I have sent the webmaster notice of impending legal action if he doesn't remove all copyrighted work from his site. So by the time you read this thread, the site may already be changed.

If it hasn't, please take the time to sign his guestbook and tell him what a criminal he is.

I posted in the guestbook.... then a thing popped up saying the owner is going to preview it before posting... I'm sure we'll never see it ;)

As did I. I informed him that not only did he steal copyrighted material, he is also a dumbfuck who lacks any sort of originality or creativity. Stupid people get on my nerves.

I hate it when people do these things. I see it all the time people steal others ideas and try to pass them off as their own. God gave everyone an imagination it's a shame some people are too lazy to use their own.

I can almost forgive the template/html theft. That's pretty common and I'm use to it. But this guy stole graphics, and even the opening paragraphs.. He just changed a few words to reflect his site.

Plus it's all poorly done.

I just got an email from the site owner. He says that he didn't directly copy the site. He hired a web designer, who then in turn copied VR.

He says he is going to take mirroring elements down.

That's good enough for me.

Okay people... We'll never know for sure whether or not the owner of this site actually hired a web designer who in turn copied VR. Regardless, as the site's owner, he is responsible for the content of his site.

He has humbled himself and is working to make the changes I have requested. He doesn't seem to know anything about HTML, so it may take a few days (apparently he is waiting on his rogue web designer).

I'm going to ask that you stop flooding his site. I'm keeping track of what is happening over there. If changes aren't in place by the end of the week I'll take further action.

I do appreciate your support in this matter.

wow. if i didnt know better i'd swear i was still on vr....well, a much crappier vr....with less inteligence....and creativity....and....at any rate. whoever ripped of vr, sucks....alot.

Here's a Suggestion Cancer.
Offer to do his site for him, for a fee of course.
Him paying you to do a Basic site up, is alot cheaper than him paying a lawyer to fight a losing battle.

actually the idea is not original to vr....
the way cancer presents it is original...
the concept of a paranormal database is a good one....not just a vamp database....
the issue comes with the theft of all his hard work.....that is the copywrite infringement.....I will try to look at that site with open eyes....but I try to be a mediator in most things....I do agree that if there is any money in the site that cancer ought to get a royalties fee for the coding work tho.....

Ok, I am going to close this thread. The guy has removed all aspects that mirrored Vampire Rave. The entire process took about 30 hours.
