Was curious, Spirits you do not want in your home have to leave if you demand them to leave by Gods name correct?
Or is there other ways of getting rid of unwanted spirits in your home?

You could always have an exorcism done on the house, but that pretty much qualifies under the "In God's Name" category, you could always try smudging to get rid of unwanted/negative feelings/entities, those are really the only two I know of, sorry.

The easiest way to get rid of a ghost is to simply ask it to leave. Use a firm voice and tell the ghost exactly what you want and why. You might say something like this: "This is my house and it bothers me when you are around all the time. Would you please leave?" Remember, the physical world is your domain and ghosts rarely have any power in the physical world.

Ghosts don't always know that they are dead. You may have to explain to them that they are dead, that they no longer belong in the physical world and will be better off if they move toward the light.

Sometimes you may have to ask what the spirit wants. This is often the case with someone who has recently passed over who may be attempting to communicate to you about something. Afterwards, they are happy to leave.

If the spirit or ghost activity does not stop, or stops only for a while, then resumes, you may want to do a spiritual cleansing of your home. This is the traditional practice of "smudging" a home to get rid of an unwanted ghost. However, most believe it will only
temporarily slow the activity down, for the ghost needs to truly move on.

Crack a window in each room of your home and take a dried bundle of sage and "smudge" your home clearing out any
negative or stagnant energies. Smudging is simply lighting the sage bundle (you can also use cedar and sweet grass), making sure you have a safe receptacle to catch the ashes in, and walking around your entire
home allowing the smoke to circulate and cleanse the energy and space.

Being firm and unemotional, walk around each room of your home, while saying loudly and firmly, "This sage is cleansing out all negative energies and spirits... all
negative energies and spirits must leave now through the windows and not return." Do this until you sense the negative energy has gone and the room's energy lightens (to a positive - look for peace) and then say, "In the name of God , this room is now cleansed." Know and sense this.

Then there is the Excorsism, but a Catholic priest must have the approval from his archdiocese in order to perform it.

The ancient reason is that all other venues must be exhausted, and one need not unecessarily create undue fear by performing exorcisms unecessarily.

The modern reason is lawsuits. Exorcisms can be difficult processes, and if a person comes to harm or dies during one, litigation can be made against the Church.

One can also use various gems and crystals as well. Tyger's eye and quartz work very well for protection and getting the spirits to leave. The black onyx also works for this as well. If the firm voice don't work, try to change the tone of your voice. If you sound angry with them, they will show the agression back to you. I will look through my herbs list and some other places to see if there is some more information or links that I can find for you.

You can also try smudging your house & sprinkle Sea Salt in every corner of your house in every room. As you are smudging your house with a sage stick tell the ghost what you want it to do. Tell it that it is scaring you & that it is not wanted in your house & that it is time for it to move on. As it has been stated, not all ghost know that they are dead & they just need to be pointed in the right direction.

I have never heard of sprinkling sea salt, but ofcourse I am still learning, would you mind being a little more detailed on that subject?
I have heard that you should say a prayer while smudging, asking the ghost to go away through that prayer or wish, not necessarily demanding that it leave, but hey what ever works I guess.

you can demand them to leave but they dont all ways leave if they where there befor you moved in they will fight you what you need to do is burn sage and say this words no negative energy may remain in this space only good an postive enegry may remain in this space and go aroung the house and get in al the doors windows and corners and every room and do the out side as will!!!

We gathered a group of Tohunga (spiritual elders/leaders) to bless each and every wall and door in our house and guide the spirits out of our front door. It is very similar to the smudge method which has been mentioned here. Which ever method you choose to use, you may need to be repetitive. Some times they come back.

I agree...A firm voice and have your mind state in order....If it is a harsh one, just do a protective circle of salts arround the house...Not to hard....Unless, it's a demon or somthing you brought in...Then, you need to bless...

It sounds that if the walls shook and picture frames fell, then something rather dark in nature is inside, and if so, it may come to doing something really strong to get rid of it for good.

As far as I know, just get an exorcism or whatever.

You could just ask em to leave.

some people get exorsizums (sp?) but you can ask a spirit to leave, you can also use sage and sertin rites to rid them of your home. there are many stones to you can wear for protection if you have a spirit but don't wish to have them leave. this is an awsome question, i hope you get many more answers

Absolutely no way! Spirits can attahc themselves to a place and it may take an expereince and seasoned excorsist to rid the home or person of the entity

U can try and ask them to leave, but it does not mean they have to. If they dont leave u may have to find someone that can do a banishing ritual

Well, it all depends on who or what they are.. I had one in my house that I named hector.. He use to hit the shower curtain everytime I was in the shower, and hide my exes house keys every time we faught..

there are a number of ways both using dead languages, and English to accomplish these.

Infernalmage, you have a very good point here. There is really no need to rid the spirit if there is no harm being done. The two can exist in the same place quiet wonderful. The spirit can also help out (if you ask for it) when there is trouble or something like that going on. They can also be very good with protecting children.

Spiritual presences can manipulate the physical environment, if there is a power outage you could command that there be at least one light on, or a source of light. Or if its hot a cooler temperature....Make it work for you instead of against you.

I have heard that certain types of herbs and or scents can expel evil spirits. The most common is White Sage; it is burnt in the home and some is hung to cleanse and purify the area. It is said to expel any impure spirits and prevent re-entry but I have never tested that theory.

I have heard of smudging to help rid your home of this ghost and also sea salt. But you must be very firm. I also heard that you must not let it sense your fear when doing this. That they feed off fear and negative energy.

I actually agree with TheDarkX, most of this depends on how strong the entity is right? I think the only way to get rid of it for good would be an exorcism.

you are correct, if they entity is strong you will need to do research where white sage and sea salt will not work... that would only piss the stronger ones off

Residual traffic in your environment, can "enhance" event occurrence, people leaving oppressive insinuations cause geist activity to increase in "force" even to the point of assisted response disassociation, acting outside of ones self, it is how I keep walking when I have seizures. After trauma ones senses are frazzled, hyper receptive reactions are instinctual safe guards, a non hostile person, or a person that has resigned from counter confrontation after being meet with "brick wall effect". keeping geist, serves a purpose to both those that share in events, if one is a ghost magnate then what are the odds of getting a pleasant geist ?

You mention God , and the mixing of the two.. I am sure that a ghost, would be quite peeved by not haven been allowed in heaven. Yet if prayer counters the build up of events then why not lay an alter to those forces, A little sacred place to focus.. perhaps gather things in your house that mark your current interest and craft, if the air in you house needs life a spirit is likely to not feel in company, Ghost seek only to be content, subtle spirits are flushed out, we want all our ghost sentimental, yet malicious ghost are bound to over come those that dwell on such things in moments of despair, or re-sensitizing after a death, after a harsh break up, when the boy friends family and the apports family present an environment for events.

it really depends....if it's just a spirit and you know thats all it is...those things would work...but if it is something more you may piss it off....

Another thing to take into consideration is if the unwanted spirits are attached to the house or to the individuals inside it. In many cases the negative spirits are attracted to individuals who are in their own lives surrounded with negativity. You can remove the current spirits, but you will also need to work on the esteem and energy field of residents to ensure permanent banishment.

The best way to describe what their capable of is a movie I once saw..

One should seek-out potential sources, "trigger activity", opening up about underlying animosity in the environment is likely to enforce any long term reassurances. Another thing I know this is far out, but attempt to create a window to interact in an entertaining manner. Match the ghost action for action.. once the ghost is out ghosted they are more likely to shuffle along.

i think there are quite a few ways to do that but you would have to try diffrent ones to find out wich one works best for you

another potential thing to effect such events is to replace furniture, has any furniture been added to your house in the window of activity?

Has any shift in the religious make-up of the house occurred recently?

Are their a lot of underlining repressed conflicts?

Have all physical possibilities been ruled out (this is where recorded material comes in, along with journals) is anybody dismissing the Apports Claim? Who is else is Targeted by activity?

If anyone is indeed having trouble with spirits, I agree with an earlier post, why do you need to get rid of it? I see no point in kicking out a spirit unless it's seriously a problem, and even then, most of us have lived with irritating room mates. Try just dealing with it.

depends on the spirit if its pure even you need a priest. if it is a little of both the you just need a cross or something holy to drive it out. with me i just use acient rituals or release my true darkness and scare the souls away

The only truly evil spirit that I encountered I simply got rid of it, by telling it to leave, telling it that it could not hurt me, that my faith was stronger than her, it worked.
Another time I used holy water and asked the spirit to leave, this one was not really evil, just confused

if the ghost gets angry when you try to get it to leave it might be because, as said above, that it doesnt know that its dead so maybe it still thinks that your house belongs to it... and it may be bothering you to try to get you to leave... you could try to communicate with it and tell it that its dead but be calm and remember your telling a ghost that its dead... have a little sympathy and its more likely to leave

I find that convincing yourself that they cannot harm you or that they don't exist works wonders.

you could do aprotection spell and then try a exercisom, that way they can't come back.

I know I lived in a house before where we had the spirit of a little boy and he was just evil. We commanded him to go away in the name of God. Well for a week or two it was ok, but then he was back and the sad thing is the house had already been blessed by a priest. So I really dont know what to tell you, because then we moved into another house that had a spirit and I told her that she was not welcome there and to leave my house in the name of God and she did.

well since there are more beliefs thn just in god i believe there are other ways to cast out get rid of a unwanted spirit but i always believe a spirit has to go somewhere so if you cast it out it may go to another place..

Throw a pinch of salt any kind of salt at the spirit and it will leave.

Most of the time when you get rid of them though they will always come back to bother you so the next step is to sprinkle salt around windows and whatnot.
But I have done this and it has worked for me.

Use a smudge stick to purify the area in which they bother you. If they follow you, purify yourself with the smoke.

Nope they dont have to leave just because you say in gods name..... and salt only works to keep them out AFTER they are out.. otherwise you are trapping them in....


Truth of the matter is if they arent hurting you or anyone else in the home... why make them go.....

Its usually best to try and help them go... thats what they want more often then not.

You could try a spell or cleanse your house.

asking a spirit " god's name what do you want ? " can help.... try burning some dragns blood and red sandlwood for prtection and asking the elements for protection and aid in cleansing your home... indian sweet grass and white sage bound with white string can be useful burn a whiet candle for spirit...

Spirits do not know they are dead. It maybe they are attached to the house and are looking after what they consider belongs to them. It may help if you can find someone who can release them into the light. The Spirit may feel you are the intruder.

To get a excorism from a preist is hard. For they have to go through channels of the church in order for it to be allowed.

I have a mirror reflecting from the outside of my home to keep unwanted spirits out. I also have 4 clear quatrz crystals buried at the corners of the house.

Inside I also burn a white candle that has been dressed in oil whether patcholi or sandlewood. I take the candle and burn sage through each room asking for each room to be blessed with the white light of a higher power.

After the candle has burnt out I then bury the candle with a offering...

It's not that much easy as some people make it seem to be.

Not all spirits are the same, some are stronger than others and certain entities are even stronger than spirits.

Believe me I have my share of these type of happenings, and they weren't a joke.

Luckilly it seemed they have left me, without me really doing anything about it, or maybe the banishing and protection spells I did before had finally worked.

Also I wouldn't ignore the idea that certain entities get sent by other people too, it is more difficult when you don't know the source, and even though not all spirits are bad, most of them are anyway, for me if the spirit is being a problem to a person than it is a bad one, countless times I had my bed shaking, not fun and not positive at all.

Well, from my experience, an unwanted spirit is just like a bad child. You keep acknowledging it, you're giving it what it wants so it isn't going to leave. If you just ignore it, sure, it's temper may get worse but it will eventually leave and never come back.

i really need to ask what you mean by unwanted.. are these spirits doing things that you feel you need to rid yourself of them or you just dont like sharing your space and what them gone ?

Freinds of mine bought a really affordable house in Old Sacramento by the river. It was always having windows slid open and the doors left locked only to be unlocked later on.

It was suggested several times that they probably had spirits residing there with them.

Finally a group of us held a weekend party there, with drums, gongs, etc (Chinese friends gave them the idea)
WE stuck around for at least 24 hours, and made a clamoring sound every hour on the hour from room to room.

Sorry my story's so long... that pretty much did it. They never had issue with doors left unlocked or patio windows slid open again.

i believe that if a said spirit dosent belive in that god it wouldnt work. just like if your still alive . i think they would have to believe in that god in order to scare them off and get them to leave.

As far as I was aware, like with a demonic possession, an exorcism would be needed to drive it from the place.

you have to ask yourself what they want or maybe they seen something in you that was in them and they dont want you to be unhappy as them.

while id recommend burning white sage and or dragons blood or copal.. at first.id then take a look at your emotional state.see if there is any one emotion that you have been stuck in.we are food to some entities that will show up when your down,for example.if the entity will not leave you must starve it of what it is feeding off of and raise your energy to one it can not handle.

Burning sage and saying a prayer while doing so usually helps, but if the prescence in your house is too strong you may have to ask a priest to bless each room in the house individually. The priest usually brings holy water with him, and it may help to ask the priest to say a prayer of protection fo you and your loved ones. You shouldn't ask for a priest though if it is offensive to your religion, because the entitiy will know the blessing and/or prayers are false.

I have never encountered a spirit. I have been told that my "aura" is to painful to them. That they will not be in my vicinity, because of the pain I cause them. On a couple of occasions, I have went to the peoples house, and just walked around. I am told later by the owners that when they got back there, the spirits where gone(I didn't encounter anything in the first place). This would usually fix the homeowners for about 3-4 months, then I would come back and walk through the house again. Man I should have charged those people, anyway. You could see if you know anybody like that. They may be able to help you. By the way, I have been told, that I have the blackest aura people have ever seen. I don't know what that means, but that is what I have been told. Hope this helps.

Secure all lose cabinets, Have a handy man check the crawl spaces, and all your pipes for stability, ghost seem to like to rattle lose things, also keep smaller stacks near walk ways, ghost create breezes when they move about.. Moving the furniture about can vent an atmosphere as well. Ghost move in Vacuums.

Perhaps the most effective method is simply not to believe in them. I don't believe in spirits and I don't believe in God. And I'm never plagued by spirits. I recently left a forum designed to defend Christianity and there were dozens of atheists there along with hundreds of Christians. The debate forum provided polls, one of which showed that for every non-believer who became a believer, there were just over 13 believers who became non-believers (www.christianforums.com). It got so bad they finally disallowed use of the word "myth" and anything else they could even loosely classify as blasphemy and they did this despite the fact that the very concept of blasphemy would have to be blasphemy. It's a self-refuting concept because it paints a supposedly supreme entity as being very petty and childish.

The point is simply this; with all of the dozens of atheists there and all of the conversations and debates, not a single atheist ever reported any kind of encounter with a spirit, good or bad.

Don't want them around you? Disbelieve in them. Job done.

Fear not the label closed minded, those that say only open minded people believe in, and experience para-normal activity. It is just not so, Christians say peoples hearts are hardened as a plead to their comfort threshhold, nobody can be at peace with the persistent "Is my heart hardened". It does seem to be a contest. And yes, I've had many Christians (none who know me), proclaim that my heart is hardened simply because I couldn't find anything about their belief to even qualify as rational.

Funny thing, though. When they say "heart", they mean "emotion". They want you to accept on emotion and dismiss reason.

God is never angry with atheists. Atheists are never angry with God. Atheists aren't plagued by ghosts, spirits or wayward souls and most of us seem to understand that good and evil are perspectives, not absolutes.

Identifying everything that is not a ghost helps one find peace. I have taken Pop bags, and bombed the Boogy man for friends children. Secure items before you go to sleep, note where people in the house are when "activity happens" if you have a particular area that has activity, when you are some where else, then camera that area, even a false camera.. it is not a ghost you are hoping to catch but what is not a ghost.. can help in the long run to resolve the disturbance such activity can cause. Some people have denial about the actual cause of activity, like a restless house mate.. doing suspect activity. This needs to be resolved.. it bares on the emotions of the household.

One thing works, I call in the big boys for cleaning. Ask the angels to get rid of this ghost/evil You are feeling. And say you want it out NOW. Works great, angels do not care your beliefs ,just ask & tell exactly what you want. & say thank you later.

It is possible a spirit may be "attached" to an item in the house. If this is the case and you remove said item, this may assist you.

Since disbelief seems to work without the need for a cleaning, wouldn't that be two things that work, rather than just one?

I would be more likely to use a cleaning for those pesky unicorn fleas. Obviously, being such fanciful parasites, they don't respond to the usual shampoos and dips. So I call in the fantasy cleaning crew and I won't suffer a bite from another unicorn flea for at least 6-months.

What is it about disbelief that seems to be more powerful than spirits, gods, angels, myths, demons, ghosts and poltergeists?

Is it the same reason that people who believe in the Christian God never seem to have a revelation from Allah? Is it the same reason that those who believe in Allah never have a revelation from the Christian God? Is it the same reason that children who believe in Santa Claus receive presents from Santa while adults who don't believe in Santa receive no presents from him?

One needn't believe in cancer to get cancer. One needn't believe in the power of the police and judicial system to get arrested and convicted. Those things are real. It seems that only imagined things are protected against by failing to imagine them to be real.
