Have you ever met a person that no one really notices even though they seem to be any where. these people are able to become " invisible" temporarily. I find it funny that even tough i am taller than the people i have the pleasure of doing this to are shorter than me they don't notice me even after i was behind them for half an hour and they only found me after friends decided to ive the game away . but when they turn around i am either pointing at their eye for some reason or i have just vanished.

Great topic! Lousy punctuation, spelling ("invisblity?") and sentence structure. It made my head hurt. In my agony I nearly closed it.

I hope we get some decent response to this.

ive heard of it being done but i cant do it... supposedly one must be able to completely clear ones mind in order to obtain such a state. largely due to the brain wave patterens strongly influence your fellow man.

I have a tendancy to do this i will be right next to someone and be unnoticed for periods of time, and then out of nowhere they notice me and get freaked out cause i am there and are like where did you come from and i tell them I've been here for 15 minutes or so (or however long i've been there), and one time my friends thought i was lost in a park when i was right doan the path from them and went and got other friends to help look for me.

I do not know why or how it happens, but I like it. It messes with people, makes them wonder.

Sometimes I feel invisible but I don't think that I have actually been that way. That would be pretty cool though.

I read something back in highschool (way back!) concerning infiltration tactics. One of the methods used so that an intended targed does not perceive you is to not look at them directly. Targets (or non-targets) should be acquired using periferal vision only.

This gets a bit metaphysical, but the theory behind this technique is that the target can, on a subconsious (psychic, if you will) level detect that you are looking at them.

Did you ever get the feeling you were being watched? A real feeling? That's what the article was talking about.

Also mentioned was intent. If you intend direct action upon said target, you'll set their "spider senses" tingling. This, combined with looking at the target, can get their attention. Again, you are projecting something at them that they can pick up on in some psychic or metaphysical way.

The article went on to state that if you are observing someone, but not looking at them or indending direct action, you can be, in a way, "invisible" to their senses.

Have you ever been sitting in a room full of people and stared at someone until they look directly at you? Have you ever been gazing around a room until suddenly your eyes lock with a complete stranger and you have crystal clarity that THEY were looking at YOU?

In any event, when I used to play paintball, in the woods, I'd test these techniques while hiding in bushes, etc. I won't go on the record with a yes or no as to whether they work or not. I will say that, from an objective viewpoint, looking directly at someone, from hiding did seem to make them more aware that I was there. When I "zoned out" and just waited for them to cross my field of vision, I was much more successful a the stalk.

My two cents.

My friend Andrea has a friend named John, and he just blends in, he RARELY speaks and it actually gives us the creeps sometimes, her mother and I were talking about this; sometimes you forget he is in the room or in the car with you. You find yourself realizing later on that he is still there.
I guess if you don't make an effort to stand out or make friends, in society you will be invisible in the sense that no one will notice you, or they won’t give you a second thought. It's really up to each individual to make a mark and get out there and enjoy life, no one chooses to ignore someone if they don’t even notice they are around.
I don't know about actually BECOMING invisible, physically, I would think it’s impossible unless you used training and camouflage.

Been doing this for many a good year. I just calm my breathe and mind, make an intent to disappear, then raise my protective shield. In my younger days, I wanted to really test this by going behind the bank counter of the town bank. Just to see what would happen. I always had great results before and it never failed except once back two years ago. But that is a different story. Anyway, I told myself why test something that you already know works. So, I never did it.

Well, while you can't make yourself completely invisible, using glamour to say either "look at me" or "I'm not here" is very possible - it just takes practice.

Hell, you can do a lot more than that, and make yourself seem more sexy, terrifying, harmless or whatever takes your fancy.

I read about that in highschool...I forget the name of the text. But it said if you sit in stillness of the mind and body, visualize your aura taking on the properties of that which is around you. By aura blending you become "invisible" to those around you.
I never got it to work for me...but then again. I'm not a very "still" person.

I once read a little spell about how to become temporarily invisible. It always seemed to work for me when i was at school... I didn't want the teachers to ask me questions in class :p
It's really just a mind thing.
You close your eyes and imagine a large white light with lots of sparkling stars. See and feel yourself become part of that light, disappear into it.

When you want to be notcied again, imagine reappearing from the light.

Don't know if this was helpful but I figure it was worth a mention.

This is a very interesting post. I've never heard of people going 'invisible' before. I have run across a couple of spells for this type of thing, but I tend to want to be seen and tend to be a bit of a chatterbox, so I have never used it.

Danielle, mine is more psychological in nature. You withdraw away from all social and subliminal cues and people psychologically don't see you because you don't present a draw to them.

I do not choose to be invisible, I like to interact with people. Mentally,Physically, Psychologiacally I liek to interact with people, therefore; why would I choose invisibility. I suppose if a person wanted to it's not beyond possibiltiy, mind over matter if you will. The mind is a strange thing~noone really knows how it works~ so, I wasn't saying it wasn't possible, I was saying I choose a different path.

well it is psyhcological as you say yet it is also a choice of if you truly want to be noticed or not so alot of people choose to be and alot choose not to be. This is more on how people pay attention to or not to thier surroundings. I mean if I choose not to be noticed I am not till I am ready to be. then sometimes I want to be noticed, it is of your mind and what state you choose to be in at given point and time people are even trained as Jason said to be not seen, so it is possible for anyone if they choose .. this is just my opinon is all..

I too share the uncanny ability to seemingly blend in- I am very quiet in nature, and I have been known to sneak up on people quite easily. This has its uses, but also it is a burden- when people don't pay much attention to you, they haven't the desire to talk with you.

Oh yeah, I also knew some kids in highschool that were really good at that. They could be standing with a group of people for a long ass time and no one would even notice they were there.... yeah... no one liked those kids.

But scaring them proves to be fun in is own way. I wasn't well liked in highschool much, but I don't much care for such notions, either people accept me or they don't.

I am proud of my talent, as it could entail for me information that others may have to work more hard for to gain, or just be able to watch people's actions and behaviours.......... t'is fascinating.

I don't think this is about wallflowers without soul, I think the most vapid invisible peeps are the ones who need attention.

I remember one night I was on either Acid or Dust, and my hearing was better. I went tp the Pyramid, and this really super hot leather clad chic came in with two slaves, and she sat down on a couch while I was reciting a poem from memory to the bartender, or the guyy hired to be their to get peeps to talk, he was the "ear" of the place. In fact he wasn't the bar. I asked him if he worked there he said: "kind of in a way..."

The girl has her two slaves on the floor and I over heard her say after I recited the poem:'I am right here why doesn't he see me?' I did the Jason thing to see if she was looking at me, and yes she was, yes she was beautiful, but I treat hot women as if they are invisible. I get the wall flower of the wall paper and I make her feel like a queen, to bring out a sparkle out of the eye of a woman that didn't know a gem resides in her eye, that is something the leather clad hot womanhattan can not ever render.

Yes, invisibility does work. I don't know exaclty how it is done, but I have been in the forest standing in a pathway (this is a park back home that is well traveled) and people completely walk right past me, no eye contact, nor any knowledge of my exisistance. Whether or not I physically disappeared is still a mystery to me, I do not believe I did, but somehow these folks were not aware of me being there. Odd.

I think the most amazing thing posted on this thread was the car ride with the guy who you forgot was there. There is a humble humility in being there but not being there. It is not unworthiness, or not being equal. The thing that makes you look back in the car to see if they leapt out the window of the moving car is because they have a life energy they keep on the downlow, and when they express themselves, or choose not to, you remember the times they did. So it is not lack of Soul, but the withholding of power which has the affect of attraction actually. People don't listen to the one who always speaks, but the ones with a life force more shy, everyone hears them when they break their self imposed silence.

My brother once went to school, High School and he didn't say a word the whole day.

I ahve even been able to pass my talents on by teaching people how to become invisible and it has been very successful. I have tried that with someone who cares about me... my own mother, she got worried sick when i was seven and found out i could sort of disappear and i was right beside her all along. (laughs) I agree with the psychological pint of veiw and i usually don't want to be seen by my friends and teachers sometimes as i am considered very smart and am always looked for to give answers, even when there are people in my class that should learn and not just ask me for answers.

As a child my energy and psy abilities were very strong, This is usually normal amongt children who discover their abilities at an early age. At the height of my discovery of my abilities, we moved from California to Ohio. My whole family, grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins met with us in Ohio. People was bumping into me and others were looking around for me even tho i was standing in the middle of the crowd. I cannot claim to have been invisible but another time years later i had been awake for days, i believe 7 to be exact and when i finally found my bed and went to sleep, no one could find me all day, and had the police looking for me, even tho i was laying in my bed. Again, i cant say i was invisible but i will say i was overlooked.

Suprisingly, this is a practiced art and if done accordingly it can be a very useful tool when eluding. If i were to tell a story of being "Invisable" around people i can say i do it all the time...i don't seem to be nor feel invisable i just do things in stealth or when they arn't paying attention, a pretty clever tactic in its own right.

i know i already posted, but this is sorta a reply to the ones that posted after i.
shadowwalking is one of the numerous names for it...however, most ppl dont use that b/c it sounds dark, although, it is a word that is self explanetory!
lol
and, when using your energy, sometimes when you dont really think hard on something exactly (ex. you're watching tv and you see someone flying...you may think subconciously to use your energy to levitate...yet you dont really notice yourself thinking that so you dont concentrate hard on it...and then you start to lift off the couch or bed! lol)
it just happens
but you can practice...it may not always make perfect
but, some ppl work well w/ certain energies better than others do...

I've never known someone to go 'invisible' like that, but a friend of mine got very close. He's my age, went to school with me for 5 years, and until he started hanging out with me and my friends none of us knew he even existed. For 6 months we were conviced he was a transfer student, because we knew everyone else in our grade. He's not particularily forgettable either. He's good looking, tallish, has spiked hair, and studded leather armbands and that sort of thing. I know all the people in the group he used to hang out with, but I never saw him with them. I've apparantly even had a class with him. I must have seen him hundreds, even thousands of times and just never noticed him. Like a houseplant or something. Creepy. But he'd make the ideal stalker.

I tend to display this phenominon quite regularily......tons of people know me...I am somewhat of a recognized face in the edmonton scene...and yet i can be standing in a group of them....and hear someone asking if I have been seen lately...while i'm standing there...but then again...I tend to keep thoughts "quiet" so to speak..., I also walk quietly almost all the time....and I reserve eye contact for when I want to be heard...

yes, I tend to do that some times as well as my best friend. We slip in and out, around all kinds of people. One moment we seem to be there, the next we are gone

Some find that this 'ability' has to do with a clouding of another's mind. However it is also stated that such mastery can also be ofshifting space or time-- even bending light-- in order to become invisible.

If you want a person to see you, most likely they will.

However if you're use to adding a protective barrier to yourself in tight situations where those around you may not be the friendly sort, sometime the strength of Will alone can make one appear to be invisible.

I have done this both intentionally and unintentionally when I first became interested int he occult back in my first year or two of high school. I can still manange to 'throw my voice' without being seen, but this is more playful than anything else.

Same can be said for my 'TA-DA! I'm here!' beacon.

I concur with Narakyndryn. I believe one can use energies to cloud minds long enough to do whatever one needs done.
However, this beguilement will not sustain, or one will quickly run out of usable energies to perform this feat.

I dont know about the whole invisible thing , some people are just more quiet than others and in turn demand less attention so the people who demand more seem to suck up the room , so when things calm down the person who seems to be invisble has appeared because the volume has fallen down to a calmer level. Purely my opinion.... mean not to offend ....

alot of times people tend to feel invisible to the human eye because they are so quiet and never do anything noticable to acknowledge their existance

but say for example you are playing hide and go seek... if you want to be invisible bad enough, you can become invisible even when the person is staring right at you

about a year ago, when these new laser tag guns came out...the ones w/ the headset...
me and my brother were playing at dark...and i hid in the shadows...really good.
and, it was on a bank...so i picked up a rock and threw it a long way away so that he would go over that way...
and i kept shooting him, yet, he never figured out where i was hitting him from...
and then he got close to me, walking the edge of the trees,,,,so i jumped up and ran up the inbankment...lol
i sliped and broke my finger...

I have a friend that came into my house one night while three of us were sitting having a serious conversation. It was widely known the we left the door unlocked. He rang the bell and walked in. I remember hearing the doorbell, I stepped to the door and saw (it has glass panels) that there was no one there. There's only a long hallway from the front door to the living room, yet he walked right by me and made himself comfortable without anyone of us seeing him. I returned to the living room and resumed our talk when suddenly I noticed him sitting on the edge of the couch. Everyone else in the room was pretty amazed at how we did it, but it wasn't a trick (at least as far as I was concerned).

After that experience I'm pretty sure it's a state that people can either will upon themselves or might find themselves in from time to time...

I guess the real question is "what is invisible?" Is it just the ability of not being noticed, or the ability to actually bend light around you? I remember back in HS watching this episode of X-files where this guy willed the 2 cops in the car with him not to notice the semi approaching them and crash into the car. I think some people have this ability to make people not see them. I myself am quiet and without trying can walk silently so others do not see or hear me without turning around. I usually startle them when I do this. Also, depending on how you blend into a crowd would define this. As long as you don't make a scene, people may see you, but don't remember you.

I don't entirely know why, but I seem to have this "disappearing" ability, and often have been looked for without any hope of finding me for hours.... only to be found when called emerging from my room....

It kind of bothered me for a while, but then I was placed in an extremely Christian home... not that I have anything against Christians, or those of any beliefs or religions, I just think that I ought to be able to practice my own.... However, in this home, I preferred to be looked for for hours, as it would save me from having to sit and listen to the Bible studies, the prayers, everything... for me, it became a life saver.... if you go through the ratings system in the accessories database, you'll see one of my rating that says I am not fond of crosses... that would be why... religious oppression for years....

either way, I escaped notice most of the time by apparently being nowhere, when I was right in front of their facces.... I did it at home, at school.... I jut faded into nonexistance.... it was great... and still is.... I like not being noticed anymore...

I think that people can go around being unnoticed, but thats mostly because they are so quiet and keep to themselves, never really thought about them being invisible. Thats an interesting way of looking at it.

to clarify, this is a topic with which i am very familiar with. i use this on a daily basis since i am in the army. i have practiced this for several decades. it doesn't matter who you are or what your prey is doing. you can be invisible to anyone. it just takes practice. no i will not tell you how in a public forum as i had to learn it the hard way

Yes i have heard of such thing before, I have also heard that its due to your change in energy levels, that actually makes you undetecable by the energy field of the others around you... as i belive that its through our energy signatuare that we are identified by others.. thus reducing this you will become much less detactable

There is a SF story "a lighter shade of pale" I believe, where an astronaught crash lands on a planet that has no color... all shades of grey. he is wearing a bright orange survival suit and they cannot see him, because their eyes are not adjusted to the spectrum of color. The same can be said of ghosts... The higher ffrequency that they vibrate at cannot be witnessed; simmilar to auras, or a fan when it is turned on high.

There have been moments when it seemed that no one was aware of my presence. People cutting in front of me in line at the bank, I'm like "Hello? Line forms behind me." lol And, there have been times, whilst driving, I've come to a 4-way stop, and it seems that not just me, but my entire vehicle are invisible....and everyone else just keeps taking turns in front of me. Gah! I hate that!!

But, seriously, I don't see how someone could become "invisible" in the truest definition of the word. Then, again, people go missing all the time....who's to say they haven't gone invisible permanently? This makes me think of 'spontaneous human combustion'.....that's a not-so-subtle way of becoming invisible....permanently.
(Is it hot in here, or is it just me?)

Btw....why are some of you typing 'high school' as a single word?? lol You sillies. :)

It's really less about becoming invisible and more about fading into the foreground. As an avid reader, I've often been sitting innocently on a couch reading, an activity involving no noise and minimal movement, and have been missed by people looking for me, even as they glance around the room. The human eye is easy to fool.

Isn't this really more a case of you feeling tht you are invisible, as in your mental state?

I considered that you where trying to communicate a feeling of invisibility, (and obviously these subconscious effects on the body to prevent you being noticed, or at least feeling that way) before writing an answer.

As a Theatre student, I have often been set "homework" to study people in every day situations, and therefore analyse if they are consciously or subconsciously acting a role (for example, two people playing chess in a cafe will often communcate stereotypical motifs of chess playing, for example scratching their heads, and whether this is deliberately bringing attention to themselves as "chess player.")

When doing thi, I do often exprience a feeling of invulnerability and a heightened state of perception to be observing without being noted as an observer. I think this does change your own actions and size of actions to communicate less.

The body can have an amazing effect of communicating your motivatins i.e. not to be seen.

So yes, I do understand what you mean, and this is an enjoyable experience for some parts. However, next time you do this, you should ask yourself if others are actually observing you in the role of "observer" or "loner."

Things can always be understood better from a different perspective, whoevers that actually is.

I have heard about it, and am not sure what to think.
I am very noticeable...not sure why. I run into people who remember me from grade 6, and say "I used to sit beside you in math", and when I finally figure out from where, it's like I went to that school for 4 months! Why do they remember me after over 14 years? I can't even sneak up on any of my friends , 'cause someoe always points me out .
But I figure if I could do it, I just might for the fun factor.

i beleive the trick to invisibility isnt unnoticeablity or a clear mind or just simple lack of flair but a simple thing such as confidence...or lack there of a completely confident person can walk into a store walk behind a counter and steal something as big as a whole keg of beer (only works with unwavering confidence)while the person who is un confident can meld into a crowd of one single person never seen or spoken of. because of there un extrordinary presense make excellent assassins ex:columbine

The trick to invisibility is to forget yourself. Get lost inside the universe. Become another, and not know who you are. It is in the Basic Book of Witchcraft.

I just can't put much faith into one's ability to become invisible. This could very well be that I am new to this idea, so I will not say it is impossible. However, if I could pull that one off, boy would I have fun!

May people who tend to not speak or the just sit in a group and never really stand out tend to feel unnoticed. This is why some people can actually go unnoticed or think they are invisible.
