when you meditate were do you go and what do you see.
i personaly go to the mountains by my house. most of the time i see the faces of people. idk why
When I meditate I envision either the ocean or cabin out in the middle of the woods, hearing the sounds, smelling the scents.. just being there.
When I meditate I transcend the physical elements surrounding me to a much more calmer and emptier plateau. It is only in a tranquil mindset that I can actually achieve tranquility in the physical realm of reality.
I meditate when I'm in my room but you probably see faces of people because they are probably trying to contact you in some way... Through meditation anything is possible and when you master meditation then you can levitate... You should try to read peoples minds and take people over when you meditate IT'S FUN!!
Meditation works differently for each person that does it.I meditate to center my chi and or to calm myself when Im mad or upset about something.I mainly visualize a white room with white walls..and nothing else there. Its a calming affect for me.
I mainly do it when i need to feel grounded. I see only the things i am using to ground myself.
I really do not meditate, i have tried but i can never really do it...
i want to try it...i signed up for a ti chi class awhile back but bad timing...never got to go. i'd like to achieve somekind of inner balance.
Physically I meditate outside in my backyard late at night. I do not envision anything when I meditate I clear my mind completely of all thought (well I try to). Laying on one of my lounge chairs staring off into the universe. Doing this makes me feel so very small, but whole, and connected. Time stands still...
I meditate with fire... I am an Aries, so I am a fire sign, and it just works best for me.... That and if I don't have fire nearby, I will envision being in the middle of a blazing fire... Wonderful....... restful................. *sighs happily*
Right now when I meditate, ti usually takes place in my bedroom just before I go to bed. I light 2 candles to represent the male and female spirits and ask for their continued guidance. As far as what I see, usually blackness. I more or less go in to an empty space that is filled with nothing...nothing to be distracting.
I meditate whenever I can or when Im stressed. I usually go to a place of my own creation or travel the world. I also try to imagine a life that isnt so difficult.. so its like a normal day thats nice. Or I try to be with people... usually these people I dont know..but I seem to know them. I wish I could go further into meditation, but I dont know anything about it much, and no one to train me!!

When meditating it is helpful to remember this: "When you pray - one speaks to God. When you meditate - one listens."
You should not be "going" anywhere! That is called daydreaming and not meditation.
the more i think about it...the more i want to try it. any ideas for beginners???
Meditation...
I have not tried this before but know of a few who practice...
One told me that his body gets extremely tense and has a negative response.
Others have a more relaxed experience.
I am unsure of what to do. Could you give us beginners a few ideas/tips.
I have a vague idea but need some guidence.
I have seen many places in meditation.
I see certain beings...dragons, angels and many more.
One of my favorite places is a big meadow surrounded by a forest, beyond that a mountain. ^_^
Other places seem to be of roman design. One place I remember was this huge castle at the beach. The entire castle was made out of some type of marble. Higher beings I do believe were there, I met one before. He was interesting but he only spoke a few words then just walked with me on the beach not saying a word.
Theres many more...very interesting places. :)
Well when I need to clear my mind I like to take a walk down this bike track it has alot of trees and birds and I can sort out my thoughts.
Could that be a form of meditation?
I would love to go out bush somewhere and sit in the middle between the trees.
I think that's where I would find my serenity
If you can be present and enjoy whatever you do in life without thought then yes, it is meditation. Its a "walking meditation." Do this 24/7 and you would be a Buddha. :)
When I meditate I usually find myself on a desert island, hearing the sounds of the waves and birds singing. :)
lol...
Well some little things I have read on buddah has peaked my interest. But purely on inner peace. If you cannot be happy within yourself, I think you cannot be happy in your life. I don't understand why some people need to be rude and abuse people because of their own appearence!
It's as if they need to prove to people that they are tough and macho...No one really cares. I just love being happy within myself and my surroundings.
When I meditate I find myself all alone nothing all around.. darkness all around me and the sound of my breathing...
Now astral travel is another story which in a way sounds a lot like what a great deal of you are doing just unaware of it, and mistaking it as meditation..
By a waterfall, surrounded by cherry blossom trees, and emerald green fields., a place i can escape the cruelities of this concrete maze we call cities.
i envision space like billions of miles from any celetial body, just me, and distant stars, no sound cause without atomosphere you wouldnt hear anything....i guess its my need to separate myself from others....
I become more intune with nature, and I usually end up in different places, even under the water, I can make my self into other animals as well.
i just see blackness cos i try to empty my head of all thought and relax
it matters wat kind of mood im in.. if im made i tend to be sittin in a house on fire.. just feeling the heat and smelling the smoke.. When im a bit more relaxed i normally end up sittin on this rock on top of a water fall. Dont ask me where that came from cause i have no idea.. i just seem to drift there
I normally do meditation trying to get relaxed first. I need to be in my room, i usually start with Reiki, so i need to be sat on my bed, and then when i finish my reiki, i lay on my bed and can do some breathing exercises...
I go to are cabin in the Pocono's. Love the nature and it is quiet, secluded, and can be alone.
The faces could mean that they are people that have died or people in the future that you are goin to me. It also could be other people meditating and going to the same "place" that you are.
when i mediate i go to my room put on soft music close my eyes and just think with no noises at all
I use a very simply visulisation in order to relax before prayer/healing.
will have to think about what you say Billy.
I guess I use the word meditate, but mean relax, get rid of workaday thoughts and feelings.
I guess it depends on the day.Sometimes I go home to the U.K. and try to look in on family and loved ones.Othertimes go into myself or simply hang on the "steps" that is a place i go thats really nowhere..kinda inbetween worlds.I go there to, well really, I go there, so I don't have to think. If that makes any sense at all to anyone but me*grins*
I usually am walking through the forest talking with my spirit guide.
All I do when I meditate is put on some peaceful music and empty my mind of everything and relax
I like to light a stick of incense and go to this site.
The droning sound is soooo very therapeutic to me. Sometimes I will also listen to other variations when I meditate, but the one linked is the most common one I listen to.
I literally zone out and just try to clear my head... and go wherever my subconscious leads me.
I prefer to meditate at night, preferably on a night with a clear sky when all the stars are out and visable. I like to sit on the tailgate of my Mom's pickup truck and lay back in the truck bed, looking up at the stars and then close my eyes and just visualize the night sky.
Other times I'll just meditate in my room with the curtains closed, candles lit and/or insense burning. Very relaxing and calming.
When I get the chance to, I like to meditate in my room with a candle and a crystal.... things I can focus my energy on while I clear my mind to do whatever it is I do.... The wierd thing with me is I don't remember anything from the time I get deep into it to the time I come out.... The only reason I know I zone is because a friend of mine told me about one of my two hour sessions..... It's been awhile since I've meditated though and in that time I've found a couple of things I want to try to help me remember what I'm seeing..... But that's what I do...
I meditate in several different ways...
My favorite way is to go outside and just... listen. I have a bunch of woods behind my house and there's a place right over where my first horse was buried. I used to go there to just be alone and talk to him but after a while I just started to sit by myself and listen to the birds and the wind. Soon I made a point of doing it and everything faded away and... idk, it's hard to describe. It's like I lost myself in the sounds.
But I think this works for me because I'm an audio learner... sounds affect me more than sights or smells. So if you're better with something else, exploit that. Light some insence and focus on the smell if that's your thing, or stare at a flame or a picture if you're visual.
I use a water fontain, focus on it and let the water enhance my meditating
with all the things that i have on my mind i really wish i could meditate
I will try a few of these different ways to meditate because I think you need more than one way to clear ones mind of trouble and maybe to even sort the mind.
Thankyou all for your help and wisdom I appreciate your help.
CR
i meditate in two different ways inended to ground me on two different levels. first, i use an ancient yoga meditation to kind of detox my body. when i am completely numb, i then envision myself anyplace that will make me happy at that particular moment. it could be anywhere that my inner psyche desires. it keeps me sane.:]
I have a special "inner temple" that I go to. It is rather like a network of paths threw a large forest fashioned around the woods around my home of Western Pennsylvania. I have to concentrate to get to different areas in my temple to accomlish different things, such as going to my lake to learn more about my emotions, or climb my mountain to reach an enlightened answer to a troublesome question.
for those of you who meditate regulary can one meditate with alot of things on there mind ... and to do this does it take practice in any ways..
Well whatever it is classed as, I was trying to meditate by the method of imagining a peaceful relaxing place to visit in my mind.
After many attempts and no stillness of mind I finally one evening had the experience of being on a high cliff overlooking the ocean. I was standing on green grass with pretty little flowers like daisies, I looked out and saw another cliff like the one I was standing on, just across from me. I had my arms out open wide to the sides of me and I was smiling, there was a slight breeze and blue sky. To me the place was reminscent of Ireland.
I was convinced I was going to find whatever it was I have been searching for at this location if I could find it. On my recent travels to Ireland I was disappointed to discover that nothing over there was exactly like that place I visited in my mind...
I had candles and incense (nag champa) and I sat on my bed, legs crossed, no music just silence. The whole thing lasted maybe 20 minutes to half an hour. I felt very refreshed afterward :)
i see nothing, i think nothing, i only feel, feel my body in comfort, feel my mind at ease with no thoughts, im probably smoking my hookah when it happens, watching the smoke drift off making figures but i like not thinking rather than being in a CONSTANT state of thinking
i don't seem to be able to hush the thoughts long enough .. there is never any quiet inside my head. meditation is something that i would like to be able to do but i havent gotten the hang of it yet
I do tend to agree with billy the just, when your meditating your focus is to relax and center yourself. I visualise sitting on a deserted beach or reclining on cushions on a special pontoon I created in the middle if a still clear lake.
On occasion I will have images appear in my mind and pass through even words, sometimes hear voices giving me instructions or help in some way, but I am completely aware of my surroundings.
When your seeing faces or travelling around that is astral projection or travelling not meditation. Mediation is a relaxed state, but you are completely aware of your surroundings. And no where near the sleep cycle.
I meditate I see water like oceans , beaches , lakes , oasis's . I'm a Scorpio so water is what keeps me grounded.
when i meditate i like to think of my future and my goals...lol..dont ask
Depends.if i want to relax after a hard day,i focus on being in lush green meadow, with the sun all the wonders of nature surrounding me.me if i,m at work, and need to take five to resenter.I imagine i,m stood under a free flowing waterfall.always refreshes.
when I meditate it's in a field and I see sky and water..I guess it's just a peaceful place for me
i normally go to the highest roof of my house...normally i see what is to come and anything that will happen at certain times that i can prevent
When i meditate i do it in a dark room. I envison nothing and pull my mind inside, forgetting about the physical world. then follow the energy to wherever it takes me.
When I Meditate I have a place that I created,When I see people I don't know It is useally someone I have to Death Walk.
KA
When i meditate i usually go into a dream like state, it's usually a vision of recent events or a odd twist of them.
when i meditate i go to the place where is all silence i don't hear anything it is quite relaxing! ;)
the true goal of meditation is to gain complete control of the mind, rather than letting it be pulled about in all directions by circumstances and the people around us.
i meditate often to clear the cobwebs of mundane, everyday life. when i am able to block out the world and release my thoughts, i usually turn back towards a nagging problem and approach it gently from an altered state of mind. if i choose to travel, i usually astral travel to my favorite, undisclosed location.
I go into a black void. Occasionally, if I'm having trouble, I'll visualize a candle and try to hold it there floating in front of me for as long as possible. It helps my mind concentrate on a single thing instead if dozens.
I prefer to chant mantras and i use a string of meditation beads i made myself. i recently got some crystals and i'm going to try to meditate with those as well. the only problem i have sometimes is getting the motivation to actually get started! but when i'm actually doing it, it usually feels pretty good:)
Meditation is vey important and part of a daily life living . You should meditate once in morning and once at night before bed if possiable.
I regret to say that I can never reach the state of meditation where I can go to another place. I understand that true Master's can reach this stage of perfection, so in the meantime I will keep on striving to get there!
I have a field in the Adirondacks I tend to return to over and over again during my meditations. Near to text book perfect for meditation "exercises". Small pond, bridge, mountain side, open field.
Wolfesborn: Do you fly there? I have heard that some people fly in their meditations to those places..
When I meditate I envision either the ocean or cabin out in the middle of the woods, hearing the sounds, smelling the scents.. just being there.
I warned you fair and square about plagarizing other members posts. Is it too much effort to come up with an original thought? Enjoy your suspension.
it depends on what the reason for meditation is for me,if i have to think something through then i usually go somewhere familiar and end up talking with realatives and freinds, if i just need to be at peace i go to my forest with streams where its completely serene
I start with Sum-shigi (deep breathing-korean) that I learned in TaeKwon Do, from there i let my body relax and then envision a calm lake in the mountians surrounded with Cherry trees & Blossoms falling. Very tranquil.
i tend not to see things but feal them like ewnergy patterens and such but that is just me
To a dark shadow plane with grey fire looking down at all the planets of our solar system, but yet the horizontal plane of darkness where rotate our galaxy is also one of the places that i mediate. It is quite lovely.
I meditate for server reasons and purpose. I meditate before I pratice and then I go within to be at total peace to create the runes that I do or for spell casting. I also meditate before sleep and this I go to a place within my mind, a forest with a stream and each time I visit I add one new thing to the place... like a certain color bird or flower... I also partice yoga which is a form of meditation of the body for me... so it all depends .
I typically see nothing, although it wasn't always like that. It took time and I mean years before I could master it. It does help to bring me down from moods and take away potential Negative Energy.
I can also Meditate with my eyes open but only for about 15 Mins, very hard not to think about anything when you see it infront of you.
I have a Technique I use, i'm not sure if it's considered "Meditation" but Basically I focus on a Brick Wall, with Solid Concrete behind it. Beyond the Concrete I am Encased in wall to wall Mirrors only reflecting myself. The harder I focus, the less possible it is for others to "Read" me or figure me out.
But it is very tiring.
When I meditate I go to the ocean and float in the water totally relaxed.
i don't really go anywhere or see anything that i can describe i go to another place ( might be because i meditated on acid when i was young)
The place changes depending on my mood and reason for meditation
I mediatate anywhere and everywhere. I don't need a specific place to pay attention, to hear what I should be hearing.
I use meditation as a form of going astral to a place where its peaceful so I can think things out. There are other places that I imagine myself going to as well depending on my mood. Yes there are times that I do see faces that are not clear but I assume that its not meant for me to see them clearly at the time.
I just work on clearing my mind....if I try to pick a place I get to many memories that have to do with each kind of place
i like to go to the woods i see alot of people they're almost ghost lke
When I meditate I envision myself walking slowly down a dirt path that is lined on either side with trees and other foliage. The sky above me is overcast and gray, but not enough to warrant rain. The path I travel leads over the horizon, and no matter how far I walk, there is no end in sight. Spiritually, this could signify that my meditation is about the journey, not the destination.
At least, that's what I think.
Im uselly do it home. But it also happen in the forrest or where i feel calm
I can successfully meditate almost anywhere as long as there are not a lot of distractions. Outside is nice but inside works well too. When I start a meditation I am usually starting with a theme but whatever comes to mind comes to mind. I have been meditating for almost 15 years. It’s a good way to fall asleep. I’ll tell you that.
well uselly i just sit in my living room and clear my head of everything and breath and uselly i dont see to much mostly just listen for voices but sometimes i do see like people who have past on but not always.
I have a quiet happy place of a lake that I grew up around when I was in my teens. I used to sit at the shore and stare over the water looking at the canyon beyond and ponder all of lifes mysteries. It was so lovely I have never forgotten it.
i don't follow it but i hear it is good for the mind body and spirit
I clear my thoughts and go to a field. A house is in the field and I go into the house where it is quiet and still.
ok, I know this sounds weird but, I don't meditate. When I was young I tried it once and although I can't remember much. It was a very scarry experience. I had a strong feeling that I wouldn't come back if I did it again. Not sure why..it was just to freaky to me.
Being asian my family all meditates..It's part of their religion.
I know why I am so different.
