living person is strong enough and knows how they can feed off the energy of a spirit. feeding is in a way an incorrect term because what its really all about is the transfer of energy from one place or thing to another since energy can neither be created or destroyed. so the short answer is yes our energy effects spirits and theirs effects ours.

Spirits come in all manners of diferent forms. If you ever really think about it there can be a spirit for almost everything, from the elements, to emotions to aspects of the human nature. In shinto their are four spirits associated with the human behaviour among the normal spirits of the world and evil spirits that tain ones soul.

Spirits, not ghosts (There is a difference) can probably do just about anything, gather enevery from you, from another, use your own energy to fuel its strengths and the like.

I believ spirits effect the energy all around them even ours. so yes many posts here have eluded to this.

Personally I would dissagree about what you say about Spirits.

If that were true, mediums in Churches all over the world would not be communicating and passing messages of hope and comfort.

I have felt spirits draw on my energy before when I am either really happy or angry but most of the time I feel nothing.

In my opnion in order to posess and or use spirit energy your emotions are the key factor to the gates of understanding the energies you hold within.

Everything that exists harbors energy; Living cells radiate electrical energies, Thermal energies, etc. Inanimate objects have energy too, whether it's potential or kinetic, its there.

So yes, if a spirit exists, they have energy, and energy effects energy.

Isn't everything essentially energy in one form or another? Everything vibrates (except when it is at zero Kelvin) and thus emits energy and effects the energy around it.
However, no one has ever reached zero degrees K. Just something to think about.

in my experience spirits are drawn to those who emit a strong energy. And if you can focus your power or energy it could be used to harm the spirits.

well i don't know what lurks where i work but i know it draws off my energy all the time. I have had to request to no be put on the 4th floor for very long because if I am up there awhile i become very tired and sometimes dizzy. It is not only me that this has happened too. I know the last time me and my friend were up cleaning a room on 4th we both were feeling very off balance and somewhat drunk. Today me and another girl was up there and it was the same thing.

depends on 'who' the spirit is/was. Family had given me energy picked me up when I felt I could no longer move. Others that are lost/unkown to me ,drain the hell out of me.

They do feed on energy, all kinds of energy.

I've experienced this at the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose (I'm a distant relation of hers). They do not take energy from me, but my energy has affected the spirits there, most definitely

I have not yet to experience it but, I am sure that if I do it will effect my energies as well as theirs.

In order for a manifistation to occur, energy needs to be drawn for some where. I have felt a difference in my own energy, whether it was a forceful surge or in it being weakened.

I have been aware of "presences" around me without actually seeing anything..and I do believe that their presence was stronger due to my energy..some days I can feel things more keenly than other days..could be the moon's phase, but energy seems higher on some days than others, and brings more "presences".

well that depends on what type of spirits

everything is made at the origin of energy, and whenever one gets in contact with another they are both affected by each other energy flow.

if they take your energy does it leave you tired or drained? maybe that is how we know it has been there.

I have had a few experiences. I would have to say the the spirit does draw energy. But at the same time, you can feel the energy too. I can't say that I have ever been drained of my energy. But, I have never had an experience last for very long. Each experience only lasted under a minute. Some as little as seconds. So, maybe that is why I have never felt a strong draining of my energy. I haven't really read up on the situation though to see what other people have experienced. I have always been curious, just never really had the time.

I can honestly say that I have not had a spirit get affected by the energy that I have. But I have heard of people feeling like they were drained of their enery was gone after going into a haunted house or something.

Yes, a spirit can have an effect on your energy. They can take energy away if you don't do regular shielding practices. Just the same as if anything/anyone else would try to draw/take energy from you.

well i dont know for sure because ive never had incountered one yet but when i do i will sure post in the forum about it..

I think that it was my energy that attracted the spirit to me.

The spirits have never affected my energy

I have read that Spirits need to draw energy from some type of source to be seen or move something .... I have seen what I believe to be from that realm and have not experienced any energy difference or effect in myself.

I'm pretty sure that when I was near the spirt that I had encountered, it pretty well pissed them off.

In some ways, yes, your energy and emotions as well can affect them. I have been in a house that had a generally benevolent ghost/spirit - whichever you would rather call it - and since i was in an angry and irate mood, the ghost became irate as well. As soon as my mood changed, so did the ghosts.

I have always heard that your energy is what attracts them. I have been told that your negative energy can attract negative spirits and vice versa.

The more energy that you have the more they are drawn to you, for some one that is weaker they will not come thru as clear as to someone who is more opt to be better channeled with their energy.

in my experience the spirit.. assuming tis not a place recording but an actual spirit will draw a bit of my energy to help it appear. But its not a huge amount of energy so it does not effect me much.

That is why there are spirits.......the energy left behind by them .... from taking it from us

spirits take energy from everything around them to be able to exist. they get it from us, lights, tvs, puters everything.

I think SpecialK touched on an important point, that they feed off of us when we are weak. My experience (I've lived in several houses with spirits.) has been that early on before I developed a more dominant personality, spirits seemed to feed off of me and my fear of them. As I became a stronger person and far less fearful of the unexplained, they were far better behaved, so to speak.

Eveything has energy.

Spirits get their energy from those around them. So your energy and mood effects them.

My energy felt as if it was being drained at times and at other times I felt as if I was being refueled with energy.

I have had experinces with spirits and my energy does very much have an effect on them.

any engery being passed has an effect on us or the spirits so I am led to believe.

When I was a kid I saw a spirit.....it was not a nice one either. It did try to take my energy. So yes I think that some spirits will be not only effected by your own energy but in some cases try to take it from you.

I believe in encounters with spirits that they draw off your energy. I believe they need "living" energy to be manifested.

I have had that happen to me more than twice actually. Most of the time it happens when I'm sleeping... And I guess you could say that the spirit was drawing my energy because I couldn't move or speak or even breathe. x_x

The first time, that I remember, I was sleeping and I was dreaming awake... I was on the floor and I couldn't move my body, I managed to move my arm to try and escape but it didn't work... I was trying to escape from this man, I couldn't see his face at all it was in darkness but I had this weird attraction to him and as soon as I thought, come to me, or come here... he came over to me so fast I didn't even see him move and I felt pressure on my chest. I couldn't breathe or move. I felt like I was choking... And the force was almost enough to wake me up but I felt trapped... I tried to wake myself up but it didn't work... Often when I dream I can wake myself easily if I am consciously dreaming... but it didn't work this time ;_;
I know it was real because I woke in a cold sweat and as the man was staring at me and drawing my energy I instantly thought of my grandpa... Who has been dead for over 10 years I think... and I believe he helped me ;_; because I was able to wake as I thought of him...

I think it depends on the type of manifestation. A 'natural recording' - grey ladies, phantom battles and so on, tesdnt o draw from the energy of the atmosphere and aren't affected by us or indeed anything in the current world.

Spirits of the dead are the sort that are aware of us, and can draw off our energy to aid their manifestation.

Poltergeists also feed off human energy, and are particularly drawn to younger children and adolescents because of the conflicts withing them whilst growing up.

I don't think that spirits draw off of our energy. Just their own.

I think that spirts draw energy from where ever they can get it, weather it be from a person or some electrical source

when i have had my incounters i really didnt poay attention to thins and it hasnt happen to me since ive joined v.r. unfortuanlily so till it happens again i cant say

energy is neverending..i think spirits are drawn to people with the energy that is closest to their own or a memory of their past lifes. maybe that is why some people can see spirits and some cant.

My energy had an effect the day my grandfather past away.. It was different, more than usual. I was low, but high at the same time.. I could feel him, and hear him around as we made preperations for his funeral that whole week. It was like he had it all planned out himself before he truly left this earth..

Spirits can and will draw energy from everything that is in a room. Including you.

During a time when I thought I saw an image of a loved one passed away, I felt out of breathe and almost dizzy, felt like the life was being drained out of me

So I do believe that if you have a run in with a spirit or soul that it is possible for them to feed off of your energy, I don't think though that it is necessarily a bad thing, or that they do it to harm

i dont know if you read my thread about malicious spirits but i actually have made my energy have an effect on a spirit in order to ecase it and and trap it. for removale from my house... so yes the energy we channel through our bodies can have an effect on the ghosts that walk the earth.

I have encountered a ghost many times. It depends on the ghost on if it is affected by you energy or not.

There was an interaction, but the spirit was neither feeding off of my energy, nor repelled by it. It was more like it was reading me by my energy patterns, which are different in each person, or being.

I still don't believe spirits are effected by something that lies on an entirely different astral plain then them.

Spirits are attracted to certain energies, but as for them drawing from your energy, I strongly doubt it. The times I have encountered things that draw energy, they were NOT what I would classify as spirits. I still am not sure exactly what to call them, other than "things."

I have not personal encountered spirts but I have head first hand accounts that say yes your energy does affect them
