I've been seeing in many of the psychic based threads, people mentioning how those psychics talk to their clients and find out a little bit about them before "reading" them, and then when they've read them, the psychic will simply recite everything they know about their client from their conversation prior, but may simply word it differently.
So, I thought a little about that statement for myself, and came up with this.
Life...life is unpredictable. You never know what will happen to you the next minute, never. Some psychopath can just come up and shoot you out of nowhere, or you can just win a lottery and become a millionaire out of nowhere. You never know.
Has anyone had something completely unpredictable happen to them? Something just BAM, and it happened? Has it changed your life somehow, and how so?
me and my mate were having a wonderful relationship. then out of nowhere he started to hang out with his foster brother again. his foster brother has a very bad criminal record, no job, and doesn't go to school. we hung out with him one day and he brought vodka and spray paint... bad idea. we got arrested that day and it totally screwed up our lives. we're still together, but he still has another 4 years of probation left on his back. a lot of bullshit happened when we were arrested. not fun at all.
yeah i did. i think it happens to everyone. when people expect something to happen and something completelly unrelated happens. a lot of times with me it happens with people. i think they're going to do something and they do the opposite.
i think upredictabillity (hope thats right) is a major part of life, it doesn't matter what you plan or what you do, no one can fully control the outcome.
me and my sister were dirt broke and i had only been back in town for 10 days.. used our last four bucks to buy a lottery ticket and won 25,000 bucks..
The Gas Station I worked for did nothing to respond to an extreme situation on the job, I lost my job and my place. I have never been happier..
As you say Life is unpredictable...we never know what will happen from day to day...I think everyone has experienced an event that has occurred unexpectedly whether it be pleasant or not.
most of my life is predictable and it's scary.............i'd like to be surprised every once in awhile.............but about a month ago......me, my hubby, and daughter were in a car wreck and we've gotten a good sum of cash from it.
Resources make all the difference in such things, I have noticed things that where coming to me, usually because I set them in motion, and chose to ignore them, then when a situation happens the outcome is exasperated by the lack of cushion, the night I moved out of my place, (out into the cold..) I went back to a squat I had stayed in before.. i just wondered to it.
yeah.............the strange isn't so strange when you live in the comfort of weirdness. lol
i have something unpredictable happen to me once a week at least
One time as I was leaving the club, as we were all celbrating because it was last night out before I moved out of country I found 500$ on the floor ...So we all went out for breakfast... My treat of course...
i woke up at 4:30 in the morning while i was at the beach decided to go walking i never wake up that early to go for a walk while i was out i found $100 on the ground
I think everyone will or have had something totally unpredictable happen to them in their life...isn't that what life is about? You can't control everything that happens or what other people do to you, you can only control (to a certain extent) how you react.
Muli...very well stated...life is unpredictable...we cannot predict what will happen so it does all depend on how we react to it. The more amazing it seems to us the more of an impression it may leave.
If life was predictable woulndn't that be rather boring?
Being predictable is un-predictable
Being un-predictable is predictable.
I never wanted to get married and now look at me I am getting ahead of myself because I found the person that makes me want to get married. I never thought I would find someone who wanted to be in my life and I did. Changed my life a lot and how I see things.
I NEVER know how things are going with me from one day to the next
My life is fairly predictable as I believe are the lives of many others.
I don't remember anything very unpredictable happening to me, but I live in hope.
lol... Before marriage, everything was perfect. After that wedding ring was on my finger... Things changed, & fast ;)
on 9/11,i was almost killed,i was only 2 blocks away when the first plane hit.my little sister was trapped in the south tower and died.
that moment in time completly changed my life..
Has anyone had something completely unpredictable happen to them? Something just BAM, and it happened?
Yes it has, life never stops giving me them, it has never been something I like to talk about. I do hate the ones were you can't do anything but stand there dumb founded with your mouth wide open.
Has it changed your life somehow, and how so?
Lets just say I have a wall around my heart and myself were no one can really get in side.
Well first I gotta get technical because I'm just that way :) Everything can be predicted if you have all the numbers. You can know if your going to win the lottery or if your gonna get shot. Although tis rare to be able to predict such things...feabel minded people! (myself included)
Have I ever had anything unexpected happen that changed my life?
Yes, several.
A year ago I was diagnosed with an icky possibly fatal illness.
About 5 years ago I met the only woman to ever fully change my life, shes amazing.
And last year I lost the biggest donor to my organization thus forcing a "radical redirectioning" and it has indeed changed my life, in many ways.
I had lightning hit me.. I lived which was not only a shock(no pun intended) but unpredictable.
I had a severe stroke 4 years ago, lost my speech and language skills, ability to walk or use my right hand. At the time I was leading a very active life and working full time with 2 other part time positions.
I have since regained all my previous capabilities with the exception of my right hand which is partially paralyzed. But I went from a comfortable lifestyle to not ever being able to work again and living paycheck to paycheck, no writing skills, and a marriage turned upside down, over night....
all those shows are lies i mean unless you can actually have the spirit show itself then your lieing. now with me i have my dead grandparents watching over me and they will appear in my room. my mom was looking at a picture of them and then they disappeared from the picture for a half hour. that was because they appeared in my room just like they were in the picture. a stupid psychic tried to say what they wanted before i went of on her because she lied. grandma was talking to me and correcting that woman proved my link to them
For my last job....
I was tired of all the pointless bullshit....
so I put in my resignation.... and said I would leave after 4 weeks....
during that time I learned that the company filed for bankruptcy.....
I consider it one of the funniest moments of my life!
when i was like 13 i move to Idaho, but the way it happend was one of those ... BAM... insadents...
my parents had just got divorced and my dad didnt want to live in Texas ,my old state, so he decided that he was going to move... he asked me to go but i said no, i was staying with my mom. so the day before my dad was going to leave he came to my moms house to let my older brother say by to my mom and me... relizing he was gonna miss us alot my dad decided to make one last desparate attempt to get my mom to go... and amazingly she gave in and said yes... half a week later i was in Shelly Idaho looking for a house...i still miss the friends that i left behind but i love it here :) its great but it happend in a flash...
Yes life is unpredictable but isnt it what makes exciting and worth living wouldnt it be boring if we live a predictable life
While on a flight back from Melbourne back to Auckland in February this year, I was seated next to my ex fiance and his new fiance. That was unpredictable. And funny.
this didnt happen to me.. but last week, one of my good friends lost her bf in a car accident..
they were going out for four years, planned on getting married and everything...
then one morning at like 5 he lost control of his car, ran into a pole and died on impact.. the next day, she found out he was dead and shes been depressed ever since...
now i just keep thinking how life isnt a garentee.. and how anything can happen, and when things like this do happen its a real tradgety =[
The weekend that my hubby, VanDick, had a major bleed, was a real wake up call. You expect to grow old together and not expect to hear that he may not make it to 50 or even come out of the hospital. That was when we found out how sick he was. I remember that summer I was numb with the news. Our family doctor put us in touch with another doctor. He eventually went on the list for a transplant. Our son was the donor. It's 4 years now. We are thankful for every day and our son. But we never forget the rug being pulled out from our happy existence.
My neighbor her Granddaughter was thrown from a car.
She landed in a creek that crushed her fall. Both veribrates are broken. She will need to learn to walk over again. She was not paralized which is good news. She was 25.
The following week...a friend of mine..the parents of a girl she knew was 24. They were partying as the first girl in the story above was. She said she was going to get cigarettes. They thought she was going to the car to get them,,,instead she started the car and started driving went over a hill she died.
yes life is unpredictable in just a spilit second.
my grandfather died, he hot the ground and died. It was the most unpredictible thing that has ever happend in my life. Ithought he was going to be around alot longer.
I just got told I was scary by a " friend" and needed to change to become a "doll" a complet stranger told me otherwise the same day as I was about to change to be less scary.
Sometimes you meet a person and as it was said BAM everything turns around
I also found 20$ while walking out of my car to my place.
This is not the first time money pops up when I don't expect it or when I am about to laod my credit cards instead of paying cash.
Life is unpredictable you can predict some things, like its going to rain or you will get a raise or you will hurt yourself at the dentist lol
What I mean is we all have our BAM and our "I knew it"
That is the point of being alive.
i don't believe one should chnge the way how they are for anyone.
well pretty much 2 days after i bought my new car a 18 wheeler hit me and my boyfriend in a parking lot and the guy got out of the truck to see if we were alive i guess and then jumped in his truck and sped off my boyfriend tried to chase him but the car was to messed up and now my back is messed up it was just out of the blue we still dont know why he drove off and since he did and no one got the licence plate i got hardly any money for my car u just dont think those kinda things r gonna happen to u untill it does i guess
Santa came down the chimney and gave me a bag of presents, Its unpredictable because it happend last week >.>
According to the Many Worlds theory, there is an unimited numbers of intersecting paths. So the unpredictable would seem to be the norm. Perhaps the psychics are able to view some of the alternate paths. By simply knowing something may change your path from the prediction.
won a scholarship at my college that i didnt even sign up for which helped me get farther down the road in my education, when i asked who submitted it for me they couldnt even find the paper work.
Everything was fine with my last mate and still she cheated on me after me being in jail for 3 out of my 4 1/2 month sentence
at christmas time 4 yrs ago i didnt have any money to get gifts for my kids. Some still believed in Santa and i was really upset about it. My friend and I were walking between cars in a mall parking lot to get to the bus and there was 600 dollars on the ground. My kids and I had a wonderful christmas and I was so happy.
Yes, I have. But it was for a good thing. It truly made me a happier person.
Will I say what that thing is? No.
But truly it was a great thing, but was sadly lost.
When I was doing readings for people, professionally, I only asked their names and birthdays. My preferred way to read was for them to not go into things, and just let me read. That way, I don't get emotionally involved in hoping so and so will love them or whatever.
And many of them will tell you not to tell them anything, so that it will be legitimate. Not all readers are scam artists.
It seems like there is always something, as soon as I get comfortable then something else happens that I didn't even see coming. Sometimes they are good things but more times than not its something negative or even traumatic. Its the way life is for most of us.
Yeah you know everything in my life happens out of knowhere lately, some bad some good. If life were predictable, it'd suck, cause it be like that old movie ground hogs day, you'd wake up knowing what'll take place minute to minute and it'd be like going through the motions.
If life were predictable it would cease to be life, and be without flavor.
☠ Eleanor Roosevelt
even though i believe that some have the ability to foresee what may happen i believe that there is always the unexpected. you never know what will happen
About the most unpredictable moment in my life was when my mother and step father secretly went behind my back and took custody of my daughter. My mother played her role very well, someone I thought I could trust since I was her only child, but that moment taught me that not even family can be trustworthy.
Lastyear my friends and I were having a really good day and we walked around for the longest time. and one of my friends broke a door so they could go put a belt on cause they didnt trust my other friend and I. and the wittnesses called the cops, and we didnt expect it happen. My friend's mom doesnt like me. that's how it changed my life. and the friend that broke the door and I are closer than we were lastyear. So that's good :)
Life is very unpredictable...we may be able to guide ourselves in certain aspects but you never know whats around that next bend. Who you may meet that will change your life...or what may happen to change it for you. You meet the best people that way
When my daughter was 6 months old , i came home from work to a empty house.I looked for years for her but after 3 years gave up. 8 yrs later with no notice a girl knocks on my door with a social worker and says hi daddy. I have had her ever since she is almost 18 now.

I was betrothed at birth. The guy was actually my best friend and we were always together growing up. About 10 days after my 13th birthday, we were walking home from school and got caught in a drive-by shooting (We didn't live in a very good neighborhood). I watched him bleed out because a bullet had severed his left axillary artery. I was paralyzed. And when they finally got there, it took 5 fully grown men to pull me off him because I didn't want to let go.
I don't think any child (or any person for that matter) would expect that to happen.
yes life is full of unpredictables. no one knows how long he/she gonna live , no one knows whats going to happen to them in the immediate moment.its full of uncertainty and we got to live along with it.
Well the biggest BAM for me was when I was 17 I had my life before me, I had everything mapped out. I was going to complete high school and move on from there to go to University to study Psychology. I even was considering moving into the field of Criminal Psychology. But 2 days before I started high school my father went back to work a week early to supervise the return of a large piece of machinery. The sling snapped and the 4 tons of machinery hit my father in the back, face and knee as it swung around on the back of the truck.
That day my bright future ended. I had to leave high school a month later because my family couldn't afford the morgage and send both my brother and myself to school. So I was the one that had to make the sacrifice. I had to get a job to help support my family. All the sudden at 17 I had to quickly learn to budget and run a house hold because my mother was too bereft to do it herself. I had to suddenly and quickly become an adult.
So my dream shattered and died. It did make me rather cynical and reluctant to plan for the future.
And to this day my family are a bunch of ungrateful jerks that lie, cheat and steal to get what they want. So I feel I made my sacrifice for nothing.
Two things actually. The first was my husband has a major bleed. They told me he may not make it. We always think it's happily ever after and we never know. When we went to a gastro doctor, he said he won't live past 50. We planned on growing old together.Thank God with the transplant he may make it. The second time was when our dog had a heart problem. He was on medication and doing well. His last visit we were told whatever we were doing, that he was doing good. Then a few days later we take him for a simple procedure. One minute he is on our lap, wagging his tail. Then they come out and tell us he had major heart failure. We kissed him goodbye and that was it. It broke our hearts.
My whole life is one whole unpredictable event after another. I seldom know whats coming even when I am trying to plan things. I rather envy the lucky ones who find or win money. I wish that would happen to me. We are filing for bankruptcy as soon as we can get the money together to do it. So, I predict money is gonna be very tight for a while. lol Nothing new there. How has it affected me? Well. I guess its made me a little resigned to my boring life.
so many bad things happen to me, i just really dont care much anymore, its dirt on my shoulder and i just brush it off
My first wife passed away a mth after I returned home from an overseas deployment. This happened out of the blu as you might say and it caused a lot of heartache and confusion with not just me and my kids but everyone who knew her. So yes you can say this was unpredictable no one saw this coming. But life goes on and we have to deal with these sort of things.
It wasnt long after this that I became friends with my current wife. We became very close to the point were we could feel how each other is feeling. I had no intentions of falling in love let alone get married again. My kids felt the ssame way and we eventually got married. Again this happened out of left field. So within 12 mths I lost the one I loved and found another. As I said life goes on and we need to live our lives day by day. Some ppl say they can read our lives but life takes some wicked twist and turns which we never can foresee.
life for me is a string of unpredictalbe events woven together with fate and chance.
I met my first real boyfirend travis who was a bad egg, by one bad choice.
i dont think many things are unpredictable, people tend to overlook events leading up to a bad occurence, for example
say someone gets liver cancer and they have a history of drinking and doing drugs, wouldnt it sound absent minded or foolish if the person said -i dont know how it happened-
ive discovered that when i think about it, many things that happen were set in motion by other events leading to a climax and by thinking about this and panning out possible outcomes in mind within realistic reason, i can sort of see whats coming which is by no means any kind of psychic thing, just a very well educated guess
I think thats the best thing about life because it is so unpredictable.
Yes most things happen because of a lead up to the event. However that doesnt mean the event was predictable. When something happens that you were not prepared for that is unpredictable.
When I was 14 my mom tried to kill herself.
I was skipping school, and just being a pre-teen. I had a runaway friend come stay with us, my mom, my lil bro and me. Pretty much, I did what I wanted.
One night I wanted to rent a movie, so I asked my mom for money. she said take it, you do what you want anyway. So I did, and went to get a movie.
We came back home and my mom had moved into my bedroom. So we started the movie. My lil bro came home from a friends. A little bit later the phone rang. I told my bro to get it. He came back and said we needed to call an ambulance for our mom.
I went into shock. I asked who called, he didn't know. what did they say exactly? To call an ambulance for mom. I didn't even go in the room to see her, I just became paralyzed.
we called and they came, right when they wheeled her out, missionaries from our church came over. They said they just had a feeling to come over.
They found empty pill bottles in the couch. My mom had overdosed on her strong meds. they pumped her stomach just in time though.
We still don't know who called us, or why they didn't call an ambulance themselves. I still believe it was a guardian angel.
Anyway, this event made me grow up real fast. Later that year we moved to another province and not long after my mom checked into a hospital, because she didn't feel safe.
I watched over my lil bro at 15. a few months later she came out, but yeah.
I grew up really fast in that year.
my best friend was in a wreck two years ago that took his life. I heard about it the next day at school. the worst part is that i talked to him an hour before it happend. The driver that hit him walked away without a scratch.
Life is unpredictable and sometimes unfair. makes you stop and wonder why bad things happen to good people, while the bad one's get off clean
Free will is related to also having to make a decision, then again we can always not make any decision, but in each decision we make we give a meaning to life or we erase that meaning with each decision, thousands or millions of possibilities , each one being a web in out path, future and mind, no one can actually predict without a doubt the results of each choice we make, otherwise no one would have free will of choice, but everyone can predict some effect or consequences of some actions we make or choose to make.
why would anyone want life or anything else to be predictable. that takes the fun out of it. if life were predictable there would be no challenges or lessons learned. I dont want someone telling me how my life will turn out because if they did i would opt to change it just to spite them.
From wikipedia:
the Heisenberg uncertainty principle states that locating a particle in a small region of space makes the momentum of the particle uncertain; and conversely, that measuring the momentum of a particle precisely makes the position uncertain.
Learning this changed my life...
along with the Buddist precept of impermanence.
everything in life is unpredictible, its a proven fact...it sucks but thats life.
everythings unpreddictable, you may be able to control yourself but not others, like this month we had to get the brakes fixed on the suv and this is the Brokest lol we have been in 9 years so you never know whats going to happen
i have to all so have my toncils removed along with a cyist in my throat on thrusday and the docter didn't say anything about it til the last minute, so it caught me off gaurd, and ive never had surgery
well the main reason im nervous is the pain after words lol, and no solids for a few days man that sux,
yea my mom had her tubes tied and burnt twice before she had me and im still here
Life is unpredictable.
I have had many things happen to me. but off the top of my head, i cant think of any, but they have happened.
i'd say we're both miracles.
when i had mine taken out i couldnt speak for two days and i had to consome a major amount of liquids. i loved the ice cream though lol
A meteorite bounced off a secret Chinese spy satellite and downed a plane which fell on me, crushing me to death while I was on a back road in Guatamala after having been detoured due to road construction and a peasant revolt....but nothing unpredictable has ever happened to me or ever will.
yes it was a Bam i wake up and then he shot his self in fornt of me and yes it changed my life i life everyday like the next min will not come
I call them click moments.. yet it would not be anything that could sway me. I find that right before the event that I get that twing.. however if I am dwelling on the last event, and how "I could have seen it coming." It never works.. the creative process can sketch out somethings, usually things we are doing that are with common risk. It is the after event that I seem to get that.. i should have seen.. such and such hint.. in a daze.. bam the next event.. fall-out ? it is good to see the positive do the same thing once in a great while.. if we pick up more subtle things about our environments interaction with us and those around us.. we may hazard an inch away from a falling safe.. yet the other workers would not be so lucky, are we to kick ourselves for failing to alert? I would hope not.. yet if you save them.. is it not just as much them listening to an alert of safty assessment.. an instinct?
Events are predictable relative to attentivness.. yet seldom are they attended enough to actually be predicted. After an event any one can Monday Morning Quarter back.. what could have been/should have been noticed. This does not rule out the freak accident.. like "Who would have seen a frisby decapatate a man.. ?
