When my first son was born we lived in a small triplex right off of a major highway. Of the many toys in his room he had a small steering wheel with buttons that made different sounds when you pushed them. The sounds included ignition, horn, clicking, and the wheel would vibrate. That's it.
One day I heard strange music playing from his toy box. Curious I searched until I found the source, the steering wheel. I pushed every button and the music continued. Not like from a radio, but something you would hear from a child's toy. And yes I am sure of the source. But that particular toy was not designed to play any kind of music. Eventually it stopped.
I told my mother about it, and of course she laughed at me. The next time it happened I called her and she heard the music over the telephone, she admitted it was unlike anything she had ever heard.
I believe the toy only did this one more time, shortly after we moved to a bigger place. To this day the toy has never acted up again, I keep it put up. I am just unable to throw it away.
Opinions? Similar stories?

wow that is a curious story. i would have thrown that toy away lol. Could it have been the batteries? sometimes when the batteries die, toys make strange noises.. or even if the batteries are melting from the inside out (usually u shouldnt store things with batteries in them for that reason, i learned that the hard way it malfunctions the mechanisms)

Ive only had one thing happen to me. i was living in a house with a few friends over the summer. the house always felt strange to me, like there was always something else there. one afternoon, i was cleaning up the kitchen and i heard music playing in one of the bedrooms. (the way the house was set up, the kitchen was at one end, the bedroom was past the living room, down the hall and to the right. so the total other end of the house. ) I was home alone. when i went looking for the sound, i saw that my roomies clock radio was playing. i went to turn it off and it wouldnt turn off. so I went to unplug it and it was all ready UNPLUGGED. as soon as i noticed that it was unplugged the music stopped.

I left the house for the rest of the day lol.

I use to live in the sticks in a little country home. In that bathroom we would always hear voices and movement. When I moved from there I brought a wooden medicine cabinate with me from that bathroom. Strangely enough I couldn't find a place for it and my boyfriend told me it gave him the chills so we decided to burn it in the fireplace. When we did a face came out in the flames. Freaked both of us out.

If there is a toy misbehaving outside of its regular functions... i would get ride of it and sue the company for emotional damages that you incurred because of its supernatural capabilities..

Then again, maybe just call the manufactures and say this is what happened and is that normal? I for one throw away all sets of instructions for any given object and perhaps that could explain the music.

I, of course, always look for the scientific / logical answer.

The manufacturer use a sound chip with more sounds in memory than needed and a circutry issue made the "hidden" sound play. Alarm clock radios often have battery back-ups and it was just time for he alarm to stop or the battery died....

The medicine cabinet...I've got nothing! One thing, however, if I were going to burn something I thought was "possesed" or contained a channel to something evil...I would do it OUTSIDE! I wouldn't want whatever heebegeebee that escaped to be in my house!

I'd like to agree with KCRC on the manufacturer defect, but that is definitely a strange one... If I had a toy doing that, I would throw it out before it took over the house and stabbed the family with rubber chickens or something.

Seriously, though, that is a bit freaky.

I was a first time mom so I was super rigid about keeping the papers and mailing in the warranty cards that came with all toys. I called the company and they couldn't explain it. I even tried different remote controls thinking a signal may have activated something in the sound chip but never found anything. I also thought of the battery thing, I learned that from babysitting, so I changed the batteries after it did it the first time. It never scared me, I just found it odd.

Maybe it was the ghost of a child trying to contact you. I have had some of my kids toys do weird things like that. I hate when a talking toy says some thing you know is it not supost to say. It's wicked creepy! Oh and my radios go all crazy on me too. TV's too. Maybe it's just me.

I've run across things I couldn't immediately explain. I almost always start taking things apart and find the answer, only not being able to put it back together.

There have been a couple of things I couldn't find a reasonable answer to, though.....

Yikes! That toy would have hit the circular file before the tune ended!!! I haven't had a toy mysteriously play music, but one of our alarm clocks seems to have a mind of it's own. It will be set for six am, go off, and then go off at like 8:30 at night. No one has touched it, except to turn it off. It really is funny, because it still startles us. I don't think it is haunted, but it is strange.

is it an old toy maybe it belonged to some other little kids before that may have passed away or he/she may have passed while living where it happend ya never know

thats creepy but cool. I knwo my mum said once my older sis had had a doll that was supposed to stay on the shelf bc it ws one of those china faced ones or something. Either way it always ended up in her cot. of course georgina was too young to have moved it or even reached it. She was only 9 months. And it wasnt our father either.......spoooooky hehe

my son's aunt gave him a small toy- a motorcycle with Bert and Ernie on it...it never really worked very well (she got it at the flea market). One day I was straightening out his room when I heard the oddest noise...
I kept poking around the room, putting stuff away as I went, until I looked under the bed and saw the motorcycle. I picked it up, and it was growling....it was only supposed to talk in bert and ernie's voice, but here it was, growling at me- I threw the thing in the trash can by the side of the street- it spooked me badly

I have had a couple things strange happen actually... On occasion I can hear small children laughing and sometimes a baby crying... But no small kids or babies in the house... And the other day i was home alone and the tv in my daughters room came on by itself.. there bedroom door will open all the time on its own.

I would have thrown the toy outside and made sure it was so far it would never be heard.
I had a thing like htat once, it was hang on the wall I threw it outside, the next morning the garbage look like a war zone, and when I when to thriow it out I felt a bad thing following me and scaring the shit out of me.

i hate telling this story people tend to roll their eyes cause of the toy involved. But when those Furbys first came out I got my hubby to go get me one. Yes i know alot of stories about them.

We got it home.. played with it fed it like your supposed to ( pushing its lil tounge down to acitvae a "learning" sensor lol) It always did weird things.. they ar enot just supposed to start talking and certian things are "learned" responsed to certian actions.. like it has a certian thing to say when you turn it upside down fast and "scare" it.
Its only supposed to do that then. Or if you move it a ceritan way it will say somehting liek Dance.. Boggie..

I awalys thought it was my cat bumping it or something till we changed rooms at the ranch we lived on when I had it.

No cats in the new room.. but every freaking moreing at 3:00 am it would do its happy upside down squeal and shot Dacce.. Party.. boogie till some one "fed" it.

I later learned its supposed to turn on like that when something activates its motion thing.. but only my hubby and I were in the room and were we dead asleep.. the furby was sitting on a shely about 5 and a half feet off the ground so nothing could really pass in front of it.

It never freacked me out as much as annoyed me... mmm and odd my hubby just pointed out if I fell asleep on the sofa or for wahtever reason was not htere it did not "wake up" lol

I wa snot to sad when our puppy decided to burry that toy lol

I've never had something like that happen to me. I've of the mind that I would have gotten rid of the toy or object. As far as the person who burned the cabinet indoors, you're lucky it was possessed by something that decided to stay. Creepy.

Very strange story. I think I would have also thrown away the toy. I do believe there could be supernatural explanations, but I agree it was probally a clitche in the manufacturing of the toy.

I'm sure you can look at it from a scientific way but unless you take it apart and can experiment on it you really aren't going to find an answer electric things do some weird things for weird reasons. if you are going to look at it from a spiritually point you would need to be in the room and do a lot of tests but since you don't live there any more there is no way to tell

a friend of mine once had a dark man come out of his closet and stand at the foot of his bed till he woke up and saw it and would scream for his mother to come when she got there the man would turn around and go back in the closet. So they went into the closet during the day to find out what was going on and found a piece of wood boarding up a hole in the back wall when they removed it found out it was a ouiji board they took it out to the wood pile to burn it everything burned but the board so they smashed it then it burned.

I had a friend who had worked for toys are us here in SJ. He worked the graveyard shift, where things would move on there own toys turned on and off, and played around all by there selves. It was also said the people could hear kids laughter as well as running up and down aisles. It got so bad that people would upon being hired would tell the perspective employees the place was haunted.

a childs toy, personally I would have thrown it out but that would have been a reflex reaction.

I believe in the paranormal and spirits trying to connect with us, but personally I like for them to connect with people other than myself so I would not have kept the toy

very intresting.. back home at times when i am alone i would hear a male voice call my name.. i know i am alone but i walk through my whole house any way and find no one.

I have never heard of a childs toy steering wheel being possessed but I suppose it is possible.

When my family moved to California there was an apartment that no one would live in. My parents being hard headed wanted to live there. It was a nice place. So everything was fine for a little bit..then one day we all woke up and found M&M's made into smiley faces. All of my family swore that we hadnt done it(my family is big on swearing. If you swear and you lie..its a big thing). Well after talking to some people in the apartment complex the story of why no one wanted to move in came out.
About 10 years or so before hand..a single mother used to live in the apartment. She was..as you could say...friendly to the male population. Everytime someone would come over she would put her children on the patio. Well something happened to the children and they had died. Supposedly they still hung around the apartment. It seemed a little weird to us but we kept the story in the back of our head for years. Everytime we would leave something like M&Ms out, in the morning...there would be a smiley face made out of them.

I truly believe that objects can be 'impressed' by the beings that come in to contact with them. They pick up strong emotions and sometimes imprints of the people themselves. The universe doesn't always know what to do with those impressions. They often manifest in very strange ways.

yes I have with a ragdoll with a rabbits head after months of moving itself around my livingroom it mysteriously disappeared...

We have crap all the time happen at our house. From footsteps, to feeling something with you, bouncy balls hitting the walls...all sorts of crap. I was at a friends house once and a toy went off playin crap in a drawer...toy had no batteries. Then the telephone cord(hanging phone) starting swinging....alot!
I can almost believe anything is possible.
Could have been something in the home or just a lil computer chip in toy goin freaky. lol

there are shadow people in my apartment and we hear them a lot but they dont bother us

its totally not unheard of. i'm not sure why, but i've researched this kinda thing some, and its just one of those things u cant really explain scientifically........

I have one story that happened nearly 2 yr's ago. I was in Sydney doing a promtion course (i am in the army)...I was listerning to my radio (a game of rugby league was on) and sms-ing my wife. I went to go out of my room and everytime i went out the door I would here an asian woman singing a mourning song. I entered my room again and it stopped. This went on about three times.
Around the same time I was trying to findout why I have a strong pulling towards Genis Khan..that night I went to sleep and I dreampt of me dying in the arms of an asain lady...she was singing this song that I have been hearing....since I had this dream I havent heard this song again, I think the song was a linking of me in the Gangus Kane era and I died in the arms of this lady and she sang this song...

That situation is crazy... not in a bad way though more of a surprise. I think the area you lived in had a child like presence hanging around. I have had a similar experiance though... when I was in high school I was spending the night at a friends house one night. We were chit chatting in her room when we heard a noise that sounded like someone talking... I was loud enough that we knew it was coming from her room so we began our search... low and behold a teddy bear that had once belonged to her great grand mother was the culprit. we both to this day think it was her GGMa talking to her.

Even since I moved to the house I am residing in now I have been living with Isolated Sleep Paralysis. I wake up with an inhibility to move, which can last up to thirty minutes. At times it is extremely terrifying and I sense that there is something in the room with me, but I can't doing anything because my body is still sleeping even though my mind is alert.
I am not sure what to really make of it at times I feel as though I have been visited by a succubus but more often then not it feels like the presence of an incubus.

I am moving for many reasons to many strange things happen in this house, and I am not uncomfortable in the slightest.

At times I see something moving in the reflections of the windows or out of the corner of my eye, when I am the only one home.

My basement light turns on by itself almost everyday. I make a note to turn it off when I leave in the morning, when I return home and when I go to bed but it seems to be always on.

I have had the same microwave for the past four years and early one morning I went to check the time and the display read Child. Now some have suggested maybe it has a child saftey lock but it doesn't and the hour before that when I check it it only displayed the time and I was the only one up.

I wake up in the middle of the night thinking my son isn't breathing and low and behold when I check on him he isn't, so I give him a little shake and call out his name and he begins breathing again. He is four years old. We have only lived here for nine months....


Toys creep me out....

i would get rid of it hun.children have such innocent energies that sometimes they draw dark energies to them in some form.throw it out!

This is interesting. I myself have never had anything like that happen. I think it is odd that the toy played a sound it was designed to. Sounds to me like a spirit or other weird anomaly.

maybe you just had a little ghostie kid having some fun. :) it certainly is very strange.. i've heard of those things happening but never had it happen to me myself.

Ive heard of a story simmilar.
A woman bought her son a toy car and it took two double A batteries. She was the only one home and she heard a rolling comming from his room. She looked under neath the bed and saw it moving. When she reached for it, it stopped. She looked to see if there were any batteries in it and there wasnt

I was in Florida for a vacation once and I was walking around on the beach and I bumped into this guy who was what I would call a vampire looking guy. Yeah this was at night. I said I was sorry and he smiled at me then I went back to my room and onto my back balcony which was facing the beach and he was still down there and he waved at me. Then I left the next day to go to Michigan....Funny thing. I ran into him again at Lake Michigan. And after Michigan I ended up going to Salem, beautiful town. And what do you know....There he is.

wow, creepy. I've never had a toy come alive or anything but a friend of mine had this toy dinosaur (one of those pull-string talkers) and it was supposed to say a couple things but it says something new every time & always really slow and deep even though the character has a high voice. the slow part might be that the string goes in too slowly, but I cant think of why it would say strange things...

Sometimes certain objects can be "haunted" just like a person or place.

the objects can either be haunted or you or family members are moving them with their minds also known as telekinetics

I lived with some friends that had a stereo that would turn on and off by itself especially during really bad songs. We found out that the house we lived in was haunted by a young(late teens- early 20's) that had committed suicide. After that, we stopped freaking out and asked the spirit to keep the stereo off when we were asleep. Amazingly, it worked.

Personally, I prefer to go with the dying batteries explanation as to why it did what it did.

My whole street is supposed to be built on a Victorian graveyard, there used to be extremely odd sounds in all of the houses, we just put it down to plumming etc...I haven't heard those noises in quite some time now

i think we are drawn to strange happening or are they drawn to us. it does happen but it depends on if u can have an open mind and see that these things can and do happen

interesting indeed I have two kids and have had one of there toys that acted up my daughter said it was her friend doing it I have yet to see her friend but I do belive her I have seen her talking and playing with this friend all the time and no it is not the invisable friend type thing she has told me of relatives that have past years befor she was born when I ask her her told her that she says its her friend

The toy could have a defect and it only acted up that one time you should take it and put it back in the toy box and see if it does it again...

my daughter had a doll when she was little that would just start laughing every now and then even when no one was around it so I figured it was faulty wiring or something of the sort till we took the batteries out of it and it still did it we ended up throwing the doll out cause it freaked her out to much.

You know you may find a medium to feel the toy , and find out what or where the music come from...

I had a simlilar occurance with a model firetruck....it was a model that was built by my father...it was not electronic in any way....just plastic, stickers and some glue.....but sometimes I would see the lights flashing in the dark as I passed by often followed by a small scent of smoke...

Its good that you had got rid of the toy.
Maybe you should have your house blessed now...

i have never had anything like this happen to me but im already creeped out by someof your stories.. i know if i had a toy making starnge noises it wouldnt be in my house very long.... ther ehas to be reasonable explantions for all these events

I have to say that it is a truly weird story, I have only had a few experiences with the paranormal, but they could easily be explained if I took the time to think about it. To start off, we live in a fairly old and big house. Somtimes my parents will leave for work and my sister is sitting on the couch so I am able to see her at all times, and we hear foot steps coming down the hall. Like I have said, we are the only ones in the house. Second creepy thing that has happened, was something that happened with my mom's cell phone. She had the keys locked one day so that it couldn't be bumped and call someone accidentily. We heard it beep and thought that it must need to be charged. I went and picked up the phone and the screen was full of six's. I thought that maybe it could have been bumped or something may have been set down on it, but like I have said, the keys were locked. It was pretty creepy, I do not know what could have caused the screen to fill with six's, the keys were locked, unless the phone malfunctioned.
