Clairvoyance is definaed as the paranormal vision of objects, events, places, and people that are not visible through normal sight. It is a form of Extrasensory Perception (ESP) that overlaps with telepathy and precognition (knowledge of the future). Clairvoyance can happen spontaneously, such as when a person has a vision of the past, or the possible future.
Please share with us if you have experienced any clairvoyancy and what the outcome of such was.

My personal experience is most times no more than knowing who is on the other end of the phone when it rings, knowing who is at my door without looking, or seeing events in dreams that come true. The most disturbing of which was a dream in which a friend was killed in a car accident only to awaken the next morning to that very news. Since that dream, I have learned to never discount "feelings".

Clairvoyance is one of many "psychic senses". There's also, clairsentience, clairaudience, intuition, the list goes on...

Now, what you experienced is what I'd categorize as premonition. You saw what would happen beforehand. As for knowing who's at your door, that sounds like intuition. You seem to have a few psychic senses that you use...

With me it's usually knowing that a member of my family is in trouble or needing help, especially my sister, whom I'm closest to in the family.
I think most of us get that itchy feeling when being watched/stared at in public.

I have clairsentience, my ability allows me to pick up information in areas, houses, graveyards, etc... It lets me know what happend in the past.

For me I have premontions and can even predict some things by sensing my surroundings.

I wouldn't say that I was clairvoyant, persay. I have seen things and I usually know where to go and when.. I have steered out of a lot of trouble just by instinctly not going where the I have a feel that something is not right.

i have experienced something as such, but i see it as premonition,

my experience, i was driveing home late from work, around 1am, and i was just driveing along doing about 55, i was with my freind and i got this feeling of panic that swept over me, and i knew that something was going to jump out into the road, and so i slamed on the breaks, and my friend fliped out saying "what the hell are you doin" and when we stoped a dog ran into the road a foot away from my car and stoped, and looked threw the window at me, and then crossed, that was my slight premonition. --v--

This would be one of the many experiences I've had: I dreamt I was walking into my father's house. Just a normal Sunday morning. Once I came in my siblings were sitting in front of the TV set watching cartoons. I asked, "Where's dad?". They responded "Still sleeping. We're waiting for him to make breakfast..." I went into his room only to find out that he had passed away. A week later my father died. And my grandmother found him in the exact same way I dreamt in my premonition.

I've exprianced it at least once. It was rather silly. I was gazing out my bedroom window and when I blinked I saw this boy from school. He had a black shirt on, with harley davidson on it and blue jeans. The next day, I saw the same boy and he was wearing the same exact clothes.

Mine is more intuition...I do counseling and often am able to intuitively ask the "right" questions or able to state what happened to the person before s/he actually discloses. It comes in handy with in my line of work.

i have it...i was born with the gift. the first time i remember having one of the eposides was when i was in 3rd grade and i we were making things, and all of a sudden i had remembered all of this before and i was whispering what the childern were saying...i almost ran out of the room i was so scaried, it was like i had lived all this before. i'm not sure kind of the gift i have but i do know i see the future. i just have to be reminded of it. like it's a faint dream i remember having but not remembering until something jogs my memory...yeah thats me. -.-

There are times when I just know things. I dont know how I know them.. i dont get goose bumps.. or dreams.. or visions. I have a habit of finding things on try number 1.

Last weekend.. i went shopping with a couple of friends for a bridal shower of my soon to be daughter in law We went into the Hallmark store, and one of my friends started searching through a box of "fairy pennies" .. Pennies with a fairy wrapped aournd them as a keepsake...

She was looking for a specific dates on the pennies. Her birth year, and the Brides birth year. Out of 300 pennies.. i picked up 3, and had the 2 she wanted on the first try.

i'd call mine more of intuition. i can sense when my friends and family are in danger and i am there to provide warning...someone else in my family had that same gift as well.

I think that all humans have the power of clairovoyance, intuition, premonintion, etc., it's like instinct. It is built into our makeup. It's just depends on how 'in tune' you are with it.
There is many a time when I sense things going on around me, near me or I can predict things; as simple as a telephone call or a car crash coming up on the highway from miles away. It's like a voice in my head that informs me, warns me and/or guides me. Preminiton? Maybe. Intuition? Maybe. Spirit guide? Maybe. But that's a whole other topic altogether....

also i do have such premonations too, like in dreams mostly.. one of the hardest was when i saw my father s funeral 3 months before his death.... at the time i was young, thus is didnt took heed of it... from that day forth tough.. i learned to trust my insticts

I don't know if you would consider it clairvoyance, but I do get a sense of someone watching me and when I turn toward that gaze, they unfailingly quickly turn away, so as to try to make me believe they weren't watching me.

sometimes i can see an feel as if i were someone elese i guess like an out of body expierence an into another nearby body. i cannot control that person but that would be fun.

im not sure if what happens to me is clairvoyance...sometimes a song will pop into my head and i can turn the radio on and its playing the exact song that popped into my head.. ive had dreams come true...but never really put much stock in it i would think both of them is nothing more than a coincidence.

meh, at the moment I am having problems.
Many of the above things happen, but at ltimes I have feeling as though there is a buzzing fly in my head, and like now, it acan't come up. It's much like buring underwater.

my nan when i was young had lots of clayvoant experiences and read palms and all that ,i always tried to make myself see the furture with little success but as ive got older its jsut come to me now ,but not all things i see are good,ive seen accidnts happend to ppl and its not a nice things to know i might have been able to stop it

I have had quite a few similar experiences to what you mentioned in your original post.

I feel I can get positive or negative enrgies from a lot of things, and have sometimes been very accurate in my assumptions of what a place used to be, or how a person is really feeling.

I have only had one experience with it, and I hope that I never have one again. I lost a friend, hopefully not forever but for right now she refuses to see/talk to me.

I have a set of gypy cards, no not tarot cards those are different. I was learning about it, and so I only "did readings" for me. But my friends sister was in the hospital with complications, and 6 months pregnant. Against my better judgement when my friend asked that I "do a reading" for her, so she won't worry so much....I complied.

I knew something was really wrong, right from the start. It was horrible. I did not want to know it, but it pulled me through anyway. My friend asked me what the cards meant. And I asked her if it really matters in the first place and does she really need to know. She said yes. So I told her. The cards said that first the baby will die, and then the mother, (her sister), and the boyfriend of her sister feeling depressed will try to take his own life but fail.
My friend said I was sick. She said I am a horrible person. Everything she said hurt. But it hurt far more when I found out it came true. I have not touched the cards since then.
If this is an aspect of my gift, then I humbly would like to return it.
I would like to never use it again. Is this wrong?

I think a lot of it can be summed up by the whole "Infinite monkees" theory. Life can be pretty random but our memories and experiences tend to be limited in the whole scheme of things.

Put enough possibilities into a confined subset of occurances and you'll get a match quicker.

Of course, that doesn't discount all experiences - our brains and their true capabilities are not fully understood by anyone...

Something sort of happened a few times, it was usually a few seconds before it actually happened. Once was when I saw my kitten do something just before it happened and a few other little random things.

One of my friends had a dream once where someone was hit by a car and killed, (the dream didn't show who it was but it didn't seem to be a stranger), then loads of us were lined up in the school hall to be told something.
The next day we were all taken into the hall to be told a girl in our year had been hit by a speeding car and died.

I also agree that it happens to everyone sooner or later.I have always thought that those who are more open to the concept of a premonition, are more likely to know when they are experiencing one. I myself have had "feelings", usually about someone I meet. I must stubbornly admit, those "feelings" have never been wrong. Any time I ignore them, I always end up hurt, or taken advantage of. I am opening my mind up to these ideals more than ever at this time in my life, and it can be soooo confusing, and hard to understand.

I don't know if this counts, but I get severe deja vu almost everyday.

i tend to know if im going to meet a friend in town b4 i leave home and know if the working day will be fine once or twice ive know what a problem is goin to be

I have feelings and very few actual visions. I am not Clairoyant, but I tend to have more feelings or hunches around those of my friends who are clairoyant.

August 6, 2002 I was at work late at night and suddenly this image kind of like a short film runs thru my head. In it I see myself sitting on a sofa in my home and someone I can't see is looking thru my fridge. he says, "Connie you don't have much food in here?"
My response is, "Well with Leona and Jerald dead I don't need much."

The next day my husband, Jerald, drowned and my eldest daughter, Leona, nearly drowned in a river not far from where we lived. I wish I had realized what exactly the vision I had seen the night before really meant but I just thought it was my imagination running wild.

my psychic abilities are still developing, therefore my "visions" are only going as far as being able to predict what someone is going to say or do up to about three minutes in the future. lol hey at least it's something! so far my proudest psychic moment was being able to predict that a deer was going to pass in front of us. as soon as i told the driver to slow down a deer crossed the road, but, thanks to me, we were able to avoid hitting it. yay, me! lol.

I had a "daydream" of a conversation when my friend told me she was pregnant" a few hours later I sat there and listened to her tell me the exact thing I dreamed. It was overwhelming. I had one when a passenger jet crashed several years ago. Not as detailed but the theme was there. Little daily things are involved. I used to look at a glass nera the edge of the counter and see it fall and break and ignore it. I would come home and the cat had knocked it to the floor and broken it. Now when I have those "little visions" I act on them. I suppose if it is a gift I shouldn't ignore it.

I love myspiritual gifts. Ive "omni-clair" meaning my I have clair-voyance, olefactus, sentient, and audiance. I also a medium and telepath. Those I love, but I am CURSED with empathy. Those close to me either get angry at me (which makes is worse) cuz they dont get the full chance to deal with there feelings around me, or they love it cuz they dont have to be alone in it. But with as stressed as America is all the time, I go through suicidal boughts all the time because of it.

I have had a few experiences, the most significant one was when i was about 11 yr old. Up until that point no one but very old and close members of our family knew my mom was adopted. it wasn’t a secret, she knew but no one other than my dad her and grandparents really knew she wasn’t birthed in to her family. So I had a really strange dream/vision, like at that in-between sleep and wakening time, and i freaked out because i was there. I described the arch ways in my grandmothers long dead brothers house where the state signed her over, i remember the color of her dress, blue and white she had a hat with a red ribbon and black shoes. she was holding the hand of a woman in a peach suit dress and a white hat with gloves. i told them how the fan was click click clicking and it was deffining to me. i heard the name Sherliy. So when i told my mom all this stuff my grandmother not a big drinker at ALLL, makes her self a highball and my mom and her proceed to tell me she was adopted from a prostitute woman named Shriliy Smith, ( yeah really smith) in my dead uncles house, the state gave them my mom and some of her other sisters and brothers were adopted out to distant family of ours in the east. there were 12 kids she gave up the first 6 and had 6 more and kept them. of the 12 there’s only 7 left, and one in prison for ever. But no worries, he likes it there. I’ve had a few others in my time but none so as intense as that one.

i have deja vu all the time, or i see friends hooking up, i see things in dreams all the time, but i have a very hard time remembering what i saw....

this one time i had this vision of the world trade center being blown up. i hear the dead. how they scream at me. i am not sure what my gift is called.

I have had a lot since I was little. Be it conversations with friends at school to incidents that didn't happen for 3 years. My most memorable was when I was 10. My mother was walking past my bedroom door to see me clawing at the air. She said I was acting like I was trapped in a coffin. I kept screaming let me out. Please let me out. My mom started asking me questions to wake me but it didn't work. When I finally calmed down the only thing I said was to save anna. Then fell immediately back into a deep sleep. 3 days later 4 states away they found a girl named anna buried alive by her kidnapper who was caught and revealed her location. My mother was terrified and told me of what she saw and heard from me that night. The authorities found claw marks in the coffin lid matching my actions in my sleep. My mother has never looked at me the same since and listens to many of my dreams that end up saving her or others a lot of pain or death.

I sometimes have clues in my dream....but most of the time i do not figure them out till to late.....also deja vu is evil. I usually get light headed....and confused.

I have "feelings" when around people, and can feel the state of mind of family members miles away. I also have a very strong sense of intuition. I can tell when a given situation is going to turn out badly, but unfortunately I never have learned from that one! I am just starting to tap into these areas of myself, and am learning more every minute of every day. This is why I came to this site, and I am fascinated with this topic.

Ever see the Arby's commercial, where there logo is floating above someone head? That is like my gift. I can just look at someone, and it is as if I see a word, discribing there thoughts and emotions at that time, hovering above their head. It doesn't have to be in person, either. Someone can speak of someone else, and I can see what that person is doing, feeling, et cetera.

I see parts of the future, but I get tremendous flash backs of the past, and normally its present life past, but of other people, I've been told I go into a sort of daze when I get the flash backs, and i spill out everything i see, good OR bad, and I've often reduced people to tears because of it and it does upset me cause its normally close friends and family, and about things that I would have never known about. I'll usually be able to tell who's calling or who's at the door, and I also tend to have dreams that come true the next day. The most absurd one I can remember was where I lost a sock, and then I found it; the next day, it played out exactly the way it had in my dream, and I only remembered the dream as I went along; apparently you can't change the future.

I have lots of intution and all round clairvoyance. i Have even read tarot cards and unfortunately, they always come true. Why unfortunately? i choose not to answer

I can sense when people are around me or near me and occasionally whos at the door.

I used to go to a spiritual church and they could tell me things about me that only my close friends and family would know.

There are 2 events which stick out in my mind and I hope that you will not be offended or turned off by one in paticular.
The first happend last year when I was living at my country home. I was driving down the road on my way to the store when I got a strong feeling of loss. This furthered into a name and time. It was of my friends grandmother, I saw her laying in a bed taking her last breath, and that this would happen very soon, within days.
The next day my friend called me and told me that her grandmother had died.

The second one I have gotten a lot of flack over but I dont really care because its true I just hope that no one takes it the wrong way.
It was the Saturday before 9/11 I was talking to some associates of mine at a cookout. The whole day I was a bit off, and they asked me what was worng I told them that I saw a lot of death and pain on the horizon, they inquired further and I told them that NY City was going to be attacked by people using unconventional means. And that this would happen very, very soon
Needless to say it did.
On the topic of my vision of 9/11 I would just like everyone to know that I am not one of those who go around screaming the worlds going to end nor am I somebody who just makes things up. I live in TN but I nearly lost someone very dear to me that day. My ex, still a friend of mine, was at the Pentagon when the plane crashed into it, thankfully he was on the other side of the building.

I often know whne my mom wants something to eat or drink (specifics) before she does or one of us will buy something based on what the other was thinking.
While this is a small form of clairvoyance, I've also had it before something really bad happens.. ie. everytime I've been in a car accident. It always starts off with a very odd feeling and I just dont want to leave the house that day.

i think that can happen easily with someone ur really really close to some are born with it others with out

I often have clairvoyant experiences through my dreams. I will have dreams that occur frequently and I have gotten into the habit of recording my dreams and after experiencing an intense moment of deja-vu I will find the experience already recorded from my dreams. Most of the women on my fathers side of the family have this gift or ability and some apparently had actual visions while awake. I wonder if this indicates that it is something that can run in families. Does anyone know anything about that?

The last time I had an occurance of clairvoyance was in a dream. It was back when I had braces 3 years ago. I dreamed I would lose a bracket to a tootsie roll. Next day, it happened.

I sumtimes think I am a little bit clairvoyant. I will know who's calling me or exactly what a person is goin to say. I'm not sure if its from knowing the situation or from some psychic power.
