i have seen a lot of web sites that carter to people who want fangs either take out or surgical, now me i dont need eother due to the fack i have natural long and pointed caniens , to the point people think i had them done to look the movies,

now my question is do how many people here use fake fangs , and why, or have had them surgical done, and with that dose it help you when you feed?

Fake fangs are a sign of a fake vampire in my opinion, they may just like the taste of blood and need something to bite into flesh........but i would imagine that it would help you feed better than normal......hope that answers your question...... :)

Well I personally would have to have fake ones Crying Mist and if I did decide I wanted them I would go for surgical ones that way I won't lose them or forget to put them in...

Im currently wearing braces, so I cant do that right now. I have thought about fang implants though.
I have been going to the same dentist and orthodontist for years. I would just like to see the looks on their faces if I told them I wanted Fang implants LOL

me i jusyt use my natural teeth, i was never able to use the fake ones my canies were to long to keep them in

My teeth are pretty sharp anyway, and most of the fake fangs on the market are SO obviously fake. As for being able to pierce skin, that is pretty much a no no, unless you had tiny pieces of a razor blade moulded in with the fangs, but then you risk self lip removal.

Look good for clubs and such, but in reality, its not going to work

all I have to say is natual is best, with fake ones, its harder to feel the flesh and taste it

i see what your saying. you can eat better with fangs. but with teeth you can't. you could probably do more stuff with fangs. i can just see the look on my moms face if i told her i needed some money to have fangs put in. but i think all stick with teeth for a while

the fang are not for "feeding" they are just more for show kinda like dressing up lol

I would have them done surgecly but my natural ones even is short, are sharp enought to bite through flesh. I do not need more.
My daughter has natural fangs tho..guess it has to grow bigger on the child then the mother.

I have natural larger than normal canine teeth...I'd never think about fake or surgical fangs either, that just proves what you are ~ human :)

First off, biting bad, with real or fake teeth. Second, our teeth do just fine at breaking skin, you just need to find your stones and bite hard enough. However, back to it being bad and all. Any sort of pinching or puncturing to the skin is a high, very high risk of infection. Donors don't like to be on antibiotic, really.

I believe fakies are just for show. Some look pretty, some just look stupid. I say, if you want to get the job done, use your own teeth.

some people had fangs to begin with..in the 50s and 60s there was a good deal of normalizing peoples teeth. ( i.e. fileing down points ) some people want jewelry for their teeth..my sweetie has done sterling silver fangs..they look elegant..

Nope. Mine are natural - and work perfectly for feeding. Even if I didn't have fangs, I would just rip throats with my regular teeth - jsut gotta bite harder. ;) I would never have my fangs removed, either - I love them!!!

the best time i used fake ones was during halloween one year. we were allowed to dress up at work.. instead of going all vamped out i just put in some decent fake fangs and wore my normal clothes... i got more reactions from that then if i'd have dressed up
i think implants are interesting, but in my field of work i can't see me getting many gigs with them ;]
so i'll stick to halloween for now

It can be dangerous to use fake ones for feeding though, if they are the take out ones. be careful.

Years ago my grand mother (right off the boat from Serbia) took me to a dentist and had my beautifully pointy canines filed down. Superstitions! Now my fangs have a obtrusive flat spot where the crown was... but still work.... just a bit messier!

Well, I don't care... I told my dentist that I would like to have them a little longer and he suggested something like a case made of something very similar to my teeth, even in the color and she will put my canines inside these cases... I prefer that instead of fake ones...

I only have one fang. It's my rear most molar- does that count?

i too have braces and cannot get fangs done... but yes, i would do it.

i myself have naturally long canines and i know someone that had them surgically put in and honestly, it sounds too painful...i don't see the need to. you can always get caps to put over your teeth to make them look like they ar natural

I have worn fake fangs but they are not something i wear on a daily basis i mainly just use my own teeth...

I've had fake fangs that are made out of the same stuff they make fake teeth out of. My father was a dentist so I got that treat. They were very uncomfortable even though they were made to fit my mouth. I didn't wear them for more than a few hours. There was no way I could eat with them either.

there are those of us who arent "pure breed" if you will, where they dont get the teath and they want the look or they just use them as a tool to feed

i have natural fangs but they are on both top and bottom. the bottoms are more pointed due to top being chipped in fights when i was younger.and i am not vamp.

i use fake ones on halloween to make my natural ones even longer to scare my little brother ( age 3) and my little sister ( age 5 ) due to the fact they watch buffy and think they actually are slayers ..i personally besides for that do not believe in using fake fangs nor do i need them for more then scaring my little siblings

I also have long canine teeth. I was thinking about getting longer,sharper ones surgical put in but sense I don't use my fangs to open the flesh when I feed I guess it would be a waste of money. Not that I could even come close to affording it right now anyway. lol

I would personaly love fangs, but I would rather just use my normal teeth, cause they still work even if they aren't long.

As to agree with the first response to the question, fake fangs = fake vampire. HOWEVER, if you have blood fettish blood can be just as temping as drugs. but thats off topic.

what i really have to say is. Fake fangs are a great solution for people that have a severe blood fettish, or for people who believe in changing to become a vampire (not my personal belef but meh), who teeth might not fully develop into fangs.

Fake Fangs Just Never Work out ,mine are sharp an long to begin with so it works out but surgical would be best so its done right atleast an dont worry bout something going wrong

I don't prefer fake teeth. I usually just get my filed to a jagged point..that way they cut to where one bleeds more. LOL I hope you understand what I mean lol.

In all seriousness for this topic, I do have fangs, they are pointy, but normal tooth length (four of them actually).

Sometimes I do wish they were a bit longer to give me that vampiric look. I'd love to have them merely to get a reaction out of some people... lol Then again, they might hunt me down and drive a stake through my heart. ROFL

Some people have fangs surgically to show them off to an extent.
Others just have them because the look cool.
It really depends on the person.

ive seen many people with natural teeth with hugh fangs. very kool i wear fake ones sometimes if i did wear all the time and drank blood i dont think id use fake ones id go to the dentist

I view fang jobs very similar to boob jobs. Kinda pointless but some people feel they just "have" to have them.
Personally I have natural fangs- oh there's always the feeling i wish they were a little longer, much like i wish I could go up at least one cup size. Personally I may eventually get a slight extension- but for cool factor, I use razorblades anyways. Cleaner and much more effecient.

Those of us not so lucky have 2 options have fangs installed or custom made to be removed.


Having Fangs installed create a problem with the fact dental acrylic is stronger than real teeth as people have a tendacy to grind their teeth in their sleep they break their natural teeth.

A problem not found with the removable kind.

I use removable ones - safer for the real teeth and not that hard to take care of

well im like you, natural sharp canines. they're not real long tho..only when eating meat and after eating meat, are they long. but they do come longer than my other teeth. but yes I agree fake fangs are fake vampires.

i think the ones that you just put in. like buying at a store. are for people who have the image of the typical movie vampire stuck in their head. i think that if i were to get them. i would get the surgical ones. but not huge. because that is once agian showing it. most of those are to showpeople. and i think they would be better if it was only for use. not for show.and if you really wanted to cut some skin. then sharpen your regualr teeth. i can't though my teeth are to sensitive.so im basicly shit out of luck when it comes to piercing the skin. only sometimes i can manage it.

i have naturally longer canines and am missing a set of the teeth that are supposed to be btwn them. lovely genetics. but i love mine the way they are. i have had a lot of people ask if i sharpen them. i don't. no need.

well thats a great questions i think the reason why people get fake ones is because they don't have the money to get real ones done or they are just to lazy to get them done

this is a very interesting thread, and it makes me wonder something else - are there any "lycans" or "weres" here who have gone for pointy ear extensions, or whisker implants? i've seen pictures of people who have tiger pattern tattoos and whisker implants as well as fangs / filed teeth. what about contacts? how many vampires / weres wear coloured contacts for effect? i dont think its a sign of a fake - i think its a matter of physical augmentation to express the inner self or identity. lets be honest, there are no real undeads here. the pointy toothed christpher lee type vampire is an archetrype.

thats interesting...i have thought about getting some i think it would definately cause more pain when biting..which could be a good thing. i think it jsut depends personally what a person does some like them andsome don't since it is only cosmetic just like the colored contact lenses they have out.

I have the removeable ones.. as for it makeing me fake.. why is it somehting I like purely for looks.. like say oohh a tattoo or pierceings would be as they truely serve no other purpose other than self expressoin... marks me as somehting fake?

I would never ever bite someone to draw blood.. for a few reasons.. not every donor would enjoy the pain.. and I would detest putting anyone in that much pain... and its just.. eww all the germs and stuff in the human mouth.. no not a safe way to do it.

And I can eat some things in my fangs.. not a studry steak meal or somehting liek that.. but without thinking about it I scarfed popcorn and a hot dog at the movies the other day.

Some of us like the fangs purely for the look. And for me its a way to let people know what I am without slapping them in the face with it... gives them an opening to ask me questions.. or just assume I am nuts.

I dont think it makes you "fake" to have implants or what I refer to as "Lee Press on Fangs."

I dont want or need either, my wife doesnt let me bite her lol. but if i was to get them i think i would go for the brace type ones so if i change my mind i could easierly without having to go through surgery again

I'd love to get some fake ones, my teeth have all been blunted and broken and repaired due to a series of accidents when I was younger, so they're flat and boring now. I'd probably only wear them out though =)

well, i have used fake fangs in the past, i dont think that means a fake vampire, no matter what anyone says. maybe its a way for those of us without money to express who we truely are. but, i dont need fangs, my teeth work just fine.

I would probubally go for surgical if only because the ones you take out tend to look so fake nad hell I'd lose em all the time lol

Most of my friends have natural fangs, Gaz has surgical fangs (they look brillant...very scary..lol) but me...im the odd one out as i dont have any :o ( so i use the fake ones...still very effective tho!!

The only times I have ever used fake fangs was for acting roles. Never in real life. Fangs just don't work for me.

Not from personal experience but from what I have read on here, most of the 'active' sangs don't actually bite, they use something sharp to make a hole and suck

For a human to make a hole by biting surely you would leave a really big jagged hole and a lot of bruising, unless you use some sort of bucktoothed lunge with just two teeth

Fangs in nature are usually used for injecting venom or ripping flesh, not really for piercing and drinking

I think those people who buy fake fangs, for whatever reason, are just really making a statement

You can have two words for the same thing. Lycan is Greek & lycantrophy is a semi-medical term - werewolf is the english lay person's term. Its not unusual to have many names for the same thing in any language [screen, monitor, VDU].

If your friends have any ideas on how they came to use the term 'Lycan' for a witch with greater senses, I am sure the hundreds of werefolk who visit this site would be interested to read their sources - you will be able to start your own thread on this subject soon enough :)

Im not for sure but i would think that fake vampire teeth would not help a person feed because of the minimal strength they have, when they are attached to your real teeth...

i want to pay the however much, and get them put in. so then they are not ones that just stick on them. ahha. those would hurt you more to bite with then the person you are bitting. well yeah i want to get them. and then have them sharpen them. ultra sharp. so then i can bite harder. and break skin easier. or even have them done in like metal or something. but i think i would want them to look more natural. and not very long.

I dont have any fangs, my canines are a little sharp but not too elongated. If i could, I would get fangs. Im not sure I would get the implants seeing as i would not be able to wear them every day because of work. so really good removable ones are what i would want. and the reason i would want them is not to be a fake or pretend im something im not. i just think they are sexy. the idea of them. the feeding. the biting. everything about it is jus hot to me. I have never drank any blood beside my own and consider myself to be more of an energy feeder. but if i found the right donor, id go the extra mile.

my k-9s were long and extremely sharp until my dentist filed them down because he said they were to sharp and they actually scared him but i've seemed to fix that. it sounds weird but i file mine to make them sharper so mine are real and completely natural :D
