please explain what a natural witch is and how dose it differ from others thank you

i belive a natural witch is
some who was born with the ability to practive and comand what they do

a natural witch is someone who has witchcraft passed along in thier family. from their parents and grand parents and so on.

Some are born with the gift, others have to learn it.

Natural witch is either born with the ablitilies or born in to it..family

Some people have talents (abilities that you have from birth). These I would say do not mean they are a natural witch. Some people pick to dump them and let them fade.

But I would think a natural witch would come about if a few things are met:

Born into a family that has been doing it for many generations and as such is immersed in it from a very young age.

Shows a talent that truly helps being a with be much easier. Be this an affinity doing something, some extra sight (a divers eye, third eye open, ect...), or well can do some things that a learned witch can do but seemingly alot easier.

If those two are met then you have a natural witch.


But if that talent thing is not met, that person very well might be drawn into being a witch over time anyway. But then it is not natural they are simply becoming who they where meant to be.

As it has been explained, I do agree. Some of us however have gifts that were never revealed until we followed that nagging feeling that something was missing. In my case, some of my family tried to stamp out these things as a curse. It wasn't until I started digging that I found out that I had a magical heritage.

Being "natural" means being born into. Like a family line I guess you could say. Like your great great great great grandmother was one and handed down the line and so forth. Or same goes with warlocks.

MsDutchess thats was part of what I said. Your talents are your own. You have that gift and talent all on your own. You where just born with it. Family does not matter unless they where witches anyway.

natural vs self taught. I don't think there's a really big difference except how long one has had to work with their gifts. If your family has been witches for generations, obviously growing up with it will make things feel more natural to you and may come easier. Kinda like a family full of artists, people see my mom can do all sorts of artsy stuff, it's really no surprise that I can too.

i was born a natural witch, my mother and grandmothers were the local"medicine women". when you had a problem you went to them. cure colds, give you plants to abort babies, what sex of baby you'd have and my grandmother was a water witch!!

well I was born a witch as well and my mother taught me the craft but then she took a turn in her life and became a christian i have and always will remain apart of the religion and practice it's ways, it is who i am and it is who i will remain I was trained by my mother/grandmother/and my aunt.

I dont belive in natural witches, I mean their are lots of people who are born with gifts, and alot of them are not witches, and their are a lot of people who were born from long lines of witches who do not practise witchcraft, and they do not concider themselves witches. It is my belief that we are all born with the same abilities. We just do not always recognize them as quickly or as strongly as someone else does...hense the difference between a natural witch and a learned witch.

some people choose to follow the old path. for a natural witch, the path has already chosen them. they are usually descendants of the fair folk, fay, sidh, faery, elven, - the elder race. as such, they are born with certain abilities, such as being able to see spirits, or to know of what is to come, or to be able to know what troubles folk. some have the ability to affect nature. they are naturally in tune with nature, and favoured by spirits. it is not a religion they follow, but a way of life they live. that is the difference.

A natural witch is usually a person whose family and bloodline has to do with magic but this is not enough.

A natural witch has had develloped his/her skills and powers in previous lives and use them instictively sometimes without even trying...
That is because he/she is more tuned with them than most people since he/she had them for more time.

It is the kind of person that create changes without coincious effort cause its power is strong enough within him/her even if he/she hasn't learn how to control it in this lifetime.

The kind of person that feels things and knows stuff for no obvious reason etc.

some would say its in the genes, but it can also just be there not coming from the genes, just be in one person in the whole family. Without have none coming from their ancesters, I guess the true diference cannot really be known as it differ from one person's point of view to another.

I would think a natural witch to be someone who is born that way and uses the craft in a way to heal things and only uses substance that comes from a natural enviroment not chemically induced.

As defined by the Roman Catholic Church in its commissioned 1484 publication the "Malleus Maleficarum":

"All witchcraft comes from carnal lust, which is in women insatiable" (Malleus Maleficarum, Question VI; 1484).


By this definition, are not almost all women, in fact, witches? Mmmm... yes, and thankfully so. ;)

I have a question: In works of fiction like the Harry Potter series, characters (such as Hermione Granger) are depicted as being born with magical powers, but not to magic parents (the books call this character type "Muggle Born"). Is it possible in real life for a person to be born like that? Born with natural powers without the craft being passed along the family?

mug-bloods? i dont know for sure. certainly there are many children who seem to have powers or abilities that their parents didnt - but maybe it's a recessive gene. maybe what their parents denied and supressed emerges in them stronger. do psychic powers get stronger with each generation, or weaker. i like to think it is part of human evolution, and that they will get stronger. that would mean that it is possible for parents with no psychic ability to give birth to children with psychic abilities.

I think a lot of that natural incliination comes from people who are more in tune with nature than others. Anecdotally, a lot of witches I know are work in the healthcare industry or with helping animals - nurses, vets, etc.

If you want to learn about witchcraft, open a Harry Potter book, turnaround, and run away as fast as you can. The best sources of the druids, witches, and Celtic culture are the Romans - Julius Caesar's War in Gaul, Tacitus, and Dio Cassius. Most can be found for free on the net.

Wytches are the product of either being "of the blood" as they say, or developing the art by learning from a wytch through a coven or studying the numerous books in the subject. There is no such catagory of "natural witch" in the current nomenclature of Wicca. Heriditary witches come from witch families, the are taught by their parents or other relatives. Many "heriditary" witches have been found to be bogus, as it is easier to impress others with deciet. They often write books on the Craft, using others ideas and rituals.

Technically, everyone is born a natural witch, you just have to learn to harness it. You have to learn how to ground and center and focus your energy

You could be born with abilities of some sorts but for them to matter to a witch i dont see the connection.

A natural witch is someone who is born with magic in their blood, they have a true natrual talent for it even if they dont practise it or know about it...but a non-natural witch, practises magic, reads magic & is only half as good as a natural witch, they are not born with magic in their blood, theres things a natural witch can do with their powers with out thinking or without using spells etc that a non-natrual witch would never be able to do...some people are just blessed in this life!!

I always felt an interest for witchcraft and different from the rest, and was glad when I found out Witchcraft didn't exist only in fairy tales,even though differently.

However I don't know where this interest comes from considering none of my family has an interest in this stuff,instead they always scared me about it because they are close minded.

Same with me, I have always been interested in witch craft but my family is filled with closed minded people and they have always said things like you're not normal for liking things like that. I don't care it is just who I am.

deathnitegrl since I am starting learning this kind of stuff. I know I need to be careful at home. My family might not be closed minded but they either think it is weird, had some weird encounters with one person, or well I do not know and might not want to find out.

But at least I have a close friend that can help and such (if she wants).

I agree with those before me who suggested the term "natural witch" would indicate someone who possesses the talents and powers of a witch, but were born with these abilities, as opposed to learning and then honing these skills.

I believe a certain lifestyle can be easier for some than others, but I feel that everything is a conscious decision, a lifestyle choice- so there is no "natural" witch.

I find it difficult to fathom that magic involving things such as spells or sigils, would in any way be able to be passed along genetically to a born witch. I'm sure it's feasible to be taught at such an early age as to be a family practice but 'natural witches' remind me more of old Disney films or WB television than actual happenings.

A spiritual connection could be possible at a very early age and perhaps bonds could be formed from the 'afterlife' or spirits/demons/elementals with families but this still would not seem to me to be a natural witch, just the potential for a more attuned or powerful learned witch.

I think you could look at it in 2 ways depending on your beliefs. A natural witch is either someone who doesn't have to "study" to use their abilities, they just come naturally, like breathing. Sometimes they aren't away that what they are doing is "different" and may hurt themselves or others before they know what they're doing. It may or may not be part of their background.

Or, it could be someone who uses or is heaviliy attuned to the "powers" of nature for their abilities.

Either way it's all very interesting.

A natural witch (in my opinion) is someone who is born with magick within them and with certain gifts that have been passed on to them.

A witch who is not a natural witch is one who has learned magick and earnt the gifts they may or may not have.

As a natural witch myself, I first experienced the raw power of magick when I was just 8 and my first gift decided to manifest itself.

I have to say that ALL natural witches still have to learn how to use and control magick in the same way as any other witch. However, a witch who is not natural will usually take longer to learn the art.

Natural - Born with such powers as they are known to have and some that are still unknown.

Trained - More or less just a human with the ability to use as such the abilities of a witch only on a smaller scale.

I am a natural witch born in to this world by a witch and bares powers,yes u have to be trained to a degree but most of it comes naturally!

In my case, it's a little complicated. I come from a family of witches but was strictly forbidden to even ask about it. But, my abilities seemed to develop on their own, and by 14 I was practicing on my own. When it's in your blood, there's no denying what you are. Sooner or later it's going to come out.

Well then, nobody mentioned how it comes out. I mean, passion, sight, even great power/energy -don't help a lot.

A natural witch is a person who was born with the gift/power. One who doesn't have to learn or don't have to research or read up on it...they r naturally born with it.

Im hearing a lot of people say that a natural witch is a person who is born into witchcraft because their parents and grandparent were witches i dont think that is true at all, because i know that their is people out their who has parent and grandparents who are good cooks but that dosent mean that the person who is born into the family are going to be good cooks also...

hmm, i am not sure about the whole natural witch thing, All i know is that a friend of mine did this spell called "scratches" and i did indeed end up with scratches on my back!
