I have never actually been bitten, but I have encountered people who have two hole marks on their necks that they swear to me are from Vampires. I can't really say if I believe them or not, becasue even Hollywood cannot decide on what a vampiric bite would look like. Is there any signature mark that can be t truthfully aligned to vampires? Or have these people just been sticking pins into their necks...

I dreamt about being bitten, and I could see the holes in myneck in the dream, and then in the morning I could feel that they were there, but I couldn't see any marks.

I'll take both sides of this one I guess...First Halloween and stage make up can be easily gotten year round. Also even if a person's bites were real, no two would look the same because no two vampires would have the same bite pattern. So either way I'm guessing it would be hard to tell for sure.

I wouldn't know what it's like, since I never have been bitten, but I agree bites are never a like. I don't think they wouldn't be perfect pinholes either, Vampire or not the is other teeth as well, that would leave a mark. I think that person that showed you did it themselves. That's just my opinion.

For just two holes it would have to be a really, really careful bite and then only with the top teeth - how do you keep the rest of the teeth out of the way ?

Less of a bite and more of a buck toothed overbite lunge maybe ?

Has to be pins or makeup, any real type of bite will have other teeth prints involved not just 2 holes.

All the vampires I know have more than two teeth, and they bite hard. A vampire bite is most likely to bear more of a mark than just two holes for front eyeteeth.

None of the vampires I know use their teeth to break the skin.

It leaves unsightly marks and takes longer to heal.

Razor blades seem to be the most commonly used tool.

if you had actually been bitten i think that you might struggle a little bit and the bite would turn into a tear that more than likely would get infected and swell and cause alot of pain and a good tear not two holes

I also feel it is not real yet some kind of make-up illusion.

How could a bite be exact there is no such thing because of struggle and well, that is just how I feel.

I dont think its real... If it were a Real Bite there would be more than just the two holes, Like everyone has mentioned... Even if the teeth have been filed Extremely well there will still be more than the two impressions... Besides there are alot of other ways to extract Blood! Wicked Kisses & Blessed Be! Darla...

I'd have to agree with the whole stage make- up thing. It seems the most likely to me. I've been biten before and it's (from as far as I could tell) impossible to keep it to only two teeth marks.

Clinically speaking there would have to be more than two "pin pricks". Look at your own mouth and picture yourself biting someone. Unless they had very long canines it would be physically impossible, to make just two marks.

Its nonsense if you ask me.

There are some people out there who would be crazy enough to stick pins into thier neck and claim that a vampir bit them, but a bite mark is usually not so clean as a pin mark, so that can help you identify a faker. But there are also those out there who have actually vampiric teeth in a sense.. growing up with developing vampiric teeth... abnormally long eye-teeth... and there are some who go out and get them surgically fitted so that they are permanent... these two types might be able to pierce the skin of the neck without causing to much damage and cutting a major vein. But only to those who are willing to go through with the pain of having big sharp teeth going through your skin.. I personally would enjoy it but there are those who have supposed bite marks that are only faking it to show off to their friends or to be accepted into a certain group of friends. They are the ones that stick pins or such into thir necks... I think that it is rather pathetic myself when I see someone whos done that or someone I know who did it and told only me... but alas, there can be bite marks made without danger presented. And a real bite mark should show two larger indentions/ holes and some smaller ones for the teeth that surround your eye-teeth. And there would be a bruise... That would be a real bite mark...

The neck has the largest veins closest to the skin,
with no muscle to get in the way..
it makes a perfect place to sink your
teeth into.
Although,I've herd that the innerthigh,
is a good place too.

The human teeth can not bite into the flesh w/o leaving severe rips in the flesh, and it is very painful. The "holes" you saw were not made by a Vampire.

this is all very interesting on the comments, speaking from experence, mine are roughly 3/4 of an inch long, and i use a razor to open the "bite" for those whom want the marks, and then carefully work them into place, and for those whom use theirs to break the skin, dont that can also cause tearing, and noone wants to explain stitches on their throat

Biting is fun either in or out of a vampire context. Some people just enjoy being bitten and take pleasure from the pain that those of us enjoy inflicting. To respond to the original poster maybe those you encountered experienced just that.

If you ask a dentist or forensics specialists they’ll tell you everyone has a signature bite as everyones teeth are aligned differently just as a fingerprint is. But I do like Daermon’s idea of a signature bite better.

I really don't know anything about this biting stuff, except answering the original question with my thoughts

I don't want to get shot down in flames here but, some folk here are talking about big viens close to the surface etc and others are talking about cutting into them with razor blades ?

Do the razor cuts actually go down into the viens or just a little into the skin ?

If we are talking scars as far as the hole marks then it is posible to just have two hole marks as scars just where the skin was broken. Thes would not be just little hole but the with of the eye teeth. This would only be if there was not a strugle when the person was bitten else there would be scars where the flesh was torn because of the bite. If it is a new bite then it would not be just the two hole marks because like others have said unless the person has custom made fangs then there would also be impressions of the reset of the teeth. The bite would also bruse and be swollen like others have mentioned.

I don't know anything about bites either, I would have to say all those marks are created by the people themselves. Bites can get very infected I know I was my cousins favorite biting victim as a child. And he bit down so hard it was hard to pull him off of me. If Vampire bites were anything like those in the movie Interview with a Vampire then let me get bit!! Those bites were hot sexy and sensual V""V

Let's talk a little about bite marks, there is no way for the human mouth to leave to simple pinpricks where the canines would land. There would be evidence of the other teeth and swelling. Bruising is also present and deep bruises if bitten hard enough. Wow, did it just get hot in here?

also even with extrended canines, it is not a small tiny mark but a circular hole almost a centimeter across this would cause serious scarring, puffiness and redness around the wound, very similar to the holes left after a suspention peircing, you can look up pictures to see it

Elizabeth Wojdyla was bitten on the neck by a real vampire. A photograph of her wounds first appeared in Peter Underwood's The Vampire's Bedside Companion (Leslie Frewin, 1975) and the full story is given in Seán Manchester's The Highgate Vampire (BOS, 1985; Gothic Press, 1991). Seán Manchester
painted a portrait of this subject which can be visited online. A small photograph of the girl, including her neck wounds, can also be found at the foot of the page.

A person would have to razor sharp dental caps surgically placed on their teeth in order to penetrate the skin and only leave small pretty marks. Not something you can get done in the States with the new body modification laws. No doctor or dentist will do that for someone unless they don’t value their license and want to throw away their career.

i agree - definetely not vampire bites. could be insect bites, and once i had a snake bite that fitted the description. dont know what i bat bite would look like, but i've heard its a tiny pinprick that soon disapears. might possibly be hyperdermic needle marks, but personally, i think it's makeup.

Now that you mention bats, I was taking a walk one night and a bat came straight at me and crashed into my head. The animal control people told me to have someone look carefully because it may have bitten me and it would be hard to spot, because the bite can look like a pin prick

Dark Greetings,
I have been bitten while asleep and awake.I have bitten,I can assure you a bite leaves more than 2 pin pricks.I never fight it or try to pull away and it still leaves a mark it swells and can hurt.Just my 2 cents worth

I can bear testament to the fact that vampires do appear to be 'abroad', in London Town... Does that help?....;)

"If they were real vampires, i doubt they'd be showing off their bites." - coldDARKNESS

Nobody was "showing off their bites." The victim's experiences go back almost forty years. The marks on her neck were photographed by someone who was investigating the cause of her pernicious anaemia and eventually became convinced it was due to unearthly visitations. When traditional vampire precautions and antidotes were administered she recovered and the marks faded away. They resembled incisions made by a large insect or bat, but the cause was obviously something altogether more supernatural in origin. The same diabolical marks appeared on other victims of the predatory wraith.

you would think that for a vampire to truely feed off a neck that they would have to bite fairly deep to get the blood flowing at a good rate. My step daughter likes to bite my neck and she has vampire canine. but all her bites show her other teeth as well. Most victims only show the supposed fangs. Wonder why we never see any marks from the rest of the teeth.

in reply to Gotink - not if the saliva contained a natural antiseptic, or the victim has a strong resistence to infection - (i dont get an infection everytime my cat bites or scratches me) but that is a good point. yet another reason to suspect self inflicted wounds or makeup effects.

I bite, only I use my 2 sharpest teeth, one on top the other on the bottom, creating a scissors effect.

The puncture is exceptionally small, which draws a few drops of blood. After the bite it is 2 tiny marks literally touching each other, almost looking like an 8.

Just my 2 cents.

Try reading the thread...
that poster was referring to the original post rather obviously...
but again, most peoples teeth are not set up right to break skin in a two hole marking fashion, more likely the majority who try would leave a half moon marking with numerous points

The above commentators are talking about the vampire as though it were a living person and not a supernatural entity. Whenever you discuss these matters you always manage to expunge the paranormal aspect of the experience. Those who have encountered real vampires cannot excise this element.

If you want to talk about being bit, then lets talk about mosquitoes... ( sorry living in Japan we attacked by them on a nightly basis out here. lol.

And on a real note. I have had friends who had surgical fangs put in. And these acted as real teeth and were pretty sharp. Possibly even sharp enough to break skin.

Does anyone remember that CSI episode where this guy worked for a blood bank. And he had surgical fangs. Well he led a fantasy life and was overwhelmed when he met the victim. A beauty who belonged to a vampire coven. Apparently he stalked her and bit her.. His teeth were so sharp that he hit an artery and she bled out.

I am no one to say that there are no "real" Vampires out there like the one's we read about. Just for me realistically if this did happen as mentioned they were probably messing around with someone who had fangs surgically placed.

Many young members of the tribe of Naelyan have woken me in the night complaining of a dream in which someone had bitten them. They have all grown up to be vampires but there are also people that they have bitten that became vampires but the bites looked similiar to your basic humans toothmarks. I am not really sure how it usually works but I had nearly the same dream but I am still not a vampire.

I have been to a vampire meeting where the two insisions are made in the neck by a needle like instrument and then the individual is passed to drink from. The whole think is very clean and very safe as all are tested and are a very..very close pack.

I would have to agree. Very impossible and childish games. If you actually got bit it would be a big oval mark more than likley. And vampires these days are more than likley to use more steryl methods like blades.

in this day and age it is quite difficult to bite someone without anyone thinking it was an
animal.or if someone crzy bit them and if they have a disease.
so in my own opinion vampires that still live today exercise more caution when feeding or turning anyone they so choose.
however hollywood has perverted the image of vampyrism so badly that when people hear the term vampyre they think,
tm cruise/lestat,blade/wesley snipes,armand/antonio banderas.etc....
so in retrospect i say that if someone claims to be bitten by a vampire and have two holes in their neck keep and open mine but also find out if it is all true or just a shamfull joke.
