A while back, a man I know said that he could see being okay with a female vampire taking blood from him but not a male. He is very hetero.

His statement got me thinking. How does sexual orientation affect vampiric feeding?

If you are a vampire (sang or psy), does the donor have to be a person of your sexual preference?

If you are a donor (or might be in the future), does the gender of the vamp make any difference to you?

I feel a lot more comfortable when it's with I feed from a female, and I have never found feeding from a guy very appealing at all. So for me, being gay affects my feeding, I suppose...

Awhile back a friend of mine said something to a similar effect. She said she would never feed off a women because, "I don't swing that way."

I was alittle thrown by that, 'cause I'm bi and had never really thought about discriminating by gender. I'd never even considered not feeding on somebody because of their gender until she mentioned it.

So I suppose that while sex does factor into my feeding I am feel comfortable with either gender.

Well vampirism is indeed very sexual, whether it be a consious or subconsious thing....yes I wont lie, there is no appeal in it for me if there isnt a bit of an attraction....a rush. But there are always acceptions.

Drinking blood is not always, but most often, thought of as sexual. So if a vampire has a certain preference for dating and sex, then of course, feeding sources will most likely apply to that as well. True, it should not matter if it be male or female, but it just does to some.

I agree, if I don't feel some sort of attraction for my donor, then it's almost a sort of let down after I've finished feeding.

Exactly. Part of the whole feeding process for me is to gain some sort of pleasure and satisfaction, and if there is no attraction, as Ardaiya says, it is a let down, and there is neither pleasure nor satisfaction.

Vampirism in itself is asexual. Feeding, however, is more of a sexual thing (not always, but in many cases). In many ways it is easier to seduce a victim than to take by force, so in this respect the choice of donors or victims would be affected by the vampir's sexual preference. Of course, in a pinch: food is food.

Well now that all depends on whether you are going with Fictious vamps or real life vamps. Most Fictious ones can't, and the only real life ones that can't are ones that have fertility problems.

We are not corpses. We have reproduction cells within us. We also have something that drives us to be different from those who are not vampires. We are humans, but we are vampires. We are something more or less than what is believed to exist. We don't match up with everything that Hollywood lays down for us.

Basically most of the "myths" were written by Bram Stoker. But, many were handed down as oral tradition in the many cultures across the entire globe that have reported vampires. These "facts" were mainly used as comforting ways to believe that these "monsters" weren't going to be around forever, or that you could protect yourself from them. Kind of like a child believing that if the lights are on the boogeyman can't get them.

Actually, many do discriminate, but not on sexuality or sexual orientation.

It's more of the usefulness of their energy-- or in the case of sang vampires, the sheer energy in their blood.

Do not feed from the old, nor not feed from the young, for they cannot protect themselves well enough to regenerate the energy, thus making them suseptable(sp, bah its early) to disease and stress.

Not everyone sees that way, either. Some that I know of actually feed from the person, recycle their energy and give it back to them, which can actually help to nourish the person a bit.

I personally find biting and feeding on a female highly erotic but it is not the same when it comes to the male species.

I believe that sexuality is often taken into account because feeding is such an intimate act. When you feed from your donor you develop a very close personal connection to them. Our donors are precious to us, they gives us what we need to get by.

Now having stated this:

I have a preference for male donors. I find their energy is what I need the most, but then again my favorite way to feed is through sexual energy lol....Feeding from a woman is just not as fulfilling for me. But if I had no other option and needed more then I could get from other sources I would feed on a woman.

I would love it if either male or female bit me..or vice versa..both would hold great pleasure for me!

If a vampire is a hetero I guess they would prefer someone of theo pposite sex,but I guess this is more for sanguine cause for energy feeding I don't think it would make much difference since they can feed without even touching the person.

I am a lesbian and am not even remotely comfortable with biting or being bitten by a male. For me, the biting/being bitten thing is very erotic and sexual.

I'm bisexual, and it doesn't bother me either way. However, I don't think that's because of my sexual orientation, but because feeding isn't always a sexual thing. I think it depends on how you feel about te process that makes that definition really.

For me I van take energy from either and not have a problem but I would only take blood from women. The taking of blood isvery sexual.

I'm not a vamp so my opinion may not hold much weight. Although I will post it.

I think sexuality does come into play but only just a little bit. As a hetero man, I can still view another man as attractive and even consider having a meal with said person. That does NOT mean I want to have sex with him. As for feeding off that person, sure why not? If you enjoy a persons company or their looks or how they smell or overall they are pleasant then they would present a viable source of energy. I would also venture to say that their sexuality would alter their "primary" targets. I also think that the intimacy of sex is governed by ones sexual preference. The feeding is on a whole different level not goverened by sexual preference but something more primal.

I believe too that there is a definite influence if the need to feed comes from a powerful attraction. However, if the need is not based on attraction, but more on a raw need for blood, it most likely not matter. So, as some people pointed out already, its a matter of the reason for feed. If it's based on attraction it will surely follow your sexuality... I think...

So far, the orientation of the vampire/donor relation seems to be pretty important, with the importance increasing if it's blood versus energy involved.

There have been a few 'blood is blood' type of references, but only from a third-person viewpoint. If you feel that 'blood is blood' (and haven't given your personal preference already) please let me know how you feel if YOU were the one drawing blood/energy or donating blood/energy.

as stated in various forms above, feeding is an act of intimacy, and it just depends on who or rather which gender you're most comfortable with. I personally don't have a problem with it since I'm bi and both guys and girls do it for me ;)

i dont think it matter to alot of ppl me personally ill let feed from certain places certain ppl like my neck and other places r only goin to be a guy but gurls can feed from somewhere on my arms

As I am female I would much prefer to feed off a male, a willing one. heh I don't think I have the actual stature or goad to attack someone unwilling. But this is an interesting topic.

I personally only feed with males. I have fed off a female, but it wasn't sexual at all. I had a need and she filled it. I usually only feed off males because I tend to feed from my lovers. The fact they trust me enough to do that for me means alot.

The location I feed from is on the chest. I don't know why, I just do.

Because blood itsself is a very intimate part of us, it makes sense it is somehow connected to our more sexual orenataions, and how we feel about those people. I find it rare a person will feed or allow to be fed from someone they arent initially sexually interested in.

From what I have heard and read sometimes you are not given a choice whether it be male or female. Especially if it was Psy vamp that needed a donor they don't always seem to care what gender. Not sure if this is what you wanted to know but it's what I have learned. Sometimes people can feel that this is about to happen and you could learn to shield to prevent them from making you your donor if you are not wishing to be.

I do not have a preference, except that my best friend usually is the only girl that I take blood from. Every once in a while, I take from another lady.

the 2 psis that i live with dont seem to have any preference, however one is quite young. i do not need to draw from anyone personally but when i do need energy outside of my own for something i am very particular who i will draw from, but i do use both male and femal sources

I think from energy recieving, it's very much the same principle for me, adapting to your needs, and although it can be sexual if that connection is there, and is necessary at that time, but otherwise, it really doesn't have to be in my eyes.

I do believe vampires (no matter what type power they feed from), tend to go for which ever gender attracts them more. Unless under the circumstances in which they are in desperate need to feed, in that case a another less appealing donor might have to do.

I'm a lesbian, and I couldn't ever take blood from a male, however 'tempting' it may be...it is not always an intimate act, as has been said, but a lot of the time, it is...and being 'intimate' in the feeding way with the gender you are not attracted to...it just doesn't feel right at all...it's like having sex with someone you're not attracted to...in my opinion, anyway...

feeding is feding, whether its same sex or oposite sex. i my self would prefer male donors but if i can not find a male, i would also feed on a female. wat ever is avaliable really. sure there is a more sexual feel wen u choose a sex that u are comfortable with, but its different for different people.

Well the feeling of wanting to do something intimate with genders isn't limited to taking blood/energy. The same could be compared to sharing a bed, holding hands, seeing one naked, etc.

This would get me started on another topic, however. One day I feel that there will no longer be herterosexual, bisexual, and homosexual. We'll have just "sexual".

Greetings to those i have not met yet. I would like to voice my opinion on this subject as it seems one of the few that seem relevant to this age.
While I am a hetero, I have no reason to fear men feeding. If I refuse it is out of my mistrust of intentions. Feeding is not sex, while it is pleasurable. I simply prefer females in sexual contact. Males are usually more trust worthy, females are far more dangerous as feeders.(I have found).

Feeding to me has always been a sexual thing. I'm not a vampire, nor do I believe in them "in real life" - it has always been a fantasy thing to me (reading about them, RPGs, ect) but the thought and appeal has been the seduction of it - which includes and peaks at feeding. I'm straight, if I was going to be fed on or feed on someone it would need to be a female, and one I was attracted to.

When I feed, being a psy, its usually off generally everyone in the room, a little off each. Not just feeding off one person, as this may be bad for them. It doesn't really matter to me if they are male or female, in my opinion it doesn't affect the energy I am taking in as much as other aspects about them.

When it comes to drawing energy I find it relatively irrelevant which gender the donor or sometimes target person is.

I'm not a Sanguine and therefor cannot make a choice when it comes to blood donors but if I had to choose a gender I'd definately prefer a female.

Not because of the aroma or energy content but in the end the romantic factor would make me choose a girl/woman I guess.

Blood being the life force and the purest form of pranic energy, it is therefore very intimate and for me very sexual, so I am attracted to men only. Psy feedings are more impersonal to me and therefore either sex is fine, but if the psy enregy is from sexual activity (the act itself) it is definitely with a male. These are my personal preferences, but I respect the preferences of all....we are unique!

some may prefer one sex over the other reasons that pertain to their personality. They also might believe things like:

//women's blood is sweeter than men's
//guys are easier to maniuplate and secure blood from

People who won't drink from a certain sex just because of sexuality issues, that's getting old fashioned. No offense to people who ARE like that.
