i am very interested in haunting and i would love to hear of local hauntings and the stories behind them

Their is a house caled the franklin castle that is not to far away from me in cleveland ohio where all kinds of weird things happend in that house from what is told..Their where murders, suicides, deaths..They said that music would play when no one else was in the house people would hear noises when they would go into the house and when they would look around no one would be in the house to make the noises and the house caught on fire atleast 4 or 5 times..

i lived in a house in memphis, and there was some dark floating mass that scared the shit out of me. i ran and never looked back.

Not to far from where i lived in Tn theres a town to go to that might interest you. But you have to get permission to go see it first. Chapel Hill - Chapel Hill Light - There is a railroad crossing where many people have reported a strange, unexplainable light on the tracks. Supposedly a railroad worker was killed, becoming decapitated, many years ago. The light is said to be him swinging a lantern looking for his head. Police don't allow people to park around the tracks anymore though. Then in Monteagle TN there are apts you should visit called Fairmont Apts.

i have two right close to where i live at. one is the ruines of an old tower that was built in the mid 1700s and its only an hour away. the other is a mental hospital but used to be a campus of a college that is right here in town.

there a house here in really that still has the police tape around it from the 60's.... they say 4 cops died in that house investagating...(i cant spell) but yeah they say its haunted.. they dont even wanna get close enouf to get ride of it...lol

The Traverse City State Hospital is about 40 minutes from my house. It's said to be one of the most haunted places in Michigan. It's all closed down now, but people often see faces in the windows. And they're too afraid to tear the buildings down.

There's a society here in Toronto that collects information on hauntings AND does some investigative work as well...they're called the Toronto Ghosts and Hauntings Research Society...they have a website...

There is a place here in Glen Mills that used to be a restaurant called The Crier in The Country. It's a big old Colonial building and it is DEFINITELY haunted.

There was a post about this not long ago....But live very close to Salem. I will tell you of many hauntings in my area later.

man, there are a ton of places in New Orleans. I don't know where to begin. Although there is a bar my wife & I used to enjoy that is closed that was pretty haunted called the Tricou house on Bourbon Street. I'll have to look up the story & post it later

In Urbana where I am at it is said there is a wall in the school that has to be painted all the time cause the paint just peals off. Also there is a tower in our school that is closed off. There is a door to it somewhere. It is said that a teacher killed herself in the tower cause she had fallen in love with a student. There is a nursing home here that has alittle boy named johnny that the old people see before they get ready to die. Man i could go on and on.

Theres a graveyard across from my house, & theres this certain grave that looks like it had a rib cage carved into it...Apparently it's an old soldier & his grave was hit by lightning, it's a long time ago since I heard this story & cant remember much about it, but I've seen the grave myself, it is very creepy looking at how realistic it looks

In potsdam NY there were a series of houses owned at one time by a family called the Sissons. Most of which are believed to be haunted. There are known underground tunnels beneath the town because the sissons had a lot of "secrets" and so they were rarely seen in town. They were forced inbreeders and there were some crazy things that happened. In one of the main houses a girl commited suicide because she didnt want to marry her uncle, some years later a travelling salesman disappeared from the very room she died in. The door was locked from the inside. if you read "Haunted places of NY" it delves a bit more into it.

There is a cemetery right next door to my home, its segregated , and extremely old. There are graves there from the sixteen hundreds i believe. A friend of mine went with his brother one night and took flash pictures of random things in the dark, Im not sure how or why but there were either misty figures or round aura looking spheres in every photo. I am not sure if these things are just a trick on the eye or actual spirits but I know that you can definantly feel a very heavy presence when you enter the cemetery.

there is a place in Yonkers NY on the Hudson river that was a whaling station and then a lead factory that is so haunted you can feel the energy of the building before you can see it, They call it Hells gates because it has two main buildings that resemble giant gaits

I once lived in a house that had a very tall man that was dressed in a suit. That always looked at me and even though I never heard him talk I could feel and see what he did. He always cried out for two little girls. That I am guessing that were killed by a car that hit then. I looked into it when I was younger but could never find out anything about them two girls. As for the man all I know is that an man had died in that house and that was around 1920 or 1923 he was like 70 or maybe 75 years of age but no name or anything was found. So I don't ever go to that house but my grandparents live across the street.
Ghost

Well lets see in my neck of TN we have the Stones River Battlefeild where over 6000 men died. The energies there are intense. On some days even you can see shadows.

Weve also got the Bell Witch, do a googlemsearch theres a ton on her.

there was a place near me, but they tor it down. but anyways it was haunted by a family that was killed there by their husband and father. two girls where killed in their bedroom. blood splatter all over the walls. people have tried wallpapering over it, tried painting over it, but the blood stains kept soaking through them both. the mother/ wife was killed down stairs in the living room. went there one day with a friend and the couch was tipped over, we went up stairs to the girls room to see the blood stains on the walls and for sure there it was. one whole wall covered in blood. no one else was there but us, when we came down stairs to the living room where the couch was it was sitting up right were you could then sit on it. very freaky, but yet very cool to experince it.

My family live right at the side of the clarion hotel, which is on the list of Englands top haunts, they also have ghost nights and have incorporated it into hotel packages -.-
You can apparently summon dark beings there, apparently many MANY local people though have only encountered ghosts, many wearing victorian apparel, right near there is an old windmill next to a very long stretch of path called the silkin way each side surrounded by forest and woodland, i'm into paranormal but don't necessarily believe in it all, but the old windmill is quite a scary place, lots of bad violent things have happened there, whether its because its haunted by dark energy or it just attracts the wrong kind of people, it is truly terrifying.

There's an old summer school near to wear i live, it caught on fire years ago and alot of kids died. It's said to be haunted and i have been in there loads of times on dare's and to basically be an idiot and have fun, there were times when i thought i saw something moving among the shadows and heard noises that wern't from any living person there. I often felt something watching me as did other people, but no real proof that there are actual hauntings there.

As i have not been living in the area i am in for that long I have not really heard of any haunted places nearby, however, I am aware of ghosts constantly passing through my own home so there must be something near me....i will have to find out more LOL.

there is a place called gurgaon 5 kms from my place where there is a mansion now empty and where a couple used to live. they were killed by someone there 10 years ago. now noone even dares to go near that house particularly at night because people say that their soul is still there and nearby people can hear peculiar noises in the night inside.

many years ago when i lived near an OLD walk in theater i would pass it each time i ran errands 4 my mom.........i was horrified to find out at 14 that 18 people had met their deaths in this place due to a pissed off former employee,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,even now at age 50 I still get chills thinking of this story,,,,,,,,,,My close friend shirley and I were double dared to enter on halloween eve and stay in this so called haunted theater well, she didnt last but 2 hrs, me however being either a dork or a fool i sat there listening to the blood curdling screams and wild goins on almost all night......................ive never regretted it because ive been clairvoyent my whole life and i was true to form that night,,,,,,,,,,IT WAS ASS KICKIN AND ID DO IT AGAIN TOMORROW,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,LOL

where i use to live it was believed the house next to mine was haunted because the owner killed his family in it and then hanged himself in the back yard it was 514 5th street conway ar

the house i used to lived in was haunted there was this couple that lived there a long time ago and the ppl that rented me the house said that he went crazy one night and slaughter his wife 3 son & 3 doughter's and every night i swear to you i heard foot step's waling up and down the stare's.

I forgot to mention DIA, Denver International Airport....They built this large and lovely airport on indian burial grounds....They had a shaman come out and settle the spirits...We had several opening days due to unexplained activity going on....My husband built concourse C and worked in the United hanger, he said he felt a bit uneasy at times... I'm sure there are a lot of unsettled spirits on the grounds of Columbine High School.. My husband also constructed the library as well.. Said he felt strange things.. I live in Chicago right now and there is a pub called Excalibar, that is supposed to be haunted.It was on one of those Halloween specials last years on telly.But I have not had the time to go check it out.

i live in england - you can't kick a stone without it hitting a ghost. within five minutes walk from my house is a pub that is reputed to be haunted. there have been several suicides and a murder there, and it's reputed to be cursed. my friends lived there for a year, and though they did not see a ghost, we have taken several photographs showing orbs.

the place where i work just around the corner is also haunted. several people have reported hearing footsteps and voices when they have been there alone. it has a very uncomfortable atmosphere, and i have often glimpsed figures out of the corner of my eye, or just walking past quickly, but nobody is there. once, i heard someone chuckle right behind me - but there was nobody around. on one occasion, we had trouble getting into the office in the morning, because the cupboard by the door, just inside the office was over the edge of the door. this could not have been done without someone being inside the office, and there is no other way out.

In the 1890s, an eccentric but well-intentioned character of distinction named Danby Gifford cut a well-known figure on the streets of Liverpool. An incurable insomniac, Danby, or "Dashing Dan" as he was known, would leave the 380-roomed North Western Hotel on Lime Street each night, and patrol the midnight streets, armed with a silver gilt-handled malacca sword stick and .22-calibre two-shot Derringer, said to be the very same pistol that Wilkes shot Lincoln with, won from a riverboat gambler in the American South.
At midnight, on 16 August, 1894, a full moon hung over Lime Street. Dan Gifford passed the hotel receptionist - who was busy in conversation with a young female guest - and strolled out of the lobby and into the moonlit thoroughfare, in search of adventure. With his silk top hat, flowing satin-lined cape, and twirling swordstick, Gifford presented an impressive sight. His white, waxed moustache, turned up and twisted into finely tapered ends, and his silver bejewelled tie-pin, gave him the air of someone of importance; perhaps a retired brigadier or judge. Even at that late hour, Lime Street was still busy with scurrying hansom cabs and people coming from the train station. The Empire Theatre had long emptied and an actor was leaving by the stage door. Outside the Legs of Man, a lady of the night propositioned Mr Gifford, and he became incensed at the idea. Waving his swordstick aloft, Gifford's face turned purple.
'How dare you!' he growled, but the petite blonde streetwalker folded her arms defiantly and grinned mockingly right into his mad eyes.
'Alright grandpa, I never asked for your hand in marriage,' she said, then walked towards a staggering sailor on London Road.
'The wages of sin is death!' Gifford ranted at her, then crossed over to St George's Plateau, feeling highly offended. He wanted damsels in distress, not some brazen scarlet woman. He looked down on such specimens of kerbstone Liverpool.
Two young shabbily dressed men in flat caps suddenly emerged from behind the base of one of the four lion statues. One had a cosh. 'If you shout I'll break your skull old man,' said one of the delinquents, while the other took hold of Gifford's arm. The old man drew his sword from the stick in an instant and swung its blade at the cosh-wielding youth with such ferocity, sparks flew off its tip when it struck the statue's plinth. The youth holding Gifford's arm received a kick to his groin, but at the same moment, the other mugger struck the aged adventure seeker's forehead. 'Curse you, you blackguard!' Gifford, staggered in a daze, with his back to the huge silhouetted hulk of St George's Hall. At least he still had the sword, and he walked backwards up the stairs as the two thugs closed in. The blow to his head had affected his balance. He fumbled in his coat for the Derringer pistol, but couldn't find it. The two young ruffians rushed up the steps, and Gifford fell. He saw one of the criminals raise the cosh, ready to hit his head, but the assailant hesitated and turned.
The blonde streetwalker who had approached Gifford earlier was rushing up the steps. She screamed a string of profanities at the men, and one of them darted away. The remaining attacker was suddenly floored with an uppercut to his chin from the woman. The prostitute knelt besides Gifford, and, after telling him he shouldn't have been walking about so late, she produced a handkerchief and dabbed his grazed forehead. She then accompanied him back to the hotel before vanishing back into the night.
Dashing Dan's attitude towards the street women changed, and after making enquiries about the woman's identity, he learned that her name was Maggie May and that she lived in Mann Street. He visited the hovel where she existed, and found her with two ragged young children. Gifford gave her money and flowers for saving his life, and Maggie was tearfully thankful.

Dashing Dan of Lime Street was involved in many adventures in Victorian and Edwardian Liverpool, and I will relate some of the perils, romances and crusades of the silvery-haired top-hatted knight in the near future.

The tunnel green, in Wheeling, WV. And the near by cemetery. They both are on the internet under haunted places in Wheeling. People don't like to go into the tunnel, which is on a walking path now, after dark. Too many voices, lights, scary sh*t!

I live in a haunted house.... I dont have the story behind them so ill just tell u what happens.. in my basement.. theres this little Boy (well I think its a boy) who peeps through the windows... the only real time u see him is through the corner of ur eye.. then hes gone... theres also a little girl.. she loves to run around on some nights.. every so often.. u can hear her little feet padder up and down the halls.. sometimes see runs her hands along the walls... ive never seen her.. but she sounds cute.. both these spirits arent hositle but very peaceful...

Origin of the haunting: 17th Century

Background: The present castle was built, by Sir William Hilton, between 1374 and 1420. There is nothing left of the original castle built in 1072. Towards the end of the 18th Century the castle was abandoned and much of it was demolished in 1862. This is the Cauld Lad's story.



Ghost story: I'm Robert Skelton and I was a bit of a lazy boy. I didn't mean any harm but if the master didn't keep me busy I got into mischief. I was a stable boy and one of my jobs was to get the master's horse ready. One day I fell asleep and when the master came to get his horse it wasn't ready. He flew into a terrible rage. He threw a pitchfork at me and killed me.

He threw my naked body into the pond; it was cold even for a ghost. I used to wander round the grounds shivering. Then one day some servants left a cloak for me which kept me warm. Eventually my bones were found in the pond and I was given a proper burial. Nobody has seen me since. I am at peace and have no reason to haunt anymore - but who knows?

There are SO many stories of haunted places around me yet i can never find them. Ive been to one house, and other then seeing something out of the corner of my eye it was more..my friends scaring me then the house scaring me. ID LOVE to find something that is crazy haunted..but good luck with that :P

There is rumor of a haunted soliders graveyard close to where i live ..They say you can see the the soliders roaming around at night i haven't had the chance to get over there and check it out yet

We have a few. One of them is the Tow Path Ghost - A drunken Canalman is said to have fallen in the water near the aqueduct. He was caught in his own line and dragged to death by his mule. A dark figure can be seen pacing the path leaving behind wet footprints.

We also have "13 curves" - which is the site where about 70 years ago a newly married couple had been killed in an auto accident trying to go through the treacherous curves. To this day it is said that a woman in a flowing white gown can be seen through the woods looking for her husband.

Also Split Rock Quarry - On July 12, 1918, a munitions plant exploded at Split Rock Quarry, west of Syracuse. It took the lives of 50 men with it. 15 were never identified and buried in a common grave. More than 80 years after the plant blew up, the spirits of the dead still roam the ledges or stand on the ruined rock crusher of the old quarry. They glow in shades of green and yellow, a ghostly after-image of the effects of picric acid, the bitter, and toxic explosive that once stained miners' skin yellow-green.

These are just a few. NY has a lot of haunted places.

i am not sure but i know that there are a few haunted areas here in Toowoomba (australia). There is an area also were there has been heaps of UFO sightings so the area itself is full of happening things

There are some haunted places where I live, but unfortunately I don't know where their at.

we have many haunted places here in phoenix.. any old place will have them... obviously the older the area the more lives have passed thru there.. can you imagine what it must be like in mesopotamia?

I grew up in Thornton and there is a little town inside called Eastlake. A friend of mine told me of a house on her street that was supposed to be haunted.... I was interested in learning more about it so I looked into what the legend was... I found out that there was a multiple murder in the house she spoke of.... unfortunatly I was never able to go into the house and find out if it was true or not... course the house did sit vacant for many years after the murders took place.... It's the only evidence that it may have some truth to it.... I saw plenty of people look at the house and it never made it passed a week after the signing process.

Actually did a private paranormal investigation last year on the entire ship. Got good EVP activity in the broiler room of the ship near an area where a soldier from WWII got crushed in a steel door playing chicken with one of his other shipmates.

Hollywood cemetary in ca, is haunted by alot of spirts and ghosts of the stars.

I have been told of a few hauntings around here but the most famous for my state (queensland here in australia) is boggo road jail.

When I was a kid I went to a place I think it was called Ashton Hall...It was with school, there was supposed to be a ghost there called "The Grey Lady"

She hung herself outside of her husbands window because she found out he got another woman pregnant, shes supposed to walk the halls with her head off hanging off....lol

there's this old insane assylum close to my house and one night my boyfriend broke into it and said all this shit about it being haunted. you're gonna have to ask him about it though. djmmp

There is also an old mill right near my house, it's over 100 years old which means it cant be knocked down, it's a listed building.

It was set fire to, & quite alot of people were supposed to of died in there.

Tramps, squatters live in the bottom floor, but it has like 7-8 levels including a basement.

The elevators aren't supposed to work in there, & the stairs are all cut off & aren't accessable, but at night in the very top, one of the towers on either side always has a light on. The electricity isnt supposed to be working in there, and even if it is, how can someone get up there to put the light on...It's a really creepy place.

I went in there with friends on the bottom floor when I was really young, I never tried going back in there after that as the floors kept caving in & stuff

Oh the Grey Lady sounds nice and spooky... lol and insane asylums there are a lot of haunted asylums here in Australia, as well as old jails and hospitals.. you can do ghost tours here in aus and they are apparently deliciously spooky.

Yeah, theres an old jail 20 minutes from my house which is now a muesum, it's were they used to torture people lol, they let you go into all the old cells & see -some- of the torture devices, it's supposed to be very haunted in there, I haven't been in though & I've gone past it mostly every day of my life for 20 years lol

Nods we have the same here in Aus you can even stay in some over night and had friends stay in boggo road jail and they told me they heard stuff that terrified the hell out of them and they couldn't wait to get out of there. But I wonder if its mind over matter, maybe you build your mind up to expect something of a scary nature to happen so your mind invents it. Just a thought.

lol, Well if you hear stories that there are ghosts & strange happenings, & you're staying there over night...I think the slighest sound would be picked up by us & we'd interprit it to being something ghostly...I think it's paranoia & already being wound up about something being there, & about the ghost stories

if any1 is from MA than you should check out the old danvers insane assylum in taunton. that 1 is really haunted that and fort revere in hull ive been to both and had encounters there

at the fort my brother was almost like possesed i guess you could call it a spirit was using him to talk. it was creepy

there's a graveyard not far from me where it's haunted by a vengful witch, who was sealed away and burned in the tomb that lay at the back of the grave yard....

there was a hotel in the mid 1900's(about 20 miles from my house) i believe it was that started on fire while a dance was going on. some of the people inside died. there was also a like side attachment to the place where the owner kept his dogs, the dogs died in the fire. i've never been there myself but friends have said they went there and when they get close enough they can hear dogs barking and women screaming.

I live in Lake Havasu City, Az. Home of the London Bridge. The bridge was purchased in the in the 60's and brought over brick by brick and re-essembled. But, that was not all that Lake Havasu has imported from England... apparently, a few ghosts came along as well! During the dedication ceremony,a woman noticed four figures strolling across the bridge. As they were dressed in old-fashioned British clothing, she assumed that they were in costume as part of the event. They were pointed out by other onlookers,and then dissappeared. As time has passed, these British ghosts are still occasionally seen. The most common reports of them involve a man and woman who are spotted walking across the bridge, a british 'bobbie' walking the beat, a lady in Black has been seen walking across the bridge, she stops on the Bridge and jumps off and disappears. Those who try to approach the ghosts find that they simply disappear.

I live in Austin and there are lots of haunted places. On is the Driskill hotel and it is said to be the most haunted hotel in Texas

Where I went to college in Marshall, Texas there is an old dirt road that has clift above it on either side at places where it is only wide enough for one car to go through. It is call Stagecoach Road. There have been reports of a spectral stagecoach and apparitions of men carrying a coffin.

Im not sure of anything local, I do know of a light. It is in the woods in Michigan, it is said to believe there is an unexplained light that bounces around in the woods. People say it is the train engineer, looking for his lost head. Im not sure honestly. I think it is a reflection of headlights, but hey thats my opinion. They eve had the Light on unsolved mystery's

omg I really can't believe that no one mentioned Athens Ohio... It's right at the center of the Pentagram Cemeteries. It's said to be the 13th most haunted place in North america. More specifically Ohio State University campus there's a dorm building. It's called Wilson hall. In Ohio University’s Wilson Hall on the West Green the door to room 428 is closed and sealed. Why would a university seal off a room that could be used for one of its thousands of students? Because school officials have deemed the room uninhabitable. This came after students reported objects flying off of shelves and smashing into walls, doors opening and closing and sightings of a student who once lived in room 428. The female student died violently in the room after practicing the occult. The story goes – the girl used the energy of the room to practice astral projection.

She commited suicide in that room, smearing her blood into occult symbols. The story goes no matter how many times the University painted over the symbols they always bled through the paint. Not to mention there is a demon on the graining of the door. As far as I know they've since turned the room into a boiler room. Oh gods, its so interesting though.

Athens - Ohio University - the most haunted building on campus is Wilson Hall on West Green. County records show that the dorm was built over an old, Indian burial mound. Most of the Wilson Hall hauntings seem to be centered around the fourth floor. Students have reported seeing apparitions, hearing voices, mysterious slamming doors and flying objects.

Athens - Ohio University - Washington hall - there was a girls basketball team staying in the dorms at Washington hall for a basketball camp, and they were killed on the way home ad since they had a such a good time the haunt the arch of Washington hall. if you stand under it long enough you can hear the girls bouncing the balls and giggling.

Athens - Ohio University - Wilson Hall - Reports of banging, cold spots, blood would appear on the walls no mater how many times it was painted. Athens - Strouds Run - They say that if you go to Strouds Run, at any time of night, you can see a buffalo drinking from the stream. The buffalo was the last buffalo of the area and it was made a law not to kill it. Later locals named the buffalo Stroud. Then one day the British or French, not sure which army it was, killed the buffalo. Well, the U.S got really mad and started killing all the soldiers in the camp. One of the soldiers took the skull of the buffalo and hid all of the army’s money in it then buried it... and it has never been found.

i live in a somewhat active area.
first ill list a few then explain why in my opinion.
in rochester ny and surrounding areas there are alot of ghost storys or haunting occurances.on several occasions ive gone to manny of these places and have seen and heard many unexplainable things.

in tryon park near lake ontario there use to be a beautiful flourishing pake back in the 20s.it was said that a woman murdered 3 couples in there cars parking at night.when the cops found the woman she was covered in blood which was very obvious because she was dressed in a snow white dress,and wielding a butcher knife.apparently the police had to shoot her.there have since been hundreds of supposed sightings generations of people describe the same thing...now ive been here at night and never saw or heard anything but soon after the origional murders the park was closed and now all that is left is overgrown swingsets washed out paths and im not gonna lie its kinda of a creepy place.

the next most promenently active area is the bar that i hang out at after a few occurances i when and researched the history of the place plus i know all the bar tenders and owner.i could tell you about hours and hours of things weve see usually after close from 3 to 6 when were hanging out afterhours now i know it sounds funny but sometimes i dont even show up till 3 so alchol cant truely be a factor.
weve seen figures felt cold spots and even temted fait and tried to call things out.out of 5 or six times ive tried to intagonize the energy there at least half i have saw or heard things unexplainable.
this place has been a bar for 45 years before that it was a hore house and i know the bulding is older but i dont know what it was before that.

i think the reason this area is so active is because its just outside the city and in the 20s this area was pig farms across the street from that bar that says it is a historical neighborhood "swillberg"also in the 20s the mob was very prominent in the area so there is alot of bad history

We had one supposivly it was this old printing place that turned into a house and there was supposlivly a murder there. We went in there but it appeared normal eccept a few letters, but it was so long ago I dont really remember what they said. One of them that we took was on the refridgerator.
I had told another friend how we had entered the place and he told us when he went the living room or what appears to be a living room was full of dolls. And he said when he went to look down in the basement the doll that stuck out the most was on the stairs leading down to the basement.
And well, I am haunted. I have a bunch of spirits that talk to me. Each of them wanting me to do something for them hehe. But that is another story ;D

There's a town near where I live, actually, two towns, Lookout Mountain, and Signal mountain, and both mountains are civil war relics. Like the entire mountains. hehe There's loads of hauntings up there. Especially on Lookout and Signal Point.

I dont know of any haunting's near me but when i was a little girl i my mom and i lived with my grandma and when my mom was younger they played with a wigi board (i dont know if thats spelt right) in the room where we slept and i woke up one knight with this thing staring at me and it had red eyes and the body of a man i couldn't move or say any thing it just stayed there and watched me then i cant remember what happened after that i dont think it was a ghost but i dont know what it was but my grandmas house was haunted by tons of ghosts

The Alexian Brothers Hospital Is like right around the corner from my house. And thats where the original exorcism happened at. But I think the building got tore down so its not there anymore. And the theres the Lemp Mansion thats suppose the be the most huant place. Then theres my school that i go to thats suppose to be built over a cemetary but I havent seen anything scary there. Oh and then theres Gates of Hell I've been there before and I seen people walking around. It was scary gave me nightmares for a while.

I used to work in a building that was once a movie theatre, it has some very steep stair cases dark corridors ect and the upstaris section was said at one time to have been a brothel. It is believed that it is inhabited by the ghost of a prostitute who fell down a staircase breaking her neck. While I never encountered the ghost per say, walking that staircase at night even in the middle of summer would make me very uncomfortable and leave me feeling cold when the rest of the building was hotter than the sun

I haven't explored or researched anywhere that's haunted in TN but in OH, there is Egypt Valley. It's a nature reserve with two cemeteries and a murder site. It's quite beautiful out there but I have seen and heard very strange things out there. Salem Cemetery is actually listed on a couple of online lists as one of the top ten most haunted cemeteries in America.

There is a castle ruin Near my home that is said to be haunted.. Apparently, the haunting have increased. Also the Castle is beginning to collapse due to Land Subsidance.

The Devils Tower - Alpine, NJ

According to the Alpine Historical Society, the "Devil’s Tower" was the centerpiece of an estate called "Rio Vista," which was owned by Manuel Rionda in the first half of the 1900s. Rionda was a Spaniard who made his fortune from sugar cane plantations in Cuba. His mansion was on the cliffs where the present day Alpine Lookout is located. His property was the largest estate owner on the Palisades. Rionda used to delight in taking guests up to the top for the view (there was an elevator). It was built some time around WWI.

The big stone tower at one time housed evil rituals by Satanists early in the century. Some evil tragedy happened, and after the group’s demise, there have been several attempts to tear it down, but to no avail. Some say work crews have died in the attempt.

Just off to one side of the tower was a chapel and ornately decorated mausoleum. Rionda’s wife and sister were both interred there at one time, though their bodies were removed when Rionda died in 1943.

The entire estate was subdivided years ago, and was mostly just woodlands through the 1970s. The name "Devil’s Tower" probably came about around that time, and kids used to break into it and party and leave graffiti, sometimes of a "Satanic" nature. Eventually the tower was sealed up, and large houses were built on Rionda’s former property (the development is called "Rio Vista"). The tower is on a public road called The Esplanade, which is accessible from Route 9W, maybe a mile north of the Tenafly-Alpine border.

Fordham University in The Bronx is said to have a few ghosts in different of its buildings, it is haunted lovers delight

Here in Colorado, we have one major one and that is the Stanley Hotel. That is where the Shining was filmed. It is supposed to be extremely haunted. I've been wanting to stay up there but it is very expensive.

If you consider 'haunting' as a place where spirits dwell- I would say there's no place that isn't haunted.

i live next to this place called the 13 steps of hell.u walk up the steps and go into some woods that are scary as hell then there is a house that was burned out and destroyed but when you go in it is all nice and then goes crazy at night

There is this restaurant about 2 miles away fro my house called the Red Rose Inn and it was built back in the 1800's. It was one of the first and only things that existed back in this area from where I am from. Anyway, it has been known to be haunted especially in the basement and in the restaurant portion of the building. People have complained about the kitchen being messed up sometimes in the morning, and of certain tables found turned upside down before anyone opens the place up in the morning.

The german u boat in seawolf park in galveston is haunted by the souls of the german submariners that died on it.

there is this house close to me that is huanted with ghosts and the family that lived there was being huanted by bad spirits in fact they had to move out and they even made a movie about it the family name was smurls i can't recall the name of the movie it was some yr's ago
