are you able to cast spells through the sound of music or words in a song? is there something magic about music?
if so have you been able to do it your self,, or seen it done?
well music does bring out emotions so it is possible that listening to music before or during a certain spell can help in adding energy to your spells.
have never actually tried it but i guess it could help depending on the music and the spell your doing.
yes, what do you think "I have been talking about all this time?
yes I have be in a circle where chanting and singing were used to cast a circle.
Is that what your asking??
I believe it can be done, but I personally have never seen it been done nor can I do it myself.
Nearly every time I focus my energy on something, I have music playing. Music helps me concentrate in general so I think it's a fantastic way to center yourself enough to accomplish something.
I believe that music can help one concentrate more fully on the ritual that they need to, therefore aiding in the casting of the spell.
I have never done it or seen it, but I believe it to be true. Music... is very emotional, very evocative, and very powerful!
I once was in a group that wanted to cast a rain spell but since most of the people there didn't know how to do it, they turned the spell into a song.
It rained that night... pretty hard to... and it wasn't int he forecast. idk if it was the spell or just coincidence, but a lot of people in the group felt it was the spell.
Music is a magic in itself. I'm sure its possible, never seen it done before though.
Absolutely. It's energy, so if you focus your will and properly project it, it should work just like a spell.
Just my opinion though.
I have heard that Playing classical music can help children become smarter. I don't have info to back this up, but i think it helps both sides of the brain activate. If this is true the why not to help attune a spell.
Any time I attend a ritual or circle music is always associated with what is being done. With chanting and drums.
as a wiccan who professes that music is a very important part of life-yes.
in fact, invigorating music can strengthen an aura, heal injuries an create a general more peaceful (if not healthy) environment and mood.
why do you think they say to play music to your child, even before they're born? science reinforcing religion, people.
Because music has vibration in it and everything has it's own vibration, that s how we can cast spells, ect. with music. That is how witches raise the Cone of power sometimes....
yeah I don't think music itself is magic but yes I can see using it to focus or add to the energy you are putting into a spell. Like someone else said as well there are a lot of spells that use music and chanting.
probably it has something to do because in some spells i have seen, you have to write some words, exactly what you want to get, and repeat it like a song... so you have to actually put a melody to those words and repeat them as a mantra...
i think that they could be perfectly related...
why not, music have always in every times opend doors.
I've never done it myself but I don't see why it can't be done. I can see music as a type of spell that affects people's emotions.
well almost all spells have a chant or musical saying for them in my spells so I feel it is more powerful when chanting or using music. It brings out more emotion and also I feel it is more intune with nature when doing so.. I am wiccan and was always taught to use some kind of music or chanting to enpower the spells I use .
No I don't think so, because to cast a spell you have to feel it. Music isn't like that. With music, you feel a different feeling.
Music can be used in spellcraft. Often music is combined WITH spells, chants, or rituals in order to further assist you in making the spell work.
I have never tried that. But it is possible depending i think on the spell or maybe the music.
I also agree that you could for both. Especially as others point out how music affects the human psyche. Both animal and human brains are affected by harmonics. Should be easy and more effect to blend that with magic.
even more... some tones and melodies are specially done to create mental states... hypnosis, for example, can be reached while singing a certain mantra.
I think it also has to do with the level of the tones that are used and the spiritual will
I defo believe it can be done, i have neva done it myself tho
i think music in its self is magic the words can stir u up make u cry
muusic is a way of expressing ur self and there are always underlinig themes or saying in the music so i believe it is possible but i have yet to try
yeah, definitely. most spells that i've ever seenor heard sound like a poem or a song. music carries great, immense power. it feeds the soul which i think is where the power for spell casting comes from. and yes, i have seen magic practiced, but not just singing a regualr song...but a spell that was very much like music...
Indeed.
There is a reason it is said that music soothes the savage beast.
As long as music os used for relaxation, for concentration and other things related and it has been proven the various effects of certain types of music, I guess it could be used to perform some incantations or some spells...
The problem might reside in which music and in which way do you use that music, for concentration or as a tool for the effects of the spell...
I would have to say yes. Any chant I've ever said tends to take on some form of rythym and/or melody.
Native Americans and many of the earths ancient civilizations changed and used music in the ceremonies and rituals.
The power and emotion of music can definitely be harnessed and used in magic.
if music can be used for harnessing emotions and magic, then could the same be said for art? does negative art ad music also effect the sense of magic and its applications?
wow, the whole native american culture is based upon using dancing as a form of raising power to prepare for hunting and battle, to celebrate victories and mourn losses, and also to aid in times of need. now i am sure that there are other cultures that use this today, but as a pagan, it's not like i crack out some *&^% Metallica everytime i light a white candle or two...lol...
Actually I do believe so because when I walk somewhere I always sing to myself. When I improve all the words I sing I swear the weather changes. Its relle strange. It doesnt work when I am singin sum1 elses song tho.
I am a firm believer that music is linked in some way to magic and magic to music.. I am a channel and always seem to slip into trances while listening to music. I write some of my best spells while listening to music.
No SLEEPEREFFECT,it is not the same with art.Art,does not penetrate dimension or matter.Nor does it resonate.Art does not kill or generate life.Art cannot put out fires or generate them.I could go on and on but I think you get my point. But good thought though.;)
Everyone who has children or has been a child knows that sounds have magical properties... the simplest form of it at least. lol
When someone hears their full name they automatically stop which is technically considered a form of magic.
I might be changing my mind about the art thing SLEEPERPERFECT..
Im thinking that perhaps it is to a degree, but deff. not on the same scale.
Thanks for bringing it up.:)
yes i do believe that music plays a big part inspell casting when your emtions are set to the music as in chanting it just makes the spell and the experence more energenic..
yes i do believe so to, music works on me so why no help with spells.
Yes the right music can cause focus or emotional release.
Music is personal and tribal, so what works for you wont for others.
As for music and spells … I mix mine with a dance or two that gets the crowd cheering.
As I release my energy into the room I get girls jumping up to join the orgy of movements and jives … then I drain the energy around … it’s quite the workout. Lol
There are many spells that use music so yes. Its the spoken word that goes along with it that counts.
music is a powerful thing, but I don't know about casting spells....
I do it all the time, music has all the Elements with in it Earth,Air Fire Water Spirit. Some music is better than others, but I find it helps me a great deal.
KA
I have never done it myself, but I'm sure it can be done.
Yes,it can be done.
The main reason some music is better than others is because of the frequency it generates.Certain frequencies correlate and allow for the user to adjust and maintain the body's frequency to coencide with the desired frequency.Different frequencies do different things. Some kill, some heal and some generate life.Again,I suggest taking a look at cymatics, this will give you an idea in visual of what Im talking about.I have vids in my journal if interested.
,If you would like to know more on this, just let me know.:)
I just happened to look over my post... way up there. I meant 'chanted' not 'changed'.
Well I do believe so and I have never seen it done but you must confess music does have a way of changing your feelings and the way you think..
Music is like the moonlight it casts it spell in a very subtle way, but definitely has an effect on people.
And if Dolphins can use sonic or sonar waves through water to re-arrange the human genetic templates,I think that would be an indicator that sound is much more than simply pretty and soothing sounds.
There are several references throughout most Mythologies around the world of people and creatures using Magick in the form of music. Sirens, Enchanters, Hypnotists. Musical Voices and even Magickly enhanced instruments were used in many cultures. Sound frequencies can do everything from alter brain patterns to shatter objects. Could an unkown song cord cause vibrations in the air to turn tornadoes? Or even cause rain to fall? There very well may be. Some call it magick. Others science. But Music and sound have a power all thier own.
That is an absolute yes.
Sound can do exactly that..and more.
For me music has always held a higher meaning in my life. I don't cast spells to it as much as I center myself to it. Without music surrounding me, it is extremely difficult to clear my mind. I just close my eyes and let the sound carry me away.
music has been known ot be powerful, it can make you laugh, cry on queue, can make you feel weak, strong, can even make you do things youdont expect, cause music is able to triger synaps in the brina causing you to obey on its comand so music and magic combine..could turn out to be more then dangerous.
Well for those who know what anime is you can see on it about naruto just look it up by that name then find out about the sound ninja.
Might want to look into the Akasha field or Torsion fields ... ;) It will help you understand how music fits with magic.
I have never been good with spells or meditation in general, but music does help from what everyone tells me.
There is a belief that everything around us was/ is created by music. I have also heard, and no clue where, that vampires are created/ born from song. The Healing arts in Lemuria was based on music and harmony of the body with its surroundings. And I have personally used tuning forks to do healing with immediate results. As for the magic and rituals that some here know of, is not chanting not music?
I believe music calms the mind and can send a person into a trance state. Drumming has been used for thousands of years to help shamans reach such states. I can't imagine it would be any different with modern magic users, and a calm and clear mind is the most powerful.
And there were also mention about using the perfect fifth/cord that some gods of legend used. Neptune, for one, used it for calling his dolphins to send his messages.
And yes,the call to the Dolphins :D..but wouldnt it stand to reason? Since sound(sonar) travels farther than light when it comes ot water.

yes i do believe there is magic in music.when someone is down and there luck is turning for the worst, they always sing a tune and somehow the world turns back to right as rain.its not really something that i know a whole lot about but i do believe in it.
Why would it only pretain to a Siren or Bard? Vibration is in everything..once you tap into it,and understand the mechanics, the going gets a hell of alot easier, and new horizions abound..I see so many limit themselves because they just dont want to look at or use one of the biggest tools in magic there is..sound.Hell even the ancients knew all this lng before scientific documentation came into the picture.
Since you brought it up Billy Im going to post a link for those who wish to explore more about the Diapente..or perfect fifth .

My advice is, if you are a practitioner of magic and are not using it in anyway, please, check into it as much as you can before you blow it off as just pertty, hypnotic and mood changing . ..
k? ;)
Thats probably one of the best ways to cast spells or do anything of that nature, kind of like chanting...
I can't talk for others, but in my native traditions most healing and bear walking rituals are done in song, but of course along with just reciting the words as well.
And they are a very magical people with traditions passed down for generations.
their has to be some magic in music or better yet music can bring out the magic in you
