i believe how u look depends how what type of vampire you are where you are from i guess

to see what they look like take a look in the mirror and yes we have reflections

I think it all depends on the person who is describing the vampire.

It seems to be that everyone already has the defining answers to this question... We as a species are vampiric by our very nature.... We use or utilize anything everything we can concieve..... as a classification of animal we are generalists.

They come in all shapes and seizes... some wear hats, some do not.... some like to lurk around graveyards, others roam the living... you probably actually know a vampire that you just dont know their secret yet....

Other than looking determand , I would not think their looks would change. There would appear human.

I beleive they stay the same, as when I feed (I am psy vampire) well I keep my same aspect, nothign changes if worst to wrst maybe my eye color but then again its only the shade.

Like any hybrid, I believe there are different phylums to each vamp. Some are full-fledged, teeth bared and bat-like while others may blend in with humankind. Consider lizards, for example -- they are all lizards in essence but appearances vary according to evolutionary and environmental differences.

i personally believe that vampires do not change. but that is my opion. that doesnt mean there arent vamps who do change

i believe they keep the look they had when they are changed but are able to show a morphed like face when feeding

Well I think too many believe there is the whole Claudia thing.. But why would your looks change.. If you had bad eyesight it would improve I would think, If you had Anemia wouldn`t you get a vast supply of red blood cells....

As for changing appearance, I think that is a load of bullshit, and to me it seems like someone has been watching too much Buffy. As for any changes, I guess the eyes would change...

To help us blend in, true we are paler that "normal" people, and we tend to have visible fangs, but for me the way to see a vampire is through the eyes, as that is where the soul lies

If we are talking mythical and fictional vampires then they look like whatever your imagination can dream up.
Real vampires look human because they are human. Some may seem more pale than your then the average person but not any more than anyone else that avoids the sun.

I think they remain in the human form. When they "bite" I think there eyes roll back some, and there face may distort some. But all in all, they remain the same.

In my most artistic image of a vampire I would like to think they change, but in my reality as it is for me they do not. I think many people live vampiric lives and most of the people around them never even know. However we choose to carry ourselves the way we want people to perceive who we are and sometimes dress the part.

While I may dress all in black I dress western not gothic not your stereotypical modern vampire dress and not because I want to blend in because I definatly stand out in a crowd.

Like Billy said, very scary before that first cup of coffee! and what else was already mentioned, just look in the mirror and look at all our pictures on this site - basically anyone can be something they do not appear to be while walking down the street, in line at the store, in the library.... who knows what that person really is?

I've never yet heard of a vampire changing appearance to feed so I'm going to go with they remain the same

it is quite possible for the eyes to change color mine do just by my mood I dont know what color they are when I feed cause Ive never looked in a mirror while feeding and no one has ever commented to me about it.

Hell, I can look like a whole different person just because I am angry. I do not change but my facial expressions do. In the old Hammer films Christopher Lee's eyes would turn red and he would bare his fangs, but that would be the only change he made.

I do not believe their basic appearance as a human would change. They may appear more hungry or determined than the average person but not less human.

well i don't change form when i feed on my gf... and she doesn't when she feeds off of me... so obviously i do not change and neither does she....

I turn into a big black bat with long wide wings and razor sharp teeth....NOT!! LOL, gosh Hollywood bullshit. Vampires look like you and me normal except for maybe the goth gear and always wearing black lol. I will say that the true vamps on this site seem to all be very sexy and enticing, like my wife for example heheh.

I totally agree with crying dutchess... i think fangs come, but thats all. maybe the eyes roll because of the ecstacy of it but like face changing like on buffy... i dont think. in fact that was the one thing about buffy i didnt like.

Oh a lot of ppl mentioning the eyes changing color. I don't know about mine but my wife eyes get really light brown when she feeds from me and it kinda creep me out at first LOL. I guess it happens because she gets really turned on and the rush of excitement. Hmm I would like to hear someone else opinion on that too.

I am glad to have posted this thread, It seems we all agree that vampires for the most part dont change even when feeding.

I have another way of looking at vamps. I was telling a friend....Vampires do look human but there is something different about them that cant be seen but rather felt strongly. Those that truly practice vampirism have a certain essence about them that can be felt and it draws others like them to them. I use my wife as a good example, even though she wasnt the first I felt it from. I didn't meet my wife on this site or on any vamp site or at a vamp club but when I saw her I could see and feel there was something different about her. After dating her for a few weeks the conversation about vampires came up and sure enough she shared with me that she was into vampirism deep and she even showed me a few books she had read on the subject. She also confessed she felt it in me when we met also. I think humans can feel it when in our presence too but I wonder how strongly...

I think we look like whatever race we are. I am sure we all change in appearance, but many things can do this. Someone that is enraged will appear different than if they are grief stricken, or sorrowful. Or look into the eyes of a newborn child, then into the eyes of the mother that just bore him. Appearance is ilrelevant really, its what is behind the masks we put on that truly shows us, and how wicked man really is or can be rather.

It really does depend on the person.. But they dont look any different from any other human( that is what I believe)

My personal opinion is this:

Mythical vampires are going to look one of two ways:
Either A) the way you, the reader have perceived him/her/them to look, or B) the way the make-up artist has perceived him/her/them to look

AND

REAL vampires are going to look however their genetic mix determines they look. There shouldn't be any change (take into consideration any facial expression during feeding, of course) unless it's a matter of perception.

The vampires I know appear as normal humans, and do not change appearance when hunting or feeding. Their expressions change as their moods or emotions do, but that is all.

Actually I believe that to be true, for the reason that their energy has changed... not the person. So look around you, observe the fluctuations of the energy in those you work and live with.

The more aware you are to this energy, the easier it will be to spot a vampire that is looking or in need of a "fix".

I agree with Chrisg, humans cannot have a different physical appearance no matter what and since vampires have the same physical features i think they will be indistinguishable if they were lined up with their mouths closed...

I honestly don't think they change... in order to change they would need a different bone structure for their face and I have read nothing that says vampirism changes any bones at all.

I think that we stay in human form to fit in with the humans around us and have adapted to do so.

Vampires look just like eveybody else. That is why the can disappear at will and there is little eveidence of their existance other then stories.

But like most predatory creatures the have aspecific look on their "face" when they are consumed by the hunt.

Vampires have a human apperance we live normal lifespans and normal lives and have never, at any point in our physical life, died and risen from the grave.

the way a vampire looks varries by clan, those who hail from the clan same say dracula would look normal, those of the same as nosferatu look monsterous, the same works with their dark gifts or vampiric abilities, it all varries by clan. a vampire does not change form when feeding, unless they had a shapeshifting dark gift, in which case the change is by choice not force.

How to properly look like a vamp

all of the vamps i know look just like you or me but i have heard them talk of some changing by choies to ether gain control by fear or to gain trust by looking more peaceful and welcoming

They look the same as anyother person and i don't mean they are all carbon copys i mean they look like humans only better haha

well.. For me they are really really fair skinned, seductive and they like anything that is color red, just like blood.. attracted to it..

Silly, just look for the tee shirt that says, "I'm a vampire." In traffic, the bumper sticker will point them right out. In your neighborhood, it's the guy with blackout curtains and bat topiaries.

they only change in the movies i think the only thing that changed before they feed would be their eyes other then that they look normal

my personal opion on this subject is.... we do not change our appearance; or at least not like the movies make it out to be. our eyes could change i guess, can't really say for sure cause i have yet to see my own eyes before the taste of blood.

I think they look human for the most part, but with subtle differences. Very romantic, seductive, a essence about them that just draws you in. When feeding, yes, they change somewhat, they are taking in the very life essence of someone, sharing something sacred.... When the thirst hits, I know i change, the first is my eye color....

I would think that they look like the rest of us... wearing dark clothes and most likely be wearing too much makeup.

I believe in my opinion that Vampires blend in with society as to not be sited and revealed... WE try to look like everyone one else.. why try to stand out and then be ostrasized for what you are adn what you believe in?
So i think we all look like everyone else.. with our own thougths adn opinions and feelings and our own ways of life and life styles.

in my own idea or opinion vampires look just like us, why would they have two appearances when if their "true appearance" might frighten our victim and i know i like my victim relaxed

I think it depends on the vampire and their personnality,i know i get a more intense glare in my eyes but i feed on animal blood,but it also depends on how long ive gone with out feeding and how bad the blood lust gets.

Ahhhhh Hollywood yet again intercedes into the real life. No, I don't believe that their facial features change as they do in Buffy and Angels series or in any of the millions of movies. I think that is partly what is so scary. They are normal looking for all intense purposes and remain that way through feeding.

I have been told my eye colour changes a bit. And in the past have noticed my partners whole expression takes on a different look, more passionate and fierce..for lack of better word here.
