I found an interesting article about a fairy corse that was found

A CRAFTSMAN IN England has posted on his website photos of what he claims to be a mummified fairy located in Derbyshire, England. What is unusual about the photos compared to the usual paranormal images, either of live or of dead cryptids (unknown animals) is that there are many of them, in full color, from multiple angles, with proper resolution, and with enough nearby objects for size comparison. Many images that I have written about on the web in the past, such as those of the Myakka skunk ape, a supposed shunka wara’kin, and the solitary de Loy’s ape photo, are suspect due to their limitations in quality and quantity, so it’s nice to have so many images to work from.



now the person writing the article thinks this pic is a hoax and goes into deal why he thinks it is.. personally i think it could be real.. but thats just my opinion.. Do you beleive in fairies and if so what do you think of the image.

this is awesome my friend. im not sure if i beleive that it is real or a hoax. but granted it is truly very interesting to say the least.

It looks real. You never know though, I am the "see it to believe it" person. So I would have to see it in real life. Very interesting though. =D

My first impression is that it is fake... something about the wings just makes me think this way...

I was looking online for more pictures of it. The website is no longer up and running, the one created by the man who had it. I did find a forum where this was posted as an explanation supposedly from the man who created it. I am looking for more information.

I hope you have not been offended by the events of the past few days but if you are I sincerely apologize. It took 50 years for the Cottingley fairies to be revealed as a hoax; at least you’ve only had to endure a few days of mystery.

I will be adding a section to by website to document the Derbyshire Fairy, please let me know if you’d like to be updated.

interesting pictures. I think that it is fake, something about the wings throws it off for me, they should be more frail looking, plus he IS a craftsman, right?

To me, the wings look like leaves, but that is just from my first glance... I would have to spend some time studying it.....

That is pretty good. I do wonder how he made the wings, they look like silk leaves.

I think the belief in fairies, or anything of such a fantastical nature, says nothing about the object of faith, but the person of faith themselves. I think it shows a touching, desperate desire for something tangible that is more than what we are. Most people look at believers in fairies and such things as crazy, but then, most people believe in some kind of God or other. I think both show the same longing for an intrinsic magic in ourselves that connects us with something...else.

That's really kool I would have loved to see it alive (that is if it's real)

In light of information above from the creator of the creature, my own personal opinion is this is a well done hoax. Also, none of the fairies I know look like that.

the wings dont look right.. but then again .. i never saw a fairy so dont know what wings look like.. if this guy crafted this .. he really did an awesone job because body looks like it could actually be real

Very interesting indeed, and yes I do believe in fairies. If this is real, imagine how beautiful it must have been when it was alive.

It looks very interesting, and I think it could be real. Unfortunately, with it so mummified it looks more like clay and plastic. But I do believe faeries are real, and that it is a possibility of this being one from decades or more ago.

I dont know about the fairy picture. I want to believe its real... but I cannot be sure because they pic is not really clear on the fairy part... but the rest of the pic is... I think it might be fake because you cant see the face or anything.. but u can see the writing on the paper. I do believe fairies (or pixies) are real. But fairies not being careful so that we dont disturb them.. I think their more clever!!

thats a cute pic and all... and i would like to see real fairys.. but i think that the wings look a bit weired... i think its a bird with things added to it... but i have never seen a real fairy yet... and i really dont know.. but it sure would be kool

Even if it is a fake that's one hell of a talented artist. It has great detail on every aspect. Who knows? Who is to say that little winged people never existed our planet is very old after all look at the reaction of people when they discovered dinosaur bones!!

The first picture I looked at the image screamed at me 'fake fake fake!' Why? Because of the wings. Not only are they extremely well preserved, but they are not crumpled in the least. Now, as it is a hoax.. he could've made it look 'more real' by having the wings look damaged and less leaf-like.

Personally, I do believe in fey, but I think of them smaller than the pictures depicted, maybe 1/2-1/4 the size it was and it's skeletal figure shaped differently.. Also, the wings were too large for the body, although appropriate for the size..

I do belive there is the possibility of fairies, but at the same time the picture is set up to perfectly. (don't mind the misspellings) as with most the wings look like leaves, so that isn't very reassuring. the body looks to good to be dead, unless this was mummified there should be some decomposing of the body, even egeptian mummies had some.

Fairies maybe, but I believe the one in the photo is a clever hoax. The wings are obviously made from leaves. Plus this person wants you to believe these are police eveidence photos, if they are how did he get them? Did anyone else notice the police evidence bag is to small to put it in without damaging the alleged fairy?

itz uncertain if itz real or not b/c u can make fake pics like that, using a hand made doll that looks like a fairy so i dont think itz real

Im sure there was a thread about this same article a few months back on VR, & the person that posted it had found a site that determined that it really was a fake, with proof

Lovely hoax.
Someone already pointed out that the wings should be more deteriorated, or not there at all. If something is dead that long the flesh on an area that delicate would be gone. The wings would be more of just the bones, not much of the actual flesh.

I believe in Fairies, and it would have been nice to believe it was real but as it was proved to be that is a well drawn up hoax by a very clever person..

Heard about this article when it first came out, and even then it looked like a hoax

my point of vew is this ... it very well may be real do i think that it could be ..perhaps one thing is true if we wish it to be then it is

i got an email with all that stuff in about the mumified fairies and i really didnt know whether to believe it or not as they look so realistic but nowadays things like that can be easily created so it very likely it a hoax although id like to believe their real

It was found out that the guy who supposedly found that, his friend was a professional, & wouldn't of found making that faery difficult

it looks a bit made up to me....with the ammount of technogy out there, in both photoshop programs and in creature affects shops, its hard to judge something like this real without a scientists actually disecting it and finding proof it was a real organism.....

You couldn't know unless you were right there holding it, but it is pretty neat to look at.

Well it is fake, but wow what a great job he did on it only part was the wing's they do look like leave's ..but have to say awesome artwork....

I think it looks real. But yet somebody could have just take some material to look like beat up old wings and but it on a dead animal or someting. Distgusting I know but that could of happened.

I believe that it is real, I mean who would go in to exact detail on an object to bring fame to them selves when it is the faeries that are centered the most.

It's not that I won't 'buy' anything out of the norm as we know it... this just doesn't sell me.

Anything can look real with a little photoshop talent.

i have worked with photoshop before...that person would have had to take a very long time to make that photo...i mean, to get all the details in it, the wings may be photoshop but the body is definently something to think about!

I love faeries, but I've gotta say that that picture looked fake to me from the get-go... that, and I have a hard time believing the climate conditions in England would be appropriate for a body as such to mummify... as well as the whole erosion factor and how long that faerie would have needed to be there in order to mummify.

As to the existence of faeries... maybe they do, maybe they don't. I am a believer, personally, although it's one of my only really 'out there' beliefs. ;)

I have always believed in faeries and dragons but to be able to say i believe that the image in the photo is genuine....i'm not too sure

I could have sworn I posted in this one once but when I looked through I didn't see me so I will post again.... I think it is a possibility but I got to thinking about it and I don't know if the circumstances behind the corpses petrification are pure.... There may have been some leaves that just so happened to be laying there when the little one died and when things started to do their thing they fused together.... but that is the sceptic in me... I personally think it is a great find and I hope they are unable to disprove it cause I believe it is real...

I don't know and I don't care if it's real. All I know is I like playing with dead things and that's close enough. lol I agree about the wings looking off for some reason.

i have no doubt that fairy is real -- at last the proof i've waited for -- i must tell Tinkerbell.

Plus the calf bones are bent in a weird way, I think.

It is a neat story and I like the photos even if it is a hoax. I still believe and am open minded about the Fae's existence.

Dont know for sure if it is real or not, never seen a real fairy but I do believe in them, the fae are creatures who prefer thier privacy after so many follies with humankind, that is why they created the veil between the worlds, according the the old stories my granda and gramma used to tell.

If it was sold on Ebay, you know it has to be fake. Considering a scientist and the government would want to keep it. Study it further and everything else. I don't believe they exist. I believe that are fairy-tales.

I, personally, had always anticipated fairies to be more of a spiritual phenomenon rather than a physical phenomenon.

Although I am of greater open minds, I don't truly believe in the existence of fairies. I am agnostic to the concept.

I'm no expert & I believe them to be real but it's probly a hoax or Mutation as from my understanding, Fairies & Pixies reside on a different plane of existance, & only people with attuned senses see them so how could one actually find bones or a body in this plane?

I would truly like to believe that fairies and pixies exist, but I don't get the feeling of this being real. Only way to know is for someone to do an autopsy to see if it is...

I live in Derbyshire and have never heard of this story. We have loads of prehistoric stone circles etc in the Peak District so there is plenty of visible examples of lost traditions but no I find this too bizarre sorry :-(

i would love it to be real, but the Author raises to many good points. Biased as he may be, he is right.

The hair being rather identical to human hair, and the face's resemblence to a monkey says it for me. Along with the wings.
Though i dont think the author has much ground when he thinks people see fairies as having a human form. If they are real, nobody has seen them, so how do we know that they do look like humans?

I think that the article raised a lot of interesting points about the find. Really the way I see it, if there's a supernatural / metaphysical little being that can be invisible and use magic, then the idea of finding a corpse after it dies is a little hard to believe to begin with.

You either believe in the supernatural faerie and you don't expect to find a dead one, or you believe that you'd have to find a body and therefore don't believe in faeries. Because as the article points out, a faerie that has to follow standard biology and rules of anatomy can't exist. That doesn't mean that a metaphysical or supernatural faerie doesn't exist, it just means that you won't find a body (at least not one with normal physiology like normal bones or brains)

I believe in faries sometimes but the pic might be a hoax its hard to tell when ppl r always afraid of something that is different and make something up so u change ur mind constantly. For now I Believe.

that is the most fascinating thing i've seen/ read in a long time! i would hope that it was real, so the creatures could be studied and we could learn from them.

Honestly i have never heard of such a finding..anything could b a hoaz..and im not sure how i feel..it could b..but i like to keep and open mind..so if there were more evidence to support this finding i might believe it...

I wouldnt be one to judge it a hoax right away though it may be. We don't really know what is out there. The earth was run by dinosaurs before with dragon flies well over 3 feet long and all that jazz. Now it seems we are finding a new species every year. *shrugs* As far as I know, it is possible....
