Has anyone felt by going to a Cemetery brings Psychic energy and vibes. What is your feeling on this?

This in my mind would have a common sense type of answer since the energies of the deceased are prevailant no matter what cemetary, or graveyard you travel to.

Such is the way with a certain cemetary in Barrington, Illinois by the name of White Cemetary. My wife always talks about this place, since she visited it quite frequently while growing up in Chicago.

Legends always tell of glowing orbs, black cats, a strange apparition of a lady sitting on a rock, even a house that seems to appear and disappear on a whim...The wife says she actually saw the house, wandered through it since it was abandoned, then told some friends about it. They did not believe her since they knew the house caught fire about 100 years prior. Well, of course she went back to the spot where the house stood, loe and behold, no house...

Oh for sure it gives off energy I felt it as a child

Is it all possible that the dead can come out of their craves and roam around the cemetery to give a cemetery a greepy feeling of energy?

Cemeteries always give off a vibe. I love ghost hunting in them. We have to sneak in them when it's late at night.

I have used Psychometry in a grave yard. Where you touch the tombstone and concentrate. Whatever 1st words pop into your head are the right words that is decribing what you feel. I always do a prayer of protection before doing this. I have found this to be interesting and what you receive is quite amazing.

YES , ive felt energy and echo vibes befor . I will not go into a military cemetery unless I have to . Very angry bursts of energy , fells cold balls of static electric discharges that make me fell weak and hard to think .

I believe that the a lot, not all, but a lot of the energy one can feel in a place of burial is more akin to an after image. Sort of like looking something really bright - when you do, and then look away, the image still burns in your vision - an echo if you will, of the subject. I think a lot of the energy you would find in burial places is like this - an echo or an after image of the energy that once was there. You feel the spiritual resonance rather than the spirit itself.

When I worked in the cemetary, i always felt more life rush to my body , even when i sat at night and wrote. Energy or what it is very inticing.

I think most people feel at peace or creepy because that's what they expect to feel.

I don't know why a cemetery should be a place with special 'vibes'.....though perhaps on a telepathic level one could tune into the emotional states of the people who have loved ones there.

I just think that its a projection of ones own feelings. You go there having certain expectations, as i.e eeriness, sadness, frightened etc........There may be energy but I think you heighten it yourself.

I do agree that there is a physic energy. I feel the energy when in the boneyard. I recently lost my Grandma and went to her grave. It was so Sad. I know her presence was there. I also visited my brothers grave and felt - something. I am not sure, could it be that we bring the energy we carry and assume it is from the graveyard. Good ?

How can those that dont use energy project it unto another peson. If they could do that then wouldnt they still be alive. I dont believe that they have enoughe to effect u

I really don't get that strong of a feeling from cemeteries. I know there's probably some there, but I personally don't pick up on it all that often.

It is sensitive information, when people attack it I feel bad about putting it in threads. People have a right to believe. I know people who make a living on it.

Terror if you ever walked in a cemetery you feel some spiritual vibe or physic ability through the people who died. I know I felt something and I thought it was weird at first but listening to all who had posted here makes me think otherwise that I was true to my feelings

Yes I do believe there is that energy in cemeteries, but also all the emotions that are pored out there from the living would have to contribute to it!

Getting scared once by a hobo in a demo tomb, was the only time i was scared in a cemetery. now I walk groups through cemeteries that have clandestined campers in them, I am always amused by these antics. Spooking skeptics, in front of believers is fun.

Once in Yorktown, VA near the battlefield...I noticed a tombstone with a death date 200 years to the day that I was viewing it. That was a bit eerie.

I visit Graveyards for many reasons, Also was taught to ask to enter the grounds by the gate keeper and that makes a difference in my opinion and was taught to do that out of respect for the spirits by professional ghost hunters.

AX that is a hair raiser, i have "shagged" in a cemetery the added thrill was notable in the spooky demeaner of my partner. I did fake a good apparition to help her ploy to act spooked and join me in my sleeping bag, ghost stories have played a part in a few of my play dates, spooked partners make great sex.

Every time I visit a cemetery I always get a feeling of some sorts. I could never explain it until reading this thread, but I think that is some sort of psychic energy.

If I were a wandering spirit, the last place I would be hanging out is around my dead body :) I think I might be around the scene of my death, or my familiar people.

I feel something that I can not describe whenever I go to a cemetary. I think is the awe of realizing the masses of people who once lived all located in one central site.

There is a huge presence of life expericences and memories and accomplishments.

The irony is that all that I am feeling is all gernerated by my understanding of the location and my immagination.

Timing an apparition is tough so I picked a light drinking in the cemetery night, but the darker the better. I used the designated decoy tombstone, scouted in advance for the locations passage. A ruse to show a "cool' stone. is enough to get them in path to spot the glow. then as they study it it drifts toward them. for what I spent... 4.00 it was funny I had a hard time acting spooked.

I think it certainly does give energy. Though I have found in certain spots of certain cemetaries they can take energy as well.

I have felt several different influences around a cemetery. They have always related to individual graves. The strongest negative ones have been from graves where the person died a violent death or was the cause of violent deaths.

Positive effects have been found near graves of persons who died very passively or were related to one of the members in the group visiting the grave. This was found to be very strong on the birthday of the person buried there.

I have felt it. A few around where I live I have found most to give off a vibe or energy of overwhelming sadness. There was only one very ancient cemetery that have off an evil vibe and that was because a rather nasty bushranger was hung in the middle of the cemetery... the tree is still there where he was hung.

Certainly. Some cemeteries more than others, and in certain parts. I think some souls are more restless than others.

lol, no one likes to go to the cemetary with me, if they have any extra sence, they say everyone in the cemetary stops talking and stares as I go by, I find it interesting and it doesn't bother me at all.

I like going to the cemetery. I prefer to go at night, to take ghost pics. I can't wait to check them out in New Orleans. I always feel the energy in cemeteries. I often wonder why, because I would think the deceased would be with their loved ones or traveling around astrally. Also, that many lose their concern for earthly concerns.

I believe the energy is very high in cemeteries, higher than many supposedly "haunted" places.

When the ghost hunting group i belonged to went into cemeteries, we would bring along this guy who said he could "feel" the energy. He would poin tout an area, and we would take the pictures. Most of the time he was right, we would get something in the pictures.

i think that at cemetaries there are concentrations of spirits so yeah i think that there is much energy at gravesights.

i think cemeteries are a waste of time bcuz the person who "died" has already moved on.. death is always more painful to the family and friends of the recently departed

Healer they might have moved on to a better place but there still vibes that people get when they visit a cemetary. I didn't believe it at first myself but after going to one from time to time I felt some kind of spirit or physic energy. It was a weird experience if only you believe I guess.

u get vibes everywhere u go wether u realize it or not, and it comes from the surrouding conciousness.. like when u drive through the getto of an area, u can feel it in the air.

I think people are more open to feeling vibes at a cemetery cause they go there to connect to the ones they have lost. I do believe that if you are human spirtual vibes are around us 24 hours a day. Most people don't even notice until it affects them. For example when you walk down a street and the hairs on the back on your neck stick up because you know someone is watching you. When you choose not to take the turn you always do and you find out later that a bad crash happened there. People don't see it but it happens daily you think it is fate.

I have felt a precense of some sort if walking past a cemetary or being in a cememtary I've also felt something pulling me into a cemetary for somereason just completely taken over which was really weird but I've felt something like that happen to me...

There is also the presence that you experience when you visit a cemetary where there is a loved one buried.

There is a definite power and presence when I have visited the cemetary where my step-mother, Karen, resides.

I don't get anything when I go to a cemetery. The main reason is after 3 days, which is long before the dead are buried, the soul has left the body. There is nothing there but a husk, a shell, if you will. Basically everything in a bone yard is maggot food. Morbid, I know, but true. I get peace from myself, just by reading the histories on the stones. I don't feel any comfort from the dead, because they aren't there to give comfort. I don't get any energy because I am the only living thing in the bone yard that has energy. Most cemeteries don't have ghosts, because the ghost is normally where they died, so you aren't likely to really find one there in a cemetery. Which means the psychic energy you are feeling, hasn't come from the dead or from anyone other than yourself.

I am never frightened while inside a cemetary. I give the residents respect... and at times can feel more energy than other times...and depending on the area inside of the cemetary. I'm sure most have crossed over and at peace, but ther are those that stick close to their bodies.

Entering a cemetary is always strange for me. I'm generally not easily creeped out but cemetaries manage to give me goosebumps, I guess it would be due to all the energy.
You would have the dead peoples energies but also their loved ones who come and weep at their graves. Those emotions are enough to flood the place with energy. Be it negative or positive.

Yes, I do believe that cemetaries have their own psychic energy. I tend to avoid them for that reason, and the way it affects me. To me, the energies of cemetaries are unique and strong.

yes i have those feelings alot espically in cemeteries i cant step foot in one without feeling sick or getting real sweaty but sometimes its not at a place where someone is laid to rest or had died its everywhere i was at a friends house a couple weeks ago and i started to feel that energy stupid me i shoved it off then a couple of minutes later i looked up and there was a face on the wall well later that night he saw it and it was his bestfriend who had died in a car wreck

I think there is an energy but I feel it is residual energy created by mourners. Sadness, depression, even anger is what I usually find I feel when I go by a cementary or walk around one. I find most cementaries peaceful unless they date back to convict days. Then you sometimes find a evil presence due to the fact a lot of people here were hung in cementaries and quickly buried.

I will avoid the childrens graves and places where the unmarked graves are. I get too sensitive around areas like that and end up having flashes. Sometimes on a cold night, you can litterally feel the heat of the earth from their graves around your legs.

I guess it all depends on how open the mind is and how strong personal perception can be..

I agree with you also solitaryangel, children and babies sites gives me the worse feeling of creepyness. Its not to bad for the elderly adults, I can usually handle them a lot better.

The only vibe I got from going to a cemetary was that of saddness and sorrow, obviously mourning the dead.

I don't know about energy in graveyards but I do get vibes like if somebody is watching me when I do go into one. It doesn't feel bad but it does make me look over my shoulder alot like if somebody was there.

I think Cemeteries do give off energy and vibes. You also have to consider that you are more alert and aware of those vibes, possibly because of some danger that could be lurking around the next corner. Although, some are probably more sensitive to this energy than others.

I think cemeteries give off tons of vibes in different ways to different people. My stepmother is deathly(sorry about that) afraid of cemeteries and refuses to go to them. I on the other hand am very calm and could spend hours there. I think it is all part of the vibe you feel when you are in a cemetery. Part of her being afraid might be the energy she feels, she may think it is something bad or she cannot explain it so she is afraid of it.

It was said that if one sat on a barrow-mound (grave) all night long on Winternights, one would have full divinatory, shamanic (galdr and seith), and bardic (skaldr) powers . . . that is, if one retained one's sanity!

Well honestly I feel nothing while in a cemetery. I do however believe that there is always more than meets the eye. And that goes for all aspects of life. Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it isnt there.

I feel something while at a cemetery or driving past one. But, I have never figured it to be energy. That is not to say that it isn't. Just that I have a weird feeling come over me.

i believe anyplace that the dead resides that the energy is greater . some cemeteries i believe give off greater energies then outhers for many reasons could be because of the ways some of the dead have died or the amount of young children or war chacalaties. in return some of the deads energies are stronger than outhers. and some of those can be picked up in the psychic field. in ways they want to comunicate with the liveing wich can lead to pharanormal activities.

Not all cemeteries do. In some the people are at peace and that is all you feel. But in others yes, if there is an unrested spirit then you will most likely feel some thing.

But for most people they just end up freaking them selfs out by over reacting.

hm...what if people are mistaking what they feel because it's perhaps the only place without much energy flowing there? When something or someone truly dies..there's no energy to be felt. Perhaps it's self inflicted emotions mixed in with your own feelings about the dead itself creating that "eerie" feeling.

I find it most depressing actually..... Though now to think about it I do feel an amount of energy afterwards that wasn't there upon arriving....

I have another question relating to my thread here. Is it true that when we visit a love ones grave, do you think spiritually that they can here you when your talking to them telling them how much you missed them and loved them so much?

You know a lot of people get that feeling in cemeteries. I will admit that i do as well. I can be creeped out. You get that feeling like someone is staring at you but when you look there is nothing there. No matter where that happens it is creepy, lol.

Most definitly there is a lot of energy giving off my spirits in cemetaries, we have seversal large ones near us that are very very old, my girl friend has gone and taken some pics at night with her digital and you can see the orbs .

Cemetaries are 'hallowed ground'. There is most certainly a psychic vibe or inexplicable surge of energy to those that enter a cemetary.
