What is your interpretation of EVIL?
what is it to you? what are the traits that it posses In order for you to call something Evil? (why would you call that something or someone evil?) what makes it evil? what ever that (it) may be!

First off Evil just isnt the devil. It is a feeling, a gut renching heart breaking feeling

Honestly their are not to many things that i would judge as evil, i mean if someone killed a person chopped up their body and fed it to the neighborhood dogs then that i would consider evil...

their is no evil or at least it as many emotions and ideals are is lingering and the people we call evil in society are usually just like toddlers playing with hate. they use it as a mask and the true good inside them (which i beleive to be good beyond the shallow ideals society has of 'good') is always their and the only thing you take with you in death. i still beleive in pure evil though but i beleive such people where born to that fate.

Evil is kind of a hard thing for me to describe. My perception of evil is a little odd. People who cause harm intentionally to me are evil...but there are varying levels of evil. For example...you have to have a darkness to you to be able to lie to someone, but is that darkness the same for someone who lies about where they are compared to someone who is cheating on a spouse? No, of course not. Obviously, the highest level of evil are those who cause physical harm (such as abusers, rapists, murderers, etc). These people are the definition of evil. But again...is the level or amount of evil the same between someone who falls asleep at the wheel of a car and kills someone, and someone who kills the little old lady next door because she smells funny? Again, no.

I don't know. Evil is all about perception, and the capacity you have inside of you to cause harm to another person (or animal for that matter). Evil is a hard thing to measure or define.

Ithink that evil is harmfull, devious, rude, mean, and spitefull

Evil, would be the most sacred acts of voilence toward any living and or dead thing to either spite, ridicule and or torture such things. Thus to satisfy a very deep craving the practitioner of the evil deeds mean to sate. Whether they be words, mental and or physical harm.

Evil lies within one’s perception. Not everyone thinks being rude, in a grocery line, to an elderly citizen is evil. To defile someone or something innocent in my eyes is evil, and is by no realm of reasoning the only thing I use to distinguish what evil is or can be. I’ve encountered other individuals who disagree with me. Evil can be a state of mind or a state of being. Again, perception is vital to it’s very inception.

Evil lies in the mind of the beholder..same as anything else.

evil is the opisite of light. but u can not have one with out the other. to me evil is all in the eyes of the beholder. what may be evil to someone may not be seen the same way by some one else.

i guess what i am tring to point out is even when u think u maybe doing good u may be in fact may be pulling ur soul in to the darkness. u have to see ur self doing what ever act u may be doing at the time.

Evil to me is someone who kills with no remorse or concense and someone who kills inccent children or women.

I believe evil is inherent in each of us and it is the spiritual part of us that either overcomes or succumbs to it. It is something that we control or become controlled by. Two types of people embrace it, posers and and true fiends.

To me something that is evil is influenced by greed of any sort. people who kill someone to steal their money that is evil but people who kill someone to protect a loved one is not. It just depends on the whole picture

Evil manifests by causing pain, termoil, and distress in others.

Killing, stealing, inflicting pain, mental and emotional torture, these things are the obvious evil actions. Even if the act is performed for a "greater good" it is still evil in its application.

Evil can even manifest in simple things, like taking pleasure in seeing others in pain or distress. Things simple as getting enjoyment out of watching an ultimate fight, a dog fight, the resulting meyham of a bad auto accident or enjoying the results of scaring a baby to make it cry.

evil is what seek to hurt, or hurt but not ina good or constructive way, for exemple, a child will not listen and will end up actually hurting others the parents will punish but for the good, it can be a simple slap on the hand, taking away a toy, anything, that is not evil it hurt the hcild but for a better behavior that will benefit the child and the others, evil will actually be causing harm of planing on it to thers for the simple pelasrue of hurting and with no remors or second taugh, and no reasons to do it.

Evil is anything that causes pain, distruction, misery, anything along those lines. Evil is meant to make you feel bad not good. Evil is negative. This is how I think of evil.

To me, the term evil is a subjective one. Its whatever goes against the norm and the standard level of acceptance.

For example, some might consider cannibalism to be very,very evil. However to some tribes it is a perfectly accepted thing.

evil to me, is in degrees...and those degrees range according to actions. Evil is anything done for selfish means. If you agree with the girl/boy you like, that they break up with their significant other after a tiff...just so you can get with her/him...evil. that is the lower end of the spectrum. The have someone killed that may be a stumbling block to your success....a bit higher on the spectrum of evil

I would agree with that...but a conscience is something that is taught. You are taught that doing certain things is wrong as you grow up...so doing these things makes you feel as though you are bad for doing them. Mostly conscience is fear of being caught, guilt, and anxiousness over reprimand. There is, of course, an element of excitement for the above named things. People who were never taught certain things were wrong...do not have the same "conscience" that others do. For instance...we know cannibalism is wrong...and we would most likely be horrified by seeing or participating in it. People raised as cannibals, in cannibalistic tribes...don't have that same viewpoint...you are just another food source to them. So, therefore, conscience, is relative to your upbringing and "the law" that you were taught to go by.

I do not beieve in evil. I believe there are people who should be locked up or death penalty because they are bad for the rest of us but good and evil are just labels used. Thou shall not murder unless it is defending yourself Thou shall not steal but if it is to feed your starving kids most think it is ok. It is a good thing to teach people to keep them on the straight and narrow path

evil does not exist. nor does good. there are only actions and consequences for actions. no one person can quantify evil and no one person can quantify good. it's as subjective as the grey area, being neither entirely black or white in nature. evil, rather, is in the eye of the beholder. what some might consider evil, others will do willingly in the name of self-advancement.

Evil can be considered many different things to each individual, alot on how one thinks.
I feel to be murderous or heartless to cause extreme harm or death is evil. yet many may think other stuff or even something simple that another may do.

Such a great word. Rearrange the letters and you have "vile" which is a good interpretation of evil. Rearrange again and you have "live" an if you live you have known evil. And rarrange again and you have veil, evil in life is often covered or hidden.

Lack of a conciense. No remorse, no understanding. Even the best of people can do something wrong, but it is the understanding that what was done is wrong that separates good and evil.

To me Evil is someone whom can cause harm or death to someone or something with out any remorse or feelings as to what they did/ do to them. I also feel that evryone has their own thoughts on what they feel is evil due to things that have happened to them in their life.

Anyone that would harm children~ they have no defense. That is evil. People that would point there fingers at a neighbor and accuse them of being a witch (in the old times when it would mean their torure and death). People that would take what belongs to someone else~ it doesn't matter their excuses~ there is none ( I suppose that would fall under greed.)

I don't believe that their is a force that is evil until man makes it that way with his/her actions. evil does exist because some people do terrible things.

actually, i believe in evil as a force. i have been to places that feel wrong, and i have sensed an atmosphere that i can only describe as evil.

i have often heard the nine eleven terrorists as "evil", but they gave their lives to take the lives of many others because they believed it was right to do so, and that their sacrifice would ensure a place in heaven for them. their argument is that their victims were evil because they were sinners and worked for a system that causes misery and poverty. so who is right?

I think that pure evil would be the absolute absence of good. Someone that is not even capable of acting in a good way at all. I think a true sociopath would be as close as we get to pure evil.

What did it feel like? Pure concentrated malevolence, without reticence, a look outside my experience, not human. Not angry, or tinged with remorse, or curiousity.

Well for my personal views, yes I think things can be evil and yes people can be evil by ding evil things.

The Catholic Church, has deemed anthing that is againt them as Evil. And that is very sad. For example. My son, who has been raised Pagan for the last 9 of his 1o years of life stated this to me. We were playing a game and he had two stuffed animals one was a white bear and the other a red and black spider, he gave the bear to his father and the spider to me and when I asked him why he gave me the spider he stated, " because You are evil Mommy, Grandma said so."


Now that about made my blood boil, here we have a innocent child who has been taught about many different types of religion, and is now being forced to attend catholic religion, because hsi grandmother fears for his soul.

So telling a child his mother is evil because of a religious choice she has made, is in my book an evil deed, that is taking away a wil of a child and I believe that taking away any ones free will is evil.

Now for people being Evil, yes I believe that is possible. When a person or people with a sane mind take another life or lives yes I honest believe that makes them an evil person. But that is just my opinion and that is one thing that is still free in this country !

I believe that evil is a part of life. It is the negative aspect of living, the bad things that none the less still cause us to grow in some way. There are people out there that are the seemingly pure definition of the negative of life (murderers, serial rapists, ect.). But in the greater scheme of things these people are balanced out with the positive people.

The "balancing" definition doesn't work for me. It's not "if a tree falls in the woods, and there's no one there to hear it, so does it make a sound?" kind of an argument.

Each of those values --- good and evil --- exist exclusive of each other. They are only tethered in a relative sense because of a value system based on human actions.

I believe that humans are capable of absolute good and absolute evil. And that all the exceptions across cultures, and history, are insignificant when compared to what most people would say is good for most people.

I believe that anybody that can harm another human being or animal without just cause is evil. I also believe that people can be born evil. although they don't show it at first but start showing signs at a very early age.

It just depends on how you look at it, the christian world would say evil is bad the satanic world would say its just LIVE spelled backwards.

Personally to me, doing other people physical & mental damage purposely is evil. There are so many forms of it.

Once a friend of mine was experimenting with astral projection. She brought something back with her; she asked me to help. During the cleansing I saw through in my minds eye the entity that had attached itself to her. It was a feeling I will never forget, a hatred that was beyond my understanding. An infinite darkness that my words pale to describe. I felt wave after wave of hate washing over me, it wasn't a hate because of what I was doing, or even directly at me; It was a hate of all things simply because they existed. Eventually the link was broken and my friend was fine. That feeling though, when I looked upon that spirit will stay with me for the rest of my life.

Some one is considered evil immediatly evil, if he acts opposite from someones interests, and that clashes.

While interests may combine, and the mind sees the same evil thing, not as evil any more, but as a fulfillment of ones ego. Of a wish.

Now it depends what kind of person are you, what your wishes are.

Maybe you wanna kill that cat that is pissin on your doorstep for days, and maybe your neigbhour wants it too for the same reason, but maybe he doesnt, and you are an evil monster.

to me evil is someone that harms someone or something with malice in their heart. for example someone who goes around beating other people just for the fun of it, someone who rapes others , someone who kills for the fun of it. and no i am not talking about hunters but to me if u hunt and kill a animal and just leave it there to rot that is just wrong also.

Say a man rapes and murders a child, and even after he is caught and put on trial he still feels nothing but the want/need to do it again. If you can lookin to their eyes and see nothing but pure evil. It's like looking into the pits of hell, it gives you a chill that won't go away. Someone who is needlessly cruel, viscious, or vindictive I would consider evil. I have seen people start trouble just to watch two other people fight. That's evil. Sending people to their deaths needlessly is something I would consider extremely evil, in my opinion.

One of my favorite authors sorta explained this one in a way I liked. JK Rowlings had the character of Albus Dumbledore tell Harry Potter in some many words that it is a person's choices rather than their abilities that defines who they are.

I think the same thing about evil. As human beings we have free will and make choices. I think some evil people have made a choice to do things that would make others define them as bad or not very good of character. Sure, there is the mentally ill who cannot make the choice for themselves and do things we all find evil. Those people are plain sick and I do not think without the mental illness they would be evil.

It's human stupidity that's evil. People may look at an untrained dog and say that it's "bad" and "evil". But did they ever stop to think that if they trained it, it'd do right? Only in the human race do you see children starving in the street. Only in humans to you see pleasure derived from killing one of his own kind. Only in humans do you see pollution, filth, murderers, and rapists. Do you see wolves leaving their pups out to die? Do you see beavers cutting down whole forests to build condos? Do you see bears throwing trash everywhere? Think about it. Humans fuck up everything, complain about how they're all dying, and then still do NOTHING about it! WTF?!?!?! It's not necessarily humans that are evil, just they're stupidity but it's there and it's evil all the same.

To me, evil is a religious term used to discribe actions of intolerable cruelty. Anything that falls between societies so called fine line of the 10 commandments.

I am religious by no means, I am Pagan, this does not make me religious, nor a tree hugger. My apologies for throwing names around. But evil to me is in the eye of the beholder. One individuals fun is in fact anothers hell.
