Violating The Black Veil?

I've been tempted to just ask around, but that would violate The Veil.

Anyone have any idea about how to get blood?

I've actually considered going to a butcher and trying to buy blood, but wouldn't I get a disease from animal blood?

Since the "Black Veil" stands for only a bit of guidelines of how to govern youself, then it would be a matter of opinion.

If you choose to follow such guidelines, then that is your option, but you are not nessessarily breaking such guidelines if you ask within boundaries. After all, you asked here...In my opinion, this is breaking said guidelines in a nutshell...But that is just me.

The Black Veil always comes up. It was an extension from VTM. Sebastian outlined it and Michelle B. expanded u[on it. Those two are only in their 30s. It has existed for a very short time. Many try to follow it because it makes sense but it is no gospel of the community. Many make their own philosophical outline for their individual groups. We are not sheep.

At one point the two of them were fighting about who wrote it in the first place and Michelle spread a hate campaign across the internet against Sebastian. It is made up by those two and has not existed that long. It isn't a given everyone follows it or even wants to follow it. It is a nice logical idea but each organization is just as free to make up their own guidelines. There is no vampire police going to come out and get you if you don't follow it or don't agree with it in total. There are several versions as Sebastian has re-written it in a fashion just for his following. As far as I know there are three. One is used by the community as a whole if they want to but no one is forced to do so.

The Houses vary and not all of them follow the set up of House Kheperu or they do to a degree. It depends on their belief system and there are various sects within the community. Some believe a virus is the way vampires started (a minority view) some believe it is a genetic anamoly, some believe it is spiritual in nature, some believe in symbionts (Winged Wolf) others like Shadowlore believe in star people and there is the angelic connection and annunaki and the list goes on, but most believe you are just born the way you are and don't quantify it beyond that but as varied as this is many do not follow the Black Veil or they acknowledge it but that is that. I personally don't pay any attention to it because as far as I can see it is logical and most would follow the basic outline of it regardless of whether they knew about it or not. It is just good common sense.

I would stay away from personal ads for donors as much as I would stay away from them for anything else. You need to know this individual intimately, otherwise you may very well be risking your health and or life.
Networking, networking, networking. Patience and you will find it or it will find you. Why such a big hurry to get blood? Re-think it. Ask your self why you really need/want it. You might be surpised at the answer.

About the blood finding...sorry left that out. Join a House within the community itself and network. Usually you can find out about donors in your own area via someone in an organization or there are boards where you can go to. Just remember to follow safe practices. These types of things are usually taught in Houses or Councils, Covens or Clans. Some of the major Houses are Kheperu, House Quinotaur, House of the Dreaming, House Eclipse, there is a long list of them. I belong to House St. Gemain from New Orleans and a couple of others and a Council. St. Germain is a shadow house now so it is not taking members at this time. You can join the online group, Haven of Kindred Spirits and learn a lot there. Lady Night Eidolon has a House as well and is well known in the community or you could go to Lady CG's message board and network there. None of these places would be in conflict with this one. There is no monetary gain for them...I don't know if I am breaking any rules mentioning these groups but these are actual community Houses and organizations. Be sure it is someone at least 18 years old and can give legal consent.

This is how I would do it if I needed a donor. Even in here a knowledgeable person in one or all of the houses here could teach about safe donor practices. The information is out there if you know where to look and how to go about finding a donor. Most I know were introduced to their donors in a social setting or something similar.

I don't want to break any rules but if anyone wants to know anything else they can contact me privately. That VR manual is long and I don't have everything memorized so I get a little paranoid about providing too much information.

If you're intimate with someone, bite them (a small nibble, not taking a hunk out of them) and see how they react. You may just find a closet case who you already know and trust... then just let things go from ther.

One correction on the New Orleans houses, House Germain was not shadowed, it was outcasted. As this house is no longer in existance, since the admin of said house moved out of state after Katrina hit, this house is no longer applicable.

In some states they have underground bloodbars that serve kittens blood, I'm sure if you go to the butcher and ask for blood you wont get any sicknesses because then the meat will be contaminated and unsellable.

I fight this same dilema of finding a donor. Let's just say I eat A LOT of medium-rare steak. It helps a little. Just ask your partner if he would agree to a small cut with a utility knife. Have rubbing alcohol there to keep it sterile. There is hardly any pain at all, not near what there would be with biting. The blade is slightly thinker than a razor blade and in my opinion a lot less painful.

Finding blood sure is difficult. No idea how I can get any, though usually I have to satisfy the bloodlust with red meat... lots of red meat.

The Sanguinarium has renounced the act of blood drinking. This is because it is considered too dangerous a practice and do not want any part of it.
The Black Veil was rewritten last year and refers to the "metaphore of blood". You really don't have to follow any rules unless you have taken an oathe to follow the Black Veil and are StrigoiVii.
Common sense however is needed if you need to take blood, and however you take from a doner, once found, it does hurt them and they have to be ok with that. Also any human blood doner must not have any blood borne disease as you can contract HIV, Hepatitis B, C, and E and some STDs. It is too dangerous looking for a doner on the net or through networking for a number of reasons. You will find th right person when it is time among your friends.

The beginning of the previous post is the main reason why I do not support nor acknowledge any part of the "StrigoiVII society. As the guidelines are always changing to suit their means. You cannot satisfy everyone...Just yourselves.

Only those around me in my family know, or those who are adopted bloodkin. I am very careful about it, online it's a different story, seeing as I'm very secluded from the world around.

My suggestion is to talk to your local covens in your area if you know any, they should know somone or somone who knows about doners looking for a master

there's a large element of luck here, if you run in a big city that is a hotspot, not that hard, you just have to get involved in the local community and look for someone suitable to your needs..

if your like me and live not in a hotspot its allllllllllllll luck unfortunately.

i dont feed but i am a donor from time to time for a friend of mine.
only when he is really stressed and need claming....he has others but only comes to me when he is really raging because i am the only one able to calm him.

my donor tends to be out of control too.

This is a very interesting forum/topic. I believe that once you move out, you should go out to a place where you know that will have more acceptance towards this and try to find a donor at that place.

The only real thing that would happen by violating the “Black Veil” as you call it is that “normal” people will laugh at you for being a freak or weird oh’ and chastise you. Other people would think nothing of it and some professionals would recommend that you get “help”.

Common sense does not need a flashy name.

Just be responsible and mind what you’re doing and who is around. A few kids in the local area have been arrested in the past for blood letting and drinking out in open parks and once on a bus if I remember right.

I don't know how you would go about doing it. I do know that when you find someone, know them first. Now a days it is hard to drink from someone you just met. I mean all the "bugs" going around. Just be careful.

if you were to get it from a butcher then you can be quite assured that it is disease free, otherwise the meat from that butcher shop would ALSO cause disease....
however I must warn you....blood for use in blood puddings and blood sausage is treated with an anticoagulant that makes it somewhat strange tasting, seeming thinner than real blood, and rather gamey.
and if you are wondering...I myself am not a sang...but I did work on the killfloor of a meat packing plant and was in the blood collection room for a time...

Actually the few things you can catch from ingesting raw meat you'd get from its blood as well.

There are several online vampire communities and forums online.And many of them have sections within their forums that have listing for donors and those looking for donors.You have to look online hun and do some work.
Drinkdeeplyanddream,Vampire Church,Smoke and Mirrors, St. Louis after dark, just to name a few.Sanguinarius is a great place to find information, I would suggest you look there.It has tips, safety and health issues and concerns.

I mean just because some will accept us does not mean all will and the fallout from a negative reaction can be lead to rather consequences.

Try going through the profile list to see if someone is in your area... you could go to the Sandbox or the Meet up forum and post a thread if anyone is in your state, or near your town. Just a suggestion.

I am still very young in "this world" but i have read from old much wiser ones that we can feed from more than just blood. Energy is another way to meet our fill...Taking energy from other's to help balance your hunger does the trick for a little bit, but you still have that hunger...It kinda numbs it....I'm still learning how to pull that one of.

i personally don't care about the secrecy thing, i have plenty of doner's, and i don't just ask around either, i talk to people until i get to know them and know if i can trust them, then i experiment and then they donate.

Well according to Lady Adriana, it is a Shadow House. There is another House also called St. Germaine but it has an "e" on the end and is an entirely different group. I only know what she has told me and she told me that verbatim.

I am confused by what you are saying...No the Black Veil is some rules those people wrote and Sebastian has a bunch of groups but the main one turned into the Stregoi VII. He now has a list of 5 tenets for his Black Veil and has gone more underground and secretive from the mainstream community and formed even other groups. The House I was talking about was House St. Germain, Lady Adriana's group and not House St. Germaine which are two different houses. I know nothing of the other one and know people get them confused.

I was wondering for a moment...Yeah, I have heard of the imposter House, as well as its rants and raves about Adriana's sanctuary. Eh, drama is drama. Can't expect them all to get along. At least Dree and I are still on good terms.

Technically Thomas, we are all solo. Some of us just have Houses which act as Sanctuary for those of whom live within the walls of certain populous. Such as with New Olreans, being one of the few vampiric cities in the nation.

I think you misunderstand...Online Houses are a bit differant than those of IRL Houses.

IRL Houses, being found in almost every major city, are a bit like sanctuaries, but do not quote me on this, as I have not been to every major city to know what these Houses consist of.

I can tell you, that certain Houses in New Olreans are sanctuary...I know this as I am proprietor of a House that has been sanctuary for many years.

The Houses on the Rave, are for communicable purposes I think. As a way of forming desirable friendships online. As well as to maintain a certain stand point on responsibility merits. Such as being a House admin. It is differant for all on the Rave, so I am not a be all end all for any information.

Although they do sound mighty interesting.

But on the other hand they sound too constricting and aristocratic (for my taste).

Usaully in this situation it's best not to do it and avoid betrayal and expulsion or worse.

Or talk to a leader from the veil you CAN trust and discuss it and keep it a secret.
