What is your Favorite Old-School Vampire movie? When and Where was it made? And Finally who was in it... For now mine is The Lost Boys

Wait a minute!! This may not be a favorite but it definitely deserves mention...."Love at First Bite" was definitely a good romantic some what funny movie....Whew I went waaaaay back with that one!!!

You certainly did..I should also say that Dracula has Risen from the Grave was great as well. Christopher Lee is a bad ass vampire. :)

For one..the characters are all old..and would you realy want them to screw up the original by making some bulls**t sequal? Lets leave it alone, I think.

i have my faverits, (interview, lost boys,ect) but im surprised no one mentiond salems lot. an it may not be a movie but the pilot was, forever knight was an awsome tv show!

My favorite is Lost boys also..but does anyone remeber Vamp?...I was but a wee child when got to see the horror...of course I was pretending I was asleep...so my parents wouldnt freak out...but I was sooo scared!

How about the t.v. pilot movie the nightstalker (darrin mcgavin) ? That was a good movie when it first aired. My current favorites are Underworld and Underworld-Evolution.

You all forgot comedy Vampire movies. Don't forget ONCE BITTEN. My favorite line in that movie.

Any movie where the great, and I mean great, Christopher Lee is the vampire!

I would have to say Lost boys. That was movie that made me go "WOW Vampires ARE cool" the only thing I did not like about it were the teeth settings. They looked like demonic woodchuchs when they showen them

Everyone's definition of "old school" could be different. There are so many new vampire movies that came out within the past 10 years that anything older than that could be considered old school. Besides, 1987 is almost 20 years ago, anyway.

I thought Frank Langella in Dracula (1979) was so sexy...I completely fell in love with vampires watching that movie.

I gotta say I loved Dracula the Best, Lost Boys was a close second but Dracula Mmmmm the Best in my Books hands down!

can i just write a lil notice : queen on=f the damned cannot go in here because 1. it was a horrific film since it was meant to be a sequel to interview and had no info that was correct and 2. its not old-school.

First Vampire movie I remember seeing that inspired me to look into vamps further and still love the movie now the original dracula movie

Bram Stoker's Dracula. Though I loved the really old school Nosferatu as well.

All very good choices. I've never met a vamp movie I didn't like (yes even the corny ones). The corniest of all... The Vampire's Kiss with Nicholas Cage. I just love that movie, it cracks me up.

I have to say the very cheesy yet totaly scary back then Hammer House of Horror movies..

From Dusk Til Dawn is fairly new school, no? Although a goodie!!! As if I didn't already love Juliette Lewis, her performance was so great as a brave little soul who lost her whole family to the TITTY TWISTER.

Near Dark was one of my favorites but I also liked Rockula, kind of more of a comedy then a horror. Directed by Luca Bercovici and stared Dean Cameron, Bo Diddley, Thomas Dolby, and Toni Baisl (of the 1980's hit "Hey Mickey, you're so fine, you're so fine you blow my mind!) fame.

and around the same time as Lost Boys is a great lil vamp movie called Near Dark - great lil quirky movie with actors from Aliens it was great.

I have to say Interview with the Vampire. It captures the beauty as well as the repulsiveness of the vampiric world.

With old school ficiton, it would have to be The Loast Boys. Such an enjoyable film in the sense of unrealistic adventure.

Not sure how old this one is but bordello of blood the tales from the crypt movie. My all time old favs are just bitten with jim carey and nosferatu.

Better artistry than Bram Stokers Dracula, classier performances than Lost Boys, far better dialogue than any previously mentioned, except perhaps From Dusk Till Dawn.

Overall, it creates a deeper emotional connection to the vampyres themselves, one of the few movies where one can feel the sorrow of the plight and true pity for their curse and where they are depicted throughout with grace and awesome beauty, revelling in their gift.

One of my favourite old skool vampire films has to be "Dracula: Dead and loving it" its a comedy vampire film with leslie Nelson in it..i found it very humourous....if you've watch it then you'll know what i'm on about...!!

Dracula- with Bella Lugosi 1931 I was a kid the first time i saw it back in the 60's on bob schreve's all night theater and loved it found it on a vcr tape and have treasured it since! i think it was the accent. lol

WOW I should have Checked this more often but it definatly seems Bram and lost boys are top tier movies, (eventhough they arnt quite so "Old School") But it was good to hear any ways

Does anime count? if so it would definately be the original Vampire Hunter D...as far as real flicks...Lost Boys, Fright Night, and Interview would probably be the top three.
