There are some covens on here who are dedicated to watching out for the younger members, though unfortunately some of them will refuse such help if it's offered. And there are, I'm sure, some people on the Rave who do not hold to the ethical standards many of us do; it's a shame, but again, it's their choice. It's also the choice of the teens in some covens to share info about the people who contact them with inappropriate offers, and I'm glad those teens are taking it upon themselves to do that.

I'm 16 and I've been on this site since Jun 26 2005. For me its more of a problem of older men, seeing how far they can get with me. Twenty, thirty, and even forty year olds have pulled that with me. I find it completely repulsive and thats when its time to hit the block button.

No where on my profile in bold letters does it say anything about me being into that.

Whenever I go out to go skating there are a bunch of children from the 5th grade up that dress provocatively and are hanging all over members of the opposite gender. Its very disturbing that people of that young an age are doing things like that.

well i have to say my personal opinion is this site is nothing for kids. I wouldent let my kid (if i had one) create a profile here at so young age as up to 15 year. Even that is in some ways to young. But that is just my opinion.

Everyone acts different. I don't think that teenagers should be treated any differently or not allowed on the site because of stuff like this. One kid cannot speak for us all just like one adult cant either.

My 14 yeqr old had a profile on here for one day and some perv messaged her telling her how hot she was. I freaked and deleted her profile.. and sent him a not so nice message.

However, my 17-year-old cousin isn't someone I'd consider to be mature enough to handle things on this site appropriately.

It all varies depending on the individual. And I must agree with the person who said that banging everything in sight doesn't make you grown up; in fact, it's being able to restrain yourself from trying to sleep with anything that moves that is one of the indicators I use to judge if someone is somewhat grown up...

you have kids here that are looking for sex, you also have kids on here with kids with profiles that are sreaming for a mental tune-up too, and you have kids here that are needing law enforcement attention ... at some point some one is going to be held accountable

eh... I used not to believe it (like when I was 15) but theres just some places younger kids need to wait for.

I was at this outdoor party this one time, and a buncha high schoolers showed up and started boozing it up. After watching most of them drink till passing out, I realized that a lot of them just didn't have the exerience or self control to handle that kinda event.

I know that a lot of them don't want to hear it (God knows I didn't) but you just gotta chill till you've gained enough knowledge under your belt.

Because you have to be able to tell the difference between the two, yes it affects everyone. I am glad that there are so many on here that take the steps to stop the kids from doing such things.

There should be a reporting system that VR should have in place that if there is a problem with a member and we don't want to deal with it or feel that it needs to be handled better than we should be able to send the user name to someone with a reason and/ the messages so it can be investigated further. Blocking can only do so much till they latch on to someone else.

Polishsiren- if that is possible that would be a great idea. Not only for children but for adults who receive messages from other adults, were it is overly sexual.

Making this site 18 plus wouldn't do anything. All someone would have to do is put in an age over 18, so obviously that suggestion is invalid.

Just like with Myspace, it started out as being an 16+ site and now you have 12 year olds on there.

Most 18+ sites require credit card information, MBK. It's sites that are under 18 that even a 5 year old can go on..because you don't need anything for them.

Honestly...I think that having kids on here is fine with parental supervision. I have friends on here who allow their children on..but they monitor their children closely. For those who are on here that are 16+...it comes down to personal responsibility. If they are encouraging adult interaction sexually I think that it should be documented and them suspended indefinitely. They are allowed to be here however I've seen it said many places that Cancer did not design the site to cater to them.

It is not my responsibility to watch out for the children on the Rave. I am not their parents. I also did not sign up to be anyone's babysitter or safe keeper.

If one were to message me and request some thing that a child should not request, then yes I will block them.

Some children need to be monitored closely. If that is the case, it's their parents job. Not Mine.

They have come along way with programs to see what someone is doing online.

The site being 18 and over is just outlandish. There is NO secure and fool proof way to be able to tell that each and every person is 18. Or even 16.

Some people do not have credit cards to 'prove' their info. I refuse to have one after cancelling all the ones I had due to problems.

People should not be penalized if they do not, or can't, get some form of credit card.

But in seriousness...BECAUSE so many people think of the internet in "unreal" terms..sometimes all it takes is that, when you SEE a minor behaving inappropriately, you personally message them (in private due to embarassment factors) and let them know that the way they're behaving invites predators onto this site..and ask how they would feel if someone were truly harmed because of their behavior. I have done this. It really does work if done in a tactful manner.

Personally I am all up for people under 18 being on this site, however they need to be respectful and obey the tos if they are under 18 they should know better then to hit on someone older or do something to try and promote illegal things

As VR's servers are based in the US, it is US law that applies, and US law considers 15 year olds to be children, as it does anyone under 18.

I suppose you can do whatever with a young adult if it's legal in both your countries, but I wouldn't even if it was legel here, because I haven't run into many people under 20 who are adult enough to handle a sexual relationship, online or otherwise, and I won't do anything with anyone if I don't know they're mature enough to handle it.

I saw a few girls young girls who posted their numbers in their profiles. Not sure if it was real numbers or not but I messaged them saying it wasn't the brightest idea. Sometimes I wish parents would continue talking to their children about "Stranger Danger". He's still out there no matter how old they are and worse on the internet nowadays.

And this is again why parents should be a bit more active in their kids life.

If I had a daughter and I found out she was asking to be someones pet at the age of 15 I would whoop her little tail. We all know the reprucussions as per any legal system when it comes to child crime laws. Let us not ignore the fact that there are children present, and to make aware by any means nessessary the reprocussions of such laws.

The children should know better by the time they reach 15 anywho, those of whom do not, well...That is just ignorance on their part as it is the internet after all. Several of these youngins' have been removed from the site. However it is not always their real age they put on their pages. They could also be in the 20's or older claiming to be 15. So remember that too whilst trying to figure it all out.

I, personally, think this site should be 18 and older. Then again, they would just lie about their age.

I believe if I'm not mistaken I've read somewhere that if it is found out that you are lying about your age your account will be suspended. So it partially comes down to a maturity thing. If you're 11 and act 11 you'll probably be kicked off the site. I don't necessarily think 13 year olds should be allowed on the site but some of the younger ones... such as the ones in my Coven I often forget they are younger because they don't act 13. They know how to conduct themselves in a mature manner while having fun.

When I was 15 to this age, actually when I was alredy 15 I was more mature as many people on my age so It would be stupid to think about whole age group from how some persons act.
Unfortunately what I have seen in the High school and even in Primary school now is that kids act too much for their age. There are many people like that, but a thing needs to be remembered that there are still some who doesn't "go with the flow" with all those things.

Here's the thing: The internet is just a modern tool for deviants, perverts and pedophiles (kind of all the same thing). The best thing any of us can do is educate, communicate and be vigilant with our children.
Unfortunately there are many people that have children but are not "parents".

Everyone could always ask Cancer to implement a code addition like they have done on other community sites and have it to where adult members can toggle on or off it they want under aged members to be able to contact them or even see their profile.

I know Cancer wants this site to be PG-13 and we all have the right to block people but it gets old having 14 and 15 year olds asking you to cyber with them cause there horny and board at school.

Kitsuna – No offence meant to you or any other individuals your age that do conduct themselves well and mature. I have met a few decent younger members and enjoy talking with them. Sadly though one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch. I also know that many adults on here cause problems for the younger crowd. My above comment could work both ways and the younger members could be able to toggle off receiving messages from older members too.

However, as it has been explained to me, Cancer and the other Admins want to help keep a sense of community and openness and having what I suggested would close a lot of doors and close the open feeling of the community. I understand their desire and it is Cancer’s site.

I’ve been told to just keep reporting any problem members and use the block function. Maybe Cancer can put in a toggle button that minimizes the blocked members list so it does not take up so much room. lol

it's not always about how you conduct yourselves ... it's how the adults conduct themselves.

I agree that we as the adults need to watch out for the younger members on this site. VR is not immune to having predators here. We in the Coven of Immortal Sin have created a youth Guardian program for them to come to one of the guardians for assistance. If I find out about someone approaching one of our younger members in teh coven as well as in VR I will then turn them over to VR admin to handle in the appropriate way.

The only under 18 I have on my friends list are the members in our coven.

It is good this discussion have comed . I think the most can actually learn something by reading it.

I have to agree with everyone who has stated before me and regardless it makes no sense to me why a child of that age would even think such things my daughter is 8 and I cringe to think of what I'd do to her if I found out she was doing that when she's a teenager..

Ive seen it happen 2 ways young teens after adults and some adults after the teen. both are inappropriate.
